PhonesFacebook Can Now Replace Your Weather App by Mikeshiangala(op): 5:34am On Feb 09, 2017
Facebook is rolling out a useful new feature that puts a full weather forecast inside its mobile app and desktop site.
The feature is accessible from News Feed or the mobile app’s “More” menu — the section that links you to areas like Friends, Events, Groups, Pages and other key Facebook features like On This Day or Saved items. Within the Weather section, you can view a full forecast for your week ahead, powered by data from Weather.com.

Facebook confirmed that the new feature, an updated version of its earlier “weather greetings,” has launched to around 95 percent of its global population as of this week.

This is not the first time Facebook has toyed with introducing weather information into its service. The company years ago added forecasts to events and public places, and more recently was spotted testing weather updates in its News Feed in the U.K.
PhonesPasswords For Social Media Accounts Could Be Required For Some To Enter The U.S by Mikeshiangala(op): 5:18am On Feb 09, 2017
A password may soon be required to enter the country — the applicant’s Facebook password, that is. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly suggested the measure to the House Homeland Security Committee today during talks around Trump’s embattled executive order on immigration.

“We want to get on their social media, with passwords: What do you do, what do you say? If they don’t want to cooperate then you don’t come in,” he told the committee, NBC News reported .
This was specifically in reference to the seven Muslim-majority countries — Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, and Libya — immigrants and refugees from which the EO attempts to prevent from entering the US. He added that this was not an official policy decision, but to suggest it on the record like this indicates a certain level of confidence in the possibility.
PhonesGoogle Is Planning To Remove Millions Of Apps From The Play Store by Mikeshiangala(op): 5:13am On Feb 09, 2017
With notices being sent out to app developers around the globe, it looks like Google is about to cull a whole heap of apps that don’t meet the terms of its User Data Policy .
In particular, the message has been sent to developers whose apps request “sensitive permissions (e.g. camera, microphone, account, contacts, or phone)” but don’t have a valid privacy policy. The notice asks that a link to such a policy be provided in the Store Listing page as well as in the app itself, or alternatively, that the app-maker remove these sensitive permissions from the app altogether.
Developers have been given until March 15 to comply with this request, at which point Google will either limit visibility of offending apps, or remove them altogether. Presumably, this would mean a mammoth mop-up of millions of dead apps – many of which haven’t seen any sign of development in years – that will hopefully lead to a cleaner and less-cluttered marketplace, maybe even rivalling the tidiness of Apple’s App Store.
Making it easier to sear

PhonesAre We Ready For An 8GB Of RAM In A Phone? by Mikeshiangala(op): 10:07pm On Feb 08, 2017
OnePlus devices have always boasted flagship-level specs at midrange prices. With last year’s devices, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3t, however, the upstart smartphone firm has opted to go above and beyond, releasing devices that actually exceed the power and specs of the industry’s best devices at significantly lesser prices.

Rumors about the OnePlus 4/OnePlus 5 are quite scarce, but what has been leaked about the device have so far been very encouraging. Currently, speculations are high that the upcoming flagship killer would be equipped with a new ceramic frame, and a massive 4000 mAh battery with upgraded Dash Charge capability, according to an Alphr report.

Apart from this, a new set of rumors have emerged stating that the device would be equipped with a massive 8GB of RAM, an even more formidable 128GB of ROM, a new camera system, and last but not least, a significantly better display.

PhonesAndroid Rumble;huawei Honor 6X Vs Oneplus 3t by Mikeshiangala(op): 11:40pm On Feb 07, 2017
The Honor 6X and OnePlus 3T do have a few things in common.
The displays are the same 5.5-inches in size, and the physical size is almost identical with the Honor 6X weighing in only 2 grams heavier.

The displays use different technology but the same FHD resolution. They both use a different processor and GPU, and they both pack a 64GB memory option with expansion available only with the Honor 6X via a microSD card.
The primary camera areas are very different – the Honor 6X uses a 12MP and a 2MP sensor while the OnePlus 3T uses a single 16MP sensor.
