Greatness is totally different from success and it's important we get the distinction right. Education isn't necessarily the key to greatness but it's one of the keys that could increase your odds. I find hard work, attitudes to life, self determination and luck mixed with talents as the key ingredient to greatness. |
It'll be nice to know the economic benefit of this project. Oyo state due to her history, is a place after my own heart. The poor education standards and perceived lack of sustainable economic plan is concerning. |
This is one of the many reason why majority of Nigerians abroad can never settle in Nigeria. This country is waiting to implode very soon. |
Nigeria can never move forward with all these religious(sometimes tribal) sentiments. The country is too f'ed up beyond words. The Muslims most especially are guilty of requesting special treatment |
Different budgets. You simply have more money to steal in lagos while also pretending you are doing something. |
Buhari receives briefing but can't show his face or provide full disclosure about his health? The quote 'A country deserves its leader has never seem so apt'. They do take Nigerians for a fool. I don't think the average Nigerians fully appreciates how much uncertainty this sage is causing the economy and security of the country. |
Either way, there is no way the Apostle is coming out of this unscathed. His reputation is taking some serious beating. |
Here we go again with the equalisation of IQ test as a measure of intelligence. People with high IQ’s can score poor on an IQ test, for any number of reasons. My brother scored poorly on his first test, because he didn’t cooperate with the psychologist who administered it — he was five and that kind of behavior is not uncommon at that age. Fortunately, my parents had the wherewithal to have him tested by a private psychologist who went to the trouble of winning his trust, and that time, he maxed out the test. I always keep that in mind as a reminder that we should be cautious in interpreting IQ scores here. And an Aspie friend here was considered slow for many years, because he has a language disability — but as a teenager, he scored above 130, in the gifted range, and is no doubt smarter because his language difficulties still interfere with his ability to take the test. There are lots more reasons why a smart kid could get a poor score — vision problems, dyslexia, ADHD, trauma at home, even lack of sleep. In view of this, this can never be used as a merit to determine intelligence. This holds ever more true when you consider the test cognitively (historically) favours people with science background. |
The list was definitely influenced by misguided and biased views. However, with the religious crisis (mostly in the north) couple with the insecurities around the country, I am not surprised at this conclusion. |
Wow |
What's the point of the rubbish flowers? Shouldn't the flowers be directed towards millions in Nigeria vulnerable to the power vacuum? |
Irrespective of how ingenious his ideas or anyone else might be, fact remains many talents are crying out for platforms to enable them to utilise their talents. How many talents and dreams like this must have been killed? This fact is perhaps the saddest of all about the country. |
Rip. How poignant is the last pic? I wonder how many of these sudden deaths could have been avoided with a better health care system. All hypothetical. |
I call b.s on this. |
Shame |
Depends on what you do. This holds ever more true for CEO, hedge funds, quants, doctors and other highly paid jobs. |
Stars like Beyoncé and Pharrell needs to be morr open about their IVF. It's important for clarification sake, for the novice. |
The headline is extremely misleading and a bit low of nl mods. To an extent, this is a fair comment to be honest. However, considering many Muslims look up to him, he needs to do more to stop radicalization in the north. |
I am sure the Pastor title card is going to come in handy for the gullible Nigerians. |
Painful to watch and listen to. Another relationship goes to the dogs. |
franchizy:What do you know about national grid? It is obvious you don't have any basic understanding of electricity. |
I emailed her last year with the intention of investing in her business. I won't say more about the progress of the talks.
|
Shym3xx:It is okay to be ignorant but trying to justify the ignorance is a sign of stupidity. I mean who else compares a federalized military personnel to a National guard, US coast guard etc... Let's leave the boasting out shall we and let reality take it course on who else is living large. Based on your replies, I wouldn't employ you to clean a floor as you might confuse it with a ol Zial. I am out. |
Dollyak:You are equally as rude and manner less btw. However, indeed, posse Comitatus Act only applies to National guard if they are federalized. In other words, in the events of sudden mainland invasion by other countries. I am out. |
Shym3xx:Internet is truly an equalizer of men. The conversation is over between me and you. You haven't make sense so far and you are just going round in circles repeating what is known and interpreting it wrongly. |
Shym3xx:Again, another rude nl member. Seun needs to crack down on you guys with little or no internet etiquette on this forum. Back to your discussion, I really can't see any correction you are pointing out that is intellectually of note? Pedantically speaking, she is right that military are not allowed to disarm civilians on USA soil but that is as far as that point goes obviously, in the context of police brutality. US national guard is first and foremost a state agency, who are sometimes mobilised by the US president to assist the country’s armed forces. They are efficetviely a military police and not a soldier. Regards. |
landg:Gosh... What is wrong with you guys on nl? Why say something harsh to your fellow human. |
Does it move? Were the suspension and chassis designed by the students? That doesn't look like something designed by CFD for a start. |
That is a big accusation |
darqly:I am not against what you are preaching, but I guess from their perspective, your last statement sort of justifies their actions don't you think? You are looking at this issue from one side of the spectrum. The narrative about the drawback being more than advantages is subjective at best. They are fighting a fundamental unbalanced political and social system of which if the attack continues might be forced to change or adjust(That is good isn't it?). The alleged parasitic behaviour and loop sided favoritism of the legislations to the Northerners is valid. In view of this, there is an argument for the long term benefits of the avenger's actions. Mind you, I am a Yoruba but let's not pretend the federal government would have listened to a more peaceful dialogues. |
I hate to say this , but Nigeria's future is looking gloomy. There is an almost complete social breakdown among all parties. The northerners needs to sit back and have a word with themselves before they lose everything they are desperately clinging on. SW must be alert. |
