I work full-time, my rate is hourly and paid monthly as I work a block of 50 hrs in 5 days then go off for rest for another 5 days after which I resume for another block of 50hrs in 5 days...... productivity is well tracked

My pay here in the UK is hourly based and get paid at the end of the month, alongside other benefits and mind you, hourly paid jobs are not exclusively tied to dead end jobs.

I work, doing mental health assessment for children and adolescents, which is a highly skilled job and I know what I am getting before hand when I am doing a 10 hrs shift....I do a stretch of 5 days work and go off for the next 5 days to rest and do other things, return to do any 5 days......I work 15 days a month, with an option to take up one extra 10hrs shift during my 5 free days......it balances life and work.

Hourly pay did exist in Nigeria, even way back in the 60s/70s as my father worked in Bata shoes that used to be along Ikorodu road(Ojota) as their productivity was based hourly, it was good enough that my father monthly paid some money to the Olorunfunmi family of Oregun (Lagos) for some plots of land in Ojota he was interested in.


Hourly pay reduces laziness and excuses.
