The hack seems to be part of a bigger breach affecting several Vevo YouTube channels, including those belonging to Drake, Taylor Swift, Adele Chris Brown, Shakira, and Maroon 5.

A hacker using the online moniker of Kuroi’SH claimed responsibility for the breach in a series of tweets, revealing that he also hacked rapper Post Malone, and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki.
Kuroi’SH also tweeted that he would hack NASA, Jake Paul and Logan Paul “if we didn’t hit 40,000 followers this day”.

Remember back in 2017 when Jumia was giving or rather selling the renown Samsung Galaxy s8 for Ksh.5($0.05)? Well, they are back again with the Oppo F5 that would typically cost you around Ksh.50,000($500) claiming you can own it at the cheapest price ever.

The deal here is that you visit Jumia’s website and search for the product among thousands and thousands of other products in order to claim the prize in case you find it first.

I can’t tell for sure if this is a scam or not but from Jumia’s past deals of such kind, Kenyans on twitter seem to be smelling something fishy going on here because those people who win themselves these prizes seem to be coming from ‘ghost accounts’.

Microsoft Africa responded by promising to provide a computer to the teacher and access to free professional development resources.

A 2015 study into the implementation of ICT learning in Ghanaian secondary schools found disparities in technology use among urban and rural school students.

The report, published in the journal Procedia – Social and Behavioral Sciences, found there was a “digital divide” in Ghana and called for government and school administrators to provide better technology resources for students.

On 6 February 2018, it emerged that OLX, an African e-commerce platform, has shut down all its offices in Africa except the one in South Africa. The company, which is owned by Multinational media group and investor Naspers, has thus shut down operations in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya, according to a report by Nigerian Communications Week.

OLX is a global classifieds platform, which has a physical presence in nearly 40 countries.

According to a report by Innovation Village, the staff working within the offices were informed about the closure on 6 February 2018 and are expected to fully move out by the end of March 2018. OLX will reportedly still be present in these countries but will be run remotely, the Nigerian and Kenyan websites of OLX are still up and running.

Samsung set the bar for flagship smartphones early in 2017 with its stunning Galaxy S8 and there’s no doubt the South Korean tech powerhouse is looking to do the same in 2018.

The company announced the Galaxy S8 in March, which caught some off-guard as it traditionally reveals its new phones at the Mobile World Congress tech conference in February.

A Nairobi-based logistics company has won Sh2.6 million ($25,000) in a tech start-up competition hosted in the capital city by American news site TechCrunch and social networking giant Facebook.

Lori Systems, which provides a payments and tracking platform for companies, was crowned winner out of a group of 15 companies that participated in Startu-p Battlefield Africa.

Lori Systems also won a trip to participate in Disrupt San Francisco 2018, a TechCrunch event in which start-ups from across the globe will exhibit their products and go up against their peers in the search for potential investors.

Other companies that received accolades at the event included SynCommerce, a Ghanaian firm that was deemed the best in the gaming and entertainment category of the competition.

SynCommerce allows companies to list and manage their products simultaneously across different e-commerce platforms such as eBay and Etsy.

Another Ghanaian firm, AgroCenta, was the winner in the social good category.

The company provides a service to small scale farmers that allows them better access of markets by cutting out middlemen.

Over 1,000 companies had initially applied to participate in the Battlefield Africa. However, they were culled over the last few months to the final 15.

The Start-up Battlefield Africa was the first event of its kind on the continent.

However, TechCrunch has been running similar events across the world since 2007 during which companies have managed to raise up to Sh722.8 billion ($7 billion) in funding.

Start-up Battlefield Africa was part of a week of events in Nairobi by Facebook. The company also hosted a three-day training course for women developers from across the continent and an event for women in technology.

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled its latest device in the Kenyan market, The Galaxy Note 8, targeting customers who need to get work done on-the-go.

The Seoul-based firm yesterday launched the device in Nairobi pushing its enhanced style pen usage and work capabilities, its dual lens camera, and innovative entertainment as the selling points to high-end consumers.

The device will retail at Sh104,999.

It will be available in various Samsung outlets, Safaricom shops, Fonexpress, Naivacom, Tuscom shops and authorised dealers countrywide in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Maple Gold and Deepsea Blue colours. Samsung Electronics East Africa head of mobile division Bob Asiyo said during the launch the phone is suitable for both personal and professional users.

“Diverse and demanding tasks are being done on smartphones, with the ability to effectively multitask on a single device becoming an essential requirement. The Galaxy Note 8 offers this convenience,” said Mr Asiyo.

While it’s usual to expect a successor to a phone to come in with massive improvements in terms of hardware specs and features, you might be disappointed with what Infinix Note 4 brings to the table when compared to the Note 3. Of course, there are a few tweaks here and there, but honestly, they might not be worth the upgrade.
The best question here would be amongst infinix note 4 vs tecno camon cx I think

For starters, the new Infinix Note 4 has a much better design that features a stunning metallic-like body with a removable plastic back, but the Note 3 doesn’t disappoint on this front either. The latter also comes with a beautiful design featuring an all-metal unibody with a non-removable back panel, however, the Note 4 feels more premium than its predecessor.

SEO has changed dramatically over the years. Back in the “good old days” we could stuff a page full of keywords, buy a bunch of links and BOOM! we’re at the top of page 1 in Google. Fortunately, search engines have gotten a lot smarter, the algorithms are more complex, and it’s not so easy for spammy sites to rank. Search results are more relevant to the user, and if you are doing your SEO right, you will get a more qualified audience clicking through to your website.

How do you know if you’re doing your SEO right? There are hundreds of factors that are used to rank websites and there are continual updates to the algorithms. We’re going to hit 5 big search ranking factors and show you what you should and shouldn’t be doing with each.

1. KEYWORDS

The importance of keywords and how we use them has changed a lot over time. It used to be you would research your keywords, plug those words into certain key places in your website copy and tags, and then you rank. It’s not so cut and dry anymore.

Yes, you want to do keyword research. It is still important to know how your audience searches. (See #2 for a good discussion on your audience.) You absolutely want to use the words your audience uses. However, don’t just plop those words into your copy & think you’re done. A good rule of thumb:

“What’s good for the user is good for the search engines.”

Only use keywords where they make sense. Think about keywords as phrases rather than individual words. Internet users are moving more and more toward natural speech searches. For example, instead of searching for “pediatrician” today’s user may very well search, “where is the closest pediatrician specializing in Celiac?” Search engines are working toward understanding user intent and returning detailed results. Using longer keyword phrases (known as “long-tail keywords”) with clear intent will help your website rank higher in the search results.

2. PERSONAS

You are not trying to reach the entire world. Even huge websites, like Amazon, have specific buyer personas they are targeting. If you don’t have your buyer personas defined, 2015 is the time to do so!

What is a persona? A persona is a fictionalized member of your ideal target audience. When defining your personas you need to consider not just their demographics, but also their buying process, their research habits and most importantly, their pain points. What problem(s) are they trying to solve? What solutions are you offering that meet those needs?

Clearly define your personas and base your keywords & content around the language they use and the pain points they are trying to solve. Until you have personas distinctly defined, your SEO will be somewhat like throwing darts at a dartboard in a dark room. Maybe you’ll hit something, but more than likely you won’t.

3. LINKS

Links coming into your website (inbound links) are good. Purchasing inbound links as part of your SEO strategy is one of those things that used to work, but now is a terrible idea. Google knows if links are purchased and they will penalize you for them.

DON’T BUY LINKS! EVER!

Link building is good, but it needs to happen organically. You need to earn links by publishing unique, quality content that your persona wants to share. (Jump to #5 if you’re confused about content.)

4. MOBILE

Think mobile first. Mobile use of the web has been on the rise for several years now and it’s only going to continue its ascent. Google knows how your website looks and functions on mobile. If Google thinks the mobile experience isn’t a good user experience, you will be ranked lower. The mobile factor in the ranking algorithms will only grow in importance over the next several years.

The preference is that your website is responsive. That means your website “responds” to the device and creates a good experience whether the user is on their laptop, iPad or phone. Responsiveness creates a good user experience as well as a higher ranking in the search engine results.

5. CONTENT

You’ve probably heard, “Content is King.” It’s still true. Search Engine Optimization is all about the content right now. If you publish high-quality, useful, and unique content geared toward your personas’ pain points on a regular basis, you can pretty much ignore all the other SEO advice. Great content drives traffic and rankings: auality blog articles, relevant social posts, well-written website copy. Great content will bring traffic. You have to continually publish high-quality, useful, unique content to continue to maintain rankings in the search engines. Yes, it’s a lot of work, but the return is amazing.

REMEMBER,

“What’s good for the user is good for the search engines.”

THE LONG AWAITED iPhone X is official, with the firm unveiling the 10th-anniversary device at its much-hyped Apple Event on Tuesday.

The iPhone X (pronounced iPhone 10) is the company’s first smartphone to feature a full-screen display, as it sets its sights on the likes of the Galaxy Note 8. There’s also an all-new ‘Super Retina’ resolution, a reinforced glass design and support for wireless charging, with the iPhone X arriving with support for the Qi charging standard.



The handset’s so-called ‘Super Retina’ OLED display measures in at 5.8 and features a 2436×1125 resolution, making it the highest resolution iPhone to date. It also features Apple’s True Tone display tech and, much like the new Apple TV, supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision content.
