zeestone99: I never sold any repackaged lifepo4 battery. I sold meritsun and narada. Why mention what you are not sure of? Sorry boss, for mentioning your name, but I never said you sold any fake or substandard Lithium Battery to any body. microgiant: I remember around 2015/16 a seller (can't remember if it was Zeestone) here wanted to sell packaged LIFEPO4, he was disappointed after testing the sample. I was just giving an example, because the Lithium journey on this thread started with some coupling 18250 cell and posting the pictures. So people found out there were already coupled batteries on sale, and requested if the sellers could not make it available. One seller hinted that he is experimenting on one at the time, and asked people to hold on. He was disappointed and came back to tell people to forget about it. He NEVER SOLD any of the batteries. |

Malevonent: why would i go back to my vomit?..wasting scarce resources to buy and test a product that has been confirmed to be fradulent??. the onus is on you guys defending them to buy , open and post internal pictures, then do a capacity test to confirm they have repented.
felicity, wakatech and the rest of the packaged lithium battery packs flooding the nigerian market, are cheap for a reason, you can continue living in denial, your choice It is quite sad to note that most electronics and automobiles being sold in Nigeria (also East & West Africa) are substandard. Nigeria does not have an effective monitoring system. This became quite prevalent when electronics and parts started coming from Taiwan, then later China. LG have different products for Africa (especially West/East), and Japan recently joined in the party. Are you aware that despite the digital switch over from analogue to digital TV, most latest LED HD UHD TVs being sold (even by LG & Samsung) in Nigeria come with analogue tuners? A country like Australia has a pan Australian Warranty of 2-years. Irrespective of you giving warranty on not, once an electrical or electronic item develops fault under 2years post purchase, you either replace for the buyer or make full refund. Have you ever heard that vehicles were recalled in Nigeria because of factory fault/defects. It is one of the reason most people prefer to buy American used vehicles and those who can afford purchase new cars from there and ship to Nigeria. The same applies to packaged LIFEPO4 batteries from China. I remember around 2015/16 a seller (can't remember if it was Zeestone) here wanted to sell packaged LIFEPO4, he was disappointed after testing the sample. |

Eagba: abeg someone experienced should please answer me Boss I don't have much experience, but if what you listed are the things you want to power, a small system can sustain you. I have 40AH INEC Lithium battery (three in parallel) and 12V 1500va pure sinewave inverter (which is doubtful probably 150va), Charge controller two 160w Flames Panels. It powers my 32" LG Led TV, Strong decoder (or GoTV), DC Standing Fan, and 2 5W 12V DC Led bulbs, then charge my phones & Laptop (not regularly). The Panels are not generating much, but charges the battery full before 12PM on a sunny day. Sometimes madam use the blender. I have not bought fuel for a longtime. You can get between 100AH ~ 200AH battery 1200W ~3000W Panels 12V or 24V Pure Sinewave Inverter to power your loads. |

ojesymsym: If I understand you, the BMS is shutting out getting readings from the cells by shutting out both input and outputs so that reading may not be right? Correct me if I am wrong, I thought in this context the BMS will only shut any power from getting into it to charge it but will still show the output voltage of the battery..
Oh sorry if I implied that. The chain long small. A friend is the one who was invited to come check if the batteries can be salvaged after many years of neglect. You don't want to know what I was told the cost of each was, that was allowed to waste like this. I am not talking of 1 oh, from the picture, I can see at least 30 of them. Ceaser already explained it in detail to you. The BMS will shut down output not input. However, most Solar Charge Controllers are by design first attached to the battery, and after detecting the voltage i.e 12V, 24V,36V etc, before it will start charging. It cannot charge a battery the volts (output) cannot be detected. Note: the output voltage is a range 12V system (DC9V-DC15V), 24V system (DC18V-DC29V), 36V system (DC30V-DC39V), 48V system (DC40V~DC60V) So In a scenario where the BMS has shutdown (no output voltage), the Solar Charge Controller is not seeing any battery to charge. so you need a direct charger. The BMS can only wake up after battery volts has increased above the shutdown volts, which can be achieved only by applying any of those actions suggested to you. My INEC LIFEPO4 battery has shutdown before and it was reactivated with the original charger. just plugged in the charger and it came up instantly less than 10 seconds. |

ojeysky: That said, I actually wish actual marketers on this thread actually share their experience when people ask questions NiyiOmoIyunade: I have used both Lead Acid and Lithium.
Lead Acid I started off with the typical sealed Luminous, Genus, Sinergy which all dissappointed then moved on to Flooded US Battery which also dissappointed then ultimately went for Lithium. When I say dissappointed, I mean they did not all make the promised cycle life despite being used within charge and discharge specs and best practices. For customer installations I used Quanta AGM which did better but mostly still fell short of the expected cycle life.
I ported to Lithium 2018/2019 ish, lived offgrid exclusively off 16 units of Pylontech US2000 - 3 years and several hundred cycles later they are still going strong and no discernible performance degradation, also Lithium allowed me to move from dreading customer calls (once you hear backup time is reducing you know lead acid don dey near end of life) to answering them with my full chest and only getting calls for capacity and feature upgrades and referrals for new business.
Really the bane of all battery systems is how to keep cells in series well balanced - whoever solves that problem will greatly extend his battery service life. The Lithium chemistries are mostly superior to lead acid but also a lot less forgiving of mistakes (overcharge/discharge) |

Bro, get a spanner and tighten the bolts yourself. It is a gimmick by most installers to have steady stream of income. They don't tighten the nuts enough to stop movement, so you will always call them to com and readjust the dish at a small fee. Note: Dont use all your strength to tighten it, just enough to stop it from been moved by small wind. Also, if your dish is on a pole stuck in the ground, make sure you mix cement and cast it. I have seen dishes installed by just sticking the pole into the ground, once there is a little wind, dish rotates which causes misalignment. |

ojeysky: If you do the maths putting cycle life, safe DOD, and C rates into consideration you will find that lithium is way cheaper than lead acid.
I have been using lithium over 2 years now and my cells still give me the same performance that I had from Day 1. My logs will tell you that I put my cells to low DOD but they are still bouncing. Some here have been using theirs for way more that 2 years..... I won't call that the future.
The only thought that came to me after I started using lithium was that I wish I started using it earlier and save some money I wasted on LA, but again maybe I will not have appreciated the difference over LA that much.
Ultimately each person with his own choices but there is enough information here for anyone who cares to be informed! Sometimes, I am just confused. What is the reason for the back and forth banter? Is it only Nigerians or it is the same world over. Someone posted is own opinion, suddenly it becomes a debate. Most times people are advised to buy Lithium if they can afford it, otherwise buy LA while they plan for the upgrade in future. May be the counter voices are dealers and are not happy with the reviews as it is not good for their business. |

It is too bad gadgethead: The authorities and their swift response to crime and swiftly making sure punishment is served is of utmost importance. If the US, German or UK authorities are also weak and corrupt, ritual killings and other gory crimes will be a everyday occurrence in these countries too.
Nigeria police have been known to aid and protect ritual killers in Nigeria This is the main reason for the increase. The law enforcement authorities are not doing anything to help the situation. I have also heard unverified stories of them killing and harvesting organs of people they are meant to protect. If you post derogatory video about a politician-governor, senator, minister, etc. The originator will be tracked and fished out immediately. Where as there are many videos online and social media, circulating on whatsapp of ritualist killing people , yet they can't be tracked and arrested. It is evidence of the complicity, you don't need to look far. |

ab221: Please someone should help me with answers 1. What type of LnB is this? (Was given to me amd was told it was bought 10 yrs back)
2. Why is it that if i put it some tp signals would increased and others that are working well with my ordinary lnb would have no signal? Anticipating your response. I suspect it is a quattro LNB, have you tried the other 3 ports? Quatro LNB have four outputs, each with one specific polarity/band combination (Horizontal high, Horizontal low, Vertical high, Vertical low). Vertical Low 13V 22KHz Tone of Band 10.7-11.7GHz LO 9750 MHz Vertical High 13V 22KHz Tone on Band 11.7-12.75GHz LO 10600 MHz Horizontal High 18V 22KHz Tone of Band 10.7-11.7GHz LO 9750 MHz Horizontal High 18V 22KHz Tone on Band 11.7-12.75GHz LO 10600 MHz These type of LNBs are designed to be used with Satellite multi-switches (1 LNB can be used to connect multiple decoders based on the number of ports on the multi-switch) Using Astra 2F (Eutelsat 28F) at 28.2°E Connecting your cable to Vertical Low you will receive these frequencies 11595V / 11635V / 11675V but cannot receive 12525 V and 12605 V because they are V High, you cant also receive any of the Horizontal signals. Connecting your cable to Horizontal High you cannot receive any signal on 11635H / 11675H even though they are Horizontal frequencies, there will be no signal also on all Vertical frequencies. You should try using all the ports to confirm it is a quattro LNB. |

It seems the PWM SCC is overcharging my batteries.
Whereas the PWM voltage shows 14.2v, but the inverter shows the batteries are at 15.3v. This triggers the Inverter over-voltage shutoff. The PWM has setting for 3 battery types BO1 is for flooded battery BO2 is for Lithium battery BO3 is for GEL battery.
Note that the inverter has not displayed the correct voltage.
Is there anything I can do while waiting for the arrival of the PowMr MPPT

ojesymsym: Thanks both of you for the clarification, but somehow I still do not really agree with the reasoning that having isolated earthing not bounded together should poise that much of a problem. NiyiOmoIyunade: What is frowned upon is isolating the ground rods hence all earth installations in a facility must be bonded together - this is primarily for personnel safety as the ground between two unbonded rods could become a conductor and kill persons or animals caught in the line of fire - apparently this used to happen a lot in the U.K and North America on farms and so on. You got your answer. |
