Aituaje Iruobe known as Waje, an acronym for “words aren’t just enough”, is a Nigerian singer whose vocal range covers three octaves. She participated in the remake of P-Square’s “Omoge Mi” and featured as the female voice in the duo’s 2008 hit track “Do Me”. She was also featured on Banky W’s “Thief My Kele” and M.I’s “One Naira”.

Waje is currently working with the youths of her community through an organisation she calls Waje’s Safe House, where she teams up with other NGOs quarterly to help fight for their cause. The first project supported under Waje’s Safe House was the Mental and Environmental Development Initiative for Children, assisting the Project HELP (Help Educate the Less Privileged). The goal was to raise funds, from ring back tunes of her hit singles Oko Mi and I Wish. to enable children in Makoko continue their studies.

The traditional wedding ceremony between one of Ooni of Ife’s sons, Prince Adegbite Sijuade and media personality Dolapo Oni took place earlier today at Landmark Event centre in Victoria Island, but as guessed the monarch himself was absent. Though there are conflicting reports about if the monarch was still alive or not, but nothing was said about him at the traditional marriage.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday urged Nigerians to learn from the examples of the party’s founding fathers and move the nation forward.

Odigie-Oyegun said this in Abuja at an event organised by a coalition of Buhari Support Groups to mark the second year anniversary of the formation of the APC.

The Chairman, who was represented by the party’s National Auditor, Dr George Moghalu, said the party today was enjoying the unity and determination of its founders.

He challenged all party members not to rest on their oars and rise above board to fulfill the dreams of visions of the party.

He said: “Let us learn from the fact that they put their personal interest at abeyance so that national interest would be at the fore.

“They were united and determined. They forgave one another during the process of disagreeing to agree. They spent sleepless nights so that we could breathe the air of freedom.

“The good news is that their sacrifice paid off at the end of the day. Victory came. The victory was not accidental, we all worked hard for it.

“I call on you today to emulate those qualities above as we mark the formation of our great party two years ago.

“For us to continuously be victorious we must not rest on our oars. As you will agree with me for you to constantly be successful, you must work hard and focus on retaining your victory.”

He urged all to “plant the seeds of change” in all nooks and crannies of the country to fast track development.

The convener of the event, Mr Lawal Munir said the celebration would further “enhance unity among the support groups.

“We will drive the cause of attaining unity among the support groups and work towards the progress of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.”

The APC was formed from a coalition of the All Nigeria People’s Party, Action Congress of Nigeria, All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Congress for Progressive Change exactly two years ago.

1. Timaya has been having a conversation with the said lady for about a year.

2. The lady acted to be really into Timaya during all that transpired between them.

3. She promised to blow out Timaya’s mind with sex, and yeah, she did.

4. They had sex in a hotel in Atlanta.

5. She requested to attend a show with Timaya as a couple, but he refused.

6. She interrogated Timaya with her phone not leaving his face.

7. While in the hotel in Atlanta, Timaya realized that she was recording, grabbed her phone and struggled to delete the videos.

8. Timaya wasn’t sure she had any video left, but he deleted the ones he found on her phone.

15. After her demand for $50k, he stopped calling her or taking her calls and even changed his number.

16. After she couldn’t reach Timaya, she got frustrated and went on the internet to publicize the matter.

17. Timaya has claimed he is not a rapist.

18. Timaya revealed her real Instagram handle is @officialshella_b. Although she initially revealed what transpired between them using a dedicated account, ‘ExposingtherealTimaya’.

The Federal Government on Thursday in Abuja declared 24 and 25 August as Diaspora Days to recognise Nigerians in Diaspora as important stakeholders in national development.

This is contained a statement issued by Mrs Ibukun Odusote, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation.

The statement said the days were set aside to create an environment for cross fertilisation of ideas among the Diaspora experts and their Nigerian counterparts.

It hoped this would lead to proffering solutions to some of the nation’s developmental challenges.

According to the statement, the 2015 Diaspora Day celebration will be marked with a National Diaspora Day and Conference with the theme, “Diaspora and Nigeria Change Agenda.

“It would serve as a platform for dialogue, interaction and collaboration by Nigerians in Diaspora particularly professionals who have excelled in their various fields of endeavors as health, science, sport and arts, among others.

“The event, slated to hold at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja, will be declared opened and closed by President Muhammadu Buhari.”

The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Yusufu Buratai today approved the postings and appointments of 334 officers of the Nigerian Army officers with various effective dates. These include some Principal Staff Officers at Defence and Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders and General Officers Commanding as well as other commanders.

They include 37 Major Generals, 57 Brigadier Generals, 128 Colonels, several Lieutenants Colonels and others. Some of those affected were the General Officers Commanding 1, 2, 3, 81 and 82 Divisions, Operations Pulo Shield and Safe Haven of Niger Delta and Plateau States.

Some of those affected includes Major General S Yusuf, General Officer Commanding 82 Division who is now Chief of Training and Operations at Defence Headquarters, Major General MA Koleoso who is now Commander TRADOC, Major General SN Muazu who moved from 2 Division to the Headquarters Infantry Corps and appointed Commander, Major General MT Ibrahim, from Department of Army Standard and Evaluation to Nigerian Defence Academy and appointed Commandant. Major General LKJ Ogunewe is now the Chief of Policy and Plans, Major General FO Alli, is now Chief of Training and Operations and Major General AA Salihu, Chief of Logistics. Others includes Major General AG Okunola, who now Commander of Operation PULO SHIELD (JTF) and Major General TC Ude, Commander,OPERATIONS SAFE HAVEN (STF Jos).

Others are Major General LW Wiwa now Deputy Commandant of Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre. Major General A Oyebade is now the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Major General LC Ilo, General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Major General H Umaru, General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Major General IH Edet, General Officer Commanding 81 Division and Brigadier General I Attahiru is now the Acting General Officer Commanding 82 Division.

While Brigadier General AH Saad is the Acting Director of Military Intelligence, Brigadier General AT Hamman is now the Acting Provost Marshal, Brigadier General MO Uzoh, Acting Commqnder, Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Brigadier General AA Jidda, Acting Commander Corps of Supply and Transport, Brigadier General LF Abdullahi, Acting Commander, Nigerian Army Education Corps, Brigadier General SO Olabanji, Commander 2 Brigade, Brigadier General F Yahaya, Commander, 4 Brigade, Brigadier General MSA Aliyu, Commander 21 Brigade and Colonel R Abubakar, Acting Director Defence Information, as well as Colonel SB Kumapayi, as Commander 7 Division Garrison, amongst others.

The 2nd edition of Igbo Worldwide Festival of Arts and Culture held in the United States of America earlier this week.

The funeral arrangements of the mother of veteran actress, Joke Silva, who died on July 19th at the age of 89 has been announced. The burial rites announcement signed by Joke Silva's sister Chief (Mrs)Taiwo Taiwo will kick off with a Christian Wake today, Wednesday 29th July from 6pm-8pm at the City Hall. She will be laid to rest on Thursday 30th July after a funeral service at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Lagos. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Amen.

As the wife of Nigeria's Senate president and former Kwara state First Lady, Mrs Toyin Saraki, answered EFCC's invitation, she was escorted to the anti-graft agency's office by five senators and 20 House of Reps members, including the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Ali Ahmad.

The senators included Dino Maleye, Peter Nwaobosi, Abdul Abubakar, Binta Mashin and Isa Misau. They all arrived EFCC headquarters at 12.30 pm where Mrs Saraki was grilled by EFCC officials over alleged fraud charges for almost six hours before she was finally released to go home. She's expected back there today by 10am.

Mrs Saraki later released a statement via her private secretary Hakeem Olagoje, saying she was very ready and willing to cooperate fully with the EFCC on the investigation.


"As a citizen with the utmost respect for the highest standards of transparency and democratic accountability, Mrs. Toyin Saraki visited the EFCC today as per their invitation. Mrs. Saraki made herself available to assist the commission wholeheartedly with any lawful enquiry they may have. Following today’s visit, Mrs Saraki will continue to cooperate fully with the EFCC and hopes for a prompt and positive resolution in satisfaction of this enquiry.”

“Having placed an emphasis on the importance of accountability, transparency and diligent reporting, Mrs. Saraki maintains that she has always operated within the law and to the highest standards of global compliance in all of her activities.

“Mrs. Saraki reaffirmed her willingness to assist the EFCC and expects that the spirit of this enquiry will follow the global standards and principles of open democracy, transparency and impartially that the EFCC and other similar organisations around the world are founded upon.

“Mrs. Saraki looks forward to drawing a line under the matter and continuing in her global advocacy on maternal, newborn and child health.”
