Sunrisepebble:I prefer comparing current year Q3 results with the figures per prior year audited accounts e.g. as at 31-Dec-2023. That, to me, gives a more realistic comparable picture, as most figures in prior year Q3 results would have been revised in the audited accounts. Similar thing happened in Oando's results for Q3 2024 e.g. the profit in Q3 2023 was N110bn, but the final figure was even lower in the 2023 audited accounts. |
GeeKudi:The acquisition was officially completed around 3rd week of August 2024 hence its impact would not be seen much in Oando Q3 results at 30 Sep2024. Wait until Q4 2024 and beyond to see the full impact |
[quote author=HesInMe post=133328359]LOL. Someone didn't take Accounting 101. Receivables have already been recognized as sales. There's nothing to share. [/quotet] Some inter-co receivables may not necessarily be sales related. For Oando, let us wait for the details as may be discussed at the AGM. |
megawealth01:Could this be @Megawealth recommending Oando to anyone in this world? Am I dreaming? or reading correctly? Wonders shall never end.! Now, I am beginning to believe that Oando may have a bright future after all. When @Megawealth recommends a stocks, you know what follows! |
megawealth01:Lol! ![]() |
designking:Axxela is no longer owned by Oando. Oando divested and sold Axxela off some years ago |
femisplash:Not all JVs have the same sharing formulae. Stop making general comments about things that you know little about. Read news below to update yourself https://africaoilgasreport.com/2024/05/farm-in-farm-out/nnpc-to-hold-70-of-the-jv-as-the-exxonmobil-seplat-transaction-comes-to-a-close/ |

olyrayy:Go read current NNPC/NUPRC publications on the transaction. It is a common knowledge in the oil and gas industry I posted a source earlier |
femisplash:The "assets" means the assets under the JV, which is the share of crude oil coming from the JV. What relationship does Mobil have with NNPC if not the JV? A company cannot lay claim to another company assets unless they have a business relationship or agreement e.g intragroup, partnership or JV etc |
femisplash:I know what I am saying and not mixing anything . What I said from the beginning is that the JV between Mobil and NNPC was 40:60. However when NNPC objected to the sale by Mobil to Seplat, the new ratio was adjusted to 30:70 in favour NNPC in order to appease NNPC and settle the case out of court. Seplat inherits 30 percent of the JV while NNPC keeps 70 percent . NNPC went to court to stop the sale because of the JV and that is what matters to them. NNPC is not bothered about what percentage of ownership Sepat has in Mobil. |
femisplash:https://africaoilgasreport.com/2024/05/farm-in-farm-out/nnpc-to-hold-70-of-the-jv-as-the-exxonmobil-seplat-transaction-comes-to-a-close/ NNPC got 10percent more, SEPLAT share is now 30percent instead of 40percent. That is what settled the issue. |
femisplash:Go and reconfirm the new JV ratio after the settlement of the dispure. The original ratio in the JV was Mobil 40 : NNPC 60. After the settlement of the didpute NNPC got additional 10percent from Mobil's share, hence making a new total of 70percent and Mobil sold the balance 30percent to SEPLAT. Reuters does not know more than NNPC/NUPRC in this matter. |
femisplash:Stop the twists and misrepresentation. Tinubu did not dismantle any barrier. It was the NNPC that went to court to challenge the sale by Mobil to Seplat because they (NNPC) believed they had the first right of refusal as agreed in the JV contract. As a compromise to settle out of court, Mobil agreed and gave additional 10percent to NNPC and sold the remaining 30percent to Seplat (instead of the initial 40percent). That is what resolved the problem. Tinubu did not do anything special or spectacular. Stop hyping people who have not done anything ! |
SAK:Tuesday Dec17 is AGM and qualifying date for distribution of additional shares to Oando shareholders |
Princkez:Oando is not moving because they did not disclose the ratio for the impending distribution of shares in the financial restructuring that was announced. I don't understand why that information is not disclosed. Well, we wait and see next Tuesday Dec 17, 2024 |
Thebigthing:Please provide the address in Surulere |
BabsO2:Exactly! Oando's major problem is funding challenges occasioned by the switch from downstream to the upstream sector which is highly capital intensive |
Saywhat10:Stop telling lies and twisting what he said. He was born in Ghana but raised by his step mother who is a Nigerian. The whole family were living in Ghana with his dad. However there was a time when the Ghana military did a coup and his father, a politician at the time, had to relocate to Nigeria for some time and he (the now president) had to come and stay with the step mother in Offa for some years. But they all went back to Ghana when things returned to normal. So he was raised largely in Ghana but by a Nigerian step mother. Coming to stay in Offa temporarily for a few years in his youth is not the same as being raised there. |
BabsO2:The market is in Xmas/New Year mood. It is usually bearish in this period and prices hardly move up. |
megawealth01:Whatever Wale does, one day, I will surely sell some of Oando and move the funds to TB once the price gets to my target range and then leave only few units behind for possible price gains/dividends in the distant future. Price (capital) appreciation in the medium term is my main target for buying Oando. |
Choiceguy:I think it depends on what the SEC/NGX regulations say. The Q3 2024 result was not mentioned in the Notice of AGM so I think they can hold the AGM without it |
yMcy56:Hope the good news materialize soonest. Guys need money early in the new year |
megawealth01:Have you garnered some intel on Oando of recent? Your new-found interest is very eye-catching and suspicious. |
Omooloriredade:My guy @Omooloriredade, I thank you and several other guys here for all the peace-making interventions in good faith. My main focus here is to use meaningful information, education or knowledge garnered on this platform to enhance my chances of making good money from the NGX. Every other thing is secondary. Let's go back to our discussions on Oando and any other stocks with the potential to give us good money. I was not impressed with Oando's 50% increase in output but let's hope they can ramp it up to about 100% by first quarter of 2025. Just like @Megawealth, I also hope to be UNIVERSALLY INSURED heavily in few days time. |
megawealth01:I will surely report this to Pst. Chris. ![]() ''As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone'', with or without Oando issues |
God1000:''....but that does not underscore the fact that the greatest black nation on earth is the nation called Nigeria''. The above comment is totally unnecessary and should not have come from the VP. |
KarlTom:Lol! That is true.. |
Locotrader:This is one of the ways to make big returns if you have the mind, cash, and sure of the prospects of the stocks The higher the risk, the higher the reward. |
yMcy56:C'mon, this does not call for personal attacks. My comment did not attack any one. You could have said that you are impressed and okay with an increase of 50% or 30% or whatever. But asking me to go and help them achieve the 100% is totally uncalled for. The concern I raised is typical of what shareholders would talk about at AGM and even the directors and management would not say what you just typed. Let us limit ourselves to issues, principles and facts, and avoid personal attacks. Oando (and any other listed stocks) belongs to the investing public. Your response to issues (especially about Oando) is becoming too personal and too emotional in recent times and that is not the best. I think you can do better than that. The help I can offer them is to provide the funds, which I have done as a shareholder |
designking:I am not impressed with the 50% increase in output as announced by Oando. Before the acquisition, Oando, ENI and NNPC were in a JV with ratio 20: 20: 60 respectively After Oando acquired ENI, their share in the new JV is now 40%, which should automatically translate to an increase in output of 100% or thereabout. So why are they only achieving a 50% increase 3 months after the acquisition? Are they unable to fully exploit and produce from the fields? Oando should be reporting at least 80% increase in output by now, otherwise something more fundamental may be wrong e.g. inability to acquire rigs and other equipment to produce crude oil as much as possible. Experts in the oil and gas sector can educate me on this if I am mistaken. |
FreeStuffsNG:He does not have Nigerian blood or roots. His father only married a Nigerian Yoruba woman who took care of him at a stage in his life. |
