this is serious... firstly, check if the corner side is made of just blocks or pillar ...
if pillar, it can be amended easily... if is block... that is differential settlement...
Engage the service of an experience bricklayer... he will have to chisle out the crack and pour lean concrete to fill to brim...

Many thanks for the information being provided here.

Please can someone help with an estimated cost of a four bedroom flat bungalow with just 2 toilets -- need to compare with estimated cost received from an engineer. Below is the cost received from an engineer for foundation

Foundation

Blocks- 1500 - #225,000
Sand- 2 Trips- #56,000
Water- #10,000
Digging- #120,000
Granite- #75,000
43 bags of cement- #120,400

*TOTAL*= #666,490

Pegging 70k
Casting 130k.

Bosses in the house kindly assist to validate

To me as an engineer, there is need to see the floor plan to judge accurately if the quotation is ok or not.. But with my little experience without seeing the floor plan;

The quotation is ok ... the quotation is coming obviously from an experienced brick layer.

Note the following,

1, I dont see German floor being done with above quotation..

2, Two trip of sand (56k) won't be enough to do the concrete foundation blinding and shocking of foundation blocks

3, Cement (43bags) won't be enough judging from the amount of blocks needed.

My advice.. stay on site and see how the material bought for you is been used.... so if there is need to buy more.. you won't feel the brick layer cheat you...

SOS! I bought brimix shower heads and they were installed by the plumber for my new home in September.Now they are not working.All 3 rooms,the overhead water tank height is ok.what can possibly be wrong? Pictures are not attaching.

what I always advice clients in your situation is to remove all fitting like the brimix shower head, fitters and all new model tap heads first.. see the pressure of water yourself by controlling it from the main tap after the tank..

observe two things... leakage and pressure...

once you are satisfied with the two above... all fitting problems can be easily diagnosed.

25 to 28ft is for a storey building depending on the height of the building. Anything above 15ft and the stand will be taller than the building and as such it will look abnormal.

No welder sef will want to waste materials like that unless of course you bring the money and willing to spend it

Good evening my people, I will like to use a few minutes of our time to to review a product from one of us here. Michlins has sent me a complete door fabricated from imported steel plates and pipes, which he intends to mass produce for the use of members here who will need the doors. I collected the door after delays occasioned by my schedule, and had the door reviewed to ascertain its quality.

This door is well constructed, the welding work is very good, the key locks very well, the alignment of the door and general fit is among the best in its class, I especially like the smooth finish, the colour combination he was able to achieve with the door, and I am sure he can change the colour design to any other colour the client or customer will need.

The hinge of this door is good, and I know that this hinge is what is obtainable in most welding shops in Nigeria, but I advice that the hinge be changed in subsequent orders. I am looking forward to patronizing him in my next project, I look forward to a good deal from him and will report the results of our dealings here for all to see. Thanks all.

My Engr. said the least he can collect from me is 10%. He is highly experienced and very good in the field, he built my home country house for me around 2016 and the building is fantastic. In short he is very good and has many projects(private and government) he is handling currently.

He has worked with you before and you already knows his expertise. like you said also, he has many project at hand,.. he has classed you accordingly.. that is why he requesting for 10%.

But to me. 7.5% is ok...
the decision is yours... or tell him to recommend a colleague of his that can collect less..

For, me I am a federal civil servant... my catchment area is restricted to Kaduna, Zaria..

As a registered Engineer, we use total sum and source of project to determine Engineer's cost..

Total Sum of project Less than 50million and Private owned, can be percentaged at 2.5%


Total Sum of project Less than 50million and govt own /big multinational company, can be percentaged at 5%


Total Sum of project more than 50million and Private owned, can be percentaged at 5%


Total Sum of project more than 50million and govt own/ private big multinational company owned, can be percentaged at 7.5%..


lastly.. kobokobo stages supervision... 1 to 2%

wait till it dry season... let the mix be more or cement...
