NiyiOmoIyunade:Thanks for the clarification. I understand what you meant is you can have multiple earthing rods, but once it is tied together they act as one massive earthing rod, with earthing connected to the nearest rod. What ojesymsym referred to, is also correct, based on your explanation. Some people use multiple earth rods, which are isolated from each other in the same building, which I understand is what this literature say is "wrong". |
This is old news, last year Xiaomi had already displaced Iphone to 3rd. They recently won a case to be removed from the Trump ban list. |
Digitman2:This is awesome and very innovative, I have been trying all these years to attach additional LNBs, even bought multi-LNB holder from China, it didn't fit properly. The Chinese Multi-LNB holders are not that suitable for Nigeria elevation. Thanks once again and remain blessed for sharing this very important idea. ![]() |
WaytoGo:Hello WaytoGo, don't be confused. Satellite signals behave like light rays, the dish face the satellite and the signals are reflected onto the LNB. Picture 1 Satellite signals also behave same as light by obeying the laws of reflection. (You first question) The law of reflection states that when a ray of light reflects off a surface, the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. Picture 2. To Install multi LNB on a single satellite dish. Now when you move a dish away from a satellite, you increase the angle of incidence of the satellite signal, the angle of reflection also increases In a nutshell, if a satellite signal comes from left of the dish, you search for the reflected signal on the right part of the dish. the same is applicable from top, i.e. you get Belintersat 1 at 51.5°E and moves the dish to NigComSat 1R at 42.5°E you have moved the dish up, which has increased the angle of incidence in which case you need to place your LNB above NigComSat 1R at 42.5°E to search for Belintersat 1 at 51.5°E to receive the signal, not below . Picture 3.

Nbotee:Yes, to provide food for cows. |
waleayeni1:Hello, if you are installing Nigcomsat as primary on the dish, once you hit green on DSTV. change to the Nigcomsat frequency and move your dish down and to the right a little, while standing behind the dish. You should pay close attention to your signal bars. if you see a slight increase at any point, blindscan, not successful move the dish again when you see the slight signal increase. try it again. You can also skew you LNB in little increments, sometimes just 1-degree can make a big difference. ![]() |
earthrealm:These are the marketers who make people run away from solar. ![]() He is probably selling an assembled 12v 100W inverter inbuilt, 40ah lifepo4 battery with a PWM SCC. |
GeorgeD1: Boss man, me sef still dey here oooh. and I know that "most people" are on the sidelines, just reading comments after the childish behaviour of some peeps on the thread. Someone will respond to a question, and three post down another person wants to be responded to personally by repeating the exact same question. Gadotor, freshp, odilibe, and so many others tried responding to repeated questions, got tired and started ignoring. Olenyi1 tried is best responding to mumu repeated question on the same page, they started singing his praises, eventually he was overwhelmed and joined those before him on the sidelines, siddon dey look only responding once in a while. In the good old days, boundaries where pushed to re-write some satellite narratives. I always come to the forum for updated information satellites, transponders, channels, etc. We dey gidigba, na mostly the indomie generation wey no understand the benefit of open forum want to drag people go WhatsApp and other groups where dem go enjoy admin privileges and feel fly. Imagine if nairaland was a closed group, most peeps wanting to drag people to whatsapp and other closed groups would they have gotten solution to their problems? |

Barezzi:Kindly share the energy consumption rate. |
ceaser:I believe it should have, my search on google showed it among the least power guzzlers in test done 55" 4K UHD Smart TV | TCL C6 Series | I read it is more energy efficient than the previous C5 series. What can you deduce from this specs Power Consumption (TV On) 140W Power Consumption (Standby) ﹤0.5W ECO Energy Efficiency Yes Backlight Adjustable Yes (0~100) It is the cheapest, others - Sony and Samsung are between 30% - 50% higher in price Also TV is on J U M I A so going with a watt meter to test is not possible. |
JUO:Please don't be offended, I must have mixed it with Namzy's Hisense Deep Freezer price. However the fridge is off the market now. |
ojeysky:Which model? |
Good day ladies and gents, Advise needed, I want to buy a tv, did some research and found TCL 4k Android Smart UHD Edgeless TV which meets my spec and budget. It consumes about 135w at full blast. Is it advisable to purchase it considering I plan to install 5KW inverter. Also I had in mind to purchase an inverter friendly fridge, but unfortunately the LG fridge model JUO mentioned he bought for 80k and consumes 30w is currently out of stock. In fact, after he mentioned it I searched online and found it on jumia around 130K, but when I was ready to purchase, it was out of stock on jumia and konga. Please advise next possible option. It seems many people are following this thread silently, and acts on any information posted here. ![]() JUO, Ojeysky, earthrealm, ceaser |
Nigerians can never allow the country function normally without creating avenues for extorting. solar generators/Water heaters (inverters, water heaters) is 5% Import duty, and VAT Free. Solar cells in panel form or modules is import duty and VAT free Yet custom charges duties. I the case of my my small chinese inverter the cost price (Price + Shipping) was even inflated to charge a higher duty & VAT. I was charged 20% duty with 5% VAT and another charge of the whole amount, that was before VAT was increased to 7.5%. |
GeorgeD1:Boss, still very much around down south. I am on an Island now in Rivers State. You know we are walkabout people. ![]() We just did some heat exchangers replacement during schedule TA, last train completed. Will call when I am around. |
bigrovar:I have notice this attitude with Nigerians. Someone will steal all the money belong to a community, they won't raise a voice but when someone takes an action that affects him only they will start making noise. All the atrocities being committed against an individual or a group of Nigerians, you wont see them coming out to fight. But let one man decide to be giving 15 people in a community N100 each, then you will see them rant and analysis on the uselessness of N100 or complain the particular people he should have given the money. |

Australia’s first mid-air crash in more than a decade claimed four lives yesterday when two light planes on training flights collided high above central Victoria, tumbling in front of bewildered eyewitnesses. Emergency services staff found wreckage from both planes in separate locations on the ground near Seymour, about 120km north of Melbourne, with the victims trapped after the twin death spirals. Police Inspector Peter Koger said people had seen the planes fall from the sky after colliding at 4000 feet, with two killed in each plane. https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/light-plane-crashes-at-mangalore-north-of-melbourne/news-story/6a735abeb87fb6a4e21c34a98448ddc7 |
GeorgeD1: Thanks a lot for the Startimes dish gift. The Startimes dish is still going strong. But the unfriendly Warri weather damaged my H-H Diseqc motor. I have lost about 3-LNBs to the Dec-Feb rain that comes with storm and lightening. Now the dish is pointed to Nigcomsat, with an attachment for Intelsat 20 at 68.5°E for madam. Let there be peace No time to track other sats yet. I plan to attach three more LNBs for Astra 2F at 28.2°E, Eutelsat 16A at 16.0°E and any other. Second dish is dedicated to Eutelsat 7 West A at 7.3°W for the MBCs. Although I have the MBCs on Nigcomsat, These are stable and always on, plus it has EPG. ![]()

Try flysat To know satellites & beams receivable by a particular dish size at your location try satstar dot net |
Dewze:Dewze, while you are on that screen press the red button on the remote control. You will get to satellite list where transponder can be added or deleted. After you get Nigcomsat, try reading few pages back on how to attach a second LNB to get Astra on 28.2E. Also a third LNB can be attached on top Nigcomsat to get the TSTV channels. happy hunting. On second thought, you said your dish is facing DStv, then you shouldn't concern yourself with tracking it but input the Nigcomsat Transponder and adjust accordingly. There are channels for action movies, telemundo, Nollywood, cartoon. Only entertainment your family will miss is football, bbnaija. |
Topmost11:It means the 6 panels are connected in series. You need more than one to connect in parallel. 1S6P means all panels are connected in parallel no series. xSxP is standard tech acronym in solar for battery and panels connection configuration. It is how I understand it from following this thread. |
ceaser:Dishtech is already using the same type of batteries in series and charging with solar using PWM CC. The PWM CC has user programmable parameters. |
ceaser:Thanks for your input. Please see attached pictures. Pic. 1 Label Pic. 2 battery with connections, single black line is for charging, black and red cable is for discharge. Pic. 3 battery with follow come charger. Pic. 4 Shows the charger and battery

Dishtech:The sketch is for regular batteries, which i already know from reading this thread. Please, see sketch attached, as you are aware the LiFePo4 brand has discharge and charge lines separate discharge lines are in series, giving 24V which is clear to me. My question is should i connect the charging lines to the PWM CC parallel as in my sketch or I also have to connect them in series like the discharge lines. Note the batteries comes with separate lines unlike regular batteries with only one for charging and discharging. Thanks for your response.
|
GeorgeD1:I never intended to go this route, some pages back I posted how I came about 4 LiFePo4 batteries (3-new, 1-used). The batteries were forgotten somewhere until dishtech responded to a post about the same type of batteries, being charged with solar. In fact after acquiring the batteries and it didn't fit the purpose, I made extensive research online (solarpaneltalk dot com & others) without any positive way of safely charging it with solar. Dishtech is using PWM CC with solar to charge successfully for sometime. So, I had to revisit the forgotten batteries and see how best to utilize it. ![]() |
Dishtech:I mentioned 4 earlier and asked if it can be connected in series/parallel. You confirmed it can be done, which I believe is for the discharge line to make it 24V for use with a 24V inverter/UPS. You also confirmed it can be charged with solar using a PWM CC which is why I purchased it (PWM CC). My question now is since the battery has separate charge and discharge cables, how do i connect the two batteries to the PWM CC? Note: I intend to connect in series for 24V output. I also mentioned that one is a used battery which you also advised against using it, otherwise my initial intention was to parallel and series 2S2P. Thanks for you support. |
Hello GeorgeD long time. I am trying to go into a kind of mini solar. @dishtech I got the PWM CC 12V/24V 60A. see pictures attached. My questions are 1. How do I connect the wires (a) parallel to the PWM CC, or (b) series? Note: batteries are LiFePo4. 2. Can I use a 1500VA MGE UPS?
