MoS didn't beat Suicide Squad, but it was a better start. Building on MoS (little) success would've helped the DCEU brand better since it had a well-grounded and mature take.

u d0n't get my argument with hulk616. He's of the idea that a film is meant to be a guaranteed success if the character is A list and PG rated. But i debunked that theory.

the misc0ncepti0n was with suicide squad. Wb must have thought its success was due to harley quinn. I've always doubtd that character's influential factor. Heck, i tried explaining to a certain guy here that cos joker was a hit didn't mean the film audience were into crazy clowns. But he was persistent. If u l0ok at the stats, there are films that m0ve the audience, the c0ncept BOP went with was an all too c0mm0n c0ncept. And the worst part was it had no A lister to draw in audiences.

Black Adam will do very well, there is nothing to worry about.

But from now on WB should stop producing films that no one asked for.
I have looked at DCEU slate from Man Of Steel to BOP.

BOP is the only DC film that has no business being in existence, no one asked for it, doesn't push the DCEU forward and only there to add to Harley Quinn story.

Another major reason for BOP box office travails is the fact that it is R rated...
BOP had no business being R rated...freaking Suicide Squad was PG13 and it earned $700m....if you take away the teenagers that went to see the film, you would be looking at only $400m.
So yes PG13 is an advantage, not every film can try R rated and do well. Birds of Prey is suffering now cuz many young DC fans can't see the film.

Moving forward, a spin-off like Gotham City Sirens (if it ever happens) should stick with PG13.

Female centric comic book films struggle to take off at box office....only a handful has managed to break the glass ceiling.

We can breath a sigh of relief as we ain't getting any more BOP-like unnecessary films again , the slate looks solid....BOP should hopefully break even but nothing spoil.

Gbam! I said this when BoP was ann0unced, but s0me said i was being a snyder fanatic. A BOP film wasn't right when the dceu is trying to find its feet. Had they g0ne with chris mcquarrie's pitch for a superman film right after the wave of missi0n imp0ssible, wb would've had a hit.

bro, u can't c0mpare the cgi with aquaman or avatar. If cyborg cho0ses to go ambitious, the film would attract audiences. Take avatar for instance, it t0ok on a theme and a subject in a most dynamic manner that it seemed new and interesting.

bros, u didn't follow Arrow like i did. Forget katie cassidy's white skin or whatever. She sucked as black canary bk in seas0n 1-4. Her acting and the character was so bland that the show had to kill off her character. Audiences c0mplained abt her, critics etc. The show had to c0me up with a better way to reintroduce black canary. And that was with an0ther actress julianna harkavy.

why would a cyborg film fail? If the theme, the c0ncept isn't anything c0mm0nly seen on cinema, it w0n't fail. Ever askd yourself why black panther was a hit? How often do we see superhero films of pred0minantly black casts in a setting n0t american? It's these elements that bring people to cinema. A cyborg film if ambitious, with a story teller like chris n0lan, would do well.

i w0n't blame WB on this. It's human error. They mist0ok Harlequinn's popularity in SS and fast tracked a spin off without carefully carrying out a feasibility study on the cinema market.

Aquaman's release date played a significant roles as to its huge box office numbers. For BoP, I can't really tell whats the actual cause if it isn't proper marketing, cause the reviews are ok. And for me, I don't know why, I prefer movies that scored 80-89% RT score than those that scored 90%+, maybe because of some movies sha.
I'm really pained for what am seeing honestly.

the reas0n is that the c0ncept or idea for BoP is too c0mm0n, it offers n0thing new or fresh, plus no one really asked for the m0vie. The film's plot is s0mewhat similar to jas0n statham's SAFE. A very c0mm0n hollywood trope.

How did DCEU's movie descend so low (for that) I can't tell, but all I can say is: WB is a disappointment to their fans.

Even Joker that did it with less budget had its first critics reviews (the ones that loved the movie) released almost 2-3wks before it premiered date. That alone gave more room for "a must see movie" mindset for those who didn't care at first.

This is part of the "panic-mode" I said in my earlier post. Once this movie fall short of their Oblivion standard, box-office-wise, then boom another reboot will be on its way coming....

Superheroes movies are not cheap movies, so WB should stop using horror/comedy movie budget numbers for superheroes genre please. They need to put their house in order and do more marketing for DCEU movies. Only DP and Joker had done more than expectations with lower budget. Shazam tried it and failed, not because the story wasn't ok, but because of most things in it looked too cheap for adults to accept - the costumes come to mind. Mind us, adults take kids to the movies.

I still pray and hope BoP have long-leg!

bro, it's n0t the marketing. Aquaman didn't go BvS marketing length but it made a billi0n. Why BOP won't go far at BO, just rests on the film and its c0ncept. Not marketing.

Birds of Prey [the movie] won't flop. It'll rather under perform at the BO. And the reas0n for this, is; let's be h0nest to ourselves. No one really asked for this m0vie. Me, for example, didn't ask for it or wanted it made. Am n0t going to see it, h0nestly. I'd rather wait to download it, and save m0ney for ww84. I'd have preferred this film after the dceu was well developed n0t when the dceu is figuring itself out. And to tell the truth, the film didn't have anything new to tell audiences, new element that has n0t been seen in cinema. We've seen the girl power, lgbt, john wick kinda action, we've seen it all. Cyborg would've been the right m0vie to follow Joker in the order of dc film releases. Final BO prediction $601 million or $543 mill.
