I never said Algeria will be a walkover...I'm just against you downplaying our opponents just because we outplayed them..
The teams in Algeria group being regular AFCON knockout stage customers doesn't negate the fact that we also faced some good oppositions ..
If we are to go by your logic, then we are supposed to beat Algeria, seeing as we have better AFCON pedigree than them
boss me, hope if i elongate this argument hope you no go start dey vex ooo😂😂😂…i don dey fear una for this platform oo

ok ok ok ok now bro listen i am not downplaying our opponents….does it means one cant say an opponent is a weak opponent? and then it wont sound like one is downplaying the effort of the dominant team?

baba Algeria playing and winning against 2 strong teams that are regulars of afcon knockout stages and sending home DRC another crazy african team means the Algerian team is a strong team…..
Tunisia of this Afcon will not come out of that Algerian group with 9points🤣

Yes baba we have a better afcon pedigree than Algeria and we are suppose to beat them….but but but but but look at it very well, Algeria is toughest north african team currently in this Afcon🙏🙏🙌🏻🙌🏻

They are training regularly in Fez where they played the group stage and R-16 matches.

They only refused to travel to Marrakech as scheduled until their allowances and bonuses for the group stage and round of 16 was settled.

Algeria is a damn good team, by my assessment even better than Senegal and I don't feel good about playing them. I hope we win but if results go otherwise. I wouldn't be surprised too.
i so love this word “by my assessment”…it means you have seen a 9 where others were seeing a 6….anyways from Assessment its seems we are both seeing same thing….we will beat Algeria, but meehn they are very good, way way better than Tunisia in this afcon❤️🙏🙌🏻🙇🏻‍♀️

In the latest FIFA ranking, Tunisia ranks above Burkina Faso, Uganda ranks above Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania ranks above Sudan... so what are you saying??
Since the start of the tournament, before every game, some of you harp on how strong our opponents are, then after we win, you turn around to say it was a weak opponent we faced.. why are you like this??
Just give credit where credit is due....
bro i can swear it that before this Afcon started in december, i already saw this group as walkover…infact i carry Tunisia for mind as a revenge say we go beat them wetin no good…you see group that will always shake me at afcon, groups like
Nigeria
CIV
Benin
Zimbabwe
or something similar to this

plss where im i not giving credit, where does is sound like im not giving credit…
we cruised pass our group stage, i gave credit and im still giving credit to the boys for now playing sweeping aside lesser african oppositions….
Why una dey vex becos i say Algeria will pose a tougher test than Tunisia 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

oh chim🤦🏽‍♀️ nairaland eeehn🤣…like in a quarterfinal match against Algeria? 2019 Afcon winners? and you say they will be a walkover like the Tunisian case?….ahhhh issokay God abeg i really hope Algeria will be a low budget Tunisia shaa

now to your FIFA ranking i so 100% agree with you…but baba people in Algeria group are regulars of Round 16 and Quarterfinals compared to ours, since this 24nation afcon started…hope you know that

Is my name people? Why not focus on what I'm saying instead of bringing other people's opinion into the discussion?

Anyway, it is a fact that DRC were just not clinical against Algeria on that day. If you watched the game, you'll see that. DRC's strength is midfield and defense. They are highly physical and they know how to execute good counters, but their point men aren't always the best. Haven't you noticed that majority of their games tend to be low-scoring games? (1-0, 2-0). If Yaone Wissa had played that Algeria game, don't be surprised DR Congo would win or drag the game to PK at least.

It's not about what people are saying. It's about what happens on the pitch.
so why not respect that im actually firing based on what i saw people wrote…i have been typing here based on general submission of people, but you came in with your own argument, so no vex say i might see you as one of those PEOPLE

I agree with you sha, that we have a potent attack in this afcon….

all in all DRC were a stronger and stiffer opponent they met

I watched the games from both groups. Equatorial Guinea have been godawful this tournament. Same with Sudan, they only really turned up in the game against Senegal but that was like for the first 10 minutes only before Senegal started pressing oil from their head. I'll give you Burkina Faso only. But even that Burkina Faso, see how they struggled to beat them.

Tanzania on the other hand have exceeded expectations. When we struggled to edge them 2-1, I thought it was a fluke, but after watching them against Tunisia and Morocco, I have to say they really outdid themselves in this tournament. They almost upset Morocco. Tunisia was flying high until we met them. People forget how easily they dominated Uganda in their first game. As for Uganda, they were poor, I agree, but more like Sudan. Not as disappointing as Eq. Guinea.
also in our group Tunisia and Uganda were shitty team and awful teams…only Tanzania exceeded expectations

They beat DRC because DRC attack was shiitty. Benin pressed this same DRC in their first game so I'm not sipping the DRC kool-aid with you. I'm confident we'll score against them.

This will be a game of who can outscore who because we'll score and we might also likely concede. Although I have to note that our defense has looked slightly better in this knockout stage than during the group stage. Mozambique attack is more lethal than Uganda and Tanzania and yet we were able to keep them quiet for the full 90 mins and even almost scored a 5th.
in group stage many of people here sang the praise of DRC a formidable team🤣….now becos Algeria beat them, they are now shitty🤣🤣….remember even the Senegal in their group couldn’t beat them also….

So what is it about Algeria that makes them a "stiffer" test than Morocco apart from their fast wingers? Their defense is not better than Congo or even Egypt. They faced poor teams in their group. Our group was tougher than theirs. Plus the very first strong opponent they faced dragged them to extra time and would have beaten them if they were more clinical. Algeria haven't faced an attack like ours yet in this tournament. They will surely concede against us.

To me, all the North African teams in this tournament dey the same WhatsApp group. The reason people are hyping Algeria is because they've exceeded expectations.

Many people online were predicting they'll not perform well because of their last AFCON outing where they lost to Mauritania, as well as the fact that their squad is on the aging side. So their performance so far is impressive given the context.

But they're not miles better than Morocco or Tunisia.
Our group is not tougher than theirs ooo, make we calm down dey defend somethings naaa🤣🤣

Algeria
B/Faso
E/guinea
Sudan

Nigeria
Tunisia
Uganda
Tanzania

Since the start of Afcon being a 24nation tourney in 2019 burkina faso and Equitorial Guinea has been romancing around R16 and Quarterfinals stage, that cant be said of Uganda and Tanzania…the DRC dey even beat has also been a regular on the knockout stage…..

dont get me wrong, my money is 100% on Nigeria beating Algeria….but Algeria will be a hardnut to crack….and again i still trust Nigeria to do a “Germany-Brazil 2014” scoreline on them

The statement of them beating DRC who is a stronger opponent in Round 16 is an eyebrow raiser that they will provide a tougher test than Tunisia….many people even said that DRC vs Algeria came so early as a fixture in this afcon..

You are hitting your head against your own imagination.

A thing can happen where a man is reprimanded. However beyond a certain point, it starts looking like malicious attack. You beat a child with your right hand, you draw him close with your left hand.

Osimhen is our golden egg. Whether you guys like it or not. He's human. He erred. Not out of a selfish desire for self aggrandizement but due to his desire to win.

I saw many ungrateful, entitled Nigerians saying that what has he done sef. Gosshhhh I detest black people. That's why this race is one of the most backwardest race in the world. Stupid, ungrateful race. It never appreciates anything and that is why it never progresses because ingratitude is a stumbling block and the most ungrateful race is the black race.

Osimhen fa? Someone that was almost ready to die for us to qualify for the world cup. Look at that goal against Benin when he dipped his head right in front of the boot of the Beninoise defender. Do you know how many screws that young man has in his face? Yet today, just because of an on-field outburst, Nigerians say he's done nothing.

See them, people who are being raped by politicians daily and they offer no single resistance forming self righteous prudes condemning another man who is striving to bring honor to the country.

What he did is bad. Our condemnation must be measured and marked by grace rather than this rashness I see you spewing.
so in all this you have said now, your point is we africans should be a**lickers to a player becos he is a messiah to the team.

See make i tell you, i so appreciate Osimhen im super eagles than any other player…but if he F up in his conduct, we go talk…and anybody that tries to push it on our faces that life after Osimhen is de@th then i will face the person and tell the person GTH…..a time will come he will no longer be a super eagles player, will super eagles now fold up?……my own is people should not go overboard insulting and blasting him, while does fanning his ego should not go overboard to do it(people coming to tell us that Osimhen should retire and leave afcon) is that not a slap to fans and Nigeria at large?

Even the Tunisia has reached more Afcon semifinals than Senegal
They are on the same number of semifinals with Algeria
Even the same number of finals with Algeria and Senegal
And yet you tagged Algeria and Senegal as teams that are regulars at Afcon semifinals and finals 😒

The real regulars that are still in the current competition are
Nigeria
Egypt
Ivory Coast
Cameroon
Algeria and Senegal shouldn't be on that list
