Lov4sat:ok, keep remember to try different LNB skews as you are searching. I mentioned earlier that you should be very observant of the signal bar any slight increase while you are searching keep the dish at that point and tweak you LNB skew, including pushing it in and pulling out. |
Lov4sat:Track 5°E or 7.0°E if you can get any of them easily then input the first TP and swing your dish around but not directly opposite. while you are standing behind the dish gradually turn your dish towards your left hand. When you are almost opposite raise the dish up and down while watching the screen for any slight movement of your signal bar. Also the make of dish matters as not all makes are exactly 90cm. |
Lov4sat:11476 V 27500 11559 V 27500 note it is opposite side of MyTV i.e. turn your dish to face the opposite direction. |
1kinggy:It is possible to combine satellites that are close, e.g. 5°E and 7.0°E, 26.0°E and 28.2°E, etc. the trick get the satellite with the stronger signal first, then input the tp of the other satellite then move your dish slightly to get the signal. While you are still in that position, change to the TP of the other satellite to ensure the other signal is still there. Example: track SES 5 at 5.0°E with TP 12015 V 29950, after you receive the signal then input TP 12728 H 30000 for Eutelsat 7A at 7.0°E then move the dish slightly to your left while standing at the back of your dish. You will hit green, now remain at that position then change to the first TP 12015 V 29950 you should receive signal, if there is no signal move slightly back not as much as you moved left, you hit green then go back to check that you can still receive the TP 12728 H. Pros: You can enjoy two satellites with one LNB. Cons: 1. You loose some TPs with weak signals 2. You can loose signal or cracking with any slight bad weather condition, due to the reduced signal, which wouldn't have occurred if the LNB is dedicated to a single satellite. On a final note, you can set it easily once you know the signal strength at which the other satellite can be received. example TP 12728 H 30000 maximum signal is 70% reducing it to 65% while moving right gives you the TP 12015 V 29950 for SES 5 at 5.0°E. hope this helps. ![]() |
Lov4sat:It has been mentioned and confirmed that it is not possible to receive MBC 26E in the south-south on small dishes due to reduced signal. A member from Benin posted about this was also confirmed by members from Rivers and Bayelsa states. The alternative get a 90cm dish and search at 7W. cc: ekemsy: |
lincolnola:Which satellite decoder are you using? locate the audio button on your remote and change between stereo, left and right. |
1kinggy:He is actually catching 5 birds with a single 60cm dish with 3 LNBs, (LNB1 16E, LNB2 26E/28.5E, and LNB3 5E/7E) You can also do it by following his instructions. ![]() |

demusking, hope the latitude is between 0 - 90° because Kumasi latitude is 6.6666° N, if the latitude begins from 10° and above, it is difficult to install. |
Unfortunately when I pasted the captured the screen to paint program, and saved the picture was blanked out. I used the encrypted E! Channel on 68.5E for the demonstration.

graphicicon:I also had difficulty in playing back recorded files on pc. So I just downloaded the codec and installed without any tweaking. I am using Windows XP and before installation of the codec most hd files had no audio sound. I noticed that files display as notepad documents in windows explorer, just right clicked, choose open with, then selected windows media player, It displayed can play but asked if i want WMP to play it which I chose. yes and it played. ![]()

graphicicon:I used the Klite codec pack Emmaachile mentioned and was able to play TSV file recorded on QSAT using Windows Media Player version 9 and saved the file under windows media player with .AVI extension. |
2Banty:Hello Banty, it seems you are using only one dish. If true then it is not possible for you to receive the frequencies being posted here. 1. You need different dishes to receive multiple satellites, unlike normal Local TV channels where you use a single antenna to receive all within your reach. 2. Even on the same satellite you have C-band and KU-band signals, which cannot be received with the normal small LNB, except you are using the C/KU-band combined LNB. 3. You need a big dish for C-band signals. 4. Satellite that are close to each other can be received on a single dish by multiple LNBs attached to a single dish. Also a single LNB can be used to receive two satellites that are close. 5. You can motorise your dish to receive multiple satellites with one dish and a single LNB. |
pwetie:boss stop confusing the guy. He posted about not receiving Badr 26e using 12284H/V 27500 on his MultiTV (JoyTV) LNB as there are reports of it being received. And you posted of a friend who received it 11559V/H 27500 which is on another satellite different from what he posted about. |
luvablesam:It is on C-band in Apstar 7 at 76.5°E and the channel is encrypted (coded) with PowerVu encryption. If you have a decoder capable of decoding the PowerVu encryption then you are good to go. Note to get Apstar 7 at 76.5°E you must lower your dish further from old MyTv position Intelsat 20 at 68.5°E the dish size should not be less than 1.8mtr. |

xtianfemi:Hello xtainfemi, all the decoders you mentioned and other free to air decoders work well with this dish. You can use both C-band and KU-band LNB for this dish. However you can only use the KU-band LNB to receive channels being received by small dishes 45cm to 120cm. You can motorise it if you have the finances to do so. This will enable you watch more channels; sports, movies, news, documentary, music, etc. The type of decoder you use depends on what you want. Some decoders allow you to enter known keys for some encrypted channels, some don't support all the encryption methods, while some can even do autoroll-that is getting the new keys as the providers change the keys. All in all you can enjoy free news, movies, sports and music channels. these are channels broadcasted free on various satellites. Check out George_D's pictures in these links: https://www.nairaland.com/712408/free-air-satellite-tv-general/605 https://www.nairaland.com/712408/free-air-satellite-tv-general/1049#39020159 cheers. |

APC affecting even the higher institutions, what is the difference between the two? |
Jessewizy:While on 12265 h 27500 tweak your LNB a bit and make sure it is H and not V. You can also adjust the dish up/down, left/right a little. |
wealthdavid:no, because the possible satellites you can receive are empty ![]() |
Dlee you should understand that is how some people respond to questions. The guy's Amos5/W3C was scanned using the Astra 19 satellite in his decoder. Most installers don't bother about the satellite name, but just scan using any KU Satellite in the decoders. You will see Intelsat 20,Eutelsat 36A/36B, etc being scanned on different satellite names. Obnelly did not respond because he understood the guy perfectly. @Obnelly, I have not received it but, someone in Lagos told me some transponders are receivable with 2.4m solid dish. |
ayolacz:If you are using QSAT decoder, verify that polarity of channel is the same as polarity in Biss key menu. The channel may display intermttently when the polarities are different. If you are receiving the channel on V use V in the biss key menu to enjoy stability. |
esystem01:esystem01, use an OCS(One Cable Solution) LNB. |

@GeorgeD, kindly help a brother locate the shop where you got that underated wonderful Ku LNB. ![]() |
@odilibe, there is only one LNB arm, what you are seeing is the batten. The LNB is actually attached to the ceiling batten. Nigerians are ingenious. ![]() @ Olenyi, true talk. I have always nursed this idea to try the inverted principle for Intelsat20 on dish with primary LNB focused on Eutelsat4/7, but never had the time to experiment it. My present abode, I need a long ladder (approximately 18 feet) to get to my dish. @xnnalvin, go to my profile an follow me, I will follow back. |
