@HG: lol, dont worry, i have done so much research and am ready to take on the challenge of exercising pregnant. Infact i purchased a prenatal dvd that came in 4 parts (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimesters and post natal bootcamp) just to mix things up so i dont get bored.the all have cardio/toning and a yoga. I intend to use my elliptical religiously for its low impact. I also intend to do lots of strength training with my heavy dumbells so i dont lose the muscles i have worked so hard to build. So help me God. I still maintain my goal of 200 fitness minutes weekly for now, that is if i have the strength as i am soooo weak these days. Looking forward to the 2nd trimester when i'll be myself again. |
@HG:oh sorry, i was not explicit enough. I mean i am 7wks pregnant and have to hold on on the weightloss and also have to modify whatever i do. I intend to keep up the fitness routine though, which i have been doing. |
@HG:oh sorry, i was not explicit enough. I mean i am 7wks pregnant and have to hold on on the weightloss and also have to modify whatever i do. I intend to keep being active though. |
hey all, i have soooo much to catch up on. I have been away for a while. Welcome to all newbies, congrats to all who have lost some weight, ronke, HG and co welcome to those who have been away for a while uche, modath....... I was only able able to do 60 minutes out of the 200 minutes target i set for myself. This week i did 90 minutes of the 200 minutes. Hoping next week will be better. I have to modify whatever i do now cos i am about 7 weeks gone now and nausea, fatique etc is getting the better. Eating is no longer interesting and as a result, i hardly have the energy to exercise. I am praying and hoping that i'll feel much better soon so that i can exercise the way i want to. Have a good weekend all. |
hello house, good to see you are all doing well. Yes, i was able to log 230 fitness minutes last week. i am setting a target of 200 minutes (minimum) this week again. Have a great week all. All the best to Echala, HG and all that have set goals for the week. |
hey all, good to know we are keeping we are keeping on. Welcome back sammie. Good to have you backed all fired up. @all: i shall give my weekly report by saturday hopefully. I am not doing badly at all, so proud of myself.have been working out for at least 40 minutes everyday except yesterday. |
well done HG. hey all how are you all doing? I am god even though have not been at my best. was only able to achieve 130 minutes of fitness last week. my goal again for this week is to achieve at least 200 fitness minutes. have a great week all. |
all the best HG, here is wishing u the best of luck. And you truly deserve that reward oh for your achievement. |
yey all good to be back here. @HG: yaaaaayyyyy for you. Wow, you did it, ran your 5k.am so proud of you. @babs:hmmmmmm, concerning the weightloss hormones, why not advice her to lose weight the healthier way which is what she is embarking on now. Its the safest and has more lasting results. I have never heard of the pill as i do not really care about weightloss pills. I have never been tempted to try any cos i always believe the come with side effects. Yes, i am back now, even though my busy schedule almost made me to go off track but i refused it. My goal this week is to log not less than 200 fitness minutes. Lets start from there and see how it goes. |
hey all,how una dey. I can see the thread is bubbling. I have beeen soooo sooo busy. Work has been crazy for the past weeks. I still manage to exercise at least 3 times every week but could at last week. Just exercised once last week. Work is easing up a bit so i should resume fully now. @babs: eyaa, so sorry about your loss. God will bless u with yet another one in Jesus' name.take heart dear. |

I read the interview modath quoted too. I also read an interview where she said is is open to an intimate with anyone (an if i remember, that included male and female).chei nawa of, and to hear that bob harper is gay too ![]() ?oh how sad. But like you all said, my dvds remain with me, lol |

@uche:thanks @HG:Thanks. I personally dont think there is anything wrong with bananas.they can be really feeling.i know they are high in calories and so should be eaten in moderation.coincidentally, i had some really nice bananas yesterday. Pele, your uncle will be fine in Jesus' name and your mum too. Hope she didnt get injured. On another note, its good to know that she is into this fitness thingy too.it feels so good. Its about hardwork and determination, but i can assure you it does work. you will be glad you did. |
hey all, lovely thread here. I have been a silent follower of these thread and have seen that its such a lovely one. @agiboma:thumbs up, great job. I am not pregnant to start with, just popped in to answer a few questions. @every pregnant woman:God will see u thru and u'll deliver like the hebrew women did in Jesus' name. @timok4kri: for pregnancy exercise videos, u can send me a mail mightlovemm@gmail.com and i will let u know how u can get them. @diamondlove and all those going thru difficult pregnancies, God will glorify Himself in your lives in Jesus' name. @avatur: i worked until the day i had my baby. My mat leave was to start on a monday, a day before my EDD, i had him on the friday prior to that monday,i.e. My last day in the office and 4 days to my EDD. I went from the office cos labour started as soon as i got to the office in the morning. It just felt like menstrual cramps and gradually increased in intensity but was very bearable compared to when i was induced. Cldnt stay so hubby took me to d hospital and on our way, my water broke, by the time i got to the hospital in the space of less than 2 hrs, i was 6cm dilated. But that was where it stopped oh. I was induced was couldnt progress so i had an emergency CS.anyway, the long and short is that God was merciful to mean and my son. I was obviously not wide enough for a first baby of his size. He weighed 4.1kg at birth. All the while, he never engaged but i didnt understand the implication. The frequent urge to urinate that women feel towards their EDD was never experienced by me but i didnt know since i had never been there before. Anyway, make i end am for here. Let me reserve space for my next birth story, which i believe is coming soon. This one na birth story 2 years after, lol. Make una no mind me oh. |
@ronky:pele oh, just take it easy with yourself.you deserve the rest after all the hardwork. |
@all:its been a while. I have been unavoidably away from the thread. I will be back soon. I have been going through a lot lately and have not been able to put myself together to workout.worked out lat about a week ago. When its all over, i shall testify to the glory of God here on this thread. I have been eating right though and have not really added. @HG love:thanks jare for checking. You are doing so so well in both your food logs and exercise. @babs:wow,congrats dear. @modath:you mean you are now 77kg? You are such an inspiration. You may not know but you were my main motivation when i joined the thread. Your introductory message on the forum was so inspiring.i had to save it on my system.i read it again this afternoon and something inside of me told me, you can do it too. Back then i never knew a forum like sparkpeople existed and even then, reading about the success story of a Nigerian brought it closer home. Let me log my food even though i have not been exercising. I try to keep a food journal so that i dont go overboard, even though i dont log here. Logs for yesterday 16/5/12 BF:1.5 cup of rice with a little stew (measured after cooking using the standard measuring cup) Lunch:half a fist size amala with lots of vegetable with okro and a piece of liver Dinner: 3 small mangoes, about 4 forks spaghetti cooked with vegetables water:over 3 litres I have the habit of eating about 5 mini meals daily but i have been managing to eat 3 times these days so that my body does not go into starvation mode logs for today 17/5/12 BF:1.5 cooking spoon of spaghetti L:2 big mangoes D:1 medium size moimoi water:over 2 litres |

Burntcoal: Pls i wanna ask that can just joggin 4 1hour a day reduce body fat? Or wat exactly can help i can't seem 2b gettin myself again, am getin fat at every sec even widout eatin. Oti su mi o.*sobbin quietly* pls help fellow nairalandershey burntcoal, i remember you joined the forum sometime back and disappeared. if you really want to see results, consistence is very important. what have you been doing to yourself since that time? and to answer your question, yes running 1hour every day will make you lose body fat. its an effective form of cardio but you need to combine it with healthy eating. you will also need to include strength training a few times a week to improve your muscle tone. if run 1hr daily for most days of the week, you will surely see results. it way take a little while before you or people start noticing the results but you will surely see results. so please, stop crying and get active, the key to your weight/fat loss is in you hands. |
CarlosDopipi: Hey Guys am backreally, what is this bootcamp going to be like. How do you people intend to go about it? |

logs for yesterday 19/4/12 debbie siebers slim in 6(burn it up) have a lovely weekend all. |
hey peeps, I am loving my body. I now believe the best way to lose weight is to do it gradually and tone up with weights while you lose. My body is so firm. My boobs and every other part of my body looks firm. Yes i still have a tummy but it is going gradually and firming up, it doesnt look flabby. I have lost weight in the past but didnt have a toned body because i achieved it through cardio only. Now i know the the importance of strength training as part of a weightloss program. @HG:pele, welldone jare. How long is your challenge going to last? |
hey all, so much activity on the thread. All ye newbies, welcome to the thread. All ye passers by and advisers, thanks for stopping by. All ye hawkers of weightloss products, HG has said it. We believe in eating 'sensibly'(adapted from modath) and exercising to lose weight. Congrats on the loss freshface. Babs, well done. Kobojunkie, good to read your post after all this while. Ronke:congrats on the inches lost. I am experiencing same here. I have stopped wearing some of my clothes cos the fit losely, and all those clothes i wore last in 3 years are now beginning to fit.some fit snugly, some just okay.dont plan on shopping for new clothes just yet. That will be done after my next baby cos i will still need these ones when am preggy. Afterwards, they will all be donated for the needy. Logs for the past days 17/4/12 22 minutes on the elliptical machine 18/4/12 Debbie Siebers slim in 6, burn it up. Have a great day all. |
