Which is almost 7 out of every 10 Nigeria living in poverty, do you even a clear idea of what leadership or you need to justify your stipends....why is Tinubu not campaigning with the achievements of the nearly 8 years of APC led federal governmentt, in order to convince Nigerians across board to continue to put their trust in APC? |

CoronaVirusRelo: Jobless youths!
Their mates are busy making things happen and leading tech and innovations, they are busy showcasing their nuisance online!
One would think at a time like this, when Africa needs all hands on deck, stupidity of this nature won’t be abound Let them showcase their nuisance, they may earn some dollars from Youtube views. APC led government recently acknowledged that about 63 per cent of Nigerians are living in poverty after almost 8 years in power, who is the real nuisance here? Did the ruling party intentionally create conducive environment that massively inspire the youth to make things happen in tech and innovations?.......Ordinary 24hrs electricity, ended up becoming rocket science. |

saintopus: In no too distant future, traditional marriages will be conducted by Nigerians in the UK, US and other foreign nations.
The era of conducting traditional marriages in our local communities will soon be archaic.
No thanks to insecurities. It is not just about insecurities, Igbo traditional weddings have been taking place outside Igboland over the years, I attended one in Yaba, Lagos way back in 2009.....both families are Igbos, they just send the kinsmen back home in the village, their own share. There are many YouTube videos on Igbo traditional weddings held outside Nigeria. |

meetme01: In many scenarios, the extended family can take custody of the subject. I would not want to divulge because, I'd be intruding on OP's privacy.
However, for learning purpose, there is a principle in social work called -self individualization- every case can never be the same no matter how closely related hence, they should be treated differently. Every case has its own intervention and resolution. That's why I said, until you bring both parties together, you can never be too sure why the extended family have the custody of the subject.
Yes, it is wrong especially when the subject is a minor but due to some reasons known to both parties, the custody is with the extended family. I can assure you, if this case gets to the social welfare agency, it will be resolved in less than 24rs after the joint sessionn List some of these scenarios where the birth mother is still alive without reference to OP's case. |
Family › Re: Late Husband's Family Withholding Her Aunt's Child by Mindlog: 8:26pm On Nov 27, 2022 |
meetme01: There is still no way you deal with custody issues if you don't involve social welfare services. As I said, the general public needs proper sensitization on social welfare services. If custody will be awarded to any party, there must be an agreement which is the memorandum of understanding and if it cannot be resolved, social welfare will refer them to the family court. After adjudication, the social welfare services will still write to the South African Embassy on the outcome to proof the mother has been awarded full/partial custody. SA will use this to process the subject's travelling document to leave Nigeria.
The first step remains to involve the social welfare department in the state.
Bolded..says who? Don't be judgemental. Because you read the case here does not mean that is the fact. Experience has revealed that everyone is a saint in every issue until proven otherwise. Let her come forward with facts, she will be heard without bias. Judgmental;? Okay, share on what basis can an extended family member have custody of a child that has at least one birth parent alive? |

Tinubu really dropped the bomb on him, there's nobody that has disgraced this country than a Pandora fraud that was saying Naanu on an international TV like CNN, he was such a disgrace that the lady anchor was visibly ashamed of Obi. BAside him being the king of Lamba, At least Obi showed up for interview on a network like CNN, can Tinubu show up for a live interview on local stations like Arise TV, Channels, TVC?....we both know he will be dropping gaffes, content for comedy. |

kansoboy: I want to be factual with you, and not emotional or sentimental. This is Nigeria and worst eastern Nigeria where they do not play with their male child.if u push hard to take that boy away as the mother out of this country and knowing well that once you take that boy away, they will never see him again. Madam no family will let that happen, forget many ppl that will tell you bla bla bla.
My sincere advice to your aunt is this.....leave the boy ,but established a strong communication with him and let him know you are the mother, provide the financial aid you can give ...... When d boy come of age believe me he will come for you, the hardship in this country will give him estral zeal to come looking for you in South Africa when he is old enough. There is nothing sentimental or emotional about going legal with getting the birth mother having full custody of the child she had with the late husband. The law will take the boy away from the father's relatives who have no custodial rights over the child, irrespective of their culture. The law supersedes cultural practices. Kenyan High Commission has succeeded in facilitating in getting custody of a child in such similar situation from Enugu, what makes you think South African High Commission can't? |
Family › Re: Late Husband's Family Withholding Her Aunt's Child by Mindlog: 10:16am On Nov 27, 2022 |
meetme01: People don't know social welfare departments in State are working due to non-challant attitude of civil servants coupled with a lack of proper communication between the general public and the government.
Visit any social welfare office nearest to you, insist you want to see the Director. Explain your predicament. A joint session will be called between parties where an amicable solution will be raised with more emphasis on the child. Afterwards, parties will sign a memorandum of understanding and if parties don't agree on terms, they will be referred to the family court for adjudication. The case comes to a close.
Police rarely involve themselves in social welfare issues. This is more of a custody issue. The South African High Commission in Nigeria would be involved as the child is also South African by birth through his mother with a South African issued birth certificate. The birth father of the child is now late, his relatives have no legal basis to have custody of the child when his birth mother is still alive and involved to an extent in the child's life. |
