AcuraZDX: Na 33k is trending because NYSC corps members are complaining after receiving a whopping ₦33k allawee for September, instead of the approved ₦77k from the Federal Government.
In June NLC & FG agreed on minimum wage of ₦70,000. On 29th July, Pres. Tinubu signed it into law.
Last week, FG announced it had been implemented and corps members will get ₦77k henceforth, with top up arrears balance for July and August.

simonlee: So, considering the rate at which the price of foodstuffs keep increasing by the day, I decided to buy enough rice to last a while. I went to a local market here in Southern Kaduna (where I work) to get my rice. These local markets are open only once a week, with traders and buyers from far and wide coming to make the most of it. I was able to get local, clean rice at the rate of N1,500 per mudu (our unit of measurement here ). I bought 15 mudus, that's N22,500 and got 1 extra mudu free after scoping the mama to the best of my ability. I think it was a good purchase considering how our brothers in the south are lamenting the cost of food over there. What's the situation in your area? Please can I send you money so that you buy and waybill for me? I reside in Gauraka Kaduna road before Zuma rock. |

Travel › Re: Don't Come To The UK If You Are Guilty Of These 10 Things by mikkyword(m): 11:57am On Jul 31, 2023 |
Then I am good to go. i love that care giver thing. who can connect me.? uche87: Life in the United Kingdom is far different from what most Nigerian men are used to in their home countries. The points here might appear so simple but they count in the preparedness of a man in bracing up for the challenging task ahead. They constitute the essential ingredients that put the final touches to the taste of a good soup. Come with me and let's dive into these points: (1) No creditworthiness: If you are not creditworthy, you might struggle in the UK, because the credit score is taken seriously here. You will struggle to secure loans and mortgages. Even offline, your friends and colleagues might be hesitant to assist you financially during difficult times.
(2) Cheating: In Nigeria, cheating married men are like celebrities, especially when they have financial muscle. Even when their wives know, they endure the problem. In the UK, cheating on your wife might render you homeless and even pave a visa route for her and the children through your downfall. If you are a serial cheat, it might be better for you to remain in Nigeria where you are a king without a crown.
(3) Pride: Some Nigerians are excessively proud. They never do household chores and they brag about it. It is too expensive to secure domestic workers here and the terms of engagement are too strict. You might have to keep your hands dirty at home to keep your marriage going. Some jobs also come with insults and talking instructions from underage or far younger colleagues. If you can't handle it, you might be forced to sleep rough and go hungry due to being broke.
(4) Obsession with white-collar jobs: In the UK, it is easier for you to easily get blue-collar jobs and make good money from there as an immigrant pending when you are fully integrated into the system. You might be forced to come down from your high horse to work in factories, restaurants, warehouses, care homes, and hospitals; playing menial roles. If all you know is wearing suits and ties in cozy office environments and signing documents, the UK might not be for you.
(5) Laziness: Making money in the UK is quite tough. If the money sent to Nigeria could talk, some people will not touch it. The majority of immigrants do transitional jobs of an average of 12hrs per day and 6 days a week to make ends meet. The cost of living is too high at this point. A lazy man who is used to enjoying free cash from petty crimes in Nigeria will certainly not fit in here.
(6) Can't manage loneliness: This affects single people more. Over here, people would only check up on you if they need you. Everything is highly transactional! This gets to everyone at some point. You have to manage it well before you get in bed with the nearest 'mad' person.
(7) Tolerance/Endurance: Immigrants who work in health and social care must possess this attribute. The money might be good but there is a reason why the labour turnover in this sector is very high and visa sponsorships are given for people to remain there. This is because of the unconventional nature of the jobs. If you can't tolerate or endure the smoke, you might end up begging the Tinubu victims in Nigeria for money right from the UK.
( Hate cooking: If you don't have cooking skills in the UK, you will suffer oh! You will end up eating foreign foods that you might find tasteless. You will spend a lot on patronizing Nigerian food vendors who sometimes cook burnt offerings for the gods. You will eat junk food till you become pregnant without a forthcoming baby after 9 months.
(9) Lacking good communication skills: Being able to communicate in good and simple English is very essential in the UK. It is very imperative when attending a job interview. It is the easiest way to sell yourself even when the certificate might be lacking. It shows your level of intelligence and how adaptable you can be. If you are poor in this area, your progress might be hampered in the UK.
(10) Cold: If you are the type that screams 'weather for two' anytime rain falls in Nigeria, the UK might not be for you. If you can become sexually restless under a weather condition of 25 degrees Celsius in Nigeria, imagine what you would do when it falls to 0 in the UK. And this isn't a place to be randy. It is very expensive and dangerous to do so. Read the stories of the former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy or Adam Johnson and learn.
Feel free to debate the few points I have made so that we can all learn.

Career › Re: A Teaching Job In Benin Or A Microfinance Bank Job In Lagos? by mikkyword(m): 4:55pm On Feb 22, 2023 |
ewa20buredi100: I have a neighbour who resides in Benin city, works as a Physics teacher in a private school and earns 60k as salary, plus extra 55k as a private lesson tutor.
She was recently given a job offer, after applying, in one Microfinance bank in Trade fair, Lagos state. The Microfinance bank has its headquarter in Europe. The pay is 76k for the first 6 months. After which there will be an upward review to 96k.
Problem is she doesn't know which one to choose, as she is tired of teaching and life in Benin. And wants to experience Lagos life.
I wanted to tell her of the life, stress and traffic in Lagos. But had to withdraw, because I haven't been in Lagos for years now. So chances are that i may tell her what is not true.
And secondly, she has no accommodation in Lagos, but wants to go stay with a friend.
I do not know what to tell her.
Your suggestion highly needed.
Thank you. you better remiain in Benin with your N115,000 than going to lagos to earn what is not up to your present pay. Babe! that lagos life you crave for go tire you if you dare embrace that offer. Remain for Benin enjoy your life o. |
Politics › Re: Yakubu Dogara Blast Tinubu Says Emilokan Is Heresy by mikkyword(m): 4:45pm On Feb 22, 2023 |
ochejoseph: The former speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara has described TInubu's "Emilokan" as heresy. In a series of tweets released by on his official Twitter handle he wrote:
"As we go to the polls remember that we can not put a set of people, half addicted to rage and the other half addicted to delirium, into leadership and still hope that we can rise above the contradictions which define their very nature; for they will only reproduce themselves.
Note also that Democracy anywhere does not give permission to its citizens to be their worst selves. A people who knowingly suborn the gormless into leadership positions have wittingly or unwittingly resolved never to rise. Come on Nigeria, we are better than this!
Doing things for others and demanding that they pay you back amounts to doing the right things for the wrong reasons- the very definition of heresy. Is it said that, "the most truly generous persons are those who give silently without hope of praise or reward." #emilokanisheresy
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has previously asked Christians in Nigeria not to waste their votes by voting for the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election.
Source. https://twitter.com/YakubDogara/status/1628368749353902080?t=DNgLqFzFJO9MRIpkpNooMw&s=19[/quote]Heresy indeed. |

Charly500: Goodevening to my NPOWER People,
Please my younger brother who is still waiting for deployment under the Batch C Stream 2, called me this evening to inform me that a lady from NPOWER called him to ask him where he would like to be deployed to, and also asked him if he is still interested in the program. Since it was via phone call he responded by telling her he will get back to her, because he knew about Batch C Stream 1 procedures.
Am wondering after all the stress in registration and luck of being selected why on earth she will feel such a person wont be interested.
To be honest, their staff at Npower are not to be trusted either, something fishy is going on, because Batch C Stream 1 never witnessed such during the duration of their program.
Has anyone had this experience please share? thanks Which state? Your brother should respond positive by telling her where he want to be posted to. Down here in Niger state we were called to the local government Secretariat via text messages and we were asked were we want to be posted to. Besides every state have the right to do it which ever way they deem fit to them. Ciao. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Bankers Warehouse Injustice To It's Staff by mikkyword(op): 11:20pm On Oct 29, 2022 |
A job is suppose to give you a better life or at least improve your standard of living, not to turn you into a serial debtor.
BANKERS WAREHOUSE as a financial institution does not see the welfare of it's Staff as priority. It has been hell here in Lagos, I believe it to be same respectively in Abuja and Kano. Workers salary that is suppose to be paid at the end of the month is not paid but rather extended to the first week and even second week of the next month. Instead of full payment to be made since it is already late, but no, part payment is what the staff get. The consequences of this is that the Staff keep borrowing money for survival. Almost all the processors are in one form of debt or the other.
This is very bad coming from a company that is into CASH PROCESSING and CASH IN TRANSIT Business. ...Further ills mated on the staff are: 1. Workers are debited every month for pension still the amount debited is not credited to their pension account. This has been lingering for years now. 2. Leave allowance for two years not paid. 3. Backlogs of unpaid overtimes sin 2021. 4. The working condition not conducive. 5. No Bonus of any sort, even at festive period.
Their Salary is just 75k, 54k and 44k no increment for years. You can spend like 5 to 6 years without pay rise. CBN should rise to the aid of bankers warehouse staff. CBN please check it out.
