megawealth01:Welcome back, Bro. Your moniker has been scarce in the past few days! As for that man, when I say he is totally clueless and incompetent, e get why! This is typical example. I think he became president when he had gone past his ''prime''. |
FreeStuffsNG:Dangote should not even give NNPCL anything more than the 7% that they have. Allowing NNPCL to have higher stakes in the refinery would empower unions like PENGASSAN and NUPENG to have more influence and possibly hold the refinery to ransom in future. |
bovali:Oh, so Ellah has a clear, beautifully laid report after all.!!! Our dear Ellah has suffered attacks on NGX for no fault of hers on the quality of the report! Guys are not smiling at all. Any small thing na ''gbas gbos'',...Japual, Ellah, Oando, etc God has saved Ellah from the possible interrogation by ''investigative journalists'' ![]() |
Ginalex:In fact, interest rates on T. Bills and fixed income instruments would drop in due course if this CGT is not suspended or reversed. |
KarlTom:Those who benefit from chaos is like what the Yoruba call ''ari je ni madaru''? Yes, I agree, but such ''positive'' is usually for a minority few. I like your positive vibes too! ![]() |
jonnysessy:Truly, this may be an opportunity if one has the means and the patience to wait until the govt reverses or scraps the CGT.. Financial crisis and Covid-19 provided such opportunity. This CGT may be another opportunity for those who want to buy, but not so good for sellers. |
KarlTom:It is just to stress the point that some chaos may be too bad that no one would be able to take advantage of any meaningful opportunity. The word ''chaos'' can mean a lot of things beyond what we can imagine. |
KarlTom:I say it again: May ''Gaza chaos'' not happen to you. Just say ''Amen'', .....Finish |
NSEstudent:Yes, he is. |
PETERiCHY:I thought you said you retired sometime ago. ![]() This fire you bring come inside ''retirement'' is strange ooo. How retiree go dey cause kasala like this? |
NSEstudent:Are you referring to the tax law or what Taiwo wrote? |
KarlTom:Wow. Wema Bank! Share price N20; Private placement N11. About 45% discount just like that! |
KarlTom:May ''Gaza chaos'' not happen to you. You for no say ''real chaos'' pass ''motivational chaos'' |
The destruction of the capital market has just started....all because of someone's reckless thirst for easy, free money even though there is nothing concrete to show after borrowing and borrowing billions of USD, removing subsidy on fuel, electricity, floating currency to earn more revenue, increasing tuition fees etc. Now, they are going after investors to extort them in the name of CGT. Cluelessness and incompetence cannot be resolved by ''throwing revenue'' at every thing or problem. |
KarlTom:When people die from the chaos, what ''opportunity'' or ''situation'' would they ''take charge'' of? |
KarlTom:Okay ooo. I hear you. |
KarlTom:Investors are wary and disturbed while the Taiwo Oyedele (I doubt he has investment in listed companies) is junketing around promoting the CGT, just because he is desperate to impress the man who appointed him......the sycophancy and hypocrisy that Sanusi said is destroying the country |
KarlTom:Negative market sentiment all because of CGT....when desperation to extort/steal from investors by all means destroys things. |
edwardaigb:I hope he is fine too. He has been very scarce in the last one week or so. But I think I saw some posts by him a few days ago. |
GeeKudi:When they eventually succeed in driving investors away from the market, we will see if Taiwo Oyedele and his cohort of sycophants who cannot muster enough courage to tell Tinubu that the CGT is retrogressive and anti-investment, would mobilize their own set of investors to come and trade in the market and pay govt. possibly 23.56% or 30% as CGT |
Anither563:It is because Trump designated the USD Vice President,Vance to receive Tinubu. |
essentialone:I read that Conoil PAT declined by 85%. The share price will be badly affected going forward because of Dangite refinery. Adenuga may have to merge the upstream business with the listed downstream in order to sustain Conoil perfornance or delist the downstream business in the long run. |
SonofElElyonRet:Lol. ![]() Okay, "Ellahites" would do then. |
alfajohn:Shonibare estate nitori olohun! ![]() I support you and pray it happens because my head dey there too. |
SonofElElyonRet:Are you sure the spelling of the profane word is exactly what is being used here? A difference in 1 single alphabet can change the meaning....."e" is not same as "a" |
Agbalowomeri:Lol ![]() Agba, there is no big deal. Let him chop. One day go be one day. Signs of improvement are obvious but gradual. The N420b bad debt recovery is commendable but you would not see that one. There are 4 quarters annually, so a one-off event that was recorded in 1st quarter will be carried forward in the accounts for 2nd to 4th quarter, but will not reappear in Q1 next year unless a similar even reoccurs again . |
funkymedina2: Investigative journalists ke? The title of this episode should be ''Ellah and the Kpakites''! I am the floor rolling with ribs cracking ![]() |
Just a quick observation on Oando Q3 2025 Results: The debt recovery of a huge N420b (Note 4) from a related entity looks curious: I hope this is not a strategy to acquire the remainder 3billion shares (for redistribution) and pay off minority shareholders? ![]() On the other hand, the N109.7b Operating loss was mainly due to a N311.567b fair value loss on modification of financial asset (Note 4), which is a one off thing, hence the Operating result could have been different if this was treated or classified differently. |
adamx23:But again, it will depend on whether what you are going to sell next year is less than N150m AND your gain is also less than N10m; otherwise you would be taxed. |
