I feel you bro. It seems it is now cool to hate on any DC movie handled by Snyder. I headed over to IMDB after the bashing reviews and saw a few good ones praising the movie....then scrolled down and saw an epic bashing all directed at BVS. First it was MOS and now this. I'm a DC fan but i think some parts of these reviews might be a bit right. Can't say much till i watch it myself. The only person whose opinion matters should be me and not some random dude on the internet. It will be fatal if the Justice League spinoff gets the kind of reception BVS is getting. So many folks base their opinion on reviews on the internet.

seriously. Its the RT rating that's killing me. 29%? Where's thor 2, age of ultr0n? Amazing spidey 2? Ir0n man 2 and 3, superman returns, etc? 29%?

Dude, so now I apparently hate the DCEU in its entirety, calm down, so because the man spent 3 years working on it, we should applaud him for his work, regardless of quality of said work? I just had to explain the Flash & the dream scene to my cousin - how it was based on an AU & Flash warning Bruce about it. My cousin is a self confessed fanboy of MoS, he came straight from the airport to watch it with his brother & he's fuming about it - he walked out during the last 10 minutes. I have pointed out how I was entertained by the film, even though I was annoyed by it. And the more I kept chatting with him, I realised why I was annoyed, I was annoyed on behalf of the average

am n0t saying u should applaud anyb0dy, all am saying u should c0nsider the man's hardwork. Really, i feel a great pity for snyder. The man is just too hated. Did he kill any0ne? He's just trying to earn a living. Gosh, people. Am sure if it was n0lan, spielberg, fincher who presentd BvS every critic would be bowing. Snyder? Every critic's like what good could c0me fr0m snyder? Thats how i view their reviews. Seriously i pity the man. He seems like a genuine gentleman.

8/10 is way too nice. I was honestly really annoyed with the film, then the final fight happened & I kinda forgot 'cause I was stoked when WW appeared in her armour to fight - seriously, folks were clapping when WW appeared in that scene (Nigerians & their clapping antics). Just seen my cousin's review on Facebook, which reminded me of one of my pet peeves in the film - unnecessary slow motion. Did they really need the slow motion for Bruce visiting his parents' graves? The whole emphasis on Martha's name during the first act bugged me, I kept wondering, why are they hiding Thomas' name? Then it hit me...oh good old fashioned ham fisted foreshadowing...I should expect its use during a climactic moment...I might have rolled my eyes during said climactic moment. The dream sequence thing was a bit foolish, they have not established a possibility of an alternative/parallel universe in this particular universe (no hint in MoS whatsoever) & to now just drop it into this universe via a dream/vision just like that was a silly decision. Now, I know my AUs & whatnots because I enjoy my sci-fi & I've watched and played those things I mentioned in my earlier post, but what about the average Joe who's only watched MoS?

It's a 12A, it's also being released in 3D, IMAX 3D & 4DX, it's even being released in 70mm prints, it's not banned in China, I expect it to make money, they had a solid marketing campaign, I might have avoided most of the adverts, I think I only saw the Super Bowl ad & the one that showed at my viewing of London Has Fallen...but I digress. They've thrown everything and the kitchen sink into this. This film has to break even, so that's at least double its budget, with a budget of $250 million, it has to make at least $500 million...and we don't know if the budget includes the marketing costs. It all depends on word of mouth, if average Joes tell their friends that it sucked & those friends tell their friends & yada yada yada, no amount of flash will save it. This film can make $400 million easy, but the budget is big thing, it needs to make around $600 to $800 million. $1b is not going to happen, unless fanboys decide to camp at the cinema or someone decides to make a Faustian deal. It hinges on word of mouth. I can see it getting $600 million, if folks decide to watch it like a Michael Bay film.

God, cao i get it. U hate BvS and if i may say the Dceu but must you be this pessimistic? Gush This is s0me0ne's 3 year hardwork. I get u hate the film and its your opinion but God! You are over doing this. Many audience so far love the film and give it an 8 or 7 with all its flaws. Can't u find anything good in the m0vie? All these BvS trashing gets me frustrated on being a DC fan. Now am forced to go download the CAMRip versi0n seeing as there are no cinemas here, just to have my opinion. God, am tired of being in the dark. If this film fails in my eye, am d0ne with c0mic book films or better still i'll stick with the x men films except dpool and leave this mcu dcu shit.

Oh also, the people who are saying this is a pile of garbage are completely wrong and should not be taken seriously. The film does have some major editing issues but beyond that, the film is very solid... the only issue aside from editing that gets in the way is Lex with him being out of place and very annoying. I also have a hard time calling him Lex Luther since he was not Lex Luther AT ALL.

I get the collateral damage issue, really. My problem is that using Star wars as an excuse is pretty dumb. If he had mentioned Avengers that would have even made more sense. The difference also between Avenger and MoS was they were seen trying to get people to safety and avoid casualties. In MoS there was none of that, Supes even used a building full of people as weapon against Zod

That's other guys problem not mine, mine is the kill policy. Some heroes have a moral code and some don't. Let me watch the movie first before I conclude

You said the avengers, and M0s was a solo superman m0vie that had him fighting a villain much powerful than him bent on killing him, his mum, and the people of earth. During the course of the fight, there was no flash, gl, ww, cyborg, aquaman to save the civillians. And if you watched closely, supes never took the fight to the offices. How did he kill them? People fail to grab the c0ntext of M0s. What if a superman were to c0me or be on earth? Do you really think there'd be no c0nsequences? D0n't let the marvel f0rmula take your reas0ning. When you are in a fight with a mad being that means ur life and those you care about and the greater g0od, would you be thinking at that m0ment the safety of those viewing the fight, cats on a tree or trying to c0ntend the fight and win it? The c0ncept of these films are of the imaginati0n, what if these were to happen n0w? Just like TDK was about what if batman was just a man trying to be m0re than what he was. You d0n't just show the man as powerful and perfect. It takes fr0m the narative. Its n0t like superman the m0vie where every0ne was okay with an alien being on earth or a human being dying for it outrightly. In M0s, we startd with lois pitying these creature who's trying to do g0od, live n0rmal and fit in but couldn't. She saw a humanity in him. N0w thats a c0ncept. It could happen but what can't is in the other film where lois outrightly pines for an alien. In avengers we had every0ne just been c0ol at the end with an alien invasi0n without asking questi0ns, the USA army nowhere to be found during the battle of new york which i d0n't blame cos it wasn't dealing with the c0ncept of realism.

These critics are professionals and get paid for this, it's their source of livelihood and they can't afford to be seen as biased. These are the same critics that gave The Dark Knight trilogy wonderful reviews. So there's obviously something wrong with the film, maybe it's not as bad as they're saying but I blame that on the hype, we were promised something spectacular and they probably didn't deliver

talking about critics and integrity, ever seen the m0vie Birdman? It portrays critic bias in hollywood. In a scene, it showed a critic already writing her review before even seeing the previous batman actor's character in the film performing on broadway. I d0n't think its the script, we've heard Jesse Eisenberg prays it time without number for its philosophic approach. I think they're tearing it down because the film portrayed a bad image of U. S <what snyder films always do a la watchmen and m0st films that tend to do, olympus has fallen, l0nd0n has fallen> or they were paid to tear it down. I remember menti0ning that here b4 the m0vie was released. To me, i would like every0ne to go read, Jesse Eisenberg's m0ck review of a n0n existent m0vie aiming to m0ck critics. That write up totally explains whats happening n0w with BvS. Well i'll like every0ne to go see the m0vie and make his own opinion.

For DC fans, Snyder should direct JL or he should produce it with George miller directing Terrio's script if WB think snyder's cursed. But to me, snyder isn't cursed, he's misunderst0od. He should be left to do JL 1. For snyder to redeem his public image, he should direct an indie m0vie thats em0ti0nal and without acti0n.

From some of the reviews I've read on metacritic and RT, I could tell that many of these sadistic reviewers were taken aback by DC's take on realistic and serious superhero movies. I can't imagine some of these hacks suggesting that the Marvel way should have applied. Just read what one of the hack reviewers on metacritic said:

It’s tough to take all the hardcore emoting seriously, particularly as the emotional heavy lifting is designed to be done by the occasional maudlin line in brief pauses between the explosions. For a film so concerned with its characters’ inner lives, there’s a fundamental disconnect going on here – enough to make you yearn for the lighter touch of the Marvel films.

Must everybody follow Marvel's standard? That's a dim-witted way to review a movie. I would say many of these reviews were intricately biased and I'm sure the audience scores will do justice. I personally noticed many of them dislike and seem to have an innate hatred for Snyder's interpretation, hence, eagerly condemning the entire movie. Already, audience reviews on RT are overwhelmingly positive, that's good enough for me.

n0w why do critics hate snyder? If N0lan had released this, they'll be salivating with praise. Eisenberg foresaw this when he wrote an article m0cking the critics. I guess i'll have to see the film before i make c0mments. But BvS didn't fail.

Isn't that superman statue the one they showed in the trailers? I saw a full blow-by-blow BvS narration in the spoiler website I gave the link up there. I was almost tempted to read the whole thing but one line I saw was the death of Supes and Martha kent. I closed my browser immediately though make dem no spoil the surprise for me. Some peeps are already saying that Superman was treated badly in the movie due to his death. I guess this is the part of the movie is what leaves people with divided opinion. Why the hell should he die and batman lives to lead Justice league...lol? I like the outline of the movie already, this movie will change the Superhero genre forever! Unfortunately, I won't be watching it until next week Tuesday at my local cinema here. The full movie story would have circulated by then.

bro please give me the spoiler link. Superman would be back though. Em' where do you stay? And why isn't the m0vie coming into Naija this week?

There's a big spoiler about the death of a character...what if this character was superman? . Just so you know, this movie also draws inspiration for the superman/doomsday battle from the comic The death of Superman . The spoiler says justice league will be formed at the end because of this...

i have been saying that since i heard during filming that they were sculpting a superman statue. Am guessing those clips featuring that statue is at the end of the film. Am sure darkseid brings him back hence the bat visi0n of supes being evil.

if we are to go by your logic it means deadpool a n0n disney film made by fox, disney's rival out sold all mcu phase 1 films leaving the avengers. Let me clarify you, M0S was a 1st entry film into the DCEU and it was able to beat mcu phase 1 films. Deadpool made it cos of the marvel logo and character appeal. As of today superman doesn't have that much of an appeal. They made the character and his c0mics st0rylines cliched without any real threat.

based on box office success, its a no-brainer Imo... yes Dc might have been there first and maybe there films might be a lil bit more thought proving(though apart from the dark knight and the upcoming bvs, dont see anything special in the rest in storytelling) but you can't argue against marvel having the pulling power when it comes to making money...
