I applied for Vetassess assessment on the 29th of August 2016 and on Monday 12th Sept 2016 (6wks plus) i got a Negative outcome my degree from a Nigerian state university was assessed as Australian Associate degree which is below qualification requirement of the occupation i applied for

@ Oga Bellong pls what should i do, should i look for another occupation that has the Associate degree as one their requirement but has the same task as what i do presently and applied for also to be assessed by Vetassess or should i apply to be assess for thesame occupation with another assessing body like ECWA. And If i am to apply to Vetassess for another occupation is it something i should give more time as my data is still currently with them

Vetassess and their one way direction. Did u apply on 29th of august or 29th of July? WC university did you graduate from? I always encourage people to first apply for advisory service to avoid unnecessary story. You can look for another occupation but you know vetassess always asking for one year work experience in nominated occupation. wish u well bro.

You sef know abi? Lol. Northern Territory Police even gives free housing join sef.

The Police Custody Officer position in Melbourne is another good one. They are actively recruiting now, and the recruiting process is quite fast. Not as highly paid (Nothing in Melbourne is highly paid anyways yimu), but a starting salary of about 55k - 60k (penalties included). You also have the Police Auxiliary in NT. They are sworn members as well, but with slightly different duties. It does not have a swimming requirement or a high physicals requirement. It has 3 streams, and only 1 even requires a physical.
Hi sis, i pmd you. is d starting salary of 55k per year or month. I am a Project Builder, i will make more research about Darwin as you suggested. Thanks.

Please does any one know a better center with less distraction.
Thanks

This score gives you 10 points. Are you targeting 20 points?

At least you've submitted. I will have to wait till Oct to know what this new service is all about. I pray vetassess will show more leniency on our bachelor's degree. It's proving quite cumbersome for a self employed mother of 3 like me to gather my proof of employment, Vetassess ain't encouraging at all!!!
Vetassess is one of the toughest assessment bodies. You have to give them exactly what they want if not na gobe. You should be okay if your business is registered.

Advisory Service
Effective 01 September 2016 Advisory Service is no longer available
In anticipation of the new Skill Assessment Support Service available from October 2016, we are advising customers that we will no longer be taking Advisory Service enquiries from 5pm (AEST) on 31 August 2016. Fully lodged Advisory Service enquiries received prior to this date will not be affected and will be processed as normal.

Based on business improvement initiatives and customer feedback received for our current Advisory Service for general professional occupations, VETASSESS is pleased to announce the launch of Skills Assessment Support service commencing October 2016. The new service aims to provide tailored support to applicants/agents on how to submit a decision-ready application to VETASSESS. The two new replacement service will include:
(1) step-by-step document checking support in completing a VETASSESS skills assessment application; and/or
(2) understanding the Australian context for a nominated occupation assessed by VETASSESS.

Further details about this new service will be announced shortly. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we facilitate this transition.

You want to play ijebu. why not the two schools. But I'm not too sure if you can apply for pgwp outside your study province. thesoj should clarify this. I mean is it possible to study in Quebec province and apply for pgwp in Ontario? I think you can but I'm not too sure.

Kisstaye..I don't bitch...never even mentioned anything about my app on this thread. Despite my being chill, it must be accepted this process is sorta flawed. When the website tells people 12weeks and then people are still chilling 17weeks on with no medical call and some are approved/denied in 6-8 weeks? That extent of variance is not acceptable anywhere. I'm no lawyer but there is a duty of trust established when I'm told my application will processed within a particular period, should the process exceed the given time, that constitutes a tort especially because money has exchanged hands. Being a project manager and a time person, I have seen how time can be cheap and also very costly.

Barring the event of a late application, yes it is victimization to not have given an international applicant his/her judgement 2weeks from the beginning of the intended program. So many things to consider, ticket, accommodation, ample time to resign from work, sell off stuff, buy warm weather clothing and shoes etc....

The fact that we want to enter their country to study does not licence them to play God and process applications according to 'discretion' while abandoning the checklist of requirements demanded from us during submission.
CIC will Neva change. This is what they do every fall. To me its not a new thing. It maybe because they have enormous applications to deal with. All will be well.

Thanks bro, inclusive of Concordia which i ll take off as an exception from your advise, those other schools i have been on Google going through,is MEng in western university a 1years program cos i am seeing 2years? i guess i ll firstly apply to UBC but i didn't see Nigeria on the list of undeveloped countries for application fee exemption?also i think university of Saskatchewan takes 3.5+ too for MEng but i don't know the study duration though i have mailed them waiting for response
UBC is application fee free. You will be exempted to pay when you reach payment stage. Meng in western is two years but you can complete it in 3 semesters if you want to. Don't disturb yourself about the duration, even if you secured a year program you can apply to any college for another a year program to secure your 3 years pgwp when you gets to Canada.
Saskatchewan is good too. low tuition, good province for PR.

i am interested in the MEng program, can i PM you?

quote author= minnietope post=48631388]

It depends on the course of study.

M.Eng does not

michV, Concordia university is in Quebec WC is French speaking province of Canada. Settling in Quebec after your program maybe somehow unless you can speak French. I will advice you to apply to university of British Columbia, its application fee free for now. You have nothing to loose they won't even ask for your original transcript until you are admitted. Also try ryerson and western university, they do admit students with 3.5 cgpa for their meng program. Ottawa is good too but they may ask for English Test if you have graduated for like 3 years. All the best.

The way we are taking this delay and processing time is alarming. Also it may have negative side effect. Its not our right to study in Canada, we are only seeking for opportunity from cic that's why we need to apply for the visa. If you want to come to my house and I don't want you to come, there is nothing you can do about it. Most of us are going for PGD/PGC coz the admission is faster and less rigorous. We applied for PGC and get it in two weeks and we are also looking for visa immediately. We should ask masters applicant what they passed through before getting admissions.
if you really want to go to Canada, you have to give them what they want. Having 2 2 is not in any way an excuse. countless of 2 2 students have secured admission here on Nairaland and outside Nairaland with their result. Try and get your masters, mail your program advisors, try as many schools as possible you will definitely get it. You may decide to go to any school when you gets to Canada, the main objective is to enter Canada.
You may try to do a PGD in Nigeria before applying for masters or even PhD. Someone on this thread got PhD admission with PGD. nothing is impossible but we must make sure that we are ready to give it what it takes.

All the best.

Concordia, Waterloo, Ryerson, Carleton & British Columbia

Which of the unis, it's admission process is quickest (less than a month)?

Please share your experience..Thanks
I'm not sure if any of the universities can process your admission under a month. I got masters offer to Concordia in 2013 and it took nothing less than 3 months. I reapplied there again early this year the same issue. Ryerson denied me admission. for masters this year after almost 3 months. I have applied to ubc since June against 2017 January, they are yet to respond. Although I have already applied for study permit using western university. I don't have first hand experience about waterloo n Carleton but you should can check their site.

@metrecube

Don't complicate issues for yourself. It takes a very long time for family visa to be approved.

Apply together now, she has 6months to travel or she can travel to activate the visa and return to Nigeria rather than suspending it and go through the agony of applying for family visa.
Thanks bro. we will apply and go together. She will come back and round up her program in Naija and join me later.

Finally I'm here. used my whole weekend to read the entire thread. Oga bellong, you are really wonderful. I'm not surprised you are part of great Ife. I also finished from Ife.
I will like to ask, if someone is invited to apply for visa. Is it possible for the principal applicant to apply alone first and family members to apply later. I know its possible for everybody to get visas together and not go to Australia at d same time. Is it compulsory to apply for visa as a family when you are married. I'm thinking of applying for visa alone and for my wife and my son later. my wife can not go with me now.

Thanks guys.

so, I decided to go via Visit then when they come here i will apply for Open Work Permit for my wife.

Letter of Explanation (just like SOP )
Resume
BSc Certificate
WAEC Certificate
Marriage Certificate
Marriage and Family Pictures
Birth Certificate
NYSC Callup Letter
NYSC ID card
Letter from Local Government where she is serving (PPA)
Fashion Designing Certificate
Statement of Account with Balance of 3.5M
Deed of Agreement and Survey Plan of 2 plots of land i bought in her name
Air Flight Reservation showing return date

If I were you, I would use these documents to apply for sowp and visit for ma child. I don't know if you have applied already. Don't waste application fee twice. Apply for sowp straight, she will definitely get it.

My husband got delayed a few days back. I did the whole application myself and submitted it online.
Submitted on 9th of May, 2016
Biometrics the next day
He's going for BSc Nursing and has a previous degree in Biomedics {2010}.

##You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada after....
Reasons:
1 length of proposed stay
2 purpose of visit
3 current employment situation
4 personal assets and financial status.

madam, as ethan45 suggested request for the gcms note. before then some questions need to be answered concerning the application. biomedics is related to nursing, your husband finished previous degree six years ago why going for another bsc now. why not masters or PGD in any health related field. going to Canada for bsc of five years in Canada after another bsc in Nigeria is questionable. I think that's where length of proposed stay and purpose of visit came from. I hope he's working. in d next application include his employment documents and personal bank statement. all the best.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by metrecube(m): 4:27pm On Aug 12, 2016
FYI, We can actually apply via paper route without submitting original passport. visa application centre collects only copy and embassy will request for d passport later. A friend submitted his application today via paper route without original passport. He told them that his passport is with another embassy. He was only asked to make 4 copies of his data page instead of 2 copies they normally collect.
Another questionnaire was given everybody asking if they won't need their passport for d next three months.
My advice is that if you know you have a plan B, you can still apply via paper without submitting your passport or apply via online. CIC waiting period is really killing. All the best.

That's like 8 months now. Hope you are in Abuja. if not you may need to travel to Abuja to have your passport renewed. only headquarters renew passport that has more than 6 months expiry period. I maybe wrong though, nothing is impossible in Nigeria. I was at Ikeja passport office last month, that's what I was told.

But i saw this on cic website that kids of study permit holders can study without permits, thats why i applied for visitor visa for her. And Team12 and Khalesi did same visiting too for thirs kids. But im now wondering if maybe they were successful bc their kids are toddlers and wont be in sch. See below snapshot. Or could they be referring parents in canada already?
minor children WHO ARE ALREADY IN CANADA accompanying a parent who is
permitted to study or work may study in Canada without a study permit at the
pre-school, primary and secondary levels.
