@chiketeeHey, Bia, Wo, Look here bros, Shittu go and read my earlier post or that of Kilode and you will leave the Almajiris alone for starters. Your problem is not fundamentally the Almajiris or homeless. It is the Scholars who distort your message, the ones who brain wash the Almajiris during prayers (or after in any order), the ones who generalise personal hurts, the Politician who has something against you but takes it out on your kinsmen living up north or the innocent, the ones who make sweeping statements to the press and sell sensational headlines, the one who read a certain portion of the quaran to the innoncent, brainwash and arm thm with some cash and some swords, etc. I can go on but I dey for work now but please leave those Almajiris first and face the real culprits. Let's deal with the root then we can sort out the feeble and visible branches later o.k. |
mike oscar posted about the same time as I did. I'm just glad that some of my observations are not mine alone.Felt exactly the same too when I read your piece. |
Quran Burning Day Attack Preparations have started.Unfortunately that might happen because of the same reasons already wisely delt with by my Muslim friend Javalove. Illiteracy, lack of education/exposure, misre-presentation of faith , manipulation/brain-wash, Bigotry, intolerance, cultural biases, stereotypes , etc. I am a Christian and a Pastor BTGOG and I have read my Bible a bit to know there's no where in the Book we are admonished to Burn Quaran or any book at that matter or retaliate against Islamic fundamentalism, or try to stalemate a religion. Christianity is not a religion it's a practical way of life that should preach to others even more than our verbal effort. That Clergy in Florida threatening to Burn the Quaran is completely out of line as far as Christianity is concerned. He is either seeking press recognition or something is wrong with him upstairs. I cannot defend islam judging from the History/anticedents of that faith it is only obvious why people associate Islam with violence (I leave that for another day) but Christianity has moved from the law of an eye for an eye over 2000 years ago so what's the dude trying to proof. We are a peaceful people and we know that God fights for his people. 2,605 people died at the WTC excluding 87 passengers and crew on American Flight 11 and 60 passengers and crew from United Flight 175 in addition to the 10 hijackers. The Pentagon had 125 deaths, American Flight 77 had 59 passengers and crew and five terrorists were involved and you think we care about these figures more than God. I live in Houston, Tx. and this morning I was driving to work and listening to my usual Yolanda Adams radio programme and when She Rhetorically asked the question if the pastor was right in wanting to burn the Quaran, almost all those who called in spoke strongly against the guy's decision and they said upfront that they where Christians and even backed their statements up with sound Biblical doctrines. It's not Biblically correct and it is not in our life-stlyle to be VIOLENT. Islam may have subtly or or boldly encouraged Fundamentalist Muslims to burn the Bible, Burn flags, pronounce death sentences over anybody who speak against Prophet Mohammed (May his soul rest in Peace) or Islam or any of the other ordinances but Christianity says otherwise. Jesus says "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself." (Luke 10:27). Now, that's the whole Christian doctrine right there in one line! So what does the Bible say to all those boiling over Islam and 911? let me give you a few scriptures (NIV translations): 1. Leviticus 19:18 -"'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD". 2. Romans 12:19- "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord". 3. Proverbs 20:22- "Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you". 4. Romans 12:17 "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody". 5. Hebrews 10:30 "For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." @Javalove, please tell your Imams/Alfa's and brothers up North to speak strongly and openly against violence and encourage love amongs circular neighbours irrspective of your faith and you will see what peace we will experience in Nigeria and especially the North. In Western Nigeria where you come from, you can have a muslim elder brother and a fire-brand Christian Sibling from the same Parents and nothing happens (you don't even get to know until it's prayer time), In yoruba land, there alot of Christian- Muslim marriages. I have a few Muslim friends with a Christian sibling, parent or spouse and they are some of the most loving people I have known. One of my best friends here in the state is a Muslim married to a lady who has become a very strong Bible preacher, He follows her to preaching engagements sometimes and even help to prepare the Children for Church. His wife loves him to pieces (like we say in naija, lol) Former Gov. of Lagos state Bola Ahmed Tinubu married a Christian Woman they still live happily as I speak and He is still a husband of one wife. BRF current Gov. of Lagos state is married to a PASSSIONATE christian woman, He drives them to Church on sunday and goes to play his football (I hear He is a MANU fan ) Husband f one wife too. I can go on and on, Bottomline, Our folks up North need to learn really from the West or else we go send them go Taliban enclave for Afghanistan, Iran or, Somalia sef Haba! ![]() Shalom Alaikum! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
14days is too short for registration of voters. Many will be unable to register@Toba I agree. It's a recipe for stuffing ballot boxes as usual. May God help us. |

This makes some interesting read, credit to Patrick Naagbanton@Rhea, Many thanks for posting Mr Naagbanton's write-up. Let me confess that this is the first time on any Naira Land Forum that I will read a marathon article to the end and pausing to understand how the author effectively strung the pieces together. I lived in P.H. for many years and still return there from time to time when I am in Nigeria for verious reasons including vested interests and a Prime property by God's grace but I never understood the breakdown of how these various group operated until your article. One thing I will never forget though was how my wife and I stopped driving to town, victoria at night to buy Chicken suya and even threatened not to visiting our friends in in town because of the harrassment we got one night from some fierce looking gang who swooped in on the suya man and took everything including what we paid for and calmly drove away. Good piece , I am saving the information and watching developments. I hope Odili is still hiding in Abuja and should spend the rest of his life there because I don't see how He can still walk the streets of P.H. freely (unless I'm wrong). Last year on my way to Houston from Lagos, I flew in the same BA business class as Odili's assistant-in-crime, Hon. Abiye Sekibo who was obviously in a disguised out-fit of t-shirt and jacket as opposed to his trade-mark expensive Alabo and hat . I didn't realise he was there until about two hours to landing in George bush. I kept my eyes on him hoping I will approach him for a converstion when we touch down. I did get the chance later after we passed immigration. I introduced myself and asked him if He now resides in Houston. He took the bait but later said it was his family that he was just visiting. Later at th customs I went to declare my usual crayfish, eguzi etc and there He was declaring gold and cash money of over twenty thousand dollars and getting grilled by a loud-mouth latino officer. They finished with me and He was still there answering questions about his diplomatic passport and the gold he said was for his wife. my point is that they are looking for where to hid and enjoy their loot ![]() |
omg!!! This is going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong thread and may end-up being locked-up after my fellow Nigerians have aggravated and abused each other to the fourth generation all in the name of tribal war etc. ![]() Let's watch and see ![]() |
He said in pidgin English: “I am Pere Fiofori, the person wey the Commissioner of Police declare wanted for killing Soboma George. Yes, na me gangan kill am. I shoot am with the gun he give us. He said we should kill Ebebi, former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa, but we refuse since the thing fall outside amnesty period.Which Nigerdelta man says in the colloquial /pidgin "Na me GANGAN ", never heard a Nigerdelta man use those colloquiality/words in P.H., Bayelsa or Delta state. Mind you, I went to school, lived and worked in P.H. for over 12 yrs, travelled around those states during my work assignment and preaching engagements and gangan is hadly in any pidgin sound there so this reporter may have flavored somethings in the report a lil' bit ![]() |
u r worsening your "case" ![]() |
I don't get why Chelsea gets the weakest teams in the English Premier League in their group.Oh! Mummy-Gee, you are too much . You obviously couldn't have made 12,326 posts without this one, ![]() ![]() Don't worry we'll tell EPL FA to look into your understanding of the league ![]() |
chelsea 7-Stoke 0. It's called De-ja-vuuuuuuuuuu . |
na wa oh, common demonstration na im dem go sew aso ebi? They are asking for money yet they have plenty to waste. If they ask really in need of money, why would they waste so much money sewing uniforms forFriends, I don't see any problem with them having uniforms at all. Remember, this is not a knee-jerk action of some unorganised people. This is a segment of the Nigerian labour union(take a look at the emblems on their caps and chest, looks like Labor logocommon industrial action. ). Now to label their action as a "COMMON DEMOSTRATION" or "COMMON INDUSTRIAL ACTION" is a grouse under-estimation of the potency of industrial actions in whatever form. I figure if you've been involved in industrial actions at any levels(either at work or at college) under a legally registered union you probably have seen the immediate or long term effects on the economy and how quickly goverment call for a resolution either by yeilding or meeting the union half way or at worst the case is settled or lingers in an arbitration court. All this while, people still suffer and the economy starts steeping. Another arguement will be that a uniform will help to identify the individuals so that the intent is not hy-jacked by hoodlums and their likes. The shirts may not have cost them so much in relation to the long term benefits of what they are agitating for. Also remember that it is wise to Risk sowing your only corn seed and cultivating(watering, weeding, sunlight, protecting it) untill you get a harvest of corn. Most definitely you will get several seeds back. Good measure, pressed down and shaken together, ![]() Now, weather this current action by PHCN will achieve all of these is left to be seen but Industrial actions by unionised parastals or companies are generally very effective sometimes they win and sometimes they lose to fight again (ask ASUU) but whichever way, the sector and most other sector of the economy still suffers if the action has longevity. Just my thoughts. |
PHCNNice but Another interpretation could be PHCN P- Please H- Help C- Cover N- Nigeria in darkness ![]() |
hahhahahaha y couldn't the guy just say 'pay us our money' LMAO 'monetization'? ahahahahahah!I see your point though, but I guess the message is coded especially when the details of the monetised elements of their renumeration is known to both parties and all those who have been following the issue in Nigeria (no excuses for poorly communicated message). On the other hand, placards or aluta banners are meant to carry short one liners , with strongly worded messages, so the guy try jare just ask GEJ to pay their arrears make them return to work (I hope to to continue to giving Nigerians qtr current, or sell transformers to rich individuals, )But on a serious note, GEJ should step in now and rectify this Power Issue. It's a promise He must keep to salvage some integrity for himself and His administration. |
Only Okrika and Ikwerre people have right to comment on this issue. . . . not a fan of Patience, but she is well within her right to speak up on this issue.Tamuno eh! Ibime for public forum too, you say make we no talk. O.k. the next time your folks post a topic there should be warning or a proprietary clause at the at the end of the post or at least give us opportunity to buy franchise or apply for "line-sense" to put mouth for the matter ![]() |
Power drunk woman, she is taking undue advantage to insult an elected governor , I want to believe all that is said about this woman life style is true,O.K. I don't support People being rude to others (and all that gangsta microphone snatching) but the last time I checked nobody had elected Rotimi Amaechi into office as governor. Yup! |
I sent him on an errandOh, now i see why. please don't ground him for too long, we're missing him and Ezeuche too ![]() |
@Ileke-idi Yeah, that's the guy. He's been MIA for a while ![]() |
Here go the Pro-Gay people again calling people who hate this abomination as closet gays. Can't you people realize that some people follow the word of God over that liberal notion of sexual liberation. How come in all of my short Nairaland membership this is the first time I'm agreeing with you Ezeuche when you are not busy fiercly painting biafra all over the place and dumping Naija . You are very correct about the post above and it beats me that people here try to be politically correct . You are either with God or you are against Him. I call it what He calls it ABOMINATION. Period. BTW where is that your brother who lives in China(forgot His NL ID), He's not been here on NL for a long while especially when the Biafra Campaign is on, lol |
Guys this is indeed very sad and stories like these ones are what made me resolved that as soon as my expat status ends I will be on the first plane home. As the world continues to grapple with the effect of the economic doldrums, we should expect more xenophobic attacks from citizens of several countries.@Omoabike, Incidentally, I saw the story on CNN here in Houston and It was quite a sad moment for me and my wife. This silly Mexican lady was stage-managed to tell the whole world that She crossed into the U.S. to have a baby and that she will do it again if she got pregnant. I live and work here legally but I cannot gloat over any laws against latinos because I know Nigerians and other Africans will be affected most. For the latinos they can die trying to scale those perimeter fences but we have to fly across the atlantic and have a baby that will be later denied citizenship is something un-thinkable. Haba! So far it's the republicans(as usual) that are peddling the news that aLQEADA have a plan to flood the U.S. have babies and take them out of the U.S. for training till they are 20 then send them back to cause mayhem. While I cannot argue if there is a remote possibility all I can say is that if there's any amendment resulting from this news especially with the way CNN has been embelishing the story then most non-immigrant Africans/Nigerians living here without papers will struggle to explain to their kids why they are born here and yet cannot claim citizenship. |
@The Amaka & Chongaiman, I can't agree any less with you both. Back in the days I wondered what we had to gain but remember, we were trying to assert ourselves as the giant of Africa (I don't know if we eventually achieved that though) and we had money to spend. The exchange rate for dollar/pound to Naira was ridiculously in our favor. I won't say we did not think about the gold and diamonds etc in South Africa but I mean, we prolly thought o.k. we will have some stability in SA and then we can move in our resources and also engage in a strong mutual/bilateral relationship devoid of any arm twisting. Unfortunately our politicians have messed up our name , our integrity and our collective soverignty now we get all those stereotypes and the sort of articles posted here. South Africa now have a strong and thriving Telecom industry in Nigeria. The last time I was in Naija I saw smartly dressed SA air hostesses and pilots and a huge Nigerian crowd waiting to board SA Airlines. I'm even sad that that Camerounian girl, nayah or what has something to say also that's how far down we have fallen, lol, but make no mistakes Nigeria is on the brink of a turn around and by God's grace and prayers and a change of our mentality we will survive this turbulent times. Troubles don't last always so this season too shall pass. My children will definitely not return to a Nigeria that everybody hates including her own citizens. |
Some folks are overly paranoid . . . what the heck has the movie to do with this? ROFLMAO!!Just in case you didn't see the movie in question, I did. In the movie the Gang leader is named Obasanjo, we are clearly potrayed as drug dealers gangsters, love-peddlers, Pimps, cannibals etc, Back to the subject on hand, the bouncer or door Keeper allegedly told the Nigerian Doctor that NIGERIANS ARE NOT WELCOMED IN THERE BECAUSE THEY DO DRUGS. If you can relate to both incidents and several others including the murder of innocent Nigerians in South Africa and several other humiliations we have suffered in SA you will realise that to say folks are overly paraniod is to state that you are not following the trend of things in SA as it relates to Nigeria. To take you back to the Appartheid regime when I was in Primary and High school we were taught that South Africa was the centre piece of Nigeria's foreign policy. We trained south Africans in Nigerian Universities, paid scholarships for them in the U.K. cUBA and the U.S. as well supported the struggle through several campaigns and protest to the U.N. and international communities. We even spent a lot of our money to support the ANC to ensure the struggle wasn't starved of Money. I don't have personal interests in South Africa but I have friends there. Truth be told, to lump all Nigerians in one suitcase and brand us is the silliest thing our brethren down south of the continent have concieved. |
Great Job blues. What a way to start the season. 6-0 is some spanking and some statement too . |
Miss Ghana is really gorgeous Miss Nigeria is common not ugly but common, [b]actually I'm not better so it's kind of hard to judge lol@Nayah, I can help you really, since you're not "better" and not "common" you are Plenticious if that's you in your profile pix ![]() |
Guys, guys (and gurls too), please take it easy. My grandma use to say when you want an arm of bush meat you start negotiating for a full kill (some saying in my language I can't properly articulate in English). Remember Samson knows the NFF by now and who knows what He might have been offered initially. Let's wait and see how He nogotiates himself into this before we start casting rocks at him. Yes N15m per month sounds like a lottery win but I think that too can be negociated abi. [s]E be like say the guy no wan price himself cheap[/s] |
It's not over until the fat woman sings in court ![]() |
) Husband f one wife too. I can go on and on,
