see emoney kids at 40 see ur child at 41..I look at some ppl that think they are grooving.wise men get married and continue grooving.marriage does not stop anythg.
Don't forget there are men who are in their 40s who got married well over a decade ago but are still struggling with conception with their wives, so don't measure from that perspective.

Good evening guys,

I am doing this as last resort cos I have been thoroughly embarrassed and suicidal since last week Friday.

I was robbed last week Friday at tollgate, ota. The sum of 567,000 was collected from me. Which wasn't my money, I collected the money from my a prospective tenant for delivery to the landlord, (I am an agent).

I informed them of what happened but they said it wasn't their business and I must provide the money. I have been thoroughly embarrassed at my workplace by the tenant and was even told to leave work by my employers to sort it out.

The tenant and landlord gave me till this weekend, ive run round but everyone is broke because of the situation in the country. My wife and kids have been thoroughly embarrassed from the events cos they came with thugs to shout in the compound.

Guys please I need help, what can I do. I have been weeping all day. My child keeps asking me questions but I am ashamed. Never been so humiliated.

@lalasticlala please help me lalasticalala
Why wasn't the sum paid into your bank account by the prospective tenant?

Na the childhood beatings hardened many to become more aggressive, less empathetic etc as adult Nigerians. Beatings do not instill integrity, it generates fear which wears out over time.

you know the solution to your problems but is just unfortunate that the environment would not allow you discipline them in an African way which they frown upon out there. I suggest you send them to Nigeria to learn some moral upbringing through African way than letting the situation eat you up...it is only a suggestion cos I'm sure that I can definitely tow the same path for the sake of my sanity,I cannot come and go and kill myself for any pikin....
Please share how the "moral upbringing through African way" is reflecting positively in the daily life in Nigeria today?

It is strange seeing a mother quite against the idea of diagnosing her son in my own case it was my husband,he kept on saying it was not what it is whereas it was.in my son case,he had all you mention coupled with speech problem the PD neurologist guarded us on how to go about it, he was even placed on drugs to calm him,for the speech,he was given alot of programs on YouTube and other learning apps like lingo and co.pls he needs to be evaluated quickly.like your son, mine is the smartest too but the behavioral problem can be dampening.
I am impressed whenever I read or see Nigerian parents taking up early professional intervention for their children who are neuro-diversified as it helps both kids and parents have a clearer understanding of what they are dealing with.

I hope the YouTube contents provides your son with lots of sensory activities.
Family › Re: My Son's Behavior Is Getting Out Of Hand by Mindlog:
Talk to you wife as you both need to be on the same page regarding your son, so you can both take your son for detailed assessment by a Clinical Child Psychologist....what you described is very indicative of ADHD as it meets the criteria for it in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) which is more like the universal standard Psychiatrists and Psychologists use for diagnosis.

Early professional intervention would really help, in as much as there is likely going to be prescriptions (can't mention them), try to get play therapy to be incorporated as part of the treatment plan as he would certainly enjoy the sessions.

Relocating back to Nigeria should be out of the equation because when it comes to professional intervention in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) there aren't much going on in Nigeria, very few professionals in the field in comparison to the overwhelming need.

Hmm ...what did I say against the Christian life?
So beating children as the only means of disciplining them as you have alluded from the onset, is one of the tenets of Christianity?

You know very well you do not have the capacity to help a child when it comes to behaviour modification because anything outside flogging seems to be rocket science to you, hiding under the cover of religion.

E be like say you never meet kids with first class oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)and conduct disorder (CD) where your cane becomes useless as a means of enforcing discipline.

Better go improve yourself with personal development if you truly want to go far working with young ones, the day they would collect that cane from you is when you will realize that you have got nothing as you shouldn't be an educationist who can only function where flogging is allowed.

Children are evolving by the second, just as they are fearing less by the second.

It seems you're just looking for an opportunity to catch me somewhere. I quoted them because of you when you said something against the christian life.

All schools already had it as their means... I didn't introduce it to them. So, it's not about my religion.

What a topic!

I dedicate Memories by Maroon 5 to the ones we’ve lost.

Here’s to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here but you’re not
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we’ve been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back
Memories bring back you

There’s a time that I remember when I did not know no pain
When I believed in forever
And everything would stay the same
Now my heart feel like December
When somebody say your name
‘Cause I can’t reach out to call you
But I know I will one day
Hey

Everybody hurts sometimes, everybody hurts someday
Eh eh
But everything gon’ be alright, go on raise a glass and say
Eh

Here’s to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here but you’re not
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we’ve been through
Toast to the ones here today
Toast to the ones that we lost on the way
‘Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
And the memories bring back
Memories bring back you.
A masterpiece, one of my go to songs alongside Pachelbel' s Canon in D Major whenever I feel like disconnecting. If you listen to the almost 400 years old Canon in D Major, you will realize it inspired Marion 5's Memories.

If you don't mind, consider these, friend:
Prov.23.13 - Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.

Prov.13.24 - He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.

Prov.22.15 - Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.

2Sam.7.14 - I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

Heb.12.10 - Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.

Heb.12.11 - No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been TRAINED by it.

Anyway, you don't have to agree with my views.

Take care.
Don't apply your personal religious beliefs on another person's child. If for example I am an Atheist or an Agnostic, what right have you to use your interpretation of the Bible to discipline my child?

You can even choose to use iron rod on your biological children but should anything happen to them, don't think the Nigerian Police will spare you even if you quote from Genesis to Revelation.

That's different friend. You see, I'm a christian, and I like to stick to rules. If it's not convenient I won't accept the offer. Or I go for the right training to fit in.

I've done private tutoring a lot. I've had parents told me that I'm too soft on their children (they want me to be beating them). It's easier to beat at school than at home. If you're not quite friendly you won't be able to help private students well (my opinion).

One Dad even ended up giving me one scary item looking like a mixture of wires. I wasn't even willing to touch it. But I think it was helping. They were quite respectful and in order at home. I would call him the no nonsense Dad.
Never you link physically hitting children as a reflection of your Christian faith, it is irrational.

They are not respectful but are fearful of their Dad. When they are grown up and no longer under his control, will they still fear his "no nonsense" approach?

Have you wondered that despite many in Nigeria seeing nothing wrong in going physical with children, many have transitioned into being dysfunctional adults?
