hmm! It depends on your perspectives or definition of a leader. Your aforementioned attributes suits the image of Nigerian pastors and politicians. Men like Winston Churchill, Stalin, Gorbachev, Ho chi mihn, the Romans(Marc Anthony and Julius Caesar) Fidel Castro, Ernesto Guevara and, the great Nazi trinity ( Hitler, Gorings and, Gobbels) are considered as some of the greatest orators in human history and they posses less than a percent of the listed characteristics.

You are lost.
It's a pity
You better leave these lost souls. Most are still very young. Probably in their very early 20s. Some haven't even clocked 20. Don't let the motherless vessels of agony spoil your mood. Every society must have its own failures and these ones are just part of the unfortunate statistics that made up the failures in Nigeria.

Ever wondered what it seems and feel like for a country to be in a state of war or battle readiness.Countries of the world do not just declare war on a perceived opponent as there are certain elements and conditions necessarily required for an all out war to take place.
Mostly used mostly in the United States, the Defence Readiness Conditions,or rather known as DEVCON,was a brainchild of the United States Armed Forces.Conceived by the Joint Chiefs of Staffs and the Unified and Specified Combatant Command,it deliberated on certain military defence levels necessary capable of matching various military scenarios.
Furthermore, its primary control and command lies within the grasp of the United State President and the Secretary of Defense through the chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staffs.
An example was the situation surrounding the Cuban missile crisis of 1962,which promptly brought an imminent nuclear face-off between the two most powerful nation on Earth. It was an encounter that almost led to a full blown nuclear war between the two countries.
Nubia Republic brings to you,the sequential arrangements of what has become probably the greatest military defense stratagems on Earth and its various levels are implemented in any eventuality.

1. DEFCON 5
First on our list is primarily, the least of all security levels. It is the lowest state of readiness or just normal readiness. At this point, the US Armed Forces minimally respond to intelligence reports gathered which suggest a level of threat to the United States and its allies.
Though, all is well at this stage but, there is a consciousnesses security wise which makes them a little geared up.

2. DEFCON 4

This is a military consciousness just above the normal. At this stage, the US government is active in terms of intelligence gathering on world political events and are on the lookout for activities that looks and sounds suspicious.
Nevertheless,it is still a level which warrants no panic. This stage has been reached several times before in the history of the United States.

3. DEFCON 3

Things become more interesting and critical at this level. There is an increase in force readiness which is above the required level for normal readiness such as DEFCON 4 and 5.
At this stage, the United States Air force is ready to mobilize within the space of 15 minutes. In other words, all available air-borne planes are put on alert.
An example of this was the “Yom Kippur War”,which was Israel declared itself as a state in 1973.
Following the eventual declaration,Egypt and Syria launched a combined assault on Israel on the 24 th of October ,1973.At this point in time, there were growing concerns about the possible involvement of the USSR in the war. This fear was eventually confirmed by the CIA when its intelligence report surfaced which indicated that the USSR had sent a nuclear-armed ship along with two other amphibious vessels to Egypt.
With this latest act by the Soviet, the US combined forces which included the Strategic Air Command(SAC),Continental Air Defence Command,European Command and,the US 6 th Fleet were all placed on DEFCON 3.
Another major conflict which prompted the immediate activation of DEFCON 3 was the September 11 attack on the United States.During this time of upheaval and uncertainty as to who would want the US brought down to rubles, coupled with the physical absence of the US President, who was by then in the safety confines of air-borne Air force 1 and and the Secret Service, the then Secretary of Defence,Donald Rumsfeld ordered the immediate activation of DEFCON 3 with a stand-by order for a possible upward move to DEFCON 2.
The Cuban missile crisis of 1962 should also be put into consideration. This happened immediately after the nationwide broadcast of the late President John F. Kennedy regarding the crisis between them, the USSR and,Cuba. The Armed forces was then ordered to DEFCON 3.

4. DEFCON 2
A very critical level,DEFCON 2 could be seen as an imminent step towards the declaration of nuclear war.It could also be seen as the next step to nuclear war.
The armed forces at this level are ready to deploy within the space of six hours. This stage is also a period where the US defense starts manhunts for potential terrorists and insurgents.
An example of this could be seen during the Cuban missile crisis which was mainly between the US,USSR and,Cuba. The US Strategic Air Command on the 24 th of October, was ordered to DEFCON 2.An important thing to note is that while only the Strategic Air Command was ordered to DEFCON 2,the rest of the US Armed Forces remained on DEFCON 3.
This level remains the highest military security level ever attained by the US Armed Forces and the United States as a whole.

DEFCON 1 ( World War III,Ragnarok ).

Seen as the most devastating level yet to be ever reached by the US Armed Forces. On activation of this level, the most destructive chaos is unleashed on the world in form of a nuclear clash.
The activation of this level requires maximum readiness on the part of the Armed Forces. This is to ensure that there is adequate retaliations and offenses in form of a nuclear showdown.
Also,we should put into consideration the military choice of weapon which comes with the activation of this level. With a robust and highly efficient nuclear arsenal possessed by the United States and an equally powerful enemy such as Russia, this epic battle would be nothing short of a Ragnarok, only that this time,it would not be between Einherjar on one side versus the forces of Surt,Loki and his children, but a very great battle of contemporary super powers such as the United States and its allies in form of Britain,Germany,France and Canada against the Asian powers of Russia,China,Turkey,Iran and,Syria bringing into effect World War 3 or better still,Armageddon.
Nevertheless, the World is counting on diplomacy to ensure we never get to witness a nuclear-powered judgment day, because with the choice of weapons,it may all just lead into an apocalypse with few or nothing left standing.Certainly,no survival would want to make a radioactively-charged nuclear wasteland home.

CelebritiesCelebrities Who Dropped-out Of University by mickeyenglish(op): 1:17pm On Jun 25, 2018
Over the years,Nigeria as a country has successfully churned out magnificent artistes,Music producers, and celebrities. These Artistes though, mostly originated from meek backgrounds and slums nevertheless, fought their way out of it and ascended up the ladder of greatness, while very few others who were brought forth into the world with the famous Silver spoons up in their mouth had things less complicated in the industry.Either ways, stardom smiled on them all.

Some of these celebrities did attain a level of tertiary education, while the rest only saw the four walls of an institution from afar. Our focus is on few persons of interest who at one time, were students of esteemed tertiary institutions, but dropped-out eventually due to reasons best known to them.Economically an unwise decision ,these celebrities suffered set-backs and challenges nevertheless,it was a gamble worth taken on the long run.

Here are four top generalissimos who despite quitting university, rose from grass to grace and finally stardom.

D-TUNES
Name:Adesanya Doyinsola
Moniker: D -tunes
D.O.B:13th of October 1991
Occupation:Beat producer,song writer and,C.E.O
Label:Difference Entertainment
Zodiac sign:Libra

First on our list is the Young chairman and CEO of Difference Entertainment,Adesanya Doyinsola also known as “d tunes” in the Music and entertainment circle.D-tunes who was conceived on the dawn of the 90’s kick-started his career into music at an early age in his church where he developed interest in notable instruments such as the drums and the keyboard.Soon, the style of play of this young chorister eventually caught the curiosity of the congregation who, mystified by tunes churned out by the lad, found themselves wanting for more.He was likened to the biblical David at a tender age who, with the aid of his harp, played soothing melodies for the King Saul who was occasionally terrorized by demons and bed-goblins. Years later ,he gradually channeled his musical prowess into song writing and beat making which in turn, faced serious opposition from his parents.

D-tunes who briefly studied at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-iwoye,Ogun state before his self-withdrawal in the year ‘09,due to the incessant strikes.Strike he claimed was seriously affecting his passion for music which by then had gathered significant momentum. It was a rash decision which equally attracted harsh opposition from his parent but,the the young maestro had already reached a personal decision to further his career in music which to him,was the best thing to do at that such a time.

At the tender age of 20, d-tunes had made his mark in the music industry by lacing tracks for famous celebrities such as Rugged man,Faze,Shank and,the Lord of Ajasa.Perhaps, his major breakthrough came when he produced beats for some A-list artistes in the industry such as Iyanya 9ice and,Tu Face Idibia.

His growth in the Industry could be likened to the parable of the mustard seed for it signified the steady rise of an almost obscure beginning to a full grandeur and might which in turn served as shelter and solace tree for up-and-coming producers and artistes.

The musical talisman whose sagacity in the spheres of Yoruba traditional folklore, proverbs and, myths silently crept into the Nigerian entertainment scene at the very birth of the new millennium. western music was relatively still a work-in-progress at this point in time and he had seized this opportunity to transform from a raw talent into a total musician, hereby ascending up the hierarchy of the elites to become a formidable gladiator in the musical arena.

Furthermore, the icon who was formerly a Law student at the prestigious faculty of Law of the Lagos State University,Ojoo, saw no reason why he should continue with formal education due to his profound love for music which eventually led him to terminate his status as a student .After that decision,he then focused solely on his musical career.Today,9ice is not only seen as an entertainer, philanthropist and, politician worthy of been celebrated but also as a godfather who mentors and serves as a motivation for other artiste and entertainers.

DON JAZZY
Birth Name: Michael Collins Ajereh
Stage Name:Don Jazzy
DOB: 26th of November 1982
Occupation: Beat producer,singer,vocalist,song-writer,entrepreneur, CEO
Years Active: 2001-present
Label: Mohits (defunct),Mavins Record
Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius

This man is neither affiliated with Boko-Haram nor Al-quaeda,but he possesses the necessary weapons and ammunition to musically blow you off your feet.Micheal Collins better known as “Don Jazzy” is a Nigerian multi award winning record and beat producer,singer,song-writer and,an astute entrepreneur. He was born in Umuahia, the capital of Abia state in the early 80’s.His Parent later relocated to the city of Lagos where he was raised and brought up.Thereafter,he attended the Federal Government College Lagos, for his secondary education.

Right from a tender age,Don jazzy had always developed a strong passion for musical instruments particularly the bass-guitar and other traditional percussion instruments. The legendary producer attended the the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma,in Edo State where he briefly studied Business Management.Due to his insatiable appetite for a full time career in Music ,he dropped-out of college and later moved to the United Kingdom where he met a would-be friend and artiste. The union and partnership of this dynamic duo would later bring about untold and jaw-dropping prosperity in the entertainment world.

Before the coup of the Don into the Nigerian entertainment scene, music and beat production was still in its grass-root form. The grand entry of the Cherubim and Seraphim born and trained multi-instrumentalist ushered in the much needed awakening and salvation of beat production which had a ripple effect through the continent.

Further still, the musical sage has carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry as an unquestionable juggernaut, whose never before seen skills and musical prowess seem to have come from outer space. Some see him as the “Jesus” of music for he breath the breath of life into music and music lived.Others also see him as “Moses” who not only took a young poor industry out of the land of drought and obscurity, but also parted the red sea of poverty with his famous staff of authority, walked them through the desert of endurance and perseverance, and finally brought them upon the promise land of milk, honey, fame, fortune and, world recognition.

Finally, due to his significant transformation agenda which snatched the music industry from the depths of Hades and brought it upon the Mount Olympus,he is therefore acknowledge as the “Zeus” of the Nigerian entertainment realm. He is indeed, the undisputed Emperor of the supreme Mavin dynasty whose dominion spans across the shores of this Nation.

TU FACE IDIBIA
Birth Name: Innocent Ujah Idibia

Occupation: Singer,song-writer,Entrepreneur and CEO
Years Active: 1994-present

Tu baba,as fondly called by his numerous fans was conceived in the mid ‘70s in Jos,capital of Plateau state.Tuface who hails from the Idoma ethnic group found in the southern part of Benue state attended Saint Gabriela’s secondary school in Merkudi. He later enrolled at the Institute of Management and Technology,Enugu where he did his preliminary national diploma in Business Administration and Management.

All that is now history, for after two decades,Tuface Idibia has seen it all, done it all, through days of plenty and little, times of crisis and conflicts, moments of humiliation and tribulation all for a man without a college certificate operating in a country which places high esteem on formal education.Nevertheless,he was able to surmount all obstacles before him and then went on to seek and conquer. With numerous awards, accolades and, life time achievements to his name,he is ultimately, the numero-uno on the African entertainment scene. One would agree that he fits perfectly into the words of Julius Caesar:”vini, vidi, vici”.

PoliticsRe: Soyinka To Expose Obasanjo, The 'Most Hypocritical' Former Leader In Nigeria by mickeyenglish(m): 8:53am On Jun 23, 2018
TylerDurden:
The problem with Soyinka is that he is the least honest person in Nigeria today. His civil liberties advocacy is all a ruse and his personal hatred for Obasanjo stems from the fact that he (Soyinka) and his marxist movement was jettisoned by the British in place of the Military option which Obasanjo benefited from.

Soyinka was and still is an MI5 agent of destabilization.

He was recruited and indoctrinated with Marxist ideology by the MI5 during his school years.

His Pyrate Confraternity was supposed to be an offshoot of the satanic Masonic lodge and their primary role was to instigate a Marxist revolution to bring about the collapse of the regional govt arrangement in order to install a powerful central govt which they intended to control like a secret society.

One of Soyinka's earliest comrades was Emmanuel Ifeajun who was a student alongside Wole Soyinka at University College, Ibadan.

Nzeogwu was the head of the Jan 15 coup plot but Ifeajun was the radical ideologist who inspired the coup. In short, Nzeogwu was like Fidel Castro and Ifeanjun was like Che Guevara of the Cuban revolution. This is why Soyinka was able to have contacts with the Biafran forces before the war.

Also consider that Nzeogwu and Ifeanjun never wanted Biafra but wanted a united Nigeria under a powerful central govt and Ifeanjun had been negotiating secretly with the Nigerians towards sabotaging Biafran secession and that is why he was duly executed by Ojukwu. Soyinka was the one that vouched for Ifeanju during the secret negotiations with the Nigerian govt.

Soyinka is naturally pained that he never got to have his marxist revolution and he emerge as the communist leader of a socialist "one Nigeria" and all that frustrations was and still is compounded by the rise of the semi-educated Khaki boys (especially Obasanjo) over his pompous commie ass.

Go and die you miserable piece of sh!t

You know nothing boy. Wole Soyinka, a spy for M15 tasked with the conversion of Nigerians to the Marxist way of thought ?? Really? M15 and Marxism?? Have you gone nuts.

If you had said he was a spy for the Soviet KGB, i might have given it a thought there, but you just linked a very unrepentantly Capilalist clandestine operational organization to a Communist/Socialist school of thought. It shows how EDUCATED you are. It's just like insinuating that the KGB collaborated with Soyinka to preach Capitalism to Nigerians.do you even know Marxism gave birth to Socialism and the idea state ;Communism?

When they tell you guys to go to school, you'll tell your parents you want to sell spare parts in Alaba.

As a graduate of English, I major in sociolinguistics (under Language) while my friend went for Creative writing (Literature) right at the 4th year in the University. Our first degree's projects were in these areas.

There are several areas under Language, Literature and other Literary Studies which includes Theater workshop in my School. I have friends that are actors and actresses today; some are newscasters, Editors, etc.

Just call them: English Graduate!
Same here. No thanks to courses such as Semantics,Psycholinguistics and,Discourse Analysis itself, i was able to finally major in the field of Discourse Analysis (CDA to be precise), and my project was super dope.

When faced with situations on ground which mystifies human understanding, mortals are known to panic. When trapped in a ridiculous dilemma,we panic. When caught in the midst of a mayhem,we instantly go into a panic mode. You are guest speaker at a conference only to discover on approaching the podium that your well prepared and articulated speech lies somewhere on your bed in your hotel room, that mild fever that takes over the control of your body is panic.Ironically, when confronted with the presence of that pretty young intimidating light-skinned lady you recently developed a crush for,you still panic. But what is,or rather, who is this harbinger of a phenomenon capable of rendering mortals temporarily powerless in face of situations.

According to Greek mythology,Pan,the son of the Greek god Hermes, was god of the hunters, the Shepherds, meadows and,the forests of the mountain wilds. He was portrayed by the Greeks as a man with the legs and tail of a goat coupled with a thick beard, snub nose and, pointed ears.He was famously known for his love for the musical instrument, the panpipes, which he was often found playing within the rugged countryside of Arcadia.

Nevertheless, the unseen presence of this god was also known to have brought about panic upon those who traverse his realm or dominion.Another account states that the appearance of the little god at birth was said to have brought panic to both his nurse and mother who fled afterwards in sheer terror. This physical attributes did not perturb Hermes, his father as he merrily took his abandoned son up into Mount Olympus to present to the gods.On sighting the little baby, the gods were said to be glad with the baby and they all named him “Pan” which meant “All”,because he delighted them all in their hearts.

Perhaps, his introduction into Greek mainstream worship came during the battle of Marathon which was mainly between the Greek state of Athens against the forces of Persia.Prior,to that incident,Pan was mainly worshiped in Arcadia and had no temple in other parts of the Greek city states.

During the battle of Marathon,a runner and soldier by the name Pheidippides, was dispatched by the forces of Athens in at Marathon to solicit support from the Spartans,he was on his way to Sparta when he was accosted by Pan.The god then inquired from him why the Athenians had failed to honor him. This,Pheidippides promised on behalf of the Athenians that they would do so henceforth. To keep his side of the bargain,Pan set upon the Persians,a sudden, mindless, irrational, frenzied fear which was later termed as “Panic”.This event played a pivotal role towards the defeat of the Persian forces. After the victory of the Athenians in Marathon, the created a principality for Pan from whence sacrificed are offered to him annually.

Also,he was said to be a god who possessed a terrific voice apart from other qualities, and legends has it that this particular quality was particularly useful during the epic war of the Olympian gods against the Titans. His voice was said to have ignited fear and frightened the Titans.

Conversely, for those who wished to appease the gods or pray to him for fortune and luck in their hunting expeditions, sacrifices such as cows, rams, lamb, milk and, honey are offered to him.

So you see, when next you hit the panic button or you are always prone to panic, hope you now know the god behind your predicaments and how to appease this purveyor of sudden terror.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Should Adopt Indigenous Languages To Boost Education, Says El-rufai by mickeyenglish(m):
Slikbae:
African leaders are just too dumb. The China they're citing is a homogeneous country. South and North Korea are homogeneous countries. Infact almost every country in Europe is homogeneous.

So how can you introduce learning in indigenous language's when there are over 200 languages in Nigeria?

The dummy even said "there are series of concerns over the use of English language as the nation's official language".

What language should be the lingua franca of a linguistically diverse nation like Nigeria ? Is it not the same English language that is being used in teaching in the south?

Nigeria should just divide so they can go and make Hausa the lingua franca of their own country.

Yes! We agree that China and majority of the European countries are homogeneous, but we forget that Nigeria itself is an amalgam of homogeneous communities and those communities can choose to adopt their indigenous languages as their formal lingua franca.

Maybe it's because you are or,were not a language student, then you would have understood the essence of the MT. Researches have been carried out on the influence of the MT in terms of learning and it has been discovered that kids who learn some subjects like Mathematics and English in their MT had a better learning experience and developed faster than those who learnt with the English language. If you disagree with on this fact, you are free to visit any English Language department in from any institution in Nigeria to confirm from the dons. I know first hand that a lot of Academics have been clamoring for this change since the era of IBB, but it had been neglected. The bill has been hanging for decades. Kudos to states like Lagos who are now moving for a motion that the Lagos House of Assembly proceedings should be conducted using their native Yoruba language.

On your remark on the use of English as the official language as opposed to El-Rufai's claim,i can as well verify El-Rufai's stand as a valid one. How many Northerners can easily communicate with you using the English Language as a medium of conversation? The answer you get is a negative one. So, you see, he's arguing from the Northerner standpoint of the negative effects of the English language as a sociolinguistic apathy within his region.

Furthermore,on your argument that a country as diverse as Nigeria needs the English language as a medium of conversation,is actually null and void.We all know Nigeria is a collection of heterogeneous communities with over 200 languages, still this so-called 200 languages can all be classified under the dominant languages eg Hausa/fulani,Igbo and, Yoruba. Lest we forget that prior to the coup of Nzeogwu, we practiced Regionalism, where everyone is free to enact the laws that suits the interest of their communities. We can still go back to that. In fact, that is what we are clamoring for in Nigeria now.

Finally, pondering on your end point regarding the free practice of Hausa as a lingua franca and language of education up North after an imaginary breakup.Well,it might shock you to know that the Yorubas of the Southwest would not only implement such an idea into law, but also enforce it to the core, which i, as a full-blooded Yoruba won't mind at all, so my question is which divide are you?
