Either you have been intimidated while working with one or you have worked with a lazy one that is if you are an Engineer.
I don't even know where to start with you. As simple as a building make look on site, if you are taking through the thought process that go into it - from the conceptualize stage, design stage ( considering whether elements such as sunlight, wind, rain etc. on the building ), construction stage...
I believe any of the AI app or Google can help you out with the difference between graphic designer, Engineer and Architect.
Like someone said above, Architects being politically inclined, you wouldn't really blame, it's the way we were configured during training in the school of Architecture. Time is not a luxury to us. I do tell people you can concise the time to study your literature but not with your design. If a design it's going to take you three hours to complete that design there is no way you can summarize it else you have incomplete design for your clients or jurors. In literature you can decide to skim and note the important points. This is not the case with architecture every line communicate.

A lot has to be critique on this design.
The location of the master's bedroom, which is suppose to be at the front, the man happens to be the chief security officer of the house so he should be able to see who is going and coming into the premises as long he is around.
The location of the visitor's toilet, it is not properly thought through. The access, the window opening...
Access to the guest room through the dining, by the time you arrange your furniture in the dining space, you will see that there no much space for circulation (where to walk through). It looks more like lobby than dining.
The escape route, the kitchen door should swing outside. It is not just call escape route for nothing. If there is need to run out of that kitchen during fire incident as a worst case scenario, you will not pull the door towards yourself rather push outward.
Guy! Afford to pay a professional (Architect to be specific), rather looking for freebies from quacks.

The Architect will be the first and last professional to leave the site during supervision. Just that the in Nigeria many always circumvent their ways. So stating Architects handling building projects as one of the reasons for building collapse should be the least of it, if at all it will be included. That reminds me, I have seen many people parading themselves as Architects in this forum, that they design and build. NO! Architects are not allowed to advertise themselves, It's completely against the laws of Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) and Architects Registration Council Of Nigeria (ARCON). In fact it's wrong universally. Any Architect involve in it if caught, his or her certificate will be withdrawn. Simply allow your work speaks for itself that is the ethics.
With the permission of time, I'll shed more light on this.
