Deadlytruth: There is the need to exercise some restraint at this point, and then observe for sometime before making that dive. Remember very well that OANDO has just done over 500% capital appreciation in the past few weeks starting from about N14, but that it will take a much longer time for it to do 500% using its current price of N84+ as reference point. Good advice/caution; taken with thanks |

Special shout out to all others who didn't believe in the Oando's upward journey as well. You are all great. We are all good brothers and sisters. I know some of us are trying to watch each others back. Kudos to all. I exited Oando this morning with massive gain. I wish all others in the bus a smooth sailing. Good luck to you all. God bless you for the wonderful spirit and maturity you have shown. You entered Oando, exited with good gain, and still had the good spirit to wish others who are still on board good luck. Some other people entered Oando, exited, made money, and then turned themselves to doomsday prophets, wishing that Oando would crash soon, so they could feel good and be happy with themselves as ''smart investors''! That is life! |

bovali: You forget that anybody can now use phone and sign up to trade from the comfort of their home. So I expect a bigger bubble. You’re a TA guy, you monitor sentiment. Correct me if I’m wrong but what they paid 1.5bn for 20% is what they paid half price for now for another 20% 10 years later? Is Eni foolish? Read the financial statement, rather than dispute ENI just decided to waka pass. You’re a TA guy, you track sentiment. With more people in the market now, wouldn’t that inflate the bubble? My point is, if the ConocoPhillips deal was in 2024, you will see people converting the 1.5bn usd to naira and shouting the share price should be worth that amount. Again, not arguing o but even from a valuation perspective, I think luring anyone to enter now is a bit unfair I commend you for always trying to give in-depth analysis on stocks, especially as it concerns Oando. You may be 100% right in all your analysis and final conclusion. However, as regards the valuation of ConocoPhillips 20% share of the JV (at $1.5b) in 2011 and ENI's 20% share in same JV at ($.783b) in 2024, you make consider the following: i. As someone pointed, ENI had over $200m debt obligation due to Oando which was contained in the notes to the FS. Hence, the $.783b paid for ENI's asset is more likely a net-off sum, which then brings the total asset value to about $1billion. ii. The country-risk rating/profile of Nigeria in 2010-2013 was different from what obtains today, in 2024. Nigeria was surely more attractive to foreign investments in 2011-2013 than in 2014, hence such investments would command higher price(s) then than now. iii. The estimates of reserves in the various onshore and offshore assets are verified numbers known to both local and global players in the oil and gas industry, including NNPC and NUPRC (the regulators). If so, is it possible for one player (e.g. ENI) to sell wells with volumes lower than the proven reserves to another (e.g. Oando) without both parties and regulators conducting due diligence to verify the numbers? iv. Come to think of it: why is it that virtually all the oil majors (Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Addax, ENI, Equinor etc.) are leaving the onshore sector of Nigeria? Could it be because all the onshore assets are of poor or low quality and unsustainable reserve estimates or because of other factors like insecurity, community challenges, corruption, the environment, green/renewable energy etc.? I think a careful consideration of the above may provide further insights into some of the issues being discussed. Note: This is not to support or antagonize any opinion on the viability or otherwise of the ENI assets acquired by Oando. |

emmanuelewumi: They have the first claim to the asset of the business.
The bone of contention is assuming the total asset of a business belongs to the business without considering the banks and other financiers who have input to the totsl asset, what belongs to the business is the net asset which you will get after subtracting the total liabilities Please don't confuse things. The banks would only have claim to the assets of Oando if Oando is being liquidated and its assets are to be sold or realized to pay creditors. The question is: is Oando being liquidated and its assets being sold or realized to pay creditor at the moment? Definitely no. So that issue does not arise. All Oando needs to do is generate enough revenue and cash flow to pay the interest and principal according to the loan agreement. Finish! The banks cannot do anything to the assets unless Oando defaults or it is being wound up. |

Does the Agip company belong to Nigeria? The company belongs to ENI of Italy, so what is the noise about ? Oando does not import fuel from Malta and they do not own any refinery in Malta. NNPC and Oando have both confirmed that Oando does not own refnery or import fuel from Malta. It is Dantata (Dangote's cousin) and Matrix Oil that are importing fuel from Malta. Stop the lies about Oando just because of Tinubu. |

emmanuelewumi: Total asset minus total liabilities will give you the net asset.
The banks and other financiers have the first claim to the reported power plants and reserves.
The net asset gives a better picture of business The banks and financiers cannot do anything to the power plants and reserves of Oando once Oando is able to repay the loans with interests according to the terms of the agreement. What matters is to generate the revenue and earnings to be able to pay back, and that will come from the power plants and oil production from the reserves. It is the same principle for all companies including, Seplat. Most companies doing very well on the NGX also have huge debts but once they meet their loan obligations, no problem. |

I will consider it an offence,if he had bought more than one jet. What is defective in a 19 year old aircraft apart from need for prompt, regular maintenance? |

Why will OTEDOLA wait until FBN gets to #19 before buying when the same FBN stayed months on sub 3 and 4? brotherly: How many people were willing to sell at N5? Volume is determined by sellers when they feel the price is right. Many people were selling and dumping Oando at N5. If someone like me could buy the volumes I now have at around N5, then Wale could have bought as much as he needed. All he would have to do is to placee a standing instruction to his brokers /registrars to mop up all the units that he needed, even within the range of N5-N15 per share before the recent rise. |

brotherly: If Wale is the one buying, then it would be wise to hold onto the units I have. This indicates that he values each share more highly than the current trading price on the floor.
TA and FA sometimes are after the fact......sometimes you follow first and get explanation later Why would Wale wait until Oando shares are selling at N70 before buying when he could have bought much cheaper when the shares were selling at N5? The people buying are most likely new or institutional investors who now believe in the future prospects of Oando |

designking: I will buy this. I have sold all my Oando and left just 10,000 units for the future. Made about ₦3.6million on it.
Better education has taught me today that the fair price of Oando shares is ₦75 - ₦80. If we equate it with Seplat which has great fundamentals, it should be at most ₦172 per share. At ₦172 Oando will have same capitalisation as Seplat... Which is a long call. Oando is not yet ripe for ₦100 and above.
Note, this is just be own observation. Oando shares too many... It has 22times what Seplat has. This minute you are on, next minute you are off; again and again. |

ositadima1: When it comes to work ethics and conditions, Agip is the worst of them all. I once worked at the Ebocha Oil Center, one of their storage, preprocessing, and distribution fields, and I know what I witnessed there. Oando has been collaborating with Agip for quite some time—I remember seeing them during my time there. Most of the operations were already being run by Nigerians. I believe they had a few Italians at their gas plant in Omoku.
But do you really think the issues of insecurity, volatility, and asset theft will disappear once Oando fully takes charge? Those challenges will not disappear once Oando takes charge. But at least, we Nigerians understand ourselves better than the white man understands us. There are issues that we Nigerians can discuss and resolve faster under the tree or inside a small office in the nearby local government office or palace than a white man that is waiting for instructions from Rome or France |

BabsO2: Looking at number of shares SEPLAT has 588 million shares while OANDO 12,431 has Yes, that is what gives superior returns and higher value to shareholders of Seplat. My comparison is not based on the bottom line, but the top lines e.g. oil reserves, barrels of oil produced, turnover, number of OML/OPL etc. In terms of bottom line, Seplat has been more profitable, has fewer number of shares, pays dividend consistently and has a more stable management. |

$900-$1b looks more near to real price/ value if you consider what other oil major divestment figures were (including oando/ conoco) Okay, thanks |

robobo: You dont need to go too far. check the notes to the last FY report published by oando and you would see that oando and naoc where already in arbitration for a judgement debt of over >$200m which is heavily tilted in favour of oando (such that naoc had to quickly get an appeal against enforcement) the Oando-Naoc deal subsequent to that judgement was to be settled net of the judgement debt (this is also in the notes in the same financial report. Does that mean that Oando would have paid cash of about $583m for the ENI deal? |

ositadima1: Why did Agip agree to sell for just $783 million, not even reaching a billion, if the asset promises substantial returns? Were they under some juju when they signed it away to Oando? Also, it's more cheaper to build a new refinery rather than purchasing those existing ones, same with that Ajaokuta steel. You'll end up sinking a significant amount of money just to bring them up to functionality and modern standards. Take your time and conduct thorough research. There are various factors that big multinationals do consider, including the return on investment, the long term prospects, environmental issues, corruption, and prospects in other countries or regions. The $783m that ENI collected from Oando may be used to develop a fresh or bigger investment in other countries that would yield bigger returns to ENI in a more peaceful and politically stable environment. |
