MTN Nigeria, Naij.com, and Opera Software are offering phone subscribers one million days of free mobile internet through Opera’s sponsored web pass which allows operators to package their data in a user-friendly way.
MTN users will be able to activate their free day of internet by going to webpass.opera.com using Opera Mini on the MTN network to access 40,000 passes daily.
What do you need to get started? It is easy! Just get an MTN sim card with Mobile Data on Android device. Go to opera mini browser and enjoy free surfing with Naij.com.
At the click of a button, users can get online and explore what the mobile internet has to offer.
The country group head at Naij.com, Goke Olaegbe, who spoke on the development, said: “As a company committed to providing engaging online content for Nigerians, we are thrilled to also provide them with a day of mobile internet.”
With over 20 million Opera Mini users in Nigeria, 60 million MTN subscribers and more than 12 million monthly Naij.com readers, the collaboration is a unique opportunity to bring mobile users online for the first time.
The vice president, Africa for Opera Software, Richard Monday, said that whilst Nigeria’s mobile penetration is rapidly expanding, mobile data usage is still low at around 38 per cent.

PoliticsOpen Letter To Gej.where Are You Sir? by michaelou(op): 6:00pm On Jun 15, 2015
# GEJ Since you left####
Hello sir,
Our dearest hero, we have not forgotten that you told us that no blood of a Nigerian is worth your ambition , a word you totally kept, even when you had all the powers and evidence to annul the elections but you did not, even when your supporters like Elder Orubebe saw some of these injustice and tried to raised an alarm.
Dear sir looking at what is happening in Burundi, Syria, Zimbabwe we have a cause to say that you are truly a Hero.
Anyways since you left, from my observation I have this to tell you.
1) boko haram is killing people every day since 29th may 2015
2). Buhari is now inviting near by countries to come and help in the fight against boko haram the same moves that Liar Muhammad, APC and Buhari criticized you for doing, hmmmmmm
2) Our new president has not announce his cabinet after weeks of coming into office, which shows he was not ready.
3). He promise to publicly declare his asset till now we have not seen any of such declaration.
4). The man is busy traveling from post to post, wondering when he will sit down and start working.
5). One of the former governor that your government was trying to probe has been set free.
6). Our football team has been loosing out in almost all the tournament, this is the more reason we miss your goodluck.
7). We have witness a whole number of tankers explosion I don't know if APC is bad omen, or God is repaying those tanker drivers who succumbed to APC and went on the heart breaking strike few days to your handing over.
cool. They have not started paying me my 5000 yet as a graduate, Dollars have not equals 1 naira yet, they have not stabilize the world oil price yet, my younger one have not started eating launch yet, the economy has not change yet but am still watching them.
9). My hero sir, as am talking to you now last week we were mocked at as our president created a new country in Europe and call it ''west Germany'' and called the president of the country Mikel. The same thing they use to make jest of our first lady.
10). Less I forget, we were promised there won't be office of the first lady but we are seeing a different thing now.
11). last week APC failed the acid test and were exposed for the whole world to see that they can never pass through what PDP pass through and still exist, they have been exchanging blows since Saraki and Dagora emerged as leaders of the Parliament against their illegal anointed candidate.
My hero there is still more, but let me save that for another day.
As I am sending this now I can't tell how hard they will attack me for this peace of truth. President Jonathan we miss your Goodluck.

NYSCRe: The Plight Of NYSC Members In Abuja by michaelou(m): 8:28am On Dec 27, 2014
TEZT:
I am a corp member serving in one of the ministry of works in Abuja. The suffering that is been experienced by corp members is something that needs an urgent attention. It starts after the camp when you will be posted to a ministry or a government parastatals and you will be rejected while corp members that are been posted to other places that they find not favourable to them collect rejection letter and had to come to the ministry that has been rejecting corp members only to be accepted all because he/she knows the perm sec or one of the directors and the rejected corp member will now have to be searching everywhere to get a place to serve which take more that 2 to 3 months after camp sometimes as if you one is looking for a job. The most annoying part of it is that Ministries or organisations that are paying corpers very well will never accept corpers on neutral ground or else you already have an in house person to "runz" it for you.
To really survive most times, some of the female corp members had to sleep around with senior staff to get some cash to keep themselves up and the male also cleaning the staff "shoes" to get peanuts to survive and some even go as far as following the female corpers around to buy them lunch which might be their last meal for the day.

As for me in the ministry where i'm serving as a batch B corp member, we have not been giving a dime from the ministry since inception of service with them and it was even so worse for them that they can't give us anything for christmas package and the N19800 from NYSC will not come until 9-11th of the next month.

Even my friends that are been posted to other states are actually having a nice time where they are and the funniest part of it is that when friend learnt that you are been posted to the FCT, they will be hailing you that you "don hammer".

My questions now are:-

1. While will a federal government agency will be rejecting an NYSC corp member which also is a Federal government project?

2. Must we know someone in one of the ministries to be able to serve our father's land now?

3. How do they want us to survive without any form of inducement to corp members from some of these ministries?
some are lucky nd some aint?

FashionSkull Designs On Clothes. Good Or Bad? by michaelou(op): 9:37am On Dec 23, 2014
Fashion is a constantly-changing field filled with colors, designs, and ideas. New ideas are created almost every day, yet some traditions and established ideas remain strong even as the years pass. And when it comes to fashion design, one of the lasting images is the skull. What is the history of the use of the skull in fashion? What makes it so appealing, and what allowed it to stay relevant for such a very long time? The first thing that makes the skull such a compelling image is the numerous and deep meanings associated with it. Seen in just about anything from media products to artwork, it’s easy to say that the skull has universal appeal. The first meaning associated with the skull is death. Usually combined with other death-related images such as tombs and creatures from the afterlife, skulls are a lasting image of man’s mortality. The skull can also be a symbol of toughness and bravery. There are moments when situations resemble a life-and-death struggle. The use of a skull can be a powerful message of defiance in the face of adversity and risk. Lastly, skulls can also be a symbol of life. In the same way that it’s a death symbol due to its association with mortality, skulls can also mean the celebration of someone deceased or living each day the best way possible.
My point now is what's your take on this fashion trend? Good or bad?

Christianity EtcWhat You Need To Know About Isis. by michaelou(op): 7:37am On Sep 15, 2014
The Islamic State (IS; Arabic: الدولة الإسلامية‎ ad-Dawlah l-ʾIslāmiyyah), previously self-described as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL /ˈaɪsəl/; Arabic: الدولة الإسلامية في العراق والشام‎ also translated: Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS /ˈaɪsɪs/, with Arabic acronym: داعش Daʿesh)[a] is an unrecognized state and a Sunni jihadist group in the Middle East, active in Iraq and Syria. In its self-proclaimed status as a caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world[66] and aspires to bring most of the Muslim-inhabited regions of the world under its political control[67] beginning with territory in the Levant region which include Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Cyprus and part of southern Turkey.[68] It has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, and has been described by the United Nations and Western and Middle Eastern media as a terrorist group.[69] The United Nations and Amnesty International have accused the group of grave human rights abuses.

The Islamic State, still regularly described as ISIL, ISIS and Daʿesh, originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999. This group was the forerunner of Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn—later commonly known as al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI)—a group formed by Abu Musab Al Zarqawi in 2004 which took part in the Iraqi insurgency against American-led forces and their Iraqi allies following the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[68][70] During the 2003–2011 Iraq War, it joined other Sunni insurgent groups to form the Mujahideen Shura Council before adopting the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI /ˈaɪsɪ/).[70][71] At its height it enjoyed a significant presence in the Iraqi governorates of Al Anbar, Nineveh, Kirkuk, most of Salah ad Din, parts of Babil, Diyala and Baghdad, and claimed Baqubah as a capital city.[72][73][74][75] However, the violent attempts by the Islamic State of Iraq to govern its territory led to a backlash from Sunni Iraqis and other insurgent groups circa 2008, which helped to propel the Awakening movement and a temporary decline in the group.[70][76]

ISIS grew significantly under the leadership of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, gaining support in Iraq as a result of alleged economic and political discrimination against Iraqi Sunnis. Then, after entering the Syrian Civil War, it established a large presence in the Syrian governorates of Ar-Raqqah, Idlib, Deir ez-Zor and Aleppo.[77] In June 2014, it had at least 4,000 fighters in its ranks in Iraq.[78] It has claimed responsibility for attacks on government and military targets and for attacks that killed thousands of civilians.[79] In August 2014, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that the number of fighters in the group had increased to 50,000 in Syria and 30,000 in Iraq,[18] while the CIA estimated in September 2014 that in both countries it had between 20,000 and 31,500 fighters.[20] ISIS had close links to al-Qaeda until February 2014 when, after an eight-month power struggle, al-Qaeda cut all ties with the group, reportedly for its brutality and "notorious intractability".[80][81]

ISIS’s original aim was to establish a caliphate in the Sunni-majority regions of Iraq, and following its involvement in the Syrian Civil War this expanded to include controlling Sunni-majority areas of Syria.[82] A caliphate was proclaimed on 29 June 2014, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi—now known as Amir al-Mu'minin Caliph Ibrahim—was named as its caliph, and the group was renamed the Islamic State.[5]ISIS is a Sunni extremist group that follows al-Qaeda's hard-line ideology and adheres to global jihadist principles.[105][106] Like al-Qaeda and many other modern-day jihadist groups, ISIS emerged from the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, the world’s first Islamist group dating back to the late 1920s in Egypt.[107] ISIS follows an extreme anti-Western interpretation of Islam, promotes religious violence and regards those who do not agree with its interpretations as infidels or apostates. Concurrently, ISIS—now IS—aims to establish a Salafist-orientated Islamist state in Iraq, Syria and other parts of the Levant.[106]

ISIS's ideology originates in the branch of modern Islam that aims to return to the early days of Islam, rejecting later "innovations" in the religion which it believes corrupt its original spirit. It condemns later caliphates and the Ottoman Empire for deviating from what it calls pure Islam and hence has been attempting to establish its own caliphate.[108] However, some Sunni commentators, including Salafi and jihadi muftis such as Adnan al-Aroor and Abu Basir al-Tartusi, say that ISIS and related terrorist groups are not Sunnis, but modern-day Kharijites—Muslims who have stepped outside the mainstream of Islam—serving an imperial anti-Islamic agenda.[109][110][111][112] Other critics of ISIS's brand of Sunni Islam include Salafists who previously publicly supported jihadist groups such as al-Qaeda, for example the Saudi government official Saleh Al-Fawzan who claims that ISIS is a creation of “Zionists, Crusaders and Safavids”, and the Jordanian-Palestinian writer Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi who was released from prison in Jordan in June 2014.[112]

Salafists such as ISIS believe that only a legitimate authority can undertake the leadership of jihad, and that the first priority over other areas of combat, such as fighting non-Muslim countries, is the purification of Islamic society. For example, when it comes to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, since ISIS regards the Palestinian Sunni group Hamas as apostates who have no legitimate authority to lead jihad, it regards fighting Hamas as the first step toward confrontation with Israel.[113][114]
