That's the only entity I want to be heavily loaded in as long as the banking sector is concerned. UNITY BANK will end up being the bank I have the highest volume of shares What if they do a public offer? Would your broker still execute the mandate? |

My prayer is that they do the traditional public offer I had the same concern about possible listing by introduction but hardly has any bank done so since the 2004 banking and capital market reforms. Let's wait and see what happens |

My entry price was very low. I have also benefitted from the share redistribution bonus. Did they actually take up everything? I don't think so. The qualifying date was just Feb13, the same day the notice came out so every shareholder on that date qualifies. |

Las las they will buy out the minority shareholders. If dem give you N100 make you no collect. Dem go carry you go court You are poking virtually every stocks. What did you say or do when Wale was paying N2-N3 dividend annually around 2006-2011? It may still happen again. By the way, I will be very okay if I collect N100 per share to exit Oando, if sanctioned by the Court. |

aumeehn: Please how can i start Buying Shares? I want to Start Long Term investment in Nigerian Stocks Please just a walkthrough on where and how to buy will suffice Thanks You have to start developing interests in news about various sectors in the economy, the companies, their financial statements, events, projects, developments etc. if you want to be buying stocks. 1. To be able to buy/sell stocks, you need to open an account with a licensed stockbroker i.e. companies that are licensed to buy/sell stocks on behalf of investors (see approved list .... https://ngxgroup.com/exchange/trade/becoming-an-investor/find-a-broker/) The stockbroker would request for some data e.g. ID, BVN, NIN etc. and open a stock trading account for you (domiciled with the broker) and a CSCS account with a CHN (domiciled at NGX/SEC). You may contact/visit some stockbrokers to check their services, office locations, means of trading e.g. online platform or manual documents etc., fees etc 2. You can start buying shares through either: a. Primary Market e.g. via public offer, private placement (new issuance of shares to the public).; this happens once in a while. There are no fees to pay when you buy via primary market b. Secondary Market e.g. via NGX which we discuss on this forum; takes place every working day. You will pay fees when you buy/sell via the secondary market 3. For a public offer, you will see the company adverts and application forms in newspapers, online media, banks, insurance companies etc. If interested in that company/stock, you can fill the form, pay via cash/cheque/transfer to your stockbroker or receiving bank, insurance company etc. It is advisable you keep duplicates and collect receipt as evidence, if possible 4. To buy via secondary market, you need to monitor and identify the stocks listed on NGX (like we discuss here daily) then deposit money into the broker's bank account and send them your purchase instruction (form) with evidence of payment. Some stockbrokers have online platforms for this process. Keep evidence for your records, if possible. 5. Records of your transactions (cash deposits, purchases, sales etc.) will appear in your stock trading account with the broker. But your CSCS account will show only the units of stocks that you have in your portfolio (with NGX/SEC) at a point in time. After you buy or sell a stock through your broker, ensure you request for your trading account and check with the CSCS account(takes 2-3 days), until you master the process. 6. Always confirm the brokers fees for purchases and sales of stocks (each broker's fees may differ slightly) Wish you good luck and remember to look for me for some royalty when you make your billions. |

Stockpromoter: I understand your hesitation about insurance stocks. Historically, they have underperformed and traded at very low prices for years. But the current situation is fundamentally different. This recapitalization exercise is not business as usual — it is a structural reset of the entire insurance industry. Here’s why I strongly believe that any insurer that successfully meets recapitalization will not trade below ₦10 within the next 6 to 12 months: Stronger Balance Sheets Companies that meet recapitalization will emerge with significantly stronger capital bases. A stronger balance sheet increases underwriting capacity, boosts investor confidence, and improves valuation multiples. Reduced Number of Players Not every insurance company will survive this phase. We are likely to see mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations. Fewer players mean stronger market share concentration and improved profitability for those that remain. Repricing of the Entire Sector Insurance stocks have been undervalued for years. Once recapitalization is completed, the market will begin to price them based on new capital strength and growth prospects — not on their old weak structures. Institutional and Smart Money Entry Institutional investors prefer financially strong companies. After recapitalization, qualifying insurers will meet investment thresholds that many funds require. Increased institutional participation will naturally push prices higher. Liquidity Cycle in the Market The Nigerian market is gradually shifting attention to sectors that have lagged. Insurance is one of the last undervalued sectors. When full momentum enters, price adjustments can be very aggressive. Psychological Price Reset Historically, companies that successfully recapitalize rarely continue trading at penny levels. Market perception changes. A company with solid capital cannot logically remain priced like a distressed entity. I am not saying prices will move overnight. But in a 6–12 month window after meeting recapitalization requirements, it will be difficult for fundamentally strengthened insurers to remain below ₦10. This is not speculation — it is a structural valuation shift driven by capital strength, reduced supply of weak players, improved confidence, and sector rotation. Sometimes the biggest returns come when sentiment is still doubtful. Just something to think about. Wow! It is well. Money and the problem it has created for mankind! |

SpaceX: Grammy just honored him week ago, go and read about his history you will see the greatness Fela was a radical and the bad governance and govts in Nigeria which he fought against made him a timeless hero. But musically, Grammy award is not evidence or stamp of greatness! There are many great musicians that never won Grammy. The award given to him is due to Nigerians linking him to the current ''Afrobeats'' sound, which is actually false. There is no link between what Fela played as Afrobeat and the current Afrobeats genre, both of which actually originated from Ghana's highlife, hiplife and Azonto sounds. The names sound similar, but there is no actual connection or link between the two. The fallacy of ''repeated lies becoming the truth''! |

iskalamong: Historically, pre-election years are not the best equity years in Nigeria. Many times, in H2, liquidity may dry up and sellers may dominate activities.
It is important to note that the dynamics are different now. Local players now dominate the bourse and positionings are mainly long (buy).
In addition, the maximum equity allocation for pension funds have been raised and market corrections may provide accumulation opportunities for large pension funds.
The two factors above should minimise the level of the selloff.
My opionion.

Elusive001: Cabinet okays new land registration process in West Bank; critics decry ‘massive land grab’
The cabinet authorizes the opening of a land registration process in the West Bank for the first time since 1967, which ministers who initiated the step say will enable the registration of broad swaths of land to the state.
The terms of the cabinet resolution, initiated by the defense, finance, and justice ministers, authorize the Land Registration Authority in the Justice Ministry to carry out the land registration process, and it now will receive the necessary funding and manpower for this work.
The ownership of some two-thirds of West Bank land has never been formally registered, including in Area C, which constitutes some 60% of the entire territory. Israel has full military and civilian control in Area C, which is where the new land registration process will take effect.
The registration process will allow the registration of land with the Land Registration Authority if it is not currently registered as privately owned.
An official from the Peace Now organization says that although in theory there could be a fair land registration process for all parties in the West Bank, it would be very hard under current conditions for Palestinians to prove and assert ownership claims. This, he says, will likely lead to the declaration of hundreds of thousands of dunams of land in the territory as state land, meaning it will be available to Israel for the development of settlements, infrastructure, and transportation.
While state land is supposed to be managed for the benefit of all civilians, Israel makes it available almost exclusively for settlers.
“The government has approved a massive land grab in the West Bank on the way to de facto annexation, in complete contradiction to the will of the people and the Israeli interest,” Peace Now says in response to the decision.
Addressing US President Donald Trump, he says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “annexing [the West Bank] right under your nose.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and Justice Minister Yariv Levin laud the decision, saying it will create legal certainty in the territory and protect the national interest.
“The resolution constitutes a real revolution in Judea and Samaria,” says Levin, using the Biblical term for the West Bank.
“The Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. The Israeli government is committed to deepening its hold on all parts [of the land], and this decision is an expression of that commitment.”
https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/cabinet-okays-new-land-registration-process-in-west-bank-critics-decry-massive-land-grab/ Judea and Samaria belonged to Israel, from time of King David, Solomon etc. Calling the place the term ''West Bank'' does not change anything. |
