No. I have a full Uk license.

Ogbaba123:
Great, do you hold an international license? I believe there’s some discount that comes with having the box tho.

Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Mimzyy(f): 7:02pm On Apr 11, 2022
Not all plans on admiral include the black box. I’m with admiral and I don’t use the box.

Ogbaba123:
A 2.0 petrol is a “large” engine in UK.
Target cars with 1-1.4
Check admiral insurance, although you’ll be given a plug-in box to put in your car that tracks your driving styles

Have you checked the popular renting websites like zoopla, etc?

You can also contact the agents directly. There’s several of them at the town centre (Dartford). Here’s one.

Na wah o. Different styles of scam. We learn everyday.

LagosismyHome:

I think it was in those days that agent had lower deals...a lot of airlines have now cut out the middle man . Definitely better direct

Lesson i learnt don't put all your money in one account and i put all my money in savings account that has no debit card and my debit card account doesn't have more than 3k at a time . Even 1k self

Yeah it’s a Monzo thing definitely. She’s going to open another bank account soon. Thank you. Glad you got yours all sorted out.

giselle237:
sorry about your experience. maybe this problem is from Monzo. They should be able to help you quicker.
Mine was flight tickets as well. MThey also followed up with the merchant’s bank when they started to spill rubbish. Tickets were still valid for time of travel and I used them without any hitch.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Mimzyy(f): 11:16pm On Mar 19, 2022
Was trying to see if I could get something cheaper as prices were high on the airlines websites. Sometimes, agents/third party websites (genuine ones) have access to deals from these airlines that they will not directly offer to individuals…

justwise:

I still do not understand why people buy ticket from 3rd party website or agents rather than directly from the airlines

Since we are discussing scams, I’ll like to chip this in…
Let’s be careful when purchasing air tickets as well because there are some websites that are now designed mainly for fraudulent activities. My mum intends travelling to naija later this year and I started searching for an affordable ticket online, I stumbled upon cheapflights.co.uk and found a deal on Lufthansa for £400 plus. I was redirected to this website https://www.helloflights.co.uk/ where I was asked to fill in the passenger’s information, I did that promptly and few hours later I was contacted by one of the representatives of the company.

I provided all the required information and even sent my mum’s passport data page for verification of the names. After all said and done, I was sent an email requesting a deposit of about £100 which I did promptly then I replied the email stating that I’ve made the payment and asked for the ticket to be issued, the guy told me the ticket will be issued when full payment is made and I told him I was ready to pay in full as I didn’t initially request for part payment plan. He then told me that I had until June to make the payment and the ticket price is locked and guaranteed so I should not worry. I felt something off but I didn’t go with my gut feeling that day so I agreed but I asked him to send me the airline reference so I can double check on Lufthansa website myself. This took another 24 hours before I could get it and I checked, the reservation was there but there was no ticket number so I knew it was just a booking and not a confirmed ticket.

I called the agent back severally and no one picked. I then decided to send an email requesting ticket issuance. There was no response to that email. I called all through the next day and it was same. The next day, I decided to check their reviews again, I had previously done this but I just checked the first page of the reviews on trustpilot but this time, I filtered the reviews to show me the one star reviews and my findings shocked me to the bone marrow. Lots of people were in the same situation as I was…

To cut the story short, I called them back with another number and this time, they picked. I calmly told them my findings and said I wanted a refund. This is how the scam works, when they have you pay the deposit, they send an email containing the flight reservation and somewhere in that email written in the tiniest of fonts is a caveat stating that your quoted fare is only valid for about 3 days from the date you paid the deposit but this will be contrary to what you will be told over the phone. They’ll infact ensure that you’re convinced to pay closer to your travel date. Then when that time comes, you’ll be told that that fare is not valid again and you’ll then be made to pay through your nose even higher than what the airline is selling directly at that moment.

Anyway, I raved, ranted, cursed over the phone and the guy asked me to send an email requesting a refund. I told him I was recording all of our conversations and I actually was from that point onwards. Well it will suffice to say that that email was not responded to and I haven’t had the energy to show them craze since then. I had my mum open her Monzo app and report the transaction as fraudulent with evidence showing I requested ticket issuance even before the allotted date in their email. Monzo stated that they had contacted them and it will take up until 22 July before they hear back from them merchant. Anyway we’ve counted our loss and moved on.

I eventually purchased directly from British airways website to avoid any more stories that touch because I was really shaken by that experience despite my supposed “wokeness level”. They are also a registered company because I checked on gov.Uk so the level at which they operate is different from the norm. So let’s be careful out there and be very mindful cos the level of scam is just on another level entirely.

There’s quite a good number of apartments in Gravesend/Dartford that suits your budget (I just checked) Check zoopla again…

The school is university of Westminster and it's on Marylebone road. I've checked Kent, areas like Gravesend, Rochester, Dartford, Maidstone and many more but the prices are just way off. I use Rightmove and Zoopla though. I'd appreciate if anyone can share links to other good sites I can check. Thanks

Boot has all the ranges in stock smiley

Or directly on Laroche website Uk. Free samples on every order above £35.

https://www.laroche-posay.co.uk/

captainhoo:

It is worth the hype. The baume/balm is thicker than the lait/lotion ( this is different from the lotion with urea sold by boots). The lipikar lotion is sold on amazon( the twin pack is more cost effective) and pharmeden. Co. Uk as well.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Mimzyy(f): 6:34pm On Jan 04, 2022
That’s fine. Whichever one it is, if you take advantage of the offers, you’ll get good bargains.

captainhoo:

I was referring to the baume/balm not the lait (lotion). The lipikar baume for baby and the adult has same INCI list in same order.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Mimzyy(f): 5:08pm On Jan 04, 2022
Not really bro. The mens range and baby range contain the same ingredients while the womens range is different. The former is lipikar baume Ap + M while the latter is lipikar lait urea 5+. Everyone can use the lait too BUT it cannot be applied on the face and men don’t have the patience to be applying different cream on their face as you know cheesy . See attached. Plus I always buy in bulk when it’s on offer in boots grin. Never bought full price. My last purchase was even done with my advantage points wink cheesy.

captainhoo:

La roche posay lipikar range is bae. I use it too. By the way, the baby lipikar balm and the adult's is the same - same ingredients, same order. The difference is the baby drawn on the package and it is more expensive than the adult's grin grin

I’m not sure if you have gotten a suitable response but I’ll recommend LaRoche Posay body wash and moisturising balm as that’s what I use for my children. Pictures and link attached. I use the adult range, so also does their dad. Look into it, you’ll love it.
