Just reminded me a case of young man in his early 20s, left his hostel in Birmingham (UK). took a bus to Birmingham international airport with just his wallet, international passport and a flight ticket he printed in his room. His fellow students who saw him leave the hostel, thought he was going to get groceries.....11hrs later, he was knocking at his parents gate past midnight. His family was shocked, he requested a room should be prepared for him that he was feeling sleepy, he locked himself in that room for 4 days without coming out though en-suite but he didn't eat nor communicated with anyone. The family being an influential one, had to be hush about it. It was the consultant psychiatrist where I worked, that was called in and got him to open the door and the guy looked like something else, it took so much experience to get him come over to our facility to be admitted. It was a very complicated diagnosis and he was established to be struggling with schizoaffective disorder and the 4 months he was in the facility was hair-raising. ![]() |
Smart youngster, wish him greater heights. |
Opurumiri:People who are homeless are more prone to mental health issues. Which city/town is she in? |
From malaria to cancer......the journey! ![]() |
TheGift:Did you bother to read my other posts after it? |
TheGift:You think you just show up and be allowed to look after teenagers in the UK without being skilled or you think, it is Nigeria you pick up any random person to look after minors? |
Curse777:Not Oxford but Cambridge, his grandfather attended Cambridge, FFK's father was born in the UK and also attended Cambridge, FFK also did his postgraduate studies in Cambridge and graduated but got mixed up with substance abuse. |
To the phantom Fulani letter writer, I hope this reply meets you in good health and spirits. Do not weep for the igbos, they are not worse off than you in every aspect of human capital development, sort out the low literacy level of your people, high infant mortality rate etc and above all when you live outside your abodes, make efforts to rent rooms and live in them as other humans do, as it is not an abomination to pay rent, instead in living in shacks and forests. Igbos are not giving up on education and never would, in 5 years Imo state alone had 9,000 of her indigenes admitted into Nigerian universities to study medicine, some states in your region could not raise up to 600 of their indigenes in that same 5 years to study medicine, there was a year a state could only get less than 70 students that gained admission to study medicine in Nigerian universities . ....remember the recent story of the 14 year old wife of one of your kinsmen who was divorced by your cousin because she was attended to by a male doctor when giving birth? That is the result of your people's deliberate plan not to have majority of your daughters to dream beyond being married as minors. Focus on why some of your children need only to score 2 to be admitted into a Federal Government College while a kid from South East need to score 139 to gain the same admission. I summarize my reply with Luke 23:28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children 😂😂😂😂 |
BALLOSKI:No. |
EmirOfNews:With the age of your baby, one of you must always be at home for the baby....if you can, I will suggest you come with wifey and leave baby at home with either of your mothers, if they are still around and after 6 months or thereabout when you both have fully settled, wifey can go bring your child as that what many couples I know did, one school mate of mine left behind a 4 month old baby with her mum while she came over with hubby, they lived in one room in a shared house, both hustled to pay off the remaining tuition fees as hubby was working fulltime, by the 7th month they rented a 2 bedroom flat and wifey went back to Nigeria to get their baby as they have achieved a work pattern that would have one of them at home at any point to care for their baby. There is a Nigerian couple on Youtube who did same, I think the husband went after 7 months or thereabout to get their 11 months old daughter and their 3 year old daughter. |
EmirOfNews:Is it a postgraduate program that qualifies your dependents to relocate with you? |
Stranded because it was not well planned. |
EmirOfNews:What type of visa, are you intending to relocate with? |
Princedapace:Night shift is an option and when I did it, I was allowed to work on my dissertation while on shift. |
They should go rent houses or buy land and build houses, stopping that lifestyle of living in shanties in many locations they live in large numbers. Can't forget the notorious koto mallam that is located next to Ojota new garage in Lagos way back from the 1980s, don't know if that settlement still exists. |

hustla:But you are already on a rung of the ladder and that is big, if you get to the top rung you can set up your own home and if it gets successfully registered and standards well adhered to, na cash out level you go dey cruise. ![]() |
FxMasterz:You are welcome. |
hustla:Actually, it is UK govt that paid for it under their apprenticeship program with my company forwarding our names and paying their own little share of the cost. I am still doing it as it would terminate at Level 4 Children, young people and families practitioner. My field is Clinical child psychology, I am into more of neurodevelopmental assessments, children and young persons with emotional and behavioural disorders. |
hustla:My company paid for my training alongside my colleagues, so I do not how much though I have moved to clinical settings, working in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), |
hustla:Na that bit, go fit put you for trouble one day! ![]() Hope your company is offering you QCF, for career progression? |
FxMasterz:Residential children home support worker. Some companies train you from the scratch, while some company expect you to come with work experience and Level 3 certification in children residential care. |
Allisgud:No, in a residential children home. |
UnfairLife7:For that one child, there are about 8 workers working in that home, doing their own 12hrs shifts except the house manager, who starts by 9a.m and goes home by 5p.m. |
Brownshoe:They are children in care, that means children who have been taken away from their families by the government through the court, after it has been established that the environment where the child was, is not safe nor of the best interest of the child. When you hear say government collect pikin from parents, na such places dem put the pikin. |
Praktikals:Waking night support worker in a residential children home. |
sammirano:You then take up day shifts. |
UnfairLife7:Your body will readjust, from 9.30a.m or thereabout your body will begin to shut down and you will be feeling sleeping. ![]() It is only for 5 nights a week. |
UnfairLife7:Very possible.....you get home by 9a.m, have a shower and a meal, then go to bed and wake up around 5p.m and have another meal, lazy around the internet, then take a shower and leave for work at about 7.15p.m, get there at about 7.45p,m, chat with the day staff as they hand over to you and they also reserve a cooked meal for you in the microwave.....another wake night shift begins. ![]() |
