https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/f2.jpg Infinix has become a household smartphone brand in Kenya, Ghana & Nigeria among other many African countries. Known for its exclusive sales on platforms like Konga and Jumia, the devices have become a favorite of many. Infinix has created an online platform that helps you verify if your Infinix smartphone or battery is genuine. The platform allows you to input the IMEI and VC number of your Infinix smartphone phone. (You can get your device IMEI on your purchase box or dial *#06#. For the VC number, you have to check on the battery or phone itself. It is usually below the battery compartment.) Once you input the two and submit, Infinix will let you know if the device is genuine or not. You can also do the same for your battery (The battery verification works with only the IMEI and not the VC number). more details on the: Infinix Imei verification tool. |

https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/images-86.jpeg Rather than a total or global outage, the Facebook issue appears to be specific to certain features. Users report that specific posts or photos don’t show, but that the page might load, leading to international frustration. Issues are being reported across the world, according to the tracking website Down Detector. Users in Europe, the US, Africa, South America and Japan were particularly affected, with thousands of users across the globe running into problems. More on Facebook downtime. |

https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-Fold-980x588.jpg Samsung has reportedly identified at least one of the Galaxy Fold’s flaws and are now deciding on a new launch date. That’s the word out of Korea, where Samsung’s mobile boss, DJ Koh, suggested that they identified a “defect” that was allowing substances to enter the Fold and cause damage to its display. Koh shared the news with the Korea Herald, saying that they will “reach a conclusion in a couple of days” over a new launch date. To back up for a second, remember that we got to this point because a handful of Galaxy Fold review units ran into issues that forced Samsung to pause the phone’s launch. A couple of issues were self-inflicted, at least one was a failed device, and another couple were because substances found their way through the phone’s hinge, which caused damage to the foldable display from the inside. https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/galaxy-view-2-stand-render-720x720.jpg What is the Galaxy View 2? The renders show a 2-in-1 style tablet with a Galaxy Fold-style curved hinge along the top edge, connecting the screen to a full-size kickstand. When folded down, the stand does not lay flat agains the back of the screen, and instead still angles the device for typing, scribbling with a stylus, or watching videos. The kickstand is shown with a big hole in the middle, and without the weird built-in handle on the original Galaxy View. The hole could double as a handle, and will also help reduce the overall weight. Details on the specification are slim, with speculation the screen will measure 17.5-inches, down from the 18.4-inch screen on the original. A set of benchmark results linked to the Galaxy View 2 suggested the device will have an Exynos 7885 processor — found inside the Galaxy A8 Plus smartphone, and equivalent to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series chip — and 3GB of RAM. Benchmark results are easily faked, so this may not be accurate. Source Smatt Geeks Media. |
https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Galaxy-Fold-980x588.jpg On its official website, Samsung has included the prices for the Galaxy S10E, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10 Plus in its screen replacement breakdown. Users will have to fork over $199 to get a broken display of their Galaxy S10E repaired, $249 for the standard Galaxy S10, and $269 for the Galaxy S10 Plus. These prices aren’t surprising considering that they do sport the company’s new Infinity-O Display. The Galaxy S10. and Galaxy S10 Plus. both sport an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader too, which presumably adds to the cost of the repairs. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S10e. doesn’t have curved displays like on its larger siblings and, just to be clear, an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, it has a flat screen and a fingerprint reader under the power button on the side. This likely explains its lower $199 screen replacement cost. The back panels are, fortunately, $99 to replace across the board, which is the same cost since the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 models. Read on Samsung's Galaxy Fold. |
https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/images-34.jpeg To add to it’s camera centric smartphone line, Infinix will be releasing their latest midrange S4 to the public with a tear drop notch design which is much better than Apple’s notch if you asked me. The Infinix S4 is believed to be shipping with an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 CPU with a a similar glossy finish common to budget smartphones nowadays that try to imitate a glass build. The specs have been bumped up a bit from the predecessor Infinix S3X thus comes with 6.2 inch display,4GB/6GB RAM, 64 GB ROM and Triple 16MP + 13MP + 5MP rear camera and a 20MP front camera. https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/FB_IMG_1554114087617.jpg It seems like Tecno is working on a 4 sided fold-able device known as the Boom X but we don’t have much information on this device just yet. 2019 is the year companies are unleashing their best technology innovations when it comes to foldable displays being led by companies like Samsung, Huawei, Apple, and Motorolla. Whether this is the future for the smartphone, we’ll let time be the judge as we wait upon the Tecno Boom X. According to a post that appeared on Facebook, the Boom x is believed to be coming in a fold of 4, 5000mAh battery capacity, 42MP Rear camera, 24MP front-facing camera, 6GB of RAM and 126GB of ROM……..i also don’t know why it’s 126GB and not 128GB as we are used to. https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/img_2604.jpg I decided to download the app on my phone to see what it was all about. The app is quite smooth and the sign-up process is quite simple. You have to give the app access to the number of steps you take per day in the “Health” section of your phone, as well as allowing it to track your location at all times. Being quite mindful of what I allow to track me, this was the thing I was least happy with. I guess the tracking makes sense, since that is what they need to assess how many Sweatcoins I am earning… and I guess that is partly how Sweatcoin makes money (by selling data). Although the official purpose of the app is to make people more fit, I assume the data is more valuable for the company behind. As soon as you have signed up, it starts counting your steps and you start earning Sweatcoin. more onSweatcoin App. |
https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/lg-g7-review-5-header.jpg The most immediate effect of this invitation to mark to our calendars is that it signals there’ll be no Huawei flagship phone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Given the relative dearth of leaks regarding any new Huawei phones, that might have been taken for a given, but now we know for sure that there’s still another month before the reveal of the P30. Then again, with all the high specs and performance of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, the company can feel comfortable, even after MWC is concluded, that it has one of the leading smartphones on the market already. more on Huawei P30. |

https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Meizu-1.jpg The future of smartphones, if you believe a company like Meizu, is a future filled with phones without holes. No USB ports. No headphone jacks. No speaker grills. No SIM card slots. The future will be unibody construction without the need for plugs. Are you ready for it? This week, they unveiled the Meizu Zero, a ceramic phone without holes or ports. It runs a Snapdragon 845 and has 18W fast wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, a 6″ AMOLED display, fingerprint reader, and virtual side buttons that hopefully don’t take after HTC’s U12+ buttons. But the big thing here is the lack of any port or hole. Wait, so how are they doing things like charge, connect, listen, transfer, and control with the Zero? The phone wirelessly charges when battery is low, transfers files over wireless USB 3.0, features an eSIM for connectivity, plays sounds through its display, hopes you have wireless headphones, and gives you volume controls through touch points on the side of the phone. Oh, and it’s fingerprint reader is an in-display reader. Now, I don’t know if anyone else has been smoking what Meizu has been smoking, but a future without holes just isn’t something the industry is ready for. Wireless charging, which would be required, still isn’t as fast or stable as wired charging at this stage, though Meizu claims their tech is super fast and reduces heat. Headphone jacks could possibly go and have from numerous phones, but killing the USB-C port means we really have no options for headphones other than to go fully wireless. Dongle life would be over. No speaker grills? We could probably live with that, assuming the tech in-screen speaker tech used by Meizu in a new phone is any good. eSIM technology is great, but carriers in the US hate it so far. OK, now that I type all of that out, it sounds like a challenge that could be fun to take on. Could you use a phone for an extended period of time that had no ports or holes? I kind of want to try it. Their solutions are real solutions, not just made up concepts. This could be a possibility. What do you think? ![]() originally appeared onSmatt Geeks Media. |

https://smattgeeksmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/android-one.jpg The Infinix NOTE 5 will also be part of Google’s Android One project, which is pretty exciting. Well, Android One was originally designed for first-time smartphone users in emerging markets and Infinix NOTE 5 being part of it only means the device brings with it a guarantee that it’s a solid and stable version of Android that’s not loaded with other apps, services or bloatware. Android One, which is described as the ‘purest form of Android’’ comes without any of the stuff that most smartphone manufacturers like to bundle in – no skins, no duplicate apps and those annoying additional services. We have seen Android One on the recently launched Nokia devices: Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1 (2018). The Xiaomi Mi A1, HTC U11 Life are also part of Android One. Other rumored features include a 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while the Note 5 Pro would pack 64GB and a massive 5000mAh Non-removable battery. more details on: Infinix Note 5/Infinix Note 5 Pro. |
