It was an helpless situation on Saturday night around 8:45 pm when my Honda civic broke down on a federal lonely road. With no option, I left it hoping it will be fixed on Sunday morning but the mechanic couldn't so the car spent another night as we couldn't tow it. The towing vehicle knowing that we wouldn't want to leave the car in such an environment requested for a crazy fee but I couldn't oblige to it as I can't afford such to tow the vehicle to a safe distance, it's pure extortion!

Its 10:40pm right now in the middle of the jungle and this is a live socket with current lying next to my bed. Access to electricity 247, something I don't even have access to in the city.

The red dot is our location, can you see our 2 host communities? Though our farm fell on the land of the closest community but just by the boundary to the farthest community with farmers from those communities.

As at this morning, our fencing net is 70% completed

The sound is actually to repel wild animals who may want to move closer to take a look at the bright lights, it's like we are marking our boundaries from predators.

The red dot is our farm, see how far it is to the closest settlement/community.

The noise of the animals has reduced since we installed the lightening and sound, by this weekend, we will stop the sound to observe the environment.

So after I was thoroughly bashed on this threat https://www.nairaland.com/7544500/far... by illicit and callmetrinity for not taking an irrational decision that could stem from my emotion or a violent means in engaging those attacking our farm, a fellow forum member based outside the country was moved by my calm responses as the gbas gbos continues hence reached out to inquire about the veracity of the project or it's only a clout chasing. Though troubled but I was calm to engage everyone in the DM and this person has lend a hand of support by introducing me/us and the concept of the project to his community of organic farmers abroad who are quite willing to support.

We have gotten some materials such as flood light and installed as captured in the footage while a sheep breeder has also promised to support with 4 colony of sheep for breeding. The idea is divided into 2 parts, the first part is to study the breeding process of the animals within the same colony after being introduced into our climatic region while the second part is to study the cross breeding process of the animals with other local selected breed.

Also, mobilization was also made for a farm assistance, hence i'm no longer the only one here and and needless to say we have almost enough net to carve out the 3 acres of land to restrict the animals from grazing outside the safety perimeter. Just this morning, I also receive a message about some materials to be expected which include solar powered CCTV camera, Starlink broadband internet among other things. Yes, the same Starlink internet from Elon Musk.

I'm grateful to God for making such an amazing opportunity come my way, I'm grateful to the moderators for support ideas of entrepreneurs in the forum by putting their contents on the frontlines where it can be seen by people and finally grateful to Seun, the creator of this great online community.

Akuo is referred to as a subsistent style of farming in a wetland area especially during the dry season. Most times during the rainy season, the wetland us usually avoided because of how loose the soil could be and could be dangerous as it can suck up someone but during the dry season, Akuo farmers eke a living usually from vegetable that generally has about 45 - 55 days of maturity period and pepper is usually transplants into the wetland for fruiting.

Good morning guys, an incident happened over the weekend which I would love to share with you guys so you can help judge the case because some of my friends are insisting I handled it wrongly.

A couple of my military friends, a navy officer and a soldier came into town last week and proposed to take my girlfriend out so we proceeded to her to pick her up from school. On our way we stopped by a fueling station to get fuel so I gave them a location to go wait for me while I take a bike to pick her up since the queue was a bit much. On our way out of school we came across two guys on the walk way, they exchanged glances and asked each other "what", one of the guys happened to be her coursemate that she already told me about sometime ago.

According to her, the guy used to be an errand boy for a notorious cult guy that used to ask her out during her first year, so the said guy was the one always coming to deliver messages to her. she didn't want to get involved with cultists so she would normally leave the guy hanging around without giving him a response to the messages. After the guy asking her out left the school the guy somehow started nursing a grudge against her.

While we stood at the school gate waiting for a bike the guy showed up again, this time with five guys with him and accosted my babe. He demanded to know why she talked to him rudely, before she could say jack he landed a jaw shattering slap on her cheek that nearly sent her sprawling to the ground. I was embarrassed but had to apply wisdom because the area wasn't my territory coupled with the fact that I was obviously out numbered. I held the guy's hand when he proceeded to slap her again and asked him why he would embarrass me by hitting a lady that was with me. Meanwhile my girlfriend was behind my back hurling insults at the guy saying stuff like he had the gut to hit her because he has started moving with cultists and other stuff I don't recall.

While I was trying to placate the situation, I noticed more guys closing in on us and knew I would be in danger if I didn't leave the place. I somehow managed to get a bike and took her away. My military friends were furious when they heard what happened insisted we go back to the school. I told them to die the matter because even if they are military guys we were still out numbered and we might get seriously injured before their backup comes.

They insisted on going back to the school, we went and as expected didn't meet any of the guys. They made a report to the school security and promised to come back the next day. On our way back they kept making calls and arranging a squad that would pick up the guy the next day while I kept trying to make them see reasons why it was going to be a bad move.

Firstly they can't possibly apprehend all the cultists in the school so arresting the guy will simply make the girl a moving target for the rest of the members and I wasn't willing to take that risk for someone that has just a couple of months to graduate. We might go and display power in the school and go back home while the girl will be all alone in the school without any form of protection, its not like they are going to assign a personal bodyguard to her. What if matters go south and a life or even lives get lost, it would be embarrassing to hear that it was all because of a girl that will move on to the next guy in a matter of weeks if anything happens to me. I was finally able to convince them and make them stand down.

The following day I brokered a peace meeting between my girlfriend and the guy through the cult guy's cousin that was also her friend though I didn't show up at the location. I even asked her to apologize to the guy for insulting him just to massage his ego so the matter could die down. My girlfriend recorded everything while the guy kept threatening her that she wasn't going to graduate for insulting him because she was with a guy. He went on to say that I was the target of the attack because they thought I would react to the assault on her and maybe fight back. They were even laughing at her that she's dating a coward that couldn't defend her in an attack, I just smiled.

My girlfriend was upset that she had to apologize to someone that hit her, but I told her that sometimes we have to choose our fights wisely. You don't go into a fight with someone that doesn't have anything to lose. Some of my friends feel I am a coward but I still feel I handled it the best way. What do you guys think??.....sorry for the epistle or any errors.

And as you've rightly said, you don't fight with someone that has nothing to loose. Even if you want to deal with him then your girl must have been isolated from the likely ripples and fall back and if you don't have the opportunity to deal with him, you're still better off by dousing a pending catastrophe without escalating further. Kudos!

Not everyone will be bruce lee, secondly everywhere around the world the law on self defense is clear, you must present proof beyond reasonable doubt that the case of whatever assault or death caused is as a result of self defense..lets assume he struck the perpetrator to death,how does he prove that its self defense.its the wee hours of the morning, its an open farm, the dead had no weapons, the killer has no marks or witnesses. Police will just assume murder that was premeditated as a result of the earlier land dispute, it will even be worse if no one in that community likes the op..

I can see a lot of maturity in your words, besides all these animals are replaceable, what can replace a life if lost? On a one on one, I'm more fit plus I had a weapon and he wouldn't have expected me to be where I was. I was able to thought about every likely outcome and it never favored me hence staying put.

These are people notorious for killing and roasting peoples goat especially during rainy/planting season and I have an active case against them, a single drone that will capture them in the act as they're roasting any animal is enough to indict and fire up the ass for every of our livestock they've killed. They've been doing it for a long time and I'm certain it will end in this era.

Their welfare and education, how are you handling that. I like to see a dedicated young person and will always encourage them to be a better version of themselves
