I will keep scouting for scholarships
fairheart:
As you already know, I'll personally advice you to remove Columbia University from the list. I'll advice you stick with Baltimore or opt for Salisbury. That you were refused twice says nothing about your school, but maybe because of the tuition. You can still get your visa on Baltimore I-20. But it would have been more favorable if you get a scholarship of at least small amount, or a GA before you reapply. Why not pick other schools that are more affordable and try secure scholarship? I know it's not easy, but you could still look for other schools and apply, and yes, for fall 2019.

I made a mistake
Time2win:
Use the school you were awarded a GA.

I applied for GA at Salisbury though, I wasn’t awarded

It is for Negotiation and Conflict resolution in Columbia and Baltimore but Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution in Salisbury.

Baltimore and Salisbury is affordable.
LagosismyHome:
What course is this for .......... Also which one can you pay easily as well

Good afternoon everyone,
I am going for Fall 2019, I want to process my I-20 and I need a good advise on which school is best to choose.

I have been admitted to these schools with no GA,
Columbia University ($68k tuition)
University of Baltimore ($42k tuition), and
Salisbury University ($30k tuition).
However I was denied in January using University of Baltimore.

Cc @LagosismyHome, @Bracelum, @GboyegaD, @fairheart, and every guru here.

WES accepts both WAEC and NECO
Sarcasticmofo:
I think it's only WAEC, at least for WES... But I'm pretty sure there would be one Evaluation agency out there that accepts NECO.. check naces.org

I made my sevis fee payment through walspring without any hassle and it reflected in less than 24 hours. For those who needs help with sevis fee payment, contact Walspring. You won’t regret it.

Thank you, I will do just that.
GboyegaD:
If it is highly ranked in your field, then you are good to go. Just be able to convince the VO why you chose the school and program alongside how it aligns with your long term goals.

Before listing all the schools you applied to, make sure the university you applied for the MBA programs offers the engineering program as well. If they don’t offer the engineering program, don’t mention the school.
MasterforceII:
Okay. Will do that. Thank you.

Good day everyone,
Does anyone know about SALISBURY UNIVERSITY, Maryland? Is it a red flag university?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Milkshakes01(f): 10:18pm On Apr 03, 2019
You’re right... I understand your point
LagosismyHome:
For me that they were rejected in the first place shows its not automatic for top schools

Schools actually do, I’ve heard of Harvard and Columbia calling the embassy after the denial of visa
fairheart:
Ah! You certainly wouldn't go further because you do not have experiential fact! You're the first person to tell me school call embassy to issue student visa to bschools student. And I have been laughing! Thanks anyway! grin

I don’t think I can send the complete work, the application specifically said 5-10 pages for the writing sample and my project is about 170 pages.

Moreover the intending chapter is self-explanatory.

Timottee:
That will work. If the chapter is self-explanatory as a stand-alone, that will be fine. If it's not, you can send the complete work and let the recipient peruse through it.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Milkshakes01(f): 8:20pm On Mar 18, 2019
Thanks, I want to use a chapter from my final year project.
Timottee:
Typically, when they request for a writing sample, it usually refers to a published paper (i.e. published in an academic journal), unpublished paper/manuscript (e.g. your thesis or final year undergraduate project), published book chapter or report. A writing sample related to your intended masters programme is preferable, but if you have one in a different field/area, you can also send it as it is better than having none. Kindly, note that most programmes usually do not count essays as academic writing samples.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Milkshakes01(f): 5:54pm On Mar 18, 2019
During a graduate application process, if a sample of written work is requested for (just for them to have a glimpse of my writing ability). Must the sample be about a topic relating to your intended masters program or can someone just write about any topic?

Please it is really urgent I need an answer. Thank you.

I believe the best you can do is to apply to another school because this particular school won’t offer you an admission except you provide evidence that you have taken this prerequisite courses. I want to believe this courses are not courses you can take here in Nigeria without being enrolled in a university. Just search for another school which has your program and can offer you an admission with the courses you’ve already taken during your undergraduate study.
Awo95:
PLEASE HELP!!!! . I applied to UTHSCSA and I got a mail saying I’m conditionally eligible for the program I applied pending the completion of come listed prerequisites which according to them , they do not offer those courses. Please what should I do in this case ? This couses are lab courses. I don’t know what to do . And UTHSCSA said they can’t grant me an I-20 to come and do the couses prior to the beginning of classes . Somebody help!

Good afternoon everyone, I would love to know if Graduate Assistantship or Teaching Assistantship are available for all forms of graduate programs or just STEM courses?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by Milkshakes01(f): 3:28pm On Feb 21, 2019
Well, I believe it depends on the occupation, A real estate agent get lump sum of money in their account, A lucrative business person get lump sum of money weekly, the occupation you tell the VO doesn’t have to be that of a salary earner. There are occupation that you can say you sister does. In 3 months, you can build up 15m in your Acc without any issues
Happiness67:
Bro, 43k no be small something..But everything is possible by God's Grace. The VO's are looking for consistent flow of income into the account. Many questions like how much is the salary that enters into the account of your sister or family member monthly? Is it much? And also know that you have like 5 months towards fall 19 interview, how much can enter within that 5 months? The word is consistency here,A sudden flow or rush of income into the account might be a cause of concern to the V.O.Just try to consider these things and make the best choice of account.
Thanks

Wow, thanks for the insight.
domex007:
dont even go there, they will discourage you.
I went there after my second visa denial and the woman used me as example to other students. walspring can relate grin grin.

In education USA at the embassy they say you cant study in the US if you are using GCE result,
you cant study in the US if you have been denied US visa before
you cant study in the US if you have been out of school for more than 6 months or there about
you cant study in the US if you dont have a direct sponsor
and of course you cant study in the US if you are using OLUWOLE BANK STATEMENT grin grin

EducationUSA said i was not qualified to study in the US but to God be all the glory i am in the US now with a GCE Result, 3 Previous Visa denials, been out of school for more than 3 years and my uncle that we dont bear same last name is my sponsor.. (i wish i had their number i would have called them to tell them to stop discouraging Nigerian students)

you can go to them for extra knowledge but DONT LET WHAT THEY SAY DISCOURAGE YOU,. GOOD LUCK

I strongly believe you would obtain first hand information on VISA processes from EducationUSA since it operates under the auspices of the US Embassy.

"EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 400 international student advising centers in more than 170 countries. EducationUSA is officially a branch in the Office of Global Educational Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs." Wikipedia
