Oduamadi against Haiti. Forget that rubbish record doing the rounds in messed up Nigerian dailies, the last hattrick was in 2013

Well... Well.. Well ..

After a long silence since the world cup, Iwobi, Etebo, Kalu, Onyeakuru have finally given me something to smile about

Iwobi today was everything we wish either Mikel or Etebo was at the world Cup

Sleek and pin point defense splitting passes!!

Iwobi was the "connecting rod" between our Attack and midfield... You can take this statement to the bank any day.

If he had played these same AM ie Mikel's position against Croatia, they would have had their hands full

Boy's got eagle eyes for the final third ball

In him also I saw Ebere Eze...

Ebere Eze is a complete replica of Iwobi and should be draft in ASAP to deputize for him

In a nutshell, I think our team is getting there!!!

I say this because a new generation of sleeky, crisp and deadly players are being ushered into the SE while the era of those disjointed, and uncoordinated players are gradually being faded out.

In the past we had a Super eagles squad players who couldn't trap, control, coordinate or string one to two passes together but in this era we are beginning to have players who have seamless control of the ball.

I mean, look at Etebo, he rarely loses the ball whenever he gets it except he is fouled. His ball control is top notch... Same for ndidi

Ola aina eased himself into the game after the initial first half fidgeting, in the second half, I saw the reason why he is miles better than Shehu as a Full back. Dude was a beauty to watch with his movements and attacking runs

I hope these lads develop into the kind of players I pray for the SE going into the future....

Anyways

Its too early to call
Oga, those players that cannot trap the ball won an AFCON and got to the second round of the World Cup. You can say the team is improving but they are nowhwere near what we had before. Fact be say none of our current wingers today can bench Osaze back then, all of our strikers would not even be getting invites, I mean Joseph Akpala better pass some of them if not all. A fit Obasi Ogbuke is EASILY better than Samuel Kalu and Ahmed Musa, no be mouth. Those are players you are saying cannot trap a football, smh

Mike u just said it as it is. I dont know why some people dont see this Rohr boy for who he is. This guy is incompetent, clueless and too rigid. As bad as Keshi was, even with lesser talents at his disposal, he did better than this boy has ever done. Whenever I remember that loss to SA, I feel like strangling that man. Trust me, if that loss had happened under a local coach, the coach and his family would have been under a big threat from irate fans. Most guys in here cant see beyond his white skin, hence they adore him and are always willing to turn their behind for him to screw to feel good. Rubbish!!

No be vexing oo . Its the truth... Every Nigeria sport page I visit has fans complaining about Ighalo..
Its either that Ighalo juju is strong or Rohr is just incompetent, otherwise he would have been dropped from the starting XI since...

Somebody like Yakubu that was close to breaking Yekini record was exiled from the national team due to his miss against South Korea.. Dude went to Blackburn and was banging goal,he wasn't recalled... Obafemi Martins too was dropped due to his inactivity in front of goal, he went to the US and China and banged goals.. He wasn't recalled...

Why is Ighalo case now differenthuh
If a black man is doing this now we will cry Egunje, tribalist, favouritism. If a black man invites an inactive Kelechi Nwakali we will shout Egunje, Tribalist, Favoritism. If a black man invites Chidi Nwakali we will cry Egunje, Tribalist, favouritism. If a black man leads us to the kind of poor outing we had at the world cup our mouths will reach our cheeks as we scream for his immediate sack. If a black home loses at home to SA for the first time ever we will protest on the streets for his sack, but here since it is a white man we hear all forms of rubbish and nonsensical reasons, he is building and he has a core so he can't invite another player. He is trying to fix our AMF problems, he is trying to give us a youthful core, load of rubbish. Why didn't anyone think of youthful core when we murdered Oliseh for inviting Igboun? What happened to youthful core when we wanted to kill Sia1 for allegedly calling up his boys? So Keshi was not also trying to fix our DMF issues when he invited Gabriel Reuben? This our defeatist mindset is very very disturbing

save your breath please. So nacho was only average in one game and poor in the rest? Remove the garment of “bad belle” and say the truth for once.
I’m outtie
All these rubbish talk no dey tire una?? Throughout this season I have only made two comments on any of his matches, one I told him he needs to study Vardy to see what a Leicester striker should be doing which people still tagged hating until edi247 explained to the simple minded guys what I was saying which they still claimed I was hating but I was hiding behind constructive criticism grin then the next match I commented on was this match against Everton, not even because I wanted to comment on it but because someone said supporting Ighalo is mediocrity so I used it to point out that based on their previous matches Ighalo is ahead of him, when Iheanacho had an abysmal game against Seychelles did you see me here talking him down? There were a few other matches that I watched where he was still poor or if you are trying to be as nice as possible then you can tag that a 5/10 performance but did I bother to say anything? So if Iheanacho has a single good game I will leave everything, skip my call and come running just to shout that he has had a good game?? Good players have too many good games which in that case if you claim that you missed all his good games it would mean you are hating but how many good games has Iheanacho had this season?? The fact that we need to scratch our head to come up with five games that he has been above average this season(minis preseason) shows that it is scientifically possible that I have been busy with election details those five times (assuming you can name five matches oh). So this rubbish talk that I only come out to criticise his bad games is old and quite frankly, very very stupid

TheLoneCitizen:
If you noticed this much detail, you would have noticed that Iheanacho refused to get into the box when Vardy was there, meaning they are not a strike partnership. Furthermore, the whole team, except Chilwell, Ricardo and Ndidi, their big performers were AWOL. Everton pressed them so much, played them so much, attacked them so much that I forgot they were home.

Everton had 17 shots, 8 on target, Leicester, the home team had 8 shots in total. Don't scapegoat the brother.
What is a strike partnership? When we were small we used to call them 8 & 9, now that number 8 plays more like a midfielder. Do you see Messi and Suarez playing together as strike partners? You would notice that Messi, who is the 8, will drop into midfield but still be agile enough to run into the box to finish up the chances.

Now let us dissect that goal that Leicester scored. Iheanacho played a one two with Ricardo and instead of continuing his run he got tired midway and just decided to watch what Ricardo would do, that is in contrast to one of the goals Rooney scored during his Man U days, he had a give and go with Mani and sprinted all the way to the opposition box to tap home the return pass, this is case one. Then there was also the Vardy instance where Iheanacho got too tired to make a run into the box from so far out, there was another such instance, about two more actually but I cannot recall vividly well so I won't comment on them. Then there was an instance where Vardy crossed the ball and Iheanacho was the only one running into the box, it was intercepted by a defender anyways. Now if you look at all the isolated instances you would realise that those times he didn't run into the box was clearly because he didn't have enough speed and/or stamina to maintain his speed so I said he should work on his stamina, but then what used to be his main weakness(that is his first touch) appears to have been worked upon although a lot more is needed.

By the way the entire Leicester team is not my business, I am not their fan, I am concerned with the Nigerians there. If the players you mentioned all had good games then there is really no excuse for Nacho having a bad game. At least tick your own boxes so the blame won't come back to you

i won’t waved off your opinion but i think you should also come out from your hiding each time nacho put in a great shift at work (pitch). Acknowledging his good game also won’t kee you Bro. As for the bolded... stop supporting mediocrity.
Supporting mediocrity? I do not understand how I am supporting mediocrity here. So playing Iheanacho over Ighalo is a world class move? As in Ighalo is mediocre but Iheanacho is top class? I have made it very very clear that they way you all blindly support a player and then diss the other because you want that player to start is not fair at all. Based on national team form, both have been very very poor so what exactly is your reason for saying that Iheanacho should start over Ighalo? Or is it club form? Do you know how many goals Ighalo scored this past weekend? I said that based on Iheanacho's last match he shouldn't be starting ahead of Ighalo, also based on his own last match how is that mediocrity?

By the way I have watched five of Iheanacho's games this season and he was average in one then poor in the rest but even then I only commented on one match so I don't know where you are getting this idea that I comment on all hisbbad games, if I watch his good game then I sure will.

I am referring to when Vardy squared the ball. Gorgeous long ball by Ndidi btw.

Vardy was just not sharp enough he took to long to look for his shot and that gave the defended time to close in on him. I look at it as Nacho figured Vardy should score that ball.
As a striker sha you don't 'think' you just follow up, if there is a rebound you put it away, that is the work of a poacher, that could have been an easy goal for him but he stopped

It was not a lost cause it was a one on one that Vardy made a mess of. This was the same type of ball he gave Iheanacho in the last match and we didn't see Vardy in the picture because the expectation is a goal. The Iheanacho blame was to cover for Vardy and Maddison.
I am not sure we are referring to the same passage of play. Vardy missed a one on one in the first half yes, that one Iheanacho had no business there. But towards the end of that first half, it was just a hopeful ball forward which he got to and he was closer to the line of the 18 yard box than he was to the goalpost and the defender was clearly tight on him, in fact that he managed to get to the ball first to pull it back was rather commendable but Iheanacho had already stopped his run. He did it again in that same match BT the memory of that passage of play is hazy now

It is not new if you follow the history of Nigeria very well you will understand is one of the reason that leads to first coup in Nigeria. . There is more to Nigeria politics than what you are seeing and saying . Why do you think they allow Nigerians to be drenched in poverty? Now poverty capital of the world. Come 2030 Nigeria will be place where most poverty pple lived.

Cos poverty is one the tools in the hand of Nigeria politicians.

Their structure is not be for Betterment of citizens but for their own good...

If those people want to bring meaningful change, they should join the two most powerful party in Africa and wrestle the power with them. Or all the lesser presidential candidates should form an alliance select one person and form a formidable party that will be a third Force.

No be say I want bad mouth sha, but I actually made out time this past Saturday to watch Leicester vs Everton since my commitment to the forthcoming elections has greatly been reduced and quite frankly there were only two things Iheanacho did all 65mins that he was on the pitch; a pass to Vardy who was offside and that one-two with Ricardo which was converted more because of Ricardo's outstanding dribble. There was a skill that didn't come off, at the end I doubt he touched the ball up to 20 times and there was no surprise when he was subbed first, in fact there was an instance where Vardy chased a lost cause and got the ball back and then squared it back into the box thinking his strike partner kept up with him but Iheanacho had already gassed, I think he needs to work on his stamina too because at some point in the 50th minute his pressing was atrocious but then I think he has worked on his first touch because I can only remember his touch failing him three times for the entire 65mins he played. But based on that last match, Iheanacho should definitely not be benching Ighalo and/or Success. I would go with Success though

I was in a meeting yesterday afternoon(I no be pagan oh, elections are close at hand)when a friend who is a doctor from Abia State too called me to tell me that Enyimba is currently taking out the trash, I didn't believe him till I saw the match highlights, there is absolutely no reason why I won't fly down to Aba to watch that Semifinal, none at all. I was very impressed with the brand of football they showed, even when they were 2-1 up, a delicate lead going into the second half I thought they would fall back but no Sir, they kept at it, even at 3-1 I was impressed. All Enyimba needs is a progressive governor that likes Sport, I am not exactly extolling Ikpeazu's credentials as a governor but I think he has been trying in that aspect. If Abia warriors could also get a stadium, stake a claim among the big boys in Nigerian and African football then the economic development that will bring about would be enormous, first of all there will be constant development of talent, good stadia requite good roads for easy access and that will lead to road development and electricity will need to be supplied for efficient functioning of these stadia and that would improve the entire State. We could become the London of Nigeria, based on football though for now

Right now the truth is Nacho is neither a 9 or a 10. He is an SS and funny enough Leicester is probably the only decent epl team that still plays this (unless we want Nacho playing for relegation threatened team)

bolded@ what stops vardy you want nancho to emulate from converting those two clear cut chances?
you see nancho is a unique player of his own kind.
you can go emulate vardy but nancho is a class on its own even when it is not obvious yet for all to see.
vardy still has a lot to learn because if he was that good....he would have at least go break into the English first 11 easily or convert one of those 2 chances. all his time as an English player he was a backup so he is little above average.

it should be clear to you that the team play a negative foot ball mostly with little creativity from the midfield...when a team like arsenal, spurs can create more better goal scoring opportunities and still keep pressing unfortunately Leicester still playing kick and rush football in the epl
Actually Iheanacho too is playing second fiddle to Ighalo but okay.

The point is not about burying chances, I made it clear that Vardy is showing him how to play for Leicester. I never said Vardy is teaching Iheanacho how to score, you can only score if you play the right way, Vardy meanwhile has proven his goalscoring prowess anyways but I never at any point said Nacho should learn how to score from Vardy just how to play for Leicester. How this has anything to do with Vardy scoring today makes absolutely no sense to the common man

Errr.. Case 1: Take cassava it will CURE your conjunctivitis. Case 2: Let us pray it will help us have a successful surgery. Case 1 is what placebo is about but case is more like quasi-placebo but even if you call it that you won't be so wrong. Then your own case is the perfect placebo because you could possibly be given vitamin C and it would cure you of serious malaria, in fact it is possible your doctor tried something like that to see how you would respond to it and if it works he could use it to save your life at a later time, that's assuming you maintain the same doctor

You can seriously talk proper rubbish. Sometimes I wonder if you don't actually read or you just want to sound like that.

By the way the last EPL match that Iheanacho started Leicester didn't have a worthy chance of note and people said it was because the midfield didn't create much, today Vardy, in front of the same midfield had two good chances in the first 15minutes which underlines what I said that day that the midfield isnt the problem, just that they are used to playing with a Vardy type striker with his movements. This talk today is just to underline what I already said earlier, I could care leas about Vardy scoring one thousand goals the simple fact there is that his style of play suits Leicester and Iheanacho needs to learn that, how is that difficult to understand

Isn’t placebo psychological?
From what we know placebo is an end in itself. Let's say you tell someone to take a lot of cassava because they are suffering from conjunctivitis now that cassava has absolutely no effect on his eyes but because a doctor said so he might actually get cured, that's what placebo is...I believe. But this one is just psychologically getting the patient ready to receive the proper treatment which is just a means to an end which is why I said I am not totally sure I would call it placebo but even if you you wouldn't be totally wrong.

The concept of sacrifice originated with the Almighty God. The account of Abraham and his son Isaac spelled out the limit — What God permits. Even Jesus Christ sacrificed his human life for us all. Christianity is not a white religion as some may claim. Christianity is an extension of God’s chosen Israelites, which by his grace is now spiritual Israelites which accomodates people of all nations who would willingly accept Christ’s sacrifice. There have always been people who served other God’s right from time. But I understand, you are talking about something that has to do with placebo? ?
Errr, I wouldn't exactly call it placebo, it does have an efdct on your psychology which is at the end of the day important in any treatment. Sacrifice originated from God no doubt but even Jesus chose between staying back in heaven and dying for us and besides His death wasn't exactly similar to the sacrifices we learn about in ATR.

Yes Christianity is a modification of the Jewish way of life, every country is allowed to make one or two modifications to suit their own lifestyle which is why it is very funny when people start calling it the white man's religion

On Divide and Rule in the North, are you telling me you don't know the effect of "Divide and Rule" in the North?

Please thread members forgive us for this digression we are discussing all for the good of Nigeria.

Prio to 1939 all we had were the Northern and Southern Regions. By 1939 the Southern Region was broken into the West and East.

At Independence, in 1960 we still had 3 Regions: The North, West, and Eastern Regions.

Along with the the 1963 constitution came the creation of the Midwestern Region carved out of the already existing Western Region. Meanwhile the North still remained one strong unified entity.

In 1967, following the declaration of Biafra, Gen. Yakubu Gowon broke up the Eastern Region into 3. This act which is largely responsible for the crack in the defense of the Biafran Territory was one of the greatest blows Ojukwu received. The South Eastern State (today's Cross River and Akwa-Ibom) and Rivers state (Today's Rivers and Bayelsa) were caved out of the Eastern Region. Meanwhile Lagos was carved out of the Western Region as the Federal Capital Territory. Now to the North, this was when the seed of separation was Sown after the Region remained United since amalgamation, which leads to the answer to your question.

The day Gowon divided the North was the day the Northern Unity developed fractures. In 1967, we had 6 states created out of the old Northern Region: Northwestern, Kano, North Eastern, Kwara, Kaduna, Benue-Plateau, and North Eastern state. People from each of these States started to develop their own identity subsequently. The middle belt awareness started creeping in as people from Kwara and Benue-Plateau states recognized there separate identity from the Core North.

Today they find it more convenient saying they are from the middle belt than to say they are from the North.

Let me give u a live example of how this Gowon's 1967 divide and rule policy has affected the North today. One of my security guards. who is from Plateau state, broke a bottle to stab an Igbo man who came for some maintenance work. What transpired between them? In the words of my security man: " I don dey tell this man make him no dey call me Aboki again. I no be Hausa. I be "Amo" from Plateau state". I paused and thought. What is Amo? I quickly figured out it is an Ethnic nationality in Plateau state.

So my brother, you see the length to which a Northern minority can go to defend his not being an Hausa man? That is a seed of Divide and Rule created by General Yakubu Gowon in an attempt to break up the Powers of the Old Eastern Region.

Can we go back to football now please....
May I add also that what escalated the problem was the abolishment at some point of history as a core secondary school subject. Even under that divide and rule my dad would always tell me that his Port Harcourt friends could fight to defend their Igbo origin but then it got worse along the way. Note if you go to school every morning and your teacher reminds you that you were carved out from here then you will never forget your origin, but when you can only read it in your leisure time, which by the way we hardly have here in Nigeria, you will eventually lose track of where you are coming from. History is a funny thing because it can all so easily change to a myth and be totally forgotten and even grownups will forget where they are from

Africans have been scared silly of their own religion long before the white man came. Witches medicine men, evil forests, taboos, don't eat this, don't touch that, etc have made people live perpetually in fear for ages. Probably why it was easy for something more appealing to supplant it.
if you think eradicating ATR was easy then you are wrong. The human mind is channeled in such a way that anything that works becomes accepted, if you eat the leaf of a medicinal tree today and it works wonders for you you will come back, so also back in the days the gods used to work, or so it seemed, so everybody accepted it. Where the problem started from was when you see another one, the main God that wont ask you to kill your brother to become healthy again, first you may resist a little but at the end of the day you will be won over, especially if the said God now seems to have more powers than the ones looking for blood but the normal human mind is wired to resist sudden change so still it took time. A perfect example would be Chinua Achebe's duology especially Things Fall Apart, you will see how difficult it was even for the Osus' to join the new religion although they had nothing to lose

My ancestral village came iis heavily influenced by the emergence of fan Igbo Prince who was banished from an Onitsha Kingdom over 400 years ago.

That Prince and his immediate clan inter married settled in the land and there was fusion of people's. My great grand father explained to me that one section of my village was called the Igbo side. However, that was in the last century.

Things have moved on and we have moved from Usobo to Uhrobo, we may have partly originated from the Igbo that doesn't make us Igbo. There are a number of influences from the Bini and Ijaw tribes.

People's evolve they do not remain static.
In embryology we have three germ layers from which all other parts of the human body develop. Now this does not men that ERM...the dermis for example develops entirely from one germ cell, no it can develop from say the ectoderm and another type of cell say the mesenchyme but then nobody cares about the effect of the mesenchyne we say the dermis develops from the ectoderm(my knwolegde of embryology is no longer as good as it used to be but I still remember this part). So saying the Anioma people developed from an Igbo man yet they are not Igbo is totally wrong, your ancestor determines your origin, in fact if we establish that the Igbos are Jews (which I do not totally believe in because I am sure Abia people aren't exactly Jews because we have a lot of traditions in common with river areas like Edo and our languages are kinda similar too except it was caused by language contact which is what we were taught to believe though) then we can as well say that Aniomas are Jews since their own development too can be traced there. Nothing you said here justifies what you stated about "people from that part of the country"

However, doesn't Moses have ties to that part of the country? Shouldn't the team be more wary of Moses who allegedly has some contact with Benin? Or does his being UK-bred make him unAfrican?

The rest of your statement is laced with ignorance as well. Why do Africans always find the negative in their cultural and religious practices? So, because Senegalese players were practicing certain rituals that white people are exposed to, it is obviously juju and that is so bad? What is the difference between African Traditional Religion and the white man's Christianity? Why do black people look upon their own religious practices as evil and negative while the rituals done by the whites is not evil? The consecration of the body of Christ in the Catholic Church is a ritual, but nobody looks upon it as evil, the pouring of anointing oil on heads is a ritual, but nobody calls it 'diabolic', but an African man takes out some powder and a calabash and boom! He is diabolical.

I am sorry for you people and this warped sense of thinking. It is one of the great reasons why the black man will forever remain in the shadows, because h has no sense of self and has adopted that his ways and his culture are evil and whatever the white man does must be right.
Most of the things you said I will not dispute however I will dispute the fact about the African Traditional Religion. Perfect case scenario, I had an elderly patient showing rudimentary signs of cancer although it was detected in the slightly late stage but it was still treatable so during counselling to get her psychologically ready so her body would accept the treatment I asked her if she knew how to pray that I would give her time to pray that it works, she said she does not believe in my God, fine and good I thought she was an atheist or probably believes in nature or something(naturally I do not believe in the atheist concept, man is a spiritual being and consciously or unconsciously he must believe in something) so I asked her what she believed in that I wouldn't mind, she said she believed in her grandfather's god, I became extremely curious so I asked her what or how she thinks we can involve the said god since during counselling you are taught to always follow the line adopted by the patient except when it is dangerous to the person's wellbeing. So after spending almost an hour loosening her up, she finally told me that it would require a sacrifice but that the next appointment i fixed is too soon for her to have completed the sacrifice of which I asked her what the sacrifice was about and she finally said it may require a human sacrifice since the illness is a dangerous one. Now I want you to understand the various stages here, first I accepted her religion, its her life not mine. Then she said she wants to go and make a sacrifice I agreed I mean even the money you pay as tithe is a sacrifice so no big deal, but then it turns out that her own sacrifice is detrimental to another human, that is where the problem starts from. ATR believes that for life to be given one must be taken away that is why it cannot be supported, that is why it is problematic. So you want to believe that if a king dies we should bury 10 virgins with him? You may call that one custom but there was this philosopher that explained that custom and religion cannot be differentiated from each other, so all these bad customs of ours back in the days was squarely due to our religion, so you think killing of twins made sense? Or you think eating human flesh is cool? There is this tribe I read about, whenever they want to go to war their god demands that they call someone from the opposing village and the warriors will feast on his flesh, that is religion supporting cannibalism, even the white abolished cannibalism in their own part of the world.
