More banks will follow this route and the common man may have to port fully to fintechs.
Some other banks will welcome those customers with open arms.
Some banks did something like that in early 2000s and they lost most of their their customers to GT bank.

There will not be any meaningful recovery if the CGT introduced by this govt. remains. Nobody wants to pay 25% of their gains to a govt that does so little in their lives.

This should be on the joke section because Turkey must be joking. Shame on Turkey, after allowing IDF to use your air space for genocide against the Palestine.
Ignorance and lies!
Surely, you don't know what you say about this issue. How would Israel use Turkey's airspace before it could blast the hell out of the Arabs called Palestine, which is virtually past of Israel.. Israel does not even share borders with Turkey .

I’ve already shared my take on CGT, but you guys didn’t like it, so why bring it up again? I clearly showed that selling now isn’t necessary, and I even gave you a simple way to reduce the tax by rotating into another stock, even the same one would work.

How sure are you that what’s happening is actually CGT-related? We’ve had similar red periods earlier this year, long before the CGT issue came up, so how can you be so certain? I come in peace ooo. cheesy
Many are selling to pre-empt the usual lull in the market in Dec when prices go south and, this time around, there is little hope for recovery or rebound in January due to CGT, hence making the reds sticky.

I told people that Access could reach 20, and they said it wasn’t possible, lol. I can tell you for free, if Zenith hits 50, AccessCorp would have already gone below 20 long before that.
If the CGT madness is not reversed, virtually every stock will be affected. Some may be affected more or quicker than others, but all stocks will get a hit eventually and it would be opportunity for bargain hunters to accumulate.

The only direction for the market for the remainder of this year is southward unless something changes. Who would put money in a RI/PO when you can get it cheaper on the floor?
If they really mean business, those with PO can pump up the price and sustain it there using MM until the PO is over

Most of the people buying public offers and right offers are just recycling their capital by selling their current shares in order to take up their rights or buy public offers.

Looking for a total of N470 billion in November.

Bank sef that have been paying dividends consistently for 10 years are finding it difficult to raise the required funds

I think some of these offers in November won't be successful
This may discourage some banks from declaring dividends this year in order to meet capital requirement

It will be counter-intuitive to attempt a fund raising now with the current state of the market.
It depends on how/where the funds is raised, and if they can meet their target e.g. via private placement if there's a strategic investor, or rights/public offer if the price is attractive for investors to buy.
If they raise the funds now, it may help improve 2025 balance sheet and help them start 2026 on a better footing, otherwise they would wait until Q2 2026, and the share price may decline further.

99.5% of Nigerians no get liquid assets of N200 million
The point is, what is the real worth of the N200m?
Things are bad now such that a single economy policy by a govt can make that money lose value overnight.
A country where prices of goods and services can just double or triple overnight just like that.
A bottle of water was N30 just a few years ago. Today, it is selling for N200-N300.
It is the trend and fear of inflation.

People need to be reminded that bull will not continue forever. The bull has been around for some times now that many now view any red as an aberration.
While nobody might say exactly when we will enter a bear market,we all must not forget that the stock market runs in a cycle.
Historically, your point is totally correct.
However, for the current situation the horizon does not look good for a recovery because of the CGT.

Over hyped crap. Ain't nothing going to happen.
Trump is using the moomoo Christians in Nigeria to distract people from talking about the Epstein files and his failures in the economy.
He will drop.one bomb in Smbisa and eill claim that he has killed all terrorists in Nigeria.
Soludo just said that Christians are killing Christians in the SE. Chai, democracy go abuse this man tire for speaking the truth. grin
Stop being silly!
The killings in the SE are not because the victims Christians.
The killings in the North are partly because the victims are Christians. Didn't you see when Deborah Samuel was killed in Sokoto?
Have you heard anybody killed in the SE or SW because he/she blasphemed against the Bible or Koran?

With all modesty , I have multiple of that in my NGX and my money markets but that doesn't mean I will look that amount less. I don't live in Nigeria, I'm well travelled, so I can tell you for a fact that if you take care of your daily needs and you have 137K ( N200M ) saved , you are RICH by the world standard.

No be everybody wan be like Dangote. It's all about mindset . No be everybody wan build by 5 , 6 duplexes. Some people are very much okay with a bungalow, after all , house Na house. No be everyone wan buy Lamborghini , some people are okay with their Toyota. No be everybody wan buy super yacht and private jets.

No need for unnecessary pressure
Kudos to you for what you have and the positive mindset too.
