That’s a very bad thing to do. I’m glad you have accepted your mistake. Some people get to prepare for 2-3 months and still don’t get up to 300. Study harder if you are still interested in PhD or look for schools which require low GRE score for Msc in your field. electromagnito: Bad day for me... i did my GRE with just 5days training ended up with 283 lol overconfidence finally kill me.... seems i might not get the phd i was promise |

I doubt this though. I had 3.77/5.0. Wes evaluated it to be 3.30/4.0. brashear: You have to write GRE bro, English proficiency test can still be waived depending on the school you are applying to.
Please do WES evaluation if you can afford the money, it usually results in a higher gp than in house schools evaluation. Your 3.21 gpa should be around 3.0 - 3.1 by WES evaluation. Also, find schools that accept WES.
Goodluck |

Congratulations ma. Did you later try or are you still going to try the domestic help thing? tmd: Profile
CGPA 3.47/4 GRE 322 TOEFL 97 Emory University MPH Global Health- Infectious disease concentration Not fully funded but got $20000 Rollins pathway scholarship Deficit on I20 is $44000 after scholarship has been deducted No Document asked Status: Visa approved
Interview was not like a standard F1 visa interview though
VO: Pass me your passports Me: I obliged plus our I20 VO: Why Emory University Me: Firstly it is one of the few Universities that offer Global Health in US as a department on it's own and not as a certificate/side option and they also have my concentration which is Infectious disease. Also, its location in Atlanta which is known to be the world public health capital is a major factor because it would expose me in practical terms as a result of the presence of major public health organisations there like the headquarters of CDC, The Carter centre, American cancer society etc.......I stopped talking at this point because I felt I had said enough and didnt want to bore her eventhough I still had other points and she didnt cut me off. I remembered ranking, which was one of my main reasons afterwards but didnt bother again.Thankfully, it didnt work against me. She just kept nodding and this is the only student related question I was asked VO: How many children do you have Me: 3 VO: and where are the other 2(I went with my first son only) Me: They are at home. They are not eligible for Visa. I gave birth to them in US VO: when is their DOB and how old are they Me: -/-/2015 & -/-/2016...... 4yrs and 2+ VO: Did you declare your intent at the POE when you went to deliver Me: Yes VO: How much was your delivery fee Me: $11838 for the first and $11959 for the second. I have my receipts here if you want to check but she declined Typed for like forever, then she approved us.
I had to give back to this community hence the reason for this transcript, if not, theres really nothing much for F1 visa aspirants to see. I learnt alot here and i am grateful to everyone here. Thank you to all the gurus holding this house up, you guys are the real VIPs and ofcourse I return all the Glory to God. |

Congratulations... Mayorsmart005: Visa Interview @Abuja Embassy today, May 21.
My appointment was for 7:30am and I got there few minutes before this time. First was the warm welcome received from the "staple-your-documents guys" who almost did not allow the cab I boarded to park before opening the car door. "Bros, there's a special order of arrangement required for your documents, else they will send you back" others too were saying different things...I just said OK while I walked away. On getting in, I was amazed at the number of people already there...Pastors with collars, Revd Fathers in their robes, VIO in uniform, grandpas and grandmas, people wearing all manners of job ID cards. I joined the queue, had some documents checked, proceeded for biometrics and all the other kind of checks. All these took time, but was very orderly.
Finally, we got in and joined the interview queue. While waiting, I was watching what was going on in windows 6, 7, 8 and 9 where interviews were conducted. While the VOs in the other windows took their time to hear what people had to say, before either granting or denying them, the lady in window 6 hardly spent 2minutes before issuing blue paper to people...she was just dishing it out in less than 2 minutes. I prayed not to be interviewed by her. As usual, in less than two minutes, she handed the woman in my front a blue paper and called for the next which happened to be me (perhaps, I prayed amiss). In my mind, I just said, "Holy Spirit, take control".
Me: Good morning ma
VO: Good morning (while she stretched her hand for my passport and I-20). She stared at my I-20 for about 5 seconds
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: I'm going for my Doctorate degree in Chemistry at Florida International University.
VO: How did you know about the school?
Me: I made a search online about my research interest and the research of Dr. X of Florida International University appealed to me the most...(I still had more to say but she interrupted with the next question)
VO: Where did you have your previous degrees?
Me: University of Ilorin.
VO: So what will this degree do for you?
Me: Currently, I am a Lecturer in XYZ University and bagging this....(again, she interrupted with the next question)
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yeah, with a kid.
VO: Will your wife be joining you?
Me: She currently works here, so for now, I'll be going alone.
VO: Typed for a while and said "I have approved your visa."
Me: Thank you (with an American smile)
She then handed me the small congratulatory white paper and the one for the pick up locations. It's true you hardly hear the other things said after approval...I just knew she mentioned something like I-20. Others? I no hear am o.
Appreciation. I might not have personally interacted with everyone on this platform but I have either directly or indirectly benefitted from the materials and information you shared here. They have really been of help. I am sincerely grateful and just want to use this opportunity to say a big "Thank You".
To God alone be all the glory! |

It won’t affect you. Nothing will happen. When filling the waec result portion on Wes, it will ask if result is coming in another name. You can indicate the old first name there. Oyinkansola22: Hello house. Please am new here and I need your help. Am about to start my evaluation with Wes and I just realized that the last letter of my first name on my waec certificate is different from the last letter of my first name on my undergraduate certificate but the one on my undergraduate certificate is the name am using now. Please I would like to know if it would not affect my evaluation process. It's just the last letter of my first name that is different H and T. But since am evaluating my undergraduate transcript does it matter. Please I need help. Thank you |

I would work on getting a tuition waiver of some sort... Thanks LagosismyHome: Depends on what your long term plans are , the recruitment prospect, if you plan to come back to nigeria and most importantly if you have relevant work experience
I personally wont choose that degree except i plan to come back to Nigeria or have very strong work experience and would certainly not pay some of these tution. But AGAIN THAT ME NOT YOU |
