Religion / No Christian Is Untouchable by michaelwestern(m): 8:26am On Jun 11, 2022
While going through a thread where a pastor turned into a babalawo, a lot of Christians were saying that he was never saved or he was never a serious Christian. While I will admit that it's very strange for a pastor to transition directly into a babalowo, its not impossible. And I sincerely hope that he was not a matured Christian because if he was, then it might be impossible for him to get restored. Since he didn't just commit a sin but he denied Jesus. I think that's in Hebrew chapter 6.

It's funny that some Christians think that you can get to a stage where you can't fall. The only situation where that is true is if your mind is totally stayed on God. Apart from that, any Christian can fall no matter how long the person has been a Christian and how mightily God has used him/her. And usually it happens gradually. It might look like he just became a babàlawo suddenly but a battle has been going on his in mind for some time. Unfortunately, satan won the battle in his mind and hence his life.

Let just continue to take heed lest we fall. 1corinthians10:12

As a Christian, always ensure that no day goes by without you reading the Bible and praying in tongues. Your mind has to always be stayed on God. I pray that God will keep us all in perfect peace.

I Need to Meet Christ. In Person.

He has already revealed himself through the Bible, that should be enough. God wants you to worship him by faith. Don't be looking for visions or things that you can see or feel with your physical senses. Focus your energy on praying in tongues and studying the word of God. That's all you need to do to build relationship with God. Not that spiritual manifestations are bad, buy you shouldn't seek after them. Your faith should be built on the word of God.

The person will be forgiven, but must face the consequences of his/her acts....

This is wrong. All the punishment for sin has been placed on Jesus Christ. You don't have to be punished whether physically or spiritual anymore. Sometimes, you can't avoid man's punishment though but that has nothing to do with the forgiveness of God.

Religion / Re: What Pleases God? - Andrew Wommack by michaelwestern(m): 5:59pm On Jun 10, 2022
jiggaz:
During a Sunday morning service in St. Joseph, Missouri, a few years back, I asked the congregation how many of them really want to please God more than anything else. Every hand went up. Then I asked them, “How many of you think God is really pleased with you?” Out of at least 400 people, one 11-year-old boy and one 10-year-old girl raised their hands. That was all.

Very few believers actually believe that they are pleasing to God. Most feel some degree of forgiveness and maybe acceptance, but to think that the Lord is actually pleased with us is another matter. A person can choose to love you because of his or her own goodness, but to be pleased with you, they actually have to like your performance. Right?

With God, no one could ever be pleasing to Him based on performance. His standard is perfection, and no goodness on our part can ever compensate for our sins. We may please man with our actions, but “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). It takes the precious blood of Jesus to do that.

The way we receive the forgiveness that’s available through Jesus’ blood is by faith (Rom. 10:9-17). When we put our faith in Jesus as our Savior, we are pleasing God. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him.”
Faith comes from the heart (Rom. 10:10), and God looks on the heart — not the actions (1 Sam. 16:7). Of course, God sees our actions and will deal with us about them, but only because they are inseparably linked to our hearts (Prov. 23:7). It’s our hearts that really concern God, and faith in Him (trust, reliance) is what He is searching the heart for.

A person whose actions are not right but who trusts the Lord is more pleasing to God than an individual who is doing the right things but has no faith in God. It’s not a case of those who act the best will get accepted, and those who act the worst get rejected. That would put some of the followers of other religions ahead of many Christians, but that is not what the Bible teaches.

This is exactly the point Paul is making in Romans 11:6: “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” That’s old English for saying, “It’s one way or the other but not a combination of the two.” We’re either saved by God’s grace through what Jesus did for us, or we’re saved by what we do without Jesus, but not a combination of the two. The choice should be the obvious.

Elijah is an example of a great man who lived a holy life and didn’t earn God’s pleasure with his actions. He made some serious mistakes. He ran in the face of persecution and became so depressed over it that he asked the Lord to kill him (1 Kin. 19). The Lord gave him three direct commands in an audible voice (1 Kin. 19:15-16), and Elijah never did two of them (refer to my teaching entitled “Elijah’s Downfall?”). Most people would think God couldn’t have been pleased with Elijah, yet Elijah was translated.

Even though our heart conditions influence our actions, we all fail in our performance to some degree. Elijah did. If God used performance as the basis of whether or not He was pleased with us, no one would ever pass the test. “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” (Ps. 130:3).

Satan used to accuse me and say, “What makes you think God will use you?” The truth is that none of us are perfect, we don’t deserve the blessings of God. Now I put my faith in Jesus. It’s hard for some people to accept this. It has been ingrained in us that if we aren’t holy, God won’t bless us. When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your goodness — He sees Jesus.

If you’re walking in faith, you use faith as the rate of exchange between you and God. God is pleased with you even though your actions don’t measure up. Your life may be a wreck, but God is still pleased with you. Our religion says that is hypocrisy. On the contrary, the worst sin is self-righteousness — the attitude that God owes it to you because you’ve been good.

The difficult thing is that there are no role models for grace. Your employer hires you based on performance. The parent-child relationship is based on performance, even though it shouldn’t be. When it comes to God, your performance can’t earn you anything. If you sin, you need a savior. It is your faith in Jesus that will grant you access to God.

Most people accept this level of grace when it pertains to salvation. However, some of you may think that after you’re born again, God expects you to pray and study; and if you don’t do these things, God won’t bless you. After you are born again, it doesn’t change! Colossians 2:6 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.” When we are born again, we come to Jesus just as we are. In fact, if a person has a lot of sin, it’s even more reason to come to Jesus. When it comes to being healed, it’s a different story with most Christians. They think if you haven’t read your Bible today or you had a fight on the way to church, it will keep you from being healed. That’s a double standard. That’s saying that the way you approach God after you’re born again is different. Your actions may not please God today, but you can be healed or delivered in spite of it.

Some of you may think I’m advocating sin. I’m not — your actions are important to you. Your holiness is important because it changes your heart toward God and not God’s heart toward you. Unholiness will hurt you. Even though God will love you just as much, you won’t love God as much. It will harden your heart toward God. It’s like eating. You must eat to stay alive, but eating is not life. If you miss one meal, will you die? If you constantly live in sin and never feed yourself spiritually, it will kill you. I am not saying you should ignore your actions. You will never do everything perfectly, but don’t let it keep you from receiving the blessings of God.

Luke 22 shows us an example of someone who had faith and pleased God. In verses 31 and 32 Jesus is talking to Peter before the crucifixion. “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” Peter did blow it tremendously. He denied the Lord three times. He cursed and blasphemed God, and yet Jesus prayed that his faith wouldn’t fail. Jesus’ prayers were always answered. Peter’s actions failed, but not his faith. If Peter hadn’t repented it would have killed him. He was restored to God and went on to become a pillar of the church.

Some of you may be thinking, This is great — I can live like the devil and still get what I want from God.” If you think that, I’d say you aren’t born again, because a Christian wants to please God. This word is for Christians who have a desire to serve God but who still sin. When that happens, you go on and catch up and stand there with confidence in your Savior. Your faith in Jesus pleases God. None of us get saved and head straight on the path to God. We bounce around, but we’re still heading in the general direction.

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Eph. 1:6). You do please God through your faith in Jesus as your Savior, and you must perceive that you please Him.

According to science, in the human body, the nervous system is responsible for feeling pain.

The bible claims that sinners will suffer forever in the burning lake of fire. And that the body will rot while the soul faces judgement.

Now my questions are simple:

1. Does the soul have a nervous system which is an attribute of the physical being?

2. If not, how are we to register the pain of hell forever.

You just have to accept the Bible as it is. If the Bible says that people will be tormented in hell, then one way or the other it will happen.

I am not an atheist please. But I was just wondering what sin a year or 2 year old would have committed that prevented angels from keeping charge over his little children.

I did not purposely want to include the adults because a christian here (Dtrusthspeaker) will say that they are just church goers and that they are not true born again and that they must have done something to warrant their not being protected by God.

A man of God who was once a deep sinner has testified of how God made a bullet shot at him physically go back to who shot it. He was protected by a divine intervention but innocent children who probably have never even told a lie had to die just like that without no divine intervention. How please?

Contrary to what most people believe, God does not control everything that happens in the world nor does he allow it.

He has given everybody a free will and He doesn't interfere with people's free will. If a person exercises his/her freewill to kill you, God didn't make or allow him to kill you. I hope this helps you.

First, get born again if you are not yet born again. To be born again is to accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Saviour.

Second, receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit. He is the helper sent to help us. He will guide you to make the right choice.

Third - Be committed in your service to God in the local church you worship. The scripture says that we should seek his kingdom first and things we desire will be added.

Fourth - Have a stable job as a man. Marriage without money might crash. Besides, you should be responsible as a man.

Fifth - Decide on the kind of woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. But she must also be born again. Write down the qualities you want to see in her.

Sixth - Commit it to God in prayer and ask God to direct your steps to meet such a woman.

Seventh - Make friends with godly people. It is in the cause of your interactions you will meet with your spouse.

Eight - When you see such a person, get closer and read her body language.

Nine - Get to know her better by asking questions.

Ten - If the affection you feel for her is strong and persist for a long time, tell her you want to start a relationship with her that could lead to marriage.

Eleven - Avoid sex as much as possible. It could ruin the relationship.

Twelve - Let your pastor and parents know about it. They will give you additional counsel.

I hope this tips were useful?

Thanks. You've been a great help. I don't know why people are afraid to share their experiences. Is it that no one has a good marriage?

You literally just made an agnostic's argument.

The only difference is you are still beholding to a Christian framework, so you make a set of logical leaps.

Why do you consider the bible to be God's words? A Muslim believes the same of his Qur'an, the Hindu believes the same of his vedas, so also was Krishna the incarnation to their true God.
So what standards or methods do we apply to distinguish who's book and claims are the real ones and which ones are made up and should be thrown out, since God and its will is outside the realm of our feeble minds?

Depends on your definition of God. If you see God as the uncreated supreme being, then there can only be one God that created every other thing. Do you agree?

God is a Spirit. You can only relate to God, spirit to Spirit by faith. The mistake a lot of people make is that they expect God to behave the way they want Him to behave.

The height of arrogance people have to expect the creator of the universe to think and act like them always amaze me. God cannot bend to Man's will rather it is man that should bend to God's will.

God's will is for man to relate to Him by faith and not by our physical senses and we just have to accept it like that.

I hope this helps.

1. There are no such things as Christian marriages to begin with since over 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ, in affirming God's judgement in Genesis 3 vs 16 against even marriage of men, declared that your marriages are of this world(unholy) and not of the Kingdom of God( Christian)- Luke 20 vs 34 - 36. undecided

2. Jesus Christ never taught His followers that divorce is sin so it is meaningless to pretend marriage a prison which you have to somehow endure pretending you do so for His sake. God allows divorce as an option for those who belong to Him. So what you believe of marriage is instead a lie. undecided

You make an even bigger mistake thinking you can honor God by doing that which is not of God in His name. undecided

3. God, in the beginning, defined marriage as an agreement between a man and woman, and it is simple as that. So it is expected you find for your own self a woman that is compatible with you in the way you desire, not in the way of others. Also of importance is the fact that since God's curse on marriage in Genesis 3 vs 16 is that of submission, should you desire Salvation from God's curse as offered by Jesus Christ, you refuse to bow to the curse of submission in marriage. Instead those who belong to Jesus Christ are equals and the only Head over each and everyone of them being Jesus Christ - Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10 undecided

No two marriages can be the same. All you need to have is understanding, the not-always-right mentality, and genuine love. When you have these, trust comes naturally.

Marriage is a beautiful thing. Stop looking for challenges and start training yourself on how to be able to surmount challenges.

More so, have you see the woman you want to marry?

I partially agree with you to some point. But when you become a Christian, your sin or corrupt nature in this case is changed and you now become a new creature. I agree with you in the respect that having a new creature does not stop you from being tempted by things of the flesh and it's very important to walk in the spirit like you rightly said.
