Friend, you see, at first some students seem to get tempted to take me for granted just by my looks. Yeah, I can be as soft as a little kitten, cool and even funny sometimes.

But I have had to balance that with a stick or whip close by. In other words, I'm a very friendly teacher with a stick close by. Cos when things go wrong (like fighting, disrespect, sexual immoralities, not doing homework, etc) then I'll have to put my foot down, and I MIGHT bite a little: just to help if I can. If you were to be hired in a setting where you are to work with children and adolescents with behavioural disorders (ODD, CD, ADHD) and on no account should you physically hit them, how would you cope with that term of employment?

The key word here is disturbing, which I believe you know what it means and it incriminates you before the law, irrespective of your religious leanings.

Friend, I'm an educationist (educational manager), but the point is God's words support such, especially if it's out of love when necessary.

Things we learn at school are men's wisdom. Just because people abuse drugs doesn't make it bad. Just because abuse the act of discipline doesn't make wrong.

I guess during your studies, training to be an educationist you were taught behavioural modification in children, is beating up a child for undesired behaviour part of what you were trained in?

Please, if you have the time, go on YouTube, search "Scared straight program". Hear what their kids do to there parents, teachers and friends. And see if that's what you want for yours...

Nevertheless, this thread is not to justify bullying or abuse of any kind, but proper Corrections when necessary. I've encouraged people not to try it if they don't know how, or if they're hot tempered.

If you are angry, you are the type that would come the following day as a parent with police or thugs to come and teach me a lesson, even though your child is terribly going astray.

If you know how much I love my students/pupils, you should be shame of getting angry in the first place.

I know some are quite content seeing their kids going naughty, eccentric and disrespectful to elders including their teachers (why won't they disrespect even you yourself?).

Sorry, the bad news is I can't stand that. You can keep your money (from experience). In the class I'm the authority, and you do as I say (whether in Pry 1 or 'SSS 4 class').

You see, growing up, I was a victim of indiscipline and social vices myself, and now I can't afford to not help the young ones to avoid the mistake I made, if it's not too late: cos I try to discipline with wisdom, not with Anger or Pride (otherwise, I would deserve better strokes too).

That's not the appropriate corrective measure for such when it comes to Child Psychology. In saner climes you will be arrested, prosecuted and barred from working anywhere near young ones.

Have a relative who had ended his marriage with his now ex-wife, despite all warnings not to try anything funny with their then 4 year old daughter...he went ahead under the disguise of child visitation, sneaked out of Lagos with their daughter to the village where his mum took charge of looking after her.

The ex-wife got the social welfare office in Lagos involved, they got the police involved. The Police brought back the relative, his mum and the daughter to Lagos. Their daughter reunited with the mother while the other 2 had to face court case. Lagos state government don't joke with such incident.

Public schools anthem during inter-house sports back then. Though tribalistic, I still got a good laugh remembering the images of kids singing it back then.

The kilt is traditional to the Scots and Irish. The first time I saw it in real life was as a kid during our Parish's children harvest as our then Parish Priest was Irish. He wore it after Mass and the entire Parish went abuzz, people screaming "Father is wearing skirt".

One of the reasons I laugh at those relating wearing of trousers, gowns and skirts to religion.

Like in my first post, if she can prove she is legally resident in Spain before the travel to Nigeria, she and the children would get themselves back in Spain....It is no rocket science for a good lawyer to handle. Get her proof of employment there, proof of the children in the Spanish educational system etc
