megawealth01: Who of the names you mentioned doesn't manipulate this market? If their shares are well established in the NGX, well circulated in the hands of investors, and maybe Otedola raises the price from e.g. N20 to N1000, all the investors would benefit. It happened in Geregu, FBN etc. Other investors are also selling/buying too so it is difficult to challenge the price moves. Chop I chop man no go vex now. The meaning of market is ''you chop I chop''. But who be Zichis to just appear only one month ago and take everybody for a ride just like that? Pikin wey never even get leg for NGX sef! |

yMcy56: Why did you keep repeating same thing or going in circles here? Where did I say ZICHIS has no blame or has done nothing wrong? What actually is your issues with ZICHIS?
If NGX had sit up and address the free float issues, ZICHIS wouldn't have flouted the rule in the first place. When listed, the 20% should have been enforced while NGX monitor for compliance.
What is NGX looking at that a stock did straight +10% for a month in the first place? Where's the penalty for the officer(s) that's supposed to oversee that ZICHIS complied?
NGX leaving the affair of a newly listed company totally in the hands of brokers is wrong..... What do you expect from a broker who is a trader, an investor with lots of customers that can generate revenue?
Abeg, I'm not replying on this issue again. Anything they wan do let them do it.....my own be say, there has been a lot of negligence of duty on the part of NGX, let her sit up. @Mummy wa, it is okay. NGX messed up.! But all the issuers coming to NGX, whether Otedola, Wale, 1st Alhaji, 2ndAlhaji, Zichis, NCR, MTN etc. must play by the rules. They owe us that as a minimum. . |

yMcy56: At least you can see what the insensitivity of NGX has caused.....reading different meanings to the suspension. It's generally affecting the market. When I said NGX has a blame here, some are arguing...... Hopefully, market will put this behind and move ahead in coming days You may have a good point, but still mixing up the issues. NGX has a blame, does not mean that Zichis has done nothing wrong or has no blame (as per the rules of NGX) and should not have been suspended or penalised. Truly, NGX has a blame. But Zichis too should be penalized. I would have preferred NGX fines the directors like N20billion, because I know some innocent investors may have been affected by the suspension. |

Valthegreat: I think you are comparing 🍏 with 🍊. Compare apple with apple so that we will have a justifiable outcome. NCR is an old stock that has circulated properly into different hands both whales and retail investors so controlling the price can only work if all holders are in agreement just like FTGINSURE currently. But in the case of ZICHIS only the directors have the shares because of the listing by introduction. Just ask yourself this question, could the price have jumped this high if they listed by public offer? Very impossible because different holders will be happy to sell at different prices e.g #2.05 for quick ejaculators like Loco (LOL!), #2.30 for JIJOISTs like Ginalex, #3 for BILLIONAIRE preservers (deceivers) like Agba or even at #20 for Aradite holders like YMCY. With the picture painted above you can see that there will be liquidity at every junction and as such price manipulation will be impossible. Kudos! It is just obvious for anyone that has reasonable experience in the NGX and how it works to see clearly. |

The NGX may not be perfect, but you and I are ones to lose if we don't discourage what happened. The NGX itself and other companies that did similar thing should also be called out |

yMcy56: Pluto, you don't have to keep replying, they won't agree with you no matter what.
The thing is that, ZICHIS didn't allow them chop with am, so they won't stop blaming them. Just see story changed once they're able to buy after suspension is lifted.
I wonder why no one is blaming NGX for dereliction/negligence of duty here... Why did it take NGX this long before they noticed the infractions? Even common investors were noticing this but regulators were blinded to it because their pockets are getting fat with 🤑 💰. I would say, NGX couldn't also partake in ZICHIS goodies, hence the need to look for an excuse to nail them......so they found one. Shikenah! Contradictions galore at the bolded. Instead of blaming the intruder/thief for trespassing, we are blaming the policeman for dozing off momentarily and later waking up to arrest the thief!. Interesting! In other words, everyone/anyone can go ahead to do wrong or steal and hope that he/she would not be caught. When he/she is caught, you say it is because he/she did not settle the policeman!. .........then we complain when the international community describes all Nigerians as thieves and corrupt! |

pluto09: I am not in support of what Zich did. What i am against is the double standards that some people are exhibiting. There have been some clear cases of manipulation before them which the same people supported just because they hold the stock. I tried to buy the stock the first 2 days after they were listed purely for speculation with no success so I don't have any single unit of Zich. Then you should appreciate what folks are saying here because you and I could fall prey to such schemes. There is no double standards here. Any stock can reach a height if there is enough liquidity in the market to support it. In Zichis case, there was no liquidity (retail investors did not have it) but their management and brokers/registrars decided to deal a few 100,00s per day to gain 10% and push the price up to 900%. If there was genuine liquidity, some investors would be selling or buying so the price may go up, down or stabilize on some days, but not straight 10% daily for a whole month! Even MTN, Dangote Cement, Airtel etc. did not achieve that. Everyone benefits when things are done right in the market. |

pluto09: Is there any rules that limit the percentage gains a company can attain in a month?? Did they force anyone to buy? If people see opportunity in the stock and they are ready to bid the price up by maximum allowed 10% daily why would I complain. I don't even get it why you seem to support what Zichis or their stockbroker/registrar did. If you are affected by the suspension, then I can understand how you feel. |

pluto09: Why the fixation on Zich? Is it because many here could not get it to buy on the floor. This is a company that is making profit and has a positive equity and yet many are quick to point an accusing finger. Check out other companies being promoted by this same set of people (company with no profit and negative equity for years) who are criticizing Zich and you begin to see a pattern of double standards. Why would someone justify the current price of ellah or NCR or FTNCOCOA or even tantalizer and be critical of Zich price? Zichis(newly listed with shares in very few hands) would ordinarily attract more scrutiny than other stocks that had been listed for years (and their shares fairly distributed amongst investors) . It is like a 60 year old billionaire and a 15 year old billionaire (with no history of family wealth) who is not yet even an adult in the game.....ordinarily, most of the attention, scrutiny, questioning, doubts etc. would be directed at the 15 year old. |

pluto09: What gave people the opportunity to manipulate the share price of NCR I don't have much info on NCR, but it had been listed for years, so maybe there was some privileged information or they had a MM that helped them jerked up the price. The dynamics are a bit different between a newly listed stock (concentrated in very few, limited hands) and the one that had been listed long ago and fairly distributed amongst investors |

deathwing: Why the rush on Japaul though? Just because someone said they can bring gold out of the ground doesn't mean it will be an extremely profitable venture. The company announced that their gold processing plant (machines) have arrived Nigeria, to be installed and start operations by May2026. This kind news would move the stock price anywhere in the world, not only NGX! If investors were to wait until they confirm the profitability of a business venture, there would not NGX or stocks markets anywhere. |

pluto09: I don't think listing by introduction is the problem. We have had many stocks in recent times moving in price with no justifiable fundamentals. NCR, MECURE, DEAP CAPITAL, FTN among others. What is needed is clear rules and strict enforcement. You don't get it? Listing by instroduction gives room for people to manipulate stocks trade volumes and prices, like we witnessed in Zichis. But it does not mean that every other company that listed by introduction did the same thing. No all companies are the same. The point is: block the loophole that is being abused (listing by introduction), and adopt the one that gives everybody a level playing ground with equal opportunity e.g. IPO or offer for sale. No matter the rules, listing by introduction may not be as transparent as IPO and offer for sale |

Stockpromoter: ⚠️ Quick Caution on Japaul Gold Japaul has had a short sharp rally. Now price is slowing while volume remains high — that’s often how distribution starts. Whales sell into strength while retail chases higher prices. If distribution completes, price could revisit ₦3.20–₦3.50 before the next real move. Be cautious: Don’t chase highs Watch volume on red days Trade with structure, not hype Learn to swim with the whales — not against them. Please we need some caution on insurance stocks too. The whales, the sharks, crocodiles, hippopotamus etc It will help some of us. |

thebargainhunte: The problem here is not the manipulation, the problem here is that most of our ogas them didn't see the stock to buy at a low price, hence the sporadic attack on the stock. I think what played out is the law of demand and supply, and the sector the stock is. What could be said of Mecure when it was listed? That is the manipulation in the case of Zichis. An IPO or Offer for sale would not allow them to move or manipulate the price and volume on a daily basis as we witnessed for Zichis. We are not saying every other stock that listed by introduction was manipulated. Dangote cement (I think ) listed by introduction and we did not experience this kind of a thing. The mechanism for listing by introduction allows the company to control the units and price of trade, which can easily lead to manipulation. |
