lasisi: As he is currently helping Dangote Refinery, Dangote Sugar, MTN Nigeria, Nestle Nigeria with his govt policy induced FX losses. You missed the context of what he meant What he meant is that a president is expected to intervene where/when necessary to assist indigenous businesses as much as possible in legitimate business deals or negotiations with foreign multinational companies especially where such deals will be to the benefit of the Nigerian economy e.g. out of court settlements, quicker approvals etc. That is what Tinubu did for SEPLAT (which acquired ExxonMobil assets), Oando which acquired (ENI-AGIP assets) and another consortium that acquired the assets of SHELL Petroleum. But I concur that the economic policies of Tinubu are a disaster |

Oando has a 40% Working Interest (WI) in OML 13 (QUA IBO). That is WHY
Most of us here don't even understand the upstream business let alone know how to value Oando, a company with negative equity. Let's just keep watching, okay?
BTW, this has nothing to do with the NAOC acquisition that effectively doubles production.
Forgot to include disclaimer so here goes: Not a recommendation to buy or sell Oando as I'm not qualified to give any form of financial advice. I have also been wrong many times before. You are right this time. Make we follow you this time because you sabi the way. |

Eriokanmi: Rephrase...corrupt president who deliberately weakens institutions for selfish reasons. The story of the acquisition of agip by oando for exploration and importation of petroleum product's and those behind this shady deal and the blending facility in Malta as mentioned by dangote will shock you.
I only pity those illiterates supporting this man on empty stomach. Their lives are being mortgaged while they're still alive, smh! . Those in the national assembly who can't do their jobs are also culpable in the Nigeria's woes. They're mostly retired governors who have destroyed their states while serving their states Please stop typing in ignorance. Who told you the acquisition of Agip by Oando was a shady deal? What makes it a shady deal? Oando had acquired ConocoPhillips in 2011 for $1.5b which was even much bigger than ENI-Agip ($500m). Oando has been operating in the oil and gas sector for decades and the acquisition of assets of other companies are not new. SEPLAT recently acquired assets of ExxonMobil. A consortium of Nigerian companies also bought over the assets of Shell. Are those shady deals as well? |

He is an expert in smuggling of petroleum and other commodities to neighbouring countries especially Chad, Niger, Benin republic etc.....probably, he just got born again due to the Tribulation Tinubu subsidy is gone action and decided to give back to Nigeria as Dangote is doing beside, he's in his late sixties and getting older........Some might praise him anyway but he's still better than some people that takes from Nigeria and give it away to a foreign country.. Safyqueen: Is there anything wrong with you? Are you living in Nigeria?
Do you know that this man awards 15 trillion naira contract recently to the company where his son Seyi has interest? Do you know that Oando has forcefully acquired all the shares of AGIP oil 100% recently? Who owns Oando?
Do you know that AGIP is the one involved in exploration and exploitation of crude oil with NNPC right from when Nigeria started the oil business? So you are saying we should give him time to own Nigeria the way he owned Lagos?
Who told you subsidy is not sustainable. How much do we really need to sustain subsidies if there is probity. How many planes has Aso rock but Emilokan wants to acquire new one when the citizens cannot breathe. Do you know how much was used to renovate vice president 's house recently?
Dey there de misyarn. The breakfast in the cooking for this useless Emilokan government from the north vis-a-vis entire Nigeria will clear his doubt even before 2027. My friend, AGIP was not forcefully acquired by Oando. Stop using words that you do not understand. ENI (owners of AGIP) are a very big multinational, and nobody can force them to sell their assets if they do not want to selll. Oando acquired Uni-Petrol in 2001. Was it by force? No! Oando acquired AGIP downstream 2003. Was it by force? No! Oando acquired Conoco Philips in 2011. Was it by force? No! Oando acquired AGIP onshore assets in 2023. Was it by force? No. If you don't know, several multinational oil & gas companies (IOC) like Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Total, ENI, Addax etc. have all been divesting and leaving Nigeria due to several factors and Nigerian companies like Seplat, Aradel, Oando, etc. have been buying their assets. Seplat also bought the assets of Shell. Did they acquire that by force too? Tinubu govt is a failure and clueless, but do not link it to the Oando-AGIP transaction unnecessarily. Every govt has the responsibility to encourage local companies and to ensure that we develop local competence and capacity and to be able to do and achieve what the foreign companies do here in Nigeria. |

Mankind2024: You are highly misinformed. I regularly review my portfolio and divest from any company where the risks outweigh the benefits. By the way, when did you first acquire OANDO shares? I don't have time for petty issues. My money, my sweat, my labour, my investment - I manage my portfolio myself. I use this platform only to share my personal experiences. I never advised you to buy, sell, or hold. I express my observations, and you can't silence me. If things improve tomorrow, I can re-enter OANDO without owing you an apology. You are a million percent right! You can share personal experiences with no apologies to anyone. But it is unnecessary to say Oando or any other stocks is rising because it is being manipulated by some fictitious hands. The word' ''manipulate'' is something that is considered unethical and it is highly discouraged in the stocks markets globally. If a stocks is on a bullish run but not supported by fundamentals, you can say so. And speculation may be the reason. But using the word manipulation is frowned at. I first entered Oando around in 2010-12 but later sold to acquire other stocks and later re-entered when it came to down to N3-N5 in some years back after it had cleared all its court cases and issues with SEC and some major shareholders (before and after the 14 minority shareholders went to court again to seek for delisting)! |

Mankind2024: "A note to NSEMPA's long-term investors" The Customs Street Market Maker Conspiracy Against Dividend-Paying Stocks on NGX. Market makers are manipulating OANDO plc's share price, driving it up based on anticipated future revenue, untapped potential, and current momentum. while neglecting the trillion Naira humongous debts and liabilities of OANDO plc. This is precisely what they want - to create a false sense of value. Their strategy is to get you to buy when they're selling and sell cheap when they're buying. Consider Zenith Bank, which has outperformed in all aspects (Top and bottom lines) but is now experiencing massive dumping. This is likely to continue due to the 70% Forex gains and Rights Issue priced higher than the current market price. The same applies to other SWOOT banking stocks. Don't fall for the trap; investment is a marathon, and real wealth is built in a bear market. If market makers attempt to drive FUGAZ prices down to less than 10% of the three-month low recorded in May 2024. This should create an order block for long-term self-investors. The win is in the waiting. Red days are imminent, but don't run away - you can't trade or compete against market makers due to their deep pockets. Zenith Bank at N31 is imminent. The concept is to buy low from impatient investors and sell to greedy investors at substantial prices. This is the secret of institutional stock investors and market makers globally. The only winners are long-term investors. Some may argue that NGX is not the place for this, but I disagree. I still hold fundamentally sound stocks that have returned 700% ,600%, 400%, and 350% in my portfolio. This is the time to invest in fundamentally sound stocks. The OANDO wave will soon obey the law of gravity due to lack of fundamentals. Don't be greedy with the current momentum; it has happened before. In a few days, Customs Street market makers will subject OANDO to the gravitational law of attraction. OANDO enthusiasts, savor the uptrend while it continues. NB- I'm out of OANDO. You only realized the debts and liabilities of Oando and that they are manipulating the price after you exited? By the way, the new stocks that you have acquired with the proceeds (and others in your portfolio) are also being manipulated by the same people that you claim are manipulating Oando. |
