Did you watch at all? how many chances like you said did vardy had in the last home match?, is it not the more chances u get the more likely you score, your statement made it seem like vardy had goals, the coach brought him for tactical reason, may be to get at least a draw, albrighton is a more defensive than attacking.
I am trying to get your point and why exactly you are hitting on this last match. In the last match how many minutes did Vardy spend on the pitch? I am telling you that Vardy would have been a lot more effective in this game with pure pace, what concerns the last match? Or is it that you can't read what I have been typing or you have just decided to say what I do not understand?

Let me know if you actually watched the game. when Albrighton entered who pushed forward?

Oga talk true u didnt watch the match, and you didnt watch leicester last game either, Vardy didnt score any goal last game nor had an assist, but rather red carded, I watched todays game, kelechi dropped deeper, helped with defending a lot and initiated counters, two counter was halted by maddison and gray, he had to even drop to the wing and gave that cross resulting to a goal by gray who hasnt scored for leicester this year.
Pace is not all in football, Nacho had a good game today, we too like bad belle. I dont think vardy will play next game so coach will have to conserve his only remaining striker for next game.
When and where did I say Vardy scored in their last game or even made reference to their last game? I recommend you read properly before you type.

if Iheanacho did all these things you said then I guess the coach is a fool for subbing him for a winger who has at least some pace that can be used or why did he get the lowest rating according to Skysports abi them too get bad belle?

I saw the match, the ball brushed off him a little to reach monreal.
The main question is wouldn't it have reached Monreal with or without brushing his legs slightly? Let's assume Iwobi was a defender and Monreal was offside, would that slight touch have been enough to prevent the goal been ruled out for offside? If that's the case then I doubt that it's his assist but then they have given it to him, besides wasn't it Toure that once stole Nacho's goal or something

Did you watch the match? He was starved of service but still played a part in the first goal.
Starved of which service? It's clear the Leicester players were bent on releasing him over the top, for all the talk about Iheanacho having pace(some even said he is faster than Kayode) is a myth. He could hardly catch up with any ball, if it was Vardy he would have gotten at least one or two chances from those balls you thought were wayward today, when he was subbed I gnashed my teeth, knowing fully well that with this performance he won't be starting the next match. How many times did you see him joining the build up? I mean if you are not going to be playing off the shoulder of the defender then drop deep and create, nothing was going for him today though, even when I thought he was going to score that guy jumped in. Beginning of the season though make we just dey watch

And to the bolded, you mean 2014. Matches won earn you points. We only won 1 match in 2014 but this English team won 4 matches! Is that not enough to push them far?

In as much as I saw 1 or 2 players I felt Rohr ought to have dropped going forward, I still feel it is a fair list.

Positives are that the 4 New players injected are young players. It means Rohr is developing a team that has a sustainable structure. Echiejile is being replaced by a younger player in Jamilu Collins, Moses is replaced by another younger player in Samuel Kalu. Kelechi Nwakali joins the Midfield in place of soon to retire Mikel and Semi Ajayi we all know is an up and coming talent.

I dont know what others think, but I am perfectly satisfied with the 4 Newbies included.

Talking about the future. Yes you are right, there has always been a future that keeps shifting. Which is why I ask TheSuperNerd about '' The New Dawn'' he said is not here yet that we are getting closer to. He is yet to give me a response till date. smiley

Team building takes time. The French Team that won the WC didnt just get there over-night. Same with the Belgian, Croatian and English teams of today.

Lets give Rohr a chance and see how he will build this team. These AFCON qualifiers will surely determine a lot of things.
When you talk about good teams do not include that English team. They lost against all the decent opposition they faced bar none

No offence to you but this particular line of argument makes you sound like....let me just stop there though. But just know that apart from you, and one or two other fanboys, nobody else in their right senses would ever assume that Iheanacho, with a rating of < or = to 5 in that match was one of the reasons why we won that game. If that's the case then why was everybody bashing Etebo after that SA game, he ran a lot more than Iheanacho

I have constantly asked them to give a credible link where the Algerian coach said this. I mean the post match press conference because Own goal was the only website to credit him with the quote, the rest minor websites seem to copy and paste from own goal.
I say this because the owngoal peice looks reactionary and an attempt at damage limitation, after every other website, local and foreign gave kelechi 4-3/10 in that game, immediately after that, they quoted a journalist who told them in private Kelechi won that game for Nigeria, if you can't smell something fishy here, then you need to see your ENT doctor.
Have it at the back of your mind that kelechi is being represented by a top agency, they must have a few journalists in their payroll.

Before you hang the manager, have it at the back of your mind he may not have said this. I'm at least 80% certain of this.
Actually all along I thought the coach actually did say it, as in credibly but I browsed now and there is no credible source whatsoever to back that up which makes a lot more sense because no coach would say that really.

Nacho only trumps Ighalo at finishing. Because he can slip a final pass doesn't mean his link up play is superb.
Ighalo at his best is mobile and quick and of course can drop deep. Let's not forget that Ighalo too like Nacho thrives in a 2 striker formation, only difference is he can play the lone striker role better.
Oh and when I talk of holdup play, your mind seems to jump to the likes of Giroud, etc.
Suarez and Aguero both improved their hold up play after few seasons at epl. They can hold up play, beat a defender when necessary...something Nacho can't do at a consistent basis.
75 percent of Nacho's best games have been as a SS.
You are something oh.

You are arguing with someone who is busy bringing up a match against Aston villa. I mean that us faulty in all aspects. First of all this is Aston Villa, who even knows the names of those defenders there? I remember Ighalo having monster games against even Chelsea and Liverpool(he scored against Man U too) but then his go to game is against Aston Villa. sha let's say that's what he has. the second problem there is in what year did he actually play that match? Three years ago? I mean if we go by that wasn't it Ighalo that just scored a hattrick in the Chinese league? What's Iheanacho's most recent performance(s) in recent competitive games? This una argument no make sense just drop it

at least when moses was there we won afcon please remind me what trophy we won under osaze. moses missed most of our afcon qualifiers but no excuses we failed to qualify with him playing thrice. please remind me who was misses chances upandan against guinea when we failed to qualify for 2012 AFCON. isn't penalty taking a skill i hold osaze leg make e no take penalty

Lol west brom legend that they had to chase away from the club.

with vicmo we always qualified for world cup no guesses for who was one of the key players when we didn't qualify for 2006 world cup
Against Guinea no doubt we missed chances but we did score two goals and with a better GK we would have qualified. Please against Egypt didn't Moses miss chances too? I can remember two off the top of my head. Didn't he play but did we even manage a goal? Ask yourself that.

Nobody chased Osaze away from West Brom, the club didn't even want him to leave which was why he had to force a move, that tells you how valued he was at the club that they didn't want to let him go. Penalty taking isn't only about who does it best, seniority comes into play. I mean do you think Moses takes better penalties than Iheanacho? Abi you think Messi takes penalties better than Rakitic? Osaze played in a period with other top dogs, nobody was taking any penalty away from Yakubu.

Finally I can see you are just throwing around false stats, please how many games did Osaze play on the WCQ for 2006? He did not play the game we lost against Angola. it was towards the end of the tournament that he started getting game time as a sub

lol you are comparing an EPL and FA winner (who played a prominent part) to someone who played for relegation strugglers all his epl career?. yes vicmo scored for chelsea in the champions league against shaktar donetsk look it.

under the osaze era we grew comfortable calling our national team chickens. with moses respect and fear of the super eagles was restored. in 12 years the mighty osaze scored 10 goals in 63 appearances victor moses for half the period 12 in 37 appearances. osaze played well got a silver in olympics i guess sadiq is also better than moses for scoring 4 goals at the rio olympics. vicmo moses kills osaze on every comparison stat so like i said before you don't have to like the man but c'mon show him some respect
Well Lukaku has not won an EPL trophy now has he? Besides VicMo won the Epl and FA cup playing as a wingback, other than that he would have been on the bench. for the record when Odewingie finished as the highest goalscorer for WBA(twice by the way) they ended up 10 and 11th on the table, how is that relegation contenders? three positions up and they would have been on 7th going for the Europa league which is where VicMo will be playing this season. Or was it Stoke City that were relegation contenders? abi na Lille or Lokomotiv?

During that Osaze era everybody bar none alluded to the fact that Osaze performed better for the national team than he did for his club then. During that Osaze era he was not the primary penalty taker, take away Pks from MOSES, that would mean subtracting 4(Two against Ethiopia, one against Argentina and Poland) off the top of my head and that takes his total to what? Tell me the Pks Osaze played, if he was the primary penalty taker his records would have been way way higher than that.

Please, how is Sadiq a part of this conversation?

PS: Under the Osaze era we reached the last 16 of the world cup. Under VicMo's era we have failed to qualify for how many Afcons now? When Osaze was there you were sure of at least third spot in every AFCON, we were like Germany in Africa, now we can barely qualify. Osaze has more AFCON medals than Moses I hope you know?

You’ve made a good point. But truly the definition is customizable to a context. Because if we wan talk the real legends for the world of football, only few African National team players will make the cut, talk less of listing Nigerians. That word is a special word oh, but considering it’s been used for many players, there have to be some classification by grade.

Having said that, Ahmed Musa is a Super Eagles World Cup legend. Ikpeba is a Monaco legend. Kanu is an Arsenal/Ajax legend. Kanu is also an Olympic football legend, I can go on. But where will you put Moses?
Good point. Nigeria's World Cup legend I can agree with, not totally but to a certain degree.

I can't put Moses anywhere. Nobody at Wigan remembers Moses' name so he isn't a legend there. West Ham probably erased his loan move with them, same as Liverpool. At Chelsea did anyone notice that he didn't play their last match? Or is anyone bothered about the fact that a change to a four man back line is going to relegate him to the bench? He isn't a legend there either. Four years from now this 2018 World Cup will be considered a failure, will anyone even remember Moses' name or won't they just grade him as one of the players of the SE squad that flattered to deceive? If we remember that 2013 AFCON isn't it the heroics of Sunday MBA that we recall? Moses is not a legend in any way

victor will be missed but the emerging talent we have coming through should tide us over

you don't have to be a fan of the man but based on his records in the GWG he deserves huge accolades
Let us break it down.

VicMo 37 appearances . I am not sure there can be a legend who didn't even get up to 50 shirts but let's leave that one aside
Bar last season Moses has been a regular bench warmer in clubs like Stoke City and West Ham. Let's city check out Osaze. West Brom's best player/Highest goal scorer for two straight seasons. Three times winner of EPL player of the month. He was a starter at Lille+top French club), starter at Stoke, starter at Lokomotiv Moscow and virtually everywhere else he has played. Does VicMo have a champions league goal to his name? I would even argue that Osaze is a West Brom legend because he is either their first or second all time highest goalscorer in a single EPL season ( I do not know if anybody has broken the record). Do you think scoring 15 goals in a single EPL season is easy? Morata hasn't managed that for a far superior team and if VicMo tells his coach that he had a dream were he scored 15 league goals in a season his coach would probably tell him to go and get some malaria drugs. On a club level, Osaze trumps Moses in and out no doubt about that at all.

National team level, Osaze was instrumental in getting us to the Round of 16 in 2014, for all the rubbish we spewed here this current crop didn't make it out of their group and Moses scored a penalty. In 2010 Osaze was instrumental in the goal we scored against Greece too. In that 2014 world cup, Osaze put in one of the most defensively assured performance a winger could put in, thanks to his training under Mark Hughes at Stoke. In fact against France Osaze should have gotten us a penalty if not for bias. Let me just act as if VicMo didn't play at the 2014 WC to avoid embarrassment. In the 2018 WC bar the match against Argentina(a penalty by the way) and that assist against Iceland what else did he do? Nothing. At the end of the day that goal against Argentina didn't get us the point we needed to qualify so Osaze still edges him.

Maybe at the AFCON we would have a case for Moses still Osaze has more AFCON goals than he does.

On a side note as well Osaze's impact as we took silver at the 2008 Olympics cannot be overemphasized at all. so I do not understand how you think Moses is or has ever been a better player than Osaze

Arguably a Super Eagles legend on the back of World Cup performance alone.

Modified
He can hardly be forgotten so long as he holds that record. That’s legendary.
Personally I don't think any of the current SE players should be considered a legend. I mean we have missed three AFCONs and we are not even top of our AFCON group right about now.

To Musa specifically, AFCON 2013 he was a no-show. Yes he scored two goals at the WC but we lost that game, what does that make Osaze whose goals won us the game that actually qualified us for the second round? What about Kalu Uche who scored all our goals at the 2010 WC bar a penalty which till today I do not understand why Yakubu did not just give it to him. Are those guys legends too? Then he scored two goals against Iceland. I am not hitting on him but these are hardly legend worthy, you can say that he will be remembered but not as a legend. To make the point clearer I never watched Teslim Balogun but I knoenof him, true legend. some of these kids do not even know who Uche Okechukwu is although I grade him as one of our best defenders ever, to me he is a great player but not a legend, his name might eventually be forgotten.

The advantage medical schools in public universities have is the experience of the medical teaching staff. Private schools can’t beat that of course unless they employ expatriates.
All you need is a pace-setter, and other private schools will want to copy. We have so many public schools that have been in operation, and because they are government owned they are damned to struggle for many more years. However, with private school promotes better competition. That’s needed to raise the standard with time.
One question, please could you tell me how does UI curriculum differ from that of UNILAG for example? I’m not basing this discussion medical school alone. Of course you know medicine is only one course.
Nigeria's educational system is not well synchronized that is the problem. UI's curriculum differs from that of other schools, in fact it is very very difficult to see two schools in Nigeria with similar learning structures which makes you wonder what exactly the NMA is playing at. For example in some schools you have medical students writing mathematics in their premedical year and you are left wondering what business they have with mathematics. If all public universities can adopt a working model like UI has done and then eschew all these rubbish about tribalism and special cutoff marks for special people(which even UI has not managed to achieve) then trust me we can achieve anything. I don't even understand how this is an argument.

To your first point I disagree too. When we were in our preclinical classes going for anatomy lectures on dissection we had to use cadavers that were at least 20years old, no joke. Go to private universities and see state of the art equipments yet, no offence to anybody oh, they are still producing half baked doctors who we have to put up with during their residency. The problem with private universities is simple, it is profit oriented. If we can just provide these facilities to students in public universities trust me we wouldn't be here today. The simple point here is that private universities do not provide a proper psychological environment for learning to occur(not physical). As an illustration of the point, a female course mate of ours then failed so badly that what she got was a capital letter W after just our first MBBS but somehow she changed to Bowen abi na covenant and graduated with distinction in Anatomy and BCH same things she failed woefully and somehow you want me to believe that private universities will save anybody

Very untrue. You cannot generalize when it comes to private universities, take it from me. It’s not business as usual in every school. As it stands it’s private universities that would save Nigeria’s tertiary education. As ironic as that may sound, mark my words. I know a private university that graduates fully baked students ready for the REAL world. Many of these graduates who take up running businesses are doing fine. Solid education no be about read and pour out for exam. Take it from me.
I gave you an example, not exactly a general statement. I mean the dude was my course mate but he failed his MBBS and had to graduate in MCB and graduated with second class upper and that's how he got the lecturing job at Landmark. The problem is that lecturers there sef are not well paid, let me not start what we can't finish. By the way if private universities are going to be our saviour like you put it, then why aren't they there yet? See UI, just little investment and they broke into the top 1000 in the world, if the government could spend half as much as these private schools spend on infrastructure and all what not, trust me we would have at least 10 public universities in the top 500 at least. Forget the long talk, public universities with proper funding would easily save Nigeria's education system

How many of the large percentage of Nigerians can attend these private Universities? We are third world if we can even provide good drinking water for our people. Forget electric trains or high tech cities.

No power or good drinking water. What is the percentage of these good parts?
Forget this long talk about private universities. Almost all of them are not even up to any standard. The other day I was with a friend who is lecturing in Landmark and he said that immediately after every exam you will see parents coning around to tell you that they paid millions as tuition fee so their wards cannot fail and what choice do you have? So they create a false sense of academic excellence but even there the learning structure is worse than it is in public schools. I find it appalling that people will want to talk about good schools and add private universities.

then is it hospitals that we will talk about? make we just leave matter for Mathias
