Some here are already singing the 'he not technically savvy song'. Imagine if they were at the NFF, it would be same story as before but even now the outcry from the people through social media would make them think twice. Float or sink, Rohr should take us to the World Cup and even beyond. Stability and continuity is part of the building process. Sure he has his weaknesses but he's done better than most. Even Keshi(God rest his soul) in a group that was not as tough as the one Rohr braved through and qualified with a match to spare.
Haba. Keshi's qualification process was different na. Please do not start this argument again

below 26? grin officially yes but in terms of going forward abeg make tell ourselves the truth, some folks still believe that the very long stay of okocha never allow us reap the full benefits of a wilson oruma like we enjoyed kanu. Yobo made the last world cup out of sentiments to get his 100 caps and we all know this. forget what he was doing at norwich city. It was more about appearance and not performance. no thanks to oboabaona's injury, how many times did keshi play him during afcon? we need players who are hungry to perform and not just to appear. They are two different things. Thank God Yobo is history, was he not also part of the team that flopped in 2002 and 2010? abegi. all the players I mentioned, after this world cup the hunger will no longer be there so the earlier we ship them out the better for us. They have won afcon and made two world cups, so wetin remain!
should I reply or should I just laugh? Here is a guy that wants to collate points and pass on to NFF but you do not even believe the players' ages? The problem isn't the NFF, it's everybody.

Anyways Yobo played the first game of the Afcon and the second. I remember he came in against Ivory Coast and provided a calming influence and also the final so yeah he contributed

Even Babatunde was surprisingly good. But bottom line is that we should go with 90% of the current squad as we hope they'd be in form and fit.
I think it is up to the coach. Contrary to what most say, I do not believe that anybody 'deserves' anything, you earn it. Going by this 'player A deserves the slot' theory, Kayode and Tammy/Onuachu should go back to bed because they have done nothing to 'deserve' it.

Now we are still building not the finished article we want yet and one of the features of such a team is the picking and dropping of players. If I say this now people will say we already have a team(and 80-90%) of a squad then if I pinpoint the fact that we lost to South Africa they will come back again and say we are still building, double standards(you are guilty as well grin). So I believe we all have to acknowledge that we are still building, as at now any player can be the difference between a groupstage exit and a semifinal berth.

my guy it's all in the past, let's not loose sight of the discussion, what lessons can we learn from our past failures, e.g. Be careful with players close to retirement making the world cup list. This is where am afraid with the enyeama thing though am one of his biggest fans. Players getting close to retirement making our world cup list has not paid us at all including your beloved Yobo and the list goes on, rufai and yekini 2002 inclusive. I hope we won't start hearing calls for Obafemi martins and taiye taiwo soon.

This world cup should even be the last for players like musa, onazi, mikel, echeijile, omeruo if makes it and even moses if we say we want to improve our football in the long term.
There is nothing I won't hear. These guys are all below 26 and this is their last world cup?! Make I no talk.

I asked you who should be invited ahead of Yobo? Yobo was not the first choice CB, he was the backup and(except you know someone that deserved the spot more than him) he deserved the spot. He played the role to perfection at the Afcon as well.

No need debating it. Mikel was poor. He was like a shadow drifting across the middle field. He was not himself cos he was outstanding at the Afcon and confed. Even Moses was put in one corner at the World Cup . None of our players were outstanding except Enyeama.
Some were very very good though. Omeruo, Onazi, Osaze, Emenike(to a lesser degree), Oshaniwa as well as Musa.

2010 world cup? mikel was not there o, am sure you are referring to 2014 world cup. But for oboabona's injury, yobo had no business in the 2014 world cup, sentiments from Nigerians made him to be selected which is why we will continue to flop at the world cup if we are not cautious. hope you are also aware that moses was even poorer in that world cup than mikel. Even mikel's performance can be contested as the stats in the 2014 world cup even favoured mikel
let me ask you a simple question. Which CB should have been invited in place of Yobo and why

Mikel did not make 2010 WC due to injury.

Truly 2014 WC Mikel failed to carry d team due to lost of form and d team in general cannot make it to quarter final coz d team wasn't cohesive enough.

Honestly am always surprised anytime we blame our lost to d injury Onazi got during d match. It was glaring d team was struggling right from the first match against Iran,Bosnia match was a saving grace.

Mikel had a low performance but our lost against France wasn't Mikel fault. The two goals we conceded was due to individual errors.

The first error came through Enyeama, he went for a cross and missed d ball giving Pogba d opportunity to nod in.Enyeama doesn't need to come out and he was punished for it by Pogba, after d match Keshi blamed Enyeama.

The second goal was basically Yobo's fault,no pressure at all and Enyeama was already on d ground but on rushing Yobo just tapped d ball in.

Generally d team was poor,d coach,Defence, midfield, attacks. We didn't get it right and d players to carry d team failed woefully, players like Mikel,Emenike,Moses.
I will have to disagree, the team wasn't poor, the bench was. I think we can all now agree that Mikel was a shadow of himself that year, does it not baffle you that a team with a bad CMF still got to the round of 16?

If you sit down and watch all these games again you will understand. We were poor against Iran, however we scored a legal goal which was disallowed, the mark of champions is their ability to win even when playing in a bad way and that we could have done if not for the ref.

The match against Bosnia, we created the better chances and limited the Bosnian's to a maximum of 4 chances. We were not outrightly better but we were very very good.

The match against Argentina we lost due to Mikel(Safarigirl can come for my head now). First Rojo was Mikel's man for that corner and he lost his man, I remember tbaba blaming Omeruo for a similar mistake. I think it was also in that same match that Mikel missed a glorious chance as well, a team that matched the eventual finalists was not poor. I mean we performed better than the dutch and swiss did against Argentina, we lost due to a single error.

I know we may want to blame the team as a whole but the truth is that team was good, the bench was poor

you seem unable to do a comprehensive blame game without mentioning Mikel....oh, Mikel was the reason we failed to progress past Round of 16? Not Yobo that was abysmal and even dashed France a complimentary OG....let us blame Mikel.

Can't wait for next year so that you can blame Kelechi....at least Mikel will have someone to inherit the scapegoat tag from him
Was Mikel poor in that tournament or not? The question is why did we lose and he was a major reason. For God's sake he was the CMF, the central man in the middle who controls play and he was poor. Simple and short Mikel was poor in the 2014 World Cup.

Yobo had a solid game, I was impressed with his game, he played so well probably because that was his 100th appearance, he scored an OG but that does not mean he was the reason why we lost.

In reply to Sir Icon4s comment, I will start with 2002.

I don't really know what happened in 2002, against Sweden in the first half we were easily better, if I remember well we went ahead, we were ahead in the first half but somehow our defence collapsed. I think it was just the resignation of most of the players that even if they win, England and Argentina would still qualify. Let me stop there.

2010

grin Kaita.

1) POOR MAN-MANAGEMENT- I still think to this very day that Lars was the most tactically-astute manager we have ever had but his man-management skills were not so high. I mean Kaita's conduct was close to ridiculous and at some point in those games you would see some players playing entirely out of sync, not because of bad tactics but because they feel they are the boss. Yakubu was guilty, Obasi to a lesser degree.

2) INJURIES- Yakubu was never supposed to be the first choice striker, it was Uche but what happened happened and he wasn't part of the team. People only remember Kaita's incidence against Greece but even after Kaita was dismissed, we still created enough chances to win that game. Countless counters that Yakubu slowed down, he was running like he ate eba that morning. There was one miss, I can't remember how but Yakubu was one-on-one with the keeper, I mean the greek gk's position wasn't great, he should have scored but he hit it straight at the keeper, ok the ball bounced out to Obasi, hardly 6yards from the goal with the GK out and no defender in sight but Obasi just lost his cool and hit it straight away. The game against Argentina also had chances for us, the game against South Korea too. In fact against SK it was like Spain vs Albania, we were by far the better side, even Kanu had a solid game. One of their goals came from a set piece because we lost our two main leftbacks to injuries(INJURIES AGAIN) and we had to play Rabiu who was right-footed, so when the cross came in, he wanted to use his right instead of his left and the ball went past to the guy that scored, heartbreaking really.

3) LUCK- let's be honest, Yakubu has over a 100 Epl goals, he wouldn't have that much goals if he missed chances like that. I mean I can count the ones against Greece as missed chances but that baffling moment against South Korea still haunts my dream every now and then.

Finally I think some forces were at work. Like I pointed out we were better than South Korea, now that same South Korea were better than Uruguay and lost in extra time, if we go with it that way then we would have been far better than Uruguay and we would have defeated them, that would have set up a QF against Ghana in the first world cup on African soil. We met Ghana in the Afcon of that year and if not for incredible misses from Martins we would have won, we were better so that was a rematch I so much wanted to see but it all came crashing down when Yakubu missed. Had it been we managed to tie down Lars Largeback, we would have gotten to the semifinals in 2014, now on to the last one.

2014

grin Uchebo

1) TEAM SELECTION- When you have a bench that will easily lose to Lithuania in a world cup, sorry but you are not going anywhere. 23 man squad, we remove the first XI and on the bench we have the elders of my clan( Ameobi and Uchebo), a very very slow player(Reuben), one rookie that has no business in the world cup(Uzoenyi) and some other players that should not even be mentioned. Then you come into the first XI and you are baffled how Mikel managed to play all the games, he was the worst player in the world cup that year or atleast should easily make it into the tourney's worst XI. Babatunde was okay but could we have done better than Babatunde? YES. Till this very day I still do not understand what happened.

2) TOO MUCH PLAYER POWER- Mikel was the one telling our coach who to sub in, he probably also tells him what food to eat. Our players were busy requesting for money when we had a match to prosecute, the players were the owners of that team.

3) LUCK- let us be sincere, our first XI was solid, very very solid, some teams can go through a 7-game tourney without losing any player to injury and still win. We lost Babatunde to an injury and Moses stepped in, Babatunde was not missed. It was sheer hardluck that we lost Onazi of all people, I was wishing we lost Mikel not Onazi, these are the luck aspects of the game. The goal we conceeded was also a lucky goal. Enyeama would probably pluck that ball out of the sky 9times out of 10, unfortunately that day was the day he didn't and Yobo completed it with a trademark OG. We had luck too, we could have lost to Bosnia but we deserved the win though.

We should also point out here that the draw was no good to us. We could have met Switzerland but we ended up with France, a France team that scored the highest number of goals in the group stage.

I do not wish to say much about 1998 and 1994, I wasn't up to 10 for either tournament

Moses Simon: We Will Lift The Title
Gent Striker Moses Simon Eyes League Title After Losing Out On Ebony Shoe Award

Gent forward Moses Simon has put behind the disappointment of losing the Ebony Shoe award to French-Congolese forward Neesken Kebano of Charleroi.

The 19-year-old finished second ahead of another Congolese player, Chancel Mbemba, who plays for Anderlecht. But the agony of losing the award has being brush aside by the petit forward and he now has his sights fixed on the potential title deciding clash against Club Brugge.

"Sunday's game at Club Brugge is crucial. I feel it's more important than the other matches. We go to there to win. I am not dreaming about it, I believe we can win and lift the title," he told SL10.ng.

"Presently we have an 80% chance of lifting the trophy and we have to make it count.”

Simon is expected to fly directly to Germany after the game to join up with the Nigeria Under-20 team who are presently in camp ahead of the World Youth Championship in New Zealand.

Gent Place Hefty Price Tag On Simon

Gent Place 20 Million Euros Price Tag On Moses Simon

Gent have placed a hefty 20 million-pound price tag on their Nigeria wonder kid Simon Moses, according to manager Michael Louwagie.

While reacting to stories about Moses leaving the club in the summer, the manager admits a bid around what it cost Everton to price Marouane Fellaini will be good enough to tempt them into selling.

"Initially, I want to scare the clubs that way," said Louwagie to Nieuwsblad.

"But actually that amount is not excessive. The English teams won't be shock at that amount.

"Moreover Marouane Fellaini was sold for over twenty million, Why won't Moses be worth that amount?.

Simon has taken the league in Belgium by storm getting picked 6 times in the Belgium league team of the week in the ten games he has played since his move from AS Trencin of Slovakia.

Despite only joining the team in January, the 19-year-old has been nominated for the Ebony Shoe award given to the best player of Africa origin in the Belgium league.

His fine form has not gone unnoticed by Nigeria's national team selectors, as he was capped twice at senior level in Nigeria's last two friendly games against Uganda and South Africa.

Also he is among a list of 35 players who will battle it out for a spot in Nigeria's 21-man squad for the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand later this year.

Meanwhile I kinda disagree with your midfield trio of Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobi against Argentina. Is it Mikel or Ndidi that will keep track of Messi's midfield run? And you know it is going to be up to Ndidi to cover for the fullbacks that leaves Mikel alone in the middle against the trickery of Messi and Di Maria and Iwobi's defensive game isn't up to par. These are the issues I see with that midfield, against Spain too(and other teams that have roaming forward players) it will be difficult but against teams like Germany it can work

Haba Oga, so because your milk teeth is replaced by the permanent ones your teeth has disappeared? Technically speaking, the plates do not disappear, they fuse to form the solid bone that stops growth. The solid bone is still composed of them growth plates

The growth plates close and are replaced by solid bone. The scan is for the fusion of the bones and non-existence of the growth plate cartilage which is replaced by solid bone. This occurs at 17 years. This is what the scan is about.
you are now changing slowly, atleast you have acknowledged the fusion part, I understand you don't want to let go of your 'disappearance theory' so it won't seem as if you were wrong so let me end this argument there.

How did this argument start, I asked you if you have ever seen a person above 17 growing taller and you now said the MRI is not about growing tall etc. Now if the GROWTH plates fuse and become a solid plate, can the long bones still grow? How does a person's limbs grow if not through the long bones? Do you see what I am saying now?
