I was 9-years old in JSS1 as at 2003. I was 10 in JSS2 as at 2004. I had a classmate a year younger than me then, so, she was 8 in JSS1 as at 2003....she graduated secondary school in 2009 at 14...

You need to revisit these your beliefs. I still graduated secondary school in 2010 at 16, even as I had to repeat JSS2 because we moved.

Bear in mind, some people wrote WAEC in SS2 even back then, so they didn't spend six years in school.
.

Your friend's case was probably rare which was why you all knew about it, it happens. I am assuimg you grew up in the East, 15 or 16 I can and work with anyday but 14? Anyways

Not true. You also want to consider the mindset in that area.Where I grew up starting your kids early was like competition. And some of these kids will skip primary 6. In my sec school we had a special class who were ahead of their peers by one year. Considering these 3 ppportunies, quite a number graduated at 14.
did you grow up in the East? I mean guys from the East on this thread should come and say if I am saying the truth or not

Awoniyi was 16 in 2013. Most of the others were 17.
I thought you would understand what I meant by that. His extended family didn't like the idea of football and even when I saw his WAEC results I too told his cousin to go against it, coupled with the fact that he was sitting on the bench. God works in many ways I guess

My younger sister graduated secondary school in 2001, she was 14 and half. That is 10 years before 2011.

It was certainly more common in 2011 compared to 2001.

Under 17 was in 2013 not 2011... No way, he is 25. His declared age is most likely correct.

Most kids finish secondary school at 14-15-16 these days as long as they start early. 17 na old papa.
2011 was six years ago, these 14year olds are probably recent guys. Even Awoniyi who was very brilliant(yes I knew his cousin) graduated when he was 17, 14 was impossible back then

Sorry my bad about the mixup.

Still, someone who left secondary school in 2011 entered secondary school in 2005, back then school kids weren't as young as they are now, in fact it was impossible to say a 15year old graduate, 16 was rare. I mean I met that 2005 set before I left secondary school and I know some of them till now. Maybe there was a mixup somewhere

The Taye Taiwo story was a false rumor.

As regards Kelechi, He passed an MRI test which places his age at +/- 2 years with a 99% probability. Meaning he can't be more than 23. This is based on scientific evaluation.

Besides, Kelechi played for Nigeria under 13 and 15. This is Kelechi's picture in 2010.

www.nairaland.com/attachments/3798809_fbimg1464800873731_jpeg7dd0d95308e031f721938446e90e1e82

Besides, I have it on fairly reliable authority that Kelechi finished secondary school 2 years before under 17. Average age of finishing secondary school is 15-18 which puts him in the age -grade.
I am sure the actual school leaving age is 17/18 which means he was 19/20 in 2011 and I disagree since that would mean that he is 25 now, I disagree. At 25 he should be in his peak years, this Kelechi is not yet in his peak, maximum the guy is 23 or less.

Hmm

Na U Cme Measure Player Height Pass Wikipedia And Whoscored.com??
Fifa Index has his height as 185cm, transfermarket has his height as 184cm, remember that these are what we may call 'shoe height', like when you see players undergoing their medicals you will see that they will be wearing boots when they are measured, so these heights are at a difference of 1 or 2 from their actual height. I will take FIFA's height anyday, check Neymar's height on wikipedia and tell me it isn't absurd

and how do you know a 21-year old when you see one?

We have dealt with these ridiculous claims by your ilk numerous times that is why most people chose to ignore, but it's about time your nonsense claims got shot down.

If Kelechi is 27, that would be really sad because I have never seen a 27-year old man who acts so much like a kid as he does. This is someone that can comfortably play around with the likes of Iwobi and Awaziem, a truly 27-year old guy would not be so playful.

Kelechi was 5ft.11' as at 2013, but is currently 6ft.2", now if we are to believe this idiocy that he was 23 as at 2013, then explain the increase in height.

Even if Kelechi is not 21, I still maintain that he is no older than 23.

That is how people told us Mikel was 30 in 2005, somehow, he is still playing football 12 years later at the grand old age of 42.

Some weeks ago, someone said Ajiboye was married with kids as at 2007, thankfully, I have a roommate who knows his wife and they got married two years ago and have just one baby.

I have said times without number that you people who come online to defame these famous people deserve jail time if you cannot prove your claims

Kindly keep shut if you are just blabbing because you think you know what you obviously don't
not to dispute your claim about his age but Iheanacho is still 5'11, 184cm actually. I mean you know wetin be 6'2?!shocked Ronaldo is 6 and half, goalkeepers are 6'2, Iheanacho is 5'11 at best. How tall is Iwobi?

do you know that keshi played 3 DM against Iran....
prior the introduction of osaze in that match...the SE lack creativeness and mikel was a shadow of his former self...
you're lamenting we're hyping foreigners...
tell me which foreign coach will take the likes of Gabriel Reuben who could only manage 270 minutes for his club in full season to the world cup....likewise ameobi, uchebo etc....

keshi gulfed big time.... Bosnia team were not exceptional I understand they were the first European team to qualify that year..

thank God you said...you will take osaze ahead of Alex and Moses Simon....I doubt if anyone that have been watching football....will do that...

even in england osaze prior his departure to far away south Asia could not secure a move in lower division and here you downplaying a lad who could break into arsenal first team easily....

I cherish osaze when he was still playing for now...I agree his time is over...
likewise Martins and co....

young players deserve to be given a chance...
I remember last world cup...England benched the likes of lampard for sterling....
I remember...one of their legends...saying the goal should just be to develop and build themselves up for the next world cup and European nations cup...though necessarily they not gonna qualify out of the group stage...

that's partly the reason why their manager who was Liverpool manager was not sacked after their failure in last world cup...

and back to osaze and co issue...so you think could have been able to play the iwobi play presently when he was 20 years old
First of all Osaze played for Rotheram before he went to Indonesia, he scored there too and left because he wanted to leave, don't argue what you do not know.

Maybe you still do not understand. I said I will take Osaze as a RWF ahead of Iwobi and Moses Simon, if we talk about the AMF position I will not bring in Osaze. When Osaze was 20 he was a regular for Lokomotiv Moscow, a champions league regular then, despite starting from one club like that in Nigeria, Iwobi started from the academy. No need going further, this is not an Osaze vs Iwobi debate and shouldn't be, Osaze scored a minimum of 10goals in the Epl for like 4 seasons or 5, Iwobi's career total isn't even close.

Honestly, have you watched any of Osaze's games? I will pardon you because you do not bother to watch even highlights.

The same Iranian team held Argentina for 90minutes and I remember Enyeama making some saves in that game. I agree totally that Keshi's team selection generally was poor but his first eleven was spot on and his tactics for that Bosnia match was accurate, no need making a mockery of it just to praise Rohr

But mention one of such players that performed at ages close to or above 40 and I will mention 100 players that could no longer perform as from age 30.
maybe you are getting my entire point wrong.

Now let me ask you some questions- how many strikers should a team normally take to the world cup? To answer this question you will need to specify Iheanacho's position, if you believe he should be played as the SS/AMF(which he is currently playing for his club and most likely will be playing for us soon) then that means you will have to remove him from the 'strikers' position.

Then next question, how many good strikers do we have on ground right now

Ok like you pointed out, the sorry lot we have now cannot lead our attack in Russia, look left right and center we don't have anyother option. Tammy isn't coming, it is not written in any prophetic hall that Dessers will be a hit, even if he is a hit we still need to come to the world cup with 3-4 out and out strikers, so why not accept the tested and trusted guys? I will take the Liga2 ahead of the bottom half of the Belgian League, infact I can argue, after watching most of their games, tha Lugo will hold their own against Gent, so Ike Uche is not in a backwater league. Paulinho is still the corner stone of Brazil's brilliant world cup qualifying campaign...from the Chinese League!!! So much for the Chinese league being on par with the Championship

blueto:
If we don't have that “very clinical striker” now, then I suggest Ighalo should retain the spot because of his ability to create chances for others and trouble defenses unlike Nacho that mainly waits for “clear-cut” chances to pounce on which may not be very feasible against sturdy defenses in the world cup and becomes almost unseen when you have good defenders around him.

In the last world cup edition, how many goals did Emenike score? but when it came to putting defenses under pressure and creating chances, he was good. With Ighalo's recent performances, he as done better than Emenike in that aspect and also adding goals to his game. Yes, I will like the coach to make the role more competitive by bringing Dessers and others. But my point is, if the team is to play an important match now, with Ighalo and Iheanacho as the main options, it will be apt to start Ighalo ahead of Iheanacho and bring in Iheanacho later in the second half probably when Nigeria is leading. Then he can do his damages like he did against Cameroon because the Cameroonians were more offensive minded at that time he was on the pitch, thereby leaving their defenses more open for Iheanacho to score unlike it was in the first half were Ighalo had to put in much effort to get the first goal. Iheanacho has not been very good at getting goals when defensing is the top priority of the opponents, even when he was at man city, his goals mostly came when the opponent is already losing, thereby making their defenses more vulnerable as they are more concerned with attacking and equalizing.
No No No, Ighalo cannot do what Emenike was doing then. Do you think Ighalo could have created that Bosnia goal? For one he doesn't have the pace to even do something like that, he is not the type of striker that can go out in the wing thus allowing another unsighted player free reign in the 18yard box which was what Emenike brought to the party then.

Then let's take a cursory look at all the to strikers in the world right now-Suarez, Benzema, Lewandowski, Kane etc etc. All these guys have one thing in common, their ability to also drift away from the box and giving the two CBs a false sense of security allowing their other attacking teammates to score. If Kane does not drift from the middle Alli won't score two goals in a season, same for Suarez and Messi, Benzema/Ronaldo, Lewandowski/Muller(you can see here that Ancellotti disrupted that Lewandowski/Muller, sack letter). This is what worked for us at the last world cup, Emenike drifted away from the box and created a goal for Osaze, he drifted into the middle and created a goal for Musa, this is the type of striker we need as out starter not some kwatankwa striker like Ighalo, which is why I really hope and pray and wish that Iheanacho will check his development because in the present crop of guys he is the only one that can remotely do that. Tammy Abraham cannot do it and so I do not expect him to be a hit for any National Team he plays for.

Now that brings me to the two/three guys I have always been clamouring for. Martins, Ike Uche and Osaze. Now Martins and Uche are two strikers who can drift well, infact sometimes you would be left wondering if they are playing as the winger just like what David Villa used to do, no need telling you his achievements from such play and/or Suarez's achievements too. So me clamouring for Ike Uche or Martins isn't because they bagged some goals recently, I am looking at their style of play, Ighalo is the type of forward we should look for when we are chasing a game, never a starter. There is a reason why the Three Lions will still invite Defoe ahead of Tammy despite our show of interest, they are not stupid, they know Defoe drifts more than Tammy thus providing a whole lot more attacking dimension.

So please, next time I mention Uche or Martins, it is not because they bagged a couple of goals, it is because their style of play will provide a lot more than what we have now.

Cc Joebie, Humility, Icon4s, Kog45 these guys that always attack when they see these names take note

Nacho is still a valuable player, forget what's going on presently. how can you get rid of your highest goal scorer?
I thought VicMo is our highest goalscorer in the World Cup qualifiers? I know we haven't scored a goal in the AFCON qualifiers and I know Iheanacho is not our record goalscorer so where exactly is he the highest goalscorer?

KC will do well this season. First sign, Shakespeare OUT
Assuming the coach likes him that is.

Let me ask you, without sentiments that is, if the coach starts playing a 4-3-3 do you see Iheanacho starting? Gray has been wonderful, he will take the right side, Mahrez on the left and Nacho and Vardy and Okazaki and Slimani vying for the single slot up top

You should also consider that the opponents can influence ratings. The difference in their rating wasn't significant anyway. We want to look at their average rating after some number of games to really make a fare comparison.

I don't think the 5-3-2 is similar to the 3-4-3. Agu was at the center of a 3-man midfield. I'd like to think that he had more of an AM role, when the team was attacking. But well that's just my thinking. We can't exactly say unless we watched the actual match.

Modified
The formation is read from defense to attack. 5-3-2 means 5-man defense.
I actually watched the game. The wingbacks were more midfield-inclined which is why I called it a 3-4-3 and the opponents were second from the bottom(?) when the game started.

On the other hand people run down Omeruo a lot, for a defender in a losing team to chalk up 6.81 is no mean feat
