If your are using 2.4m dish your can actually pick Badr4/5/6 @ 26E and Astra @ 28.2E with a single LNB, that is if you can pick Badr4/5/6 from your location.

Sometime in 2010 while trying to track Badr with a 1.8m dish, I was able to get the Canal bouquet and MultiTV with a single LNB

You must be doing something wrong. if there is no signal a software upgrade will not bring out the signal. Check your connections and dish alignment.

you are under utilizing your dishes, Multi LNBs on the 1.8m can get you Arabsat 5C(Irib Package), Amos/W3C, Astra 2F(MultiTV), and Sirius

forget Invacom, instead use Inverto Red Classic.

odilibe, you will be surprised at the number of satellites with Africa ku beams, but most off. Apstar 7 @ 76.5E & ABS1 @75E, also have Africa ku beams covering south, east and west Africa

You have to check other dishes nearby and use as your reference. Multi-TV is facing the same direction as DSTV and angles is almost the same. Also try to change your LNB skew, i.e. rotate the LNB or change the polarity from V to H.

Freq 3838R, Sym 7235, FEC 3/4
The East Hemi beam covers the whole of Africa

pofolo: @ lunsat,some tp are found in most satelite frequency e.g 12303 is on nilesat, hotbird, eutelsat 16.
also the tp 12727 h 27500 is on all these satelite positions and ses5.
hence, if you have that tp on any sat where it is active, it will pop green but it showing will be dependent on your dish position and disec setting if multiple dishs.

if it pop up on 36east and you dont have a dish pointing to 4.8east after blindscannig, it will be red on zuku package channels, but green on all channels on 36east because of the presence of the dish @ 36east.

Stop mixing issues here. a dish is pointed to sirius @ 4.8E and after scanning, channels on Zuku package are scanned in, but when you go to such channels it shows "NO SIGNAL" and the signal bar is red.

I have also experienced this and very interested to know more or why.

Lunsat: People, my srt 4930 thinks I am in the northern hemisphere when I am in the southern hemisphere. So to move my dish east I must press west on the remote and to move west I must press east. The STB writes "Moving east" when in fact its moving west and I just can't believe that the designers didnt include a way of correcting this. I use an HH motor.Does anyone know how to correct this? I know on a jack motor I would just swap the power cables but I am stumped what to do on an HH motor. Any ideas?

change your settings Longitude from W to E and Latitude from N to S

All PayTV providers upgrade their receivers from time to time and it is normally done OTA. Multi-TV is also selling Strong Decoders, I believe big brother must be threatening them plus the dog has been chewing mercilessly all bones thrown at it. Decoder upgrading is twofold here, one is to take out pirate boxes, two is to close the gate that gives access to dogs for a free meal.

@brainy, are u getting up to 90% and above signal on your SES5. I will be in P-Town this weekend to do a multi-LNB installation for a friend.

@I Hacked, my china clone meter controls my HH Motor using diseqc 1.2, no usals. Satellite positions can be saved with the diseqc 1.2 . The problem i experienced was with the limits. After setting my west limits the motor couldn't move westwards past the 0 position again and disabling limits/resetting didn't solve the problem. I had to clear the limits setting using a decoder.

Congrats on the revival of your Comstar dish. I've not had time to do the C-Band on small dish (100cm) dish. Traffic jam starts from Shagolo, Eff Rnd About, PTI, and finally Okuokoko Military checkpoint and wake up again 5.00 am next day. It hasn't been easy oh. All the materials are available, but no time. I have been waiting for you to do justice as usual, especially on the new Sats/C-band frequencies. cheers

I'm also in Warri, and don't experience the signal fluctuations on my setup.

Most decoders don't have all the satellites name or even TPs, just use any free ku-band satellite, input the TP/symbol rate, track and blindscan.

The decoders of Satellite TV Providers are normally upgraded Over The Air (OTA). DSTV, HiTV, MyTV, Sky, OSN, etc do so from time to time when new software is available. If your decoder is not the same brand and model the software is meant for it won't upgrade. But if it is the same it will upgrade not minding whether it is original or fake, and sorry if it is fake because the upgrade will damage the decoder. Solution out of this problem is if you know it is fake, turn off OTA upgrade or change the upgrade TP. There is always a particular TP used by the provider to transmit and the decoder is set on to receive OTA.

SES S.A. announced Friday that the ASTRA 2F satellite has successfully completed its in-orbit testing and is now fully operational and in commercial service at the orbital neighborhood of 28.2/28.5 degrees East. The 52nd SES satellite was successfully launched board an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou, French Guiana, on September 28, 2012.

ASTRA 2F was built by Astrium in Toulouse using a Eurostar E3000 platform. The multi-mission satellite carries Ku-band and Ka-band payloads for the delivery of high-performance Direct-to-Home (DTH) and next generation broadband services in Europe and Africa. Of the spacecraft's payload, 48 Ku-band transponders cover Europe and 12 Ku-band transponders are dedicated to sub-Saharan Africa, while 3 Ka-band transponders will allow SES Broadband Services to support download speeds of up to 20 Mbps.

ASTRA 2F is part of a larger fleet replacement and expansion programme at the 28.2/28.5 degrees East neighborhood, consisting of ASTRA 2E, 2F and 2G, that provides replacement and growth capacity for the UK and Ireland as well as for other services in and outside of Europe. ASTRA 2E and ASTRA 2G, also under construction with Astrium, are scheduled for launch in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

The ones being sold by Nigerian dealers are not compatible with our geographic zone, that is, latitude. They are mainly designed for the European and American markets. Minimum Latitude the HH motors can be set to is 20degrees North.
