Did you not read what I wrote? No one asked you to ignore a comment; open a thread if you need understanding as you stated. The mods are up to task and it's their prerogative to decide what threads to close, not yours.
Of course I did and my decision still holds. Use your brain will you, I said "I will 'request a closure" if further tribalism are being spewed.
So far, you haven't made a contributionto the topic posted, so how about you stick to the development of south West? Not too hard is it?

That would derail this thread which is focused on the developments in the SW. Create a separate thread for your overflogged intentions. Other Nigerians are focused on progress.
I don't know about you, but I can't ignore a comment that wished more harm were done to the other tribe. I need to understand the context behind that comment.
Anyways, I am happy to let this topic continue as long as tribalism is kept to a minimum otherwise I have no choice but to request a closure of this thread.

When they were busy rolling in the sheets and bleeping regularly, they didn't have irreconcilable differences oh. Now they want those innocent kids to go through the trauma of growing up in a broken home.

Lesson for youths out there...better don't get married if you don't have what it takes.

Additionally, y'all should learn to let your marriage last a year or two before you start shitting those kids out. This way you will atleast have an idea if you can continue or not.

I hate broken homes, no child should be made to go through that.

OP tell them to see a lawyer!
Nothing more to add. But domestic assault is unacceptable.

Awolowo reneged from an agreement, you moronn.
If he couldn't understand the reason why ojukwu had to come all the way to ore then maybe his intelligence is overestimated.

Btw, you can't forge a new path with people who are no longer interested.
Forge your own path.
It's great to hear your views on this. Can you please expand more on the highlighted, because Igbos on this site are angry for a reason. They tend to call Yoruba a betrayal and backstabber.

It is sad to see alot of people fighting for a cause they know nothing about.
One question for the Biafra fanatics is should Awolowo wait for the SE then to enter his region before facing them head on? Because if we actually read our history books which most of us don't, we would know that Biafrans actually took another region (mid western region) which does not belong to then during the war and were virtually at the door step of the western region (Ore) heading for Lagos the then capital of Nigeria. This is when and where Awolowo mobilized soldiers to defend his territory and unavoidably joined the war.

Finally, the war is over we shud come together and forge a new path ahead together. The enemies of our country is out there and within us. They are always looking for aw to divide us and also loot our country dry. The same method they have been using for years.
To be honest, I didn't know the history of Nigeria and was beginning to dislike Awolowo.
Thanks for clearing this up. I am sure Igbos too will have their own view on the war, which I will be glad to know.

Mr Adekunle Oyinloye, Managing Director, The Infrastructure Bank Plc, has said that the proposed Lagos Metro Rail Transit (LMRT) project will cost N456 billion (2.4 billion dollars).
Oyinloye said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday that the project was expected to cost so much because it involved fixed infrastructure – tracks, stations and rolling stocks.

“We still have some paper work to do with Lagos State for concession. Immediately the concession is done and we have a bankable document and get to finance close then the project will start.
“We are hoping and believing that within the next six to eight months we will be able to get to finance close and we will start,’’ he said.

Oyinloye said the bank was a member of the consortium which created the Marina Express Train Services and partnering to construct the rail line known as “Red Line’’ project.
“Infrastructure bank is also the transaction advisor and finance arranger for the project. It bided for the Red Line project which started since 2008.

“When we got the preferred bidder status, the right of way was not available so we had to work with Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and Lagos State Ministry of Transport.

“We also had to work behind the scene with the Ministry of Transport to ensure that the right of way was granted,’’ Oyinloye said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the right of way for the proposed Iddo-Agbado corridor for Lagos Metro Rail Transit, known as “Red Line’’, was handed over to Lagos State in Abuja on Friday.

Oyinloye expressed gratitude to President Good Luck Jonathan for granting the right of way for which the construction could start.

“There will be changes in the landscape of Lagos. There are about 1.8 million passengers daily who currently spend about four hours daily to get to work and another four hours to get back.

“After the completion of the project, the passengers will now need 30 minutes or maximum of 45 minutes to get to their destinations in a cosy train services.

“If you are living in Agbedo or Agege and you work in CMS area or Victoria Island or you do business in Oke-Arin and Balogun Market you do not need more than 45 minutes to get to your destination,’’ he said.

Oyinloye said the proposed project was delayed due to transfer of asset from the federal to state government which required a lot of engagement and involved several ministries and departments.

The Commissioner of Transportation, Lagos State, Mr Kayode Opeifa, said the project would create direct and indirect jobs during and after the construction.

“It will reduce the cost of transportation and save money for citizens; it will improve our mass transit system by moving more people within a shorter period by decongesting the road and managing the traffic accurately.

“There will be low greener gas emission from the cars and people will be able to move their goods to the market with cheaper rate and more efficient way.

“We are going to link the state and improve tourism. The blue line runs east west from Okukumaiko to Marina while the Red Line runs west to south from Ogun State end to Lagos,’’ he said.

Opeifa, however, said that once the concession was concluded, construction would start with the work expected to last three or four years.

Nigeria is still not big enough economically, to warrant Chinese and American president attendance presidential inauguration. Similarly, you can't expect Nigerian president to attend Seychelles for instance.
The fact they are even sending senior official speaks volumes about how far Nigeria has come.

Really?. I loved that render. Yeah, I was told it was in high demand the last time I emailed ekopearl. I wouldn't worry about that now, nor would I advice any one into a panick buy. Personally, the best thing is to wait because there will always be better option and you might end up kicking yourself. In addition, I am sure space will free up in eko pearl.

It is also expected that 150,000 will commute to the city daily for business. This is approximately half the population of a couple of states in the USA.

OP pls what states are you talking about?
Virgin Islands, American Samoa and Northern Mariana Island. They are in an unincorporated territory of the United States obviously.

Well said.
I once heard that corporate organizations would be encouraged to relocate their headquarters to EAC from VI. This move would free up more land for residential building and could result in a massive crash in the price of land/property in VI.
VI, believe it or not, was originally intended to be a purely residential area. But the "Naija factor" derailed the plan.
Haa.. you are one of the few that gets the drift. Keep it to yourself lipsrsealed
Personally, I will proceed with caution if I was to buy a house in VI at the moment.

But they are NOT being developed in parallel, or are they huh

How many children do you see roaming the street or stuck in their parents' home because they can not go to school in Lagos state today?

Why should an "excellent" governor be boasting over 14% FAILURE in education sector?
Why?
Then lagosian should've exerted their voting power or asked why other project are suffering? What you are asking is similar to those asking private investors to stop developing ultra urban manhattan simply because New orleans and Detroit are poor. I am neutral on this, but if you felt fashola was not doing a proper job then he has no excuse because he isn't funding this EAC project.

Let me tell you a story:

Moral of the story- FIX the underlying issues first instead of expecting "trickle down" effect.
Europe and America did not develop that way. They focused first and continue to focus on MASS education.
China, India, Korea etc are also doing same with outstanding results.

Our late great sage, Awo understood that and transformed the Western region in just six years (1954-1960):

Sadly, the akotiletas prodigal sons of Thief'nuibu cabal that have held us in bondage since 1999 do not understand this BASIC tenet of sustainable development! embarassed undecided
Sir, you are missing the point. This project is independent of government funding, which means all the things you are complaining about can also be developed in parallel.
Let's agree to disagree.

Is that how they do it in the UK, USA, Canada, Italy and those other places where Lagosians, Nigerians and black Africans are risking their lives to cross the desert and Mediterranean Sea just to be under-employed, work their arse off contributing to the development of these oyinbo societies while ours rot away WITHOUT even been acknowledged for their efforts huh

Is it that we are such a SHAMELESS bunch of mofos huh
I speak for most people( esp second generations of Nigerians abroad) when I say the reason most of us haven't come back to settle down is mostly down to the poor infrastructures. Imagine thousands of fellow Nigerians like me and my family/friends selling all their assets to relocate back to Nigeria.
Tell me this won't positively affect Nigerians. Nigerians send $20-30 billion back to Nigeria every year, imagine if they all move back to invest in the country. Nigeria economy will automatically grow by at least %10. Talk less of the improvement due to increase in expertise in many white and blue collar jobs.
The snowball effect is simply too great.

Do you need a justification from them before you will believe you leaders are getting it right.

You have derailed the thread yoursefl.
I have to address this. This is not called whatever you think it is. I will assume you live in Naija and have a better idea of the situation than me, but my impression is that certain groups of people don't feel welcome nor appreciated enough in Lagos hence some of the outcries.
That comment has a red herring tone to it and was included for diplomatic reasons. Anyways, it will be deleted. Let's all relax and enjoy the privilege of being able to witness such an amazing project.

OP I am sorry to say but you have derailed the thread yourself with your tribal rant.

My estimate is within the next 15 years, proper underground drainage system should be fully installed across VI. Eko Atlantic city(EAC) will definitely have manhattan-brooklyn effect on soroundings streets. The fact EAC will be using underground electrical transmission and drainage system, is a big positive for me.
