Recession will happen but not in sight in the next 4 years if this government continues in the direction of reform they are currently on. that 4 years even depends on how far we are in our diversification drives n resetting of the economy through reforms. If we able to decouple fully from oil then no shaking till we outgrow those gains n new ways are required.
How can this govt's reforms stop a global recession?.
Let's stop hyping the so called ''reforms'' because nothing special or fundamental is happening.
What are you exporting now that can make you decouple fully from crude oil in the next 5 years?
True diversification and economic reset is not based on political gimmicks and propaganda?

And what is the chance of that happening based on current reality even when trump that wants cheaper oil couldn't devalued it.

Trump will soon leave office is also a good outlook for oil.
No one is sure, that is why she said she's always monitoring OPEC news and developments about oil price, quota, geoplotics etc.
Imagine what could happen if:
a. Iran succumbs to US pressure, threats, then all sanctions are lifted and Iran begins to pump a lot of oil into the world market.
b. there is war and Iran is attacked with the leader killed etc.

I believed you are still living in the past, what is the percentage of oil to non oil export currently sir.

Well, if you are pessimistic due to your past experiences you can just exit rather than giving yourself unnecessary headache.

Your sanity is more important than the money.
Her concerns about crude price is still very valid.
If for instance, crude price tumbles to like $40 for a prolonged period, we are in trouble. Govt forex earnings would crash and they would devalue the naira to get more naira revenue from exports., plus the effect on other sectors that are linked to the global economy, including banks and oil companies.
Crude export is still the dominant component of our export revenues.
I stand to be corrected though.

I hardly see anyone here advise being cautious about the market. Almost everyone is just bull here.

Everyone is just saying, so so stocks are undervalued. When asi had done almost 4x in 3 years.
But the ASI is not always the best way to judge individual stocks because it is easily influenced by some few huge cap stocks e.g DangCem, Seplat, Nestle etc.
Take Access Bank for instance. It is selling at N26+ (like Wema) while its peers are selling close to N50 and above; That should tell us if it is able to resolve its acquisitions, restructuring, NPL, forbearance etc. and pay dividend, it would sell well above that price.
Under normal circumstance, Wema and Access should not be at the same price.

Caution is the first law in every investment; it goes without saying!

I would say this political connection did virtually nothing for nearly 4 years.
You cannot really say that for sure. It might have helped in a way that we may not know, even if not so huge.

You seems to be the only voice of reason here.

Everyone think the market would keep going forever.

We'll, recession would definitely come. And asi might drop 20-30%.

It may not be this year but it is on the horizon definitely.

Last recession was 2020 tho
Na wa ooooo at the bolded grin grin grin

People are buying into whales excitement.
From next week, the excitement in Japaul will relaxed and we move to our daddy's new support zone.
It takes Whales a period of 14 days to complete distribution to support cycle.

The excitement game is over today(Friday)
You never know what others may know about a stock, hence you cannot say.
The grandstanding is unnecessary.
Time will decide everything

Japaul will likely experience another rally in Apr/May, close to the commencement of gold processing operations.

But my concern now is Access Bank; it may spring a positive surprise between now and April when they release Q1 2026 results. It is too undervalued to be ignored. Similar to when GT and Zenith were selling below N20 just a few years ago.

Fortunately, Ellah is not like the banks who are strictly regulated by CBN, so they may still find a way to pay dividend some day once they satisfy SEC requirements.

ositadima1:
Does negative equity stop a company from paying dividends?

Also, Ellah does not have negative equity, please go through the unaudited financial statements again. What they have is negative retained earnings, which is a component of equity, but overall shareholders’ equity is still positive.

They do have interest-bearing debt of ₦372.3 million, which is relatively small compared to their total assets.
Earlier post modified. Will verify your assertions

Lol please where is the revenue coming from or what's the retained earnings abi my eyes don dirty again? Maybe they want to borrow money to pay dividend sha. Chuka is doing well with Wale's playbook. 15 years down the line investors still dey argue with confusion with Wale's forward looking statements. Now Chuka don learn grin grin grin

The over 22,000 hectares in Ellah’s possession, is it all just bush? Even if they cultivated cassava on only half of it, they should be able to pay a dividend. Or do you think the land is lying completely fallow? What do you think they’ve been doing with the huge expenses they’ve recorded, are they just partying with the money?

So if you can’t account for any of that, what makes you think you have the insight to question the source of the dividends?
I think he was referring to possible negative equity/retained earnings position of the company which makes it almost impossible to pay dividend

Women Jubilate With Married Woman After DNA Test Proved All Four Children Her Husband Claimed Were Not His Are Indeed His.

Watch the video below:

https://www.rep9ja.com/viral/woman-jubilate-after-dna-test/
The woman's reaction and jubilation is BAD!
Indirectly, it shows to some extent, that she was not really100% sure of herself, and the result is ''news'' to her!
What she could have done is to break down in tears and weep heavily in the presence of everybody, for the husband's unwarranted suspicion of unfaithfulness. This is what would have melted peoples hearts, including the husband, as true proof that she is truly innocent and faithful to the husband. Everybody would feel sorry for her and give her sympathy support.
But for her to be jubilating with other women, it feels somehow to me..

It might surprise you that I have a secret admiration for Chuka Mordi and Ellah despite my bearish view on the stock. It's not personal; the company is not yet ready for prime time.

And because of that, they're making suboptimal decisions: ARPN is a lot to swallow. The offer was too big and too rich. And now they're being rushed to pay a dividend, when they should be investing in growth?

They should calm down and prepare for the marathon. Presco was not built in a day.
I think they have to pay some dividend (no matter how little) to redeem their imagine and reignite investor confidence in the company/stock. Otherwise, the stock price would crash to N1 and the directors that bought those shares would feel it more.

An investment in UNITY BANK at #3+ is worth it in my own opinion...

My aim is to be among it top 10 shareholders structure because of dividends...

Thanks to God PROVIDUS is in the picture. That PROVIDUS eh. Check them out and see that they could help UNITY enter the big league
The problem is how to get it at N3+ (or even at N5) because of the tendency to hoard in the midst of the rush to buy

But if we had a confidence scale, 0 being most fearful, 100 being most confident, someone like Agba is would be on 3 while I'd be on like 97.

I sort of feel that 3 is too generous.
Agba is a miser....''alahun''. . grin grin
But he is a good man...just look for a very nice figure 8 as part of your proposal to buy any stocks....you will see Agba supporting you with confidence and high spirit.

Even at this preliminary stage, Providus is already the 9th biggest bank.
Imagine when they become fully operational and inherit Unity bank branches in the north!

Stock you were pleading desperately for at 4.7 crashed to 3.3, yet you didn't buy??

It's easier if people stick to their lane sha.

Japaul is in the kitty already, but I don't mind offloading it to invest in Providus-Unity shares
