Osinbajo what are you? |
Dem don cook give you chop. Imagine taking her home and your dad and a brother and about two cousins don run things with her. Then three of your friends join |
Front page something. Hope you're going to eat it |
NexGlobal231:Google is your best option because the brand is not that popular around here |
Please who don buy iron within the week especially in the past two days. Every engineer should modify their quotation right now. Don't say I didn't tell you |
chidi4eze:budget 400,000. But if you go for galvanized pipes,it will be significantly cheaper. For 400,000 what you get is 4 by 2 H channel for the stand and same for the load bearing. 3 by 1½ for the poline. Then the basement should be casted with ¾" foundation rods by 3ft long. But if you have it sunk into the earth,it will cost around 280-320,000 depending on your location and your negotiating skills. Good luck |
And this is how it ended today. Tomorrow we go harder
|
More photos as we proceeded
|
So after that, work started proper on the front side. Here are the photos
|
And now, the gate has been turned and work started on the front. Second picture is welding of the joints at the front
|
Close up views of the welding. If you observe, there are two welding involved. The first welding was 4mm thick plate on the wrought iron frame. Reason for that is because the pipe can't withstand the intensity of the heat needed for the welding. Second welding was between the plate and the conjoining pin itself.
|
Actual welding of the conjoining pins. Initial welding was to hold them in place. The intensity of heat needed to weld them is very high cause you need to melt the two metals
|
Welding the conjoining pins. These stuff are what anchors the gate to the concrete casting
|
Completing work at the back of the gate. I intend to start working on the front designs before 10am today
|
And this is how we start this morning
|
BrickDevo:dog can serve two purposes. A pet and a good source of protein. Good morning and please check out my new job https://www.nairaland.com/6845828/lets-build-beautiful-gate

Betting isn't a poverty alleviation program or business venture. Go and grind it like we all do in the streets |
And in your mind, Buhari cares if South East burns |
Please how do we explain to our children all these borrowings without infrastructure to show for it |
Wait let me get something straight, even with the civil war, terrorism and political instability, Libya is able to increase her oil production. When you see a country that means business, you don't need to be told |
descarado:on top his own money and house you will NEVER step into or bathroom you will NEVER use. |
Chriswazo:unless you can afford 100,000 on a 3ft foreign door, this is by far a better option if done with the right wood |
If you obey the laws of physics and geography without cutting corners on quality of materials, you can build an Everest. The Egyptian pyramids and ancient palaces have stood for hundreds of years and thousands for some. They have survived some of the most brutal forces of nature such as tsunami and flooding. They have also survived generations of mankind and we're the most devastating force of nature. What man can not destroy does not exist |
paschal47:yes sir. It's in abundance around Awka. Coal is supposed to look pitch black |
spyder880:is this coal or soot Coal is supposed to be harder |
Mufuta, spyder880, somehow, invertedhammer I will appreciate it if you guys can join me in this journey. It's going to be short but resourceful experience |
By end of the day, I raised the gate from the ground. Leaving it on the ground isn't a good idea. Plan is to start working on the front design tomorrow having completed the welding job on the back
|
After framing the gate, moved on to welding the pan. Trust me this gate is very heavy and strong
|
After setting out the gate, I moved on to actual welding
|
This morning, work started earnestly
|
Due to the election and the restriction on movements around here, I couldn't start the job last week and that has placed me behind schedule as the delivery timeframe is two weeks. The materials arrived on Tuesday evening
