Motorize Bore hole diggers in the house... see jobs ooooo... give use price per meter of feets..

Geotech survey is very important too...

in Abuja... there are some Indian bore hole guys... they just ask you where you want the bore hole in your compound..
there price is fixed with casement... it ranges between 6k to 7k per meter.. they don't want to know if rock is inside or not.. they just dig...

Hoping to meet such guys in the south west

Simple logical questions though.

How can someone defraud you and still be reachable, available, tracabale, did not disappear. Post his pictures and address, numbers everywhere online..

Is the person a spirit that you can't arrest or sue to court?

Are you saying the person is so powerful that you can't deal with personally and you're a Nigerian?

Is the person so powerful that all the people he is said to have defrauded can't come together to persecute him legally?

Do you not have a strong case against him that can make him pay heavily?

Lets reason logically or am I the illogical person here?

Just thinking aloud.
I am also thinking along your line o....

if I have evidences against someone... best thing to do is to arrest him first and charge him to court..

once he is convicted... there won't be need for all these post...

Eyes will clear... and he himself won't try to come back to the platform..

N3xt... PLEASE IGNORE ALL THERE IRRELEVANT ACCUSATION...
Stay focus...

Until you are proven guilty...

I stand with you in this .. Even though we had our own argument earlier ( Use of Hammerglass)...

I accept proffessional argument but not blackmail...

@nero2424

Since you won’t dig, let me help you here. I pray you have time to go through though.

Here’s the chronology of event:

I shared a post on climate consultant. https://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything/2053#99923263

A COREN certified structural consultant brought up issues of all glass building not good for Nigeria undecided
https://www.nairaland.com/post/99924104

I gave an example of an all glass commercial building in Ibadan that’s almost 3 decades old
https://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything/2053#99925346

The NSE certified guru established we need glass building in area that’s not prone to security breach.
https://www.nairaland.com/post/99949120

I shared info about hammerglass as a solution for those who want to explore.
https://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything/2054#99949313

I shared info about other security glass designs.
https://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything/2054#99950039

MNSE guru asked if glass shops where cement are sold can be built in Ikorodu round about.... grin grin

I shared picture of an old shop that was converted into a modern shop with glass facade.

NERO2424 asked if I’ve visited the old shops to know if break in happened.

I told him the shops are on the road I drive daily grin grin

Now you’re looking for the address of the house in the ghetto that’s all glass....

And so on...!
@n3xt...
I just want you to know we the proffessionals will always tell you the truth.. We have different view doesn't mean we should force our recommendations on another...

The ethics of the proffession is very clear... respect your other proffessional's view, either genuine or ingenuine to you...

But as proffessionals, if we see statement here that isn't generally true and misleading, we make our observations known without need for anyone to agree on not.

SolarConsultant:
Good morning Thread, it’s such an amazing time getting to learn a lot on this platform, this is to me more like a request to help in educating us about building roofs for the future of energy

Having been in the trenches of energy production from the sun, and by consistent study on the types of roof people use, I have actually observed they didn’t build with sun energy in mind, because of the slope, slants, geo-coordinates facing, and we should know well that the nearest future of energy generation for buildings is a sole or personal power generation, and the more we are critical about building to get the best energy from the sun the better and cheaper for every building or home, this is why most people spend a lot more than their friends, just because of no future mindedness of their roof as against generation of power from the sun.

I intended to help educate us on how to make the best out of roof styles and choices, before completing our buildings. This is really key, because generating power from the sun requires space, and most buildings don’t have ground space enough to cater for that, all they have is their roof, so why not take this as critical

Can I go ahead with this for the next few days, with detailed information and instructions before roofing buildings to make the best efficient use of it
GO AHEAD BRO... SOLAR ENERGY IS AN INTEREST FOR ALL.. EDUCATE US...

The shops were built on the road I drive daily.

How many of those civil unrest have we had in Nigeria in the past one decade?

I’ve not at any point here proposed an all glass shop. Having a large window on shops is almost the same as having a curtain wall in a duplex. You need to do all you can to protect yourself.

Until recently, we’ve all believed we need prison walls to secure us in Nigeria but today most people are doing dwarf and see-through fences.

In Nigeria, we know and understand that there’s always a problem for every solution.

What happened to having the glass properly secured with a roller shutter?

You can't be a Professional & you don't know to engage your clients, like you said “your relationship with clients is worst” isn't that awkward?

Well on the other hand «Jobs can actually find you, if your previous job is exceptional & very neat» ! But Most Times hunting for job is the way! (Through Ads, connection & other necessary means)

Finally love that your quote about @n3xt “More than a trained Marketer' he knows how to have positive discussions with his clients!” Perhaps the reason his clients will chose him over & over again! huh In this Modern Age 'Effective communication & Positive Engagements is Imperative!

Well, what do I know! After all Am Just a LEARNER. grin

The price of hammerglass won't allow a retail cement seller even think of building such in IKORODU road about.. the price of the hammerglass that will surround the shop is more than the cement stored inside..

Note.. Hammerglass are types of glass used at most entry of banks that rolls out..

The second issue of Proffessionals should also be a good marketer... You know better bro... Proffessionals won't compromise with client to loose their proffessional licence.. proffessional will always tell client the number of stories a foundation can carry.. But the trained marketer would even add more stories to such structure to maximise profit.. just an example..

The general truth is that... Real professionals decline to do small projects like Residential houses because of competition with them baba Latis... they involve themselves with big projects where them baba Latis won't even think to go near...

In conclusion.. I am a trained Proffessional with my B.Eng and Msc in civil engineering and structural engineering respectively.. I am NSE and Coren Certified. My problem with Oga next... is ... why specify such for rendering in Nigeria ... when even western word used normal tappered glasses..

I REST MY CASE ON THIS ISSUE....

the funny thing here is that ... i know some of my lecturers in school during my MSC structures days prefer to do things in the old ways... they want you to know the basics...like use your hands to draw out structural drawings that will take days when computer softwares can produce same in seconds..
Adaptation is key... but let us adopt the ones suitable for us as Nigerians taking all that is happening to us currently..

Thank God you just specified hammer glass.. i am happy you agreed how costly hammerglass is.

to the lay man, hammerglass are those glasses you see at entrances of banks that is hard to penetrate by robbers ...

OGA NEXT.... so you expect a full house to be covered with hammerglass when even as rich as banks are, designate it only at entry point...

this issue was well explained by HAJJ M and OGA SPIDDER880.... Some specified proposed hammer glass to be used on the windows which ended up not used because of cost on just windows...

now you want hammer glass to be used as rendering...

bros... safety and cost are very important in architectural/Engineering design... the truth is there to see..

Is it that building a storey building with glass in Nigeria is bad due to insecurity or that building with glass without enough security to protect the glass part is bad?
..

Both statement above means the same thing to me...

If you building a storey building with glass rendering, it should be done in area with enough security like an estate where hoodlums don't exist... because only glass rendering is just like easy access for Intruders...

this explains why we introduce metal burglary proofs in our glass windows in typical houses..

Designing sustainable building is not just about the structural design but everything else including the materials used for the building.

If you find yourself relying on artificial lighting, then you’ll have a higher energy cost.

We actually discussed what you said here “Structural Engineers already for see wind load in their design according to the wind speed in the area..” in the class. Many architects and designers feels the backend stuffs are process that the client do not need to know about and we were encouraged to use datas to show our clients why certain decisions are made in our designs.

Security is no issue bro. There are thousands of smart solutions out there to explore.
I love this quote from the class “Buildings are the problem but they are also the solution.”
Naija is not an exception, let’s stop making naija look like it’s another planet grin grin my honorable Oga.
If you don’t know it, Broking House is in Ibadan for almost 4 decades and nothing has happened to it. It’s an ALL glass building.

The world is constantly evolving and interestingly we are going to keep building, if we are going to keep building with the same strategies and materials, how do we know ensure we are designing buildings that’ll respond to ever changing climatic conditions.

_____

I have atrium designed in my current build not because I just wanted to have fun but improve indoor health - least emission, indoor plants etc

Naija building industry is filled with people who just want to take in (stone-coated roof, pop ceiling, spanish tiles, concrete flooring, upvc windows etc) and not to give back. Yet we wonder why we die.

PROFESSIONALLY I WOULD HAVE FINE YOU PROFFESIONALLY FOR YOUR STATEMENT ABOVE THAT "BROKING HOUSE IBADAN IS MADE OF GLASS"
* READ UP.. TYPES OF RENDERING OF TALL BUILDINGS.
THE TWO POINT I RAISED WAS
1, STRUCTURAL INTERGRITY OF A BUILDING SUBJECTED TO WIND LOAD WHICH HAE BEEN TAKING CARE OF ALREADY BY THE ENGINEER DESIGNING... SO BRING IN WEATHER CONSULTANT EXPERT YOU INTRODUCING IN YOUR WORKSHOP YOU ATTENDING IF OF NO USE IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION.

2, DUE TO SECURITY CHANLLEGES IN THE COUNTRY, I SAID USING OF BREAKABLE GLASS FOR BUILDING LIKE A STOREY BUILDING IS NOT ADVISABLE.. BECAUSE IT WILL BE EASY ACCESS FOR INTRUDERS IN NIGERIA.. DO ME ONE FAVOR, BUILD A GLASS SHOP IN IKORODU ROUND ABOUT FILLED WITH CEMENT.. I BET YOU.,, 24 HOURS IS TOO MUCH FOR IT TO BE VANDALISED BY HOODLUMS THAT NIGERIA GOVT HAVE NO DATA BASE FOR.

NIGERIA IS A DEVELOPING NATION... ONE EXAMPLE IS.......THERE ARE SOME OLD BUILDINGS WITH WOODEN SLABS.. WHY HAVE WE ADANCED TO RCC SLABS... THESE ARE THE KIND OF QUESTION I EXPECT FROM YOU..

THAT A BUILDING HAS A GLASS RENDERING DOESNT SAY THE BUILDING IS MADE OF GLASS. SEE THE PICS WELL.. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE GLASS RENDING DID NOT START FROM THE FIRST 3 FLOORS.. ASK WHYhuhhuh??

STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS WORK IN BUILDING IS THE MOST ESSENTIAL IN REINFORCE CONCRETE STRUCTURES LIKE TALL BUILDINGS.. THERE IS CALLED "CORE"OF TALL RCD STRUCTURES. WITH THE CORE OF THE ABOVE BUILDING NOT PROPERLY DESIGNED BY A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER... THE FINISHING WORK OF USING GLASS IS OF NO USE....

OGA NEXT... I RESPECT YOU AS A CONTRACTOR WHICH YOU CLAIM.... BUT LEAVE THE PROFFESSIONALISM FOR THE PROFESSIONALS..

WE ALL NOTICED SOMETHING ON THIS TREND... THE PROFFESSIONAL ARE NOT REALLY GETTING JOBS... YOU KNOW WHY... WE ARE NOT TRAINED MARKETTERS... AND ALSO CANT TAKE NON SENSE FROM CLIENTS.. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLIENTS IS WORST... AND WE BELIEVE THE JOB WILL FIND US... WHICH IS AFFECTING MOST PROFFESSIONALS... NOT ALL

Here’s a great tool for architects, builders, designers and integrators to help you design sustainable buildings.

Climate Consultant

You could buy stone-coated roofing tiles and still live in discomfort. The dysfunctional construction industry had little or no idea about materials and elements and their effect on buildings. A lot of people see materials and designs in a basic way.

Climate consultant is an app that helps you generate datas/decisions that can help you clients avoid discomfort.

May I ask “How did you arrive at your decision to use gypsum as your ceiling covering?” “Your friend had it in his house” “It’s luxury and match your taste grin” or “The architect recommended it”

Have you heard about embodied carbon? How about operational carbon?

In today construction landscape, we have dysfunctional industry problem and bad materials problem. The latter is worse than the former.

We just do things irrationally “as the spirit led.”
