The population in Nairobi is 4 Million.

Lagos is 20 Million.

Give Nairobi 20 Million people then come back and repost your illogical comparison.

Sad enough, I'd think you people should be more concerned about your own kerosene, wheelbarrow and kerosene villages with useless governors.
You people are pathetic.
So population us now a burden?
So what do you want China with a population of 1.4 billion to do?

Nigeria is not even up to 300m and we are complaining about population. What if we are 1billion? Our leaders won't even do anything again.

Is it not our population that makes us the biggest economy in Africa?

Is the govt feeding Nigerians or we are the one feeding them?
Abeg, take a seat.

How do you know I am typing this from lagos, I am in another continent.

What is the problem with u people must everything be about politics.

Lagos is supposed to be like Singapore with the money they make, let us ask questions

I was born and raise in lagos and I studied in the west and I have the right to ask questions, if yorubas in London are occupying public positions in the UK why can't igbos born In lagos talk about lagos

By right I am a yoruba nation citizen

But I am more interested in my father's land now biafran land, because guess what even if I was born in lagos to the yorubas I am still an omo nna and to the fulanis I am still biafran boys

I am not a follow follow zombie and I ask questions and I do not not like any South Eastern politician the only man I like is Peter obi and the rest are under the boots of the fulanis
Thank you my brother.

I don't know why some people can't reason beyond political party, ethnic and religion.

The money being made is Lagos is not commensurate to what we see on ground when we compare Lagos to other African cities like Nairobi, Joburg, Cairo, Algiers
PoliticsRe: Lagos State IGR Represents 32% Of Total IGR In 2020 by Minjim: 3:19pm On Apr 16, 2021
And what has those managing Lagos done with all these revenue earned?

Later some ill-informed people will start comparing Lagos any State in Nigeria.

If you want to be objective compare Lagos with Joburg, Nairobi, Cairo, etc. These are cities earning IGR in the region of Lagos State.
Look at those cities and compare their facilities with Lagos .

BusinessNigeria Is Number One Importer In Africa, Says WTO by Minjim(op): 12:49pm On Apr 16, 2021
Nigeria is the number one importer of commercial services in Africa in 2020, data released by World Trade Organisation showed on Friday.

The Geneva-based international trade organisation ranked Nigeria 25th commercial importer in the world but the first commercial importer in Africa followed by Egypt which was ranked 28th in the world.

While Egypt and Morocco made the list of world exporters led by the United States, Nigeria was conspicuously absent in the global commercial exporters’ list.

The US also ranked first in the commercial importers’ list followed by China, United Kingdom and Japan; while US, UK, China and India topped the exporters’ list.

WTO noted that preliminary estimates were based on quarterly statistics.

“Figures for a number of countries and territories have been estimated by the Secretariat,” it said.

“Data for 2020 are not yet available for the United Arab Emirates. In 2019, commercial services exports were valued at US$72 billion and imports at US$73 billion.”

Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is the first African and first female director-general in the 26-year history of the WTO.

Same thing happened to my elder brother 6 years ago at a College of Education in the North.
He exposed the financial impropriety in the institution and he was sacked and forced out of the staff quarters. All the while he get alerts of his salary till date.
Since my dad is a politician he tried to settle it for 4 years with no luck.
2 years ago he took the school to court for forcefully ejecting him from quarters. He won that case and the school was asked to pay 8m. Since the didn't, the school bus was confiscated.
He also took them to Industrial Court last year on his illegal sack. The school lawyer appeared in court once, called no witness and raised no objection because evidence against them is overwhelming. The pronouncement by the judge is next month.

What I'm trying to say is, don't waste time negotiating. Take them to court. My brother wasted 4 years trying to reason with them but las, las, Nah court dey settle am now .

PVision2020:
You're also being unfair if you refuse to consider the population density of Lagos to that of other states (and other Africa states considered).Roads in Lagos alone account for almost 1/4th of the whole landmass. The population of Nairobi should be equivalent to that of Alimosho and Ikorodu. And even at that Nairobi is no where close to Lagos (fact), forget all those hype, people that have traveled to Nairobi will attest to that.
Also remember the huge infrastructural deficit we have in Lagos, it takes time to bridge.
You know how oshodi, Iyana Ipaja, Berger and most areas and metropolis of Lagos were before 1999. Lagos was a complete slum and ghetto prior to 1999.
The development in other states doesn't in anyway commensurate with the allocation they receive. I served in Rivers State but majority of the LGA's are riverine slums with no Light, water, banks (not even ATM) or Filling stations same as Bayelsa (with only 8LGAs) and other huge revenue states.
Did you say Ishodi, Iyana ipaja and Berger were slum?
And what are they now?
Even Surulere were I grew up wasn't a slum in the 80s and 90s. What is it now?

So you're now telling us that population is a liability?
China must be in trouble then.

I listed certain basic amenities people need like water, road, power, transport ( there are 3 major mode of this, only one is being used in Lagos ), health and security.
Nairobi and Joburg have constant power, functional water system and a metro line.
Lagos has none if these.

I really don't expect anyone to argue this because it clear to see.
The govt doesn't feed us, we feed people in govt. The last palliative they shared how many Nigerians got it? I didn't. And I didn't meet anyone who did. So what has our population got to do with it. Population is even a blessing.
If not for population Nigeria, with our leaders doing nothing, will never be the biggest economy in Africa.

Search yourself and tell yourself the truth. Lagos is better off without Tinubu and he doesn't deserve to be president if Nigeria

PVision2020:
In all the above mentioned indices, Lagos is still doing better than all the states in Nigeria combine considering it's huge population density.
It's on record that Tinubu initiated the Independent power project, most of Lagos State public facilities are Independently powered.
The number of Dams (from Epe to Ikorodu) in Lagos can't be compared to other state.
No state in Nigeria has good road network compared to Lagos. I know states with no double Lane, but even street roads in Lagos are dual Lane, for easy comparison, move from Lagos to Ogun or Oyo then see the difference.
The only state with a vision for metro line is Lagos.
Ambode initiated the best Ambulance service in Lagos State, you'll see ambulance in every strategic position in Lagos State couple with the fine job the LASEMA guys are doing.
The Lagos police are a model to other state police.

I was born and raised in Lagos, so I know where Lagos used to be before 1999.
You are not been fair to other states in Nigeria if you keep comparing their performance with Lagos.
Take a look at the distance between Lagos and other states in terms of revenue and delete this your comment.

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/419020-lagos-rivers-fct-ogun-earned-more-than-other-33-states-combined-in-first-half-2020-nbs.html

How can you compare the performance of someone earning 500,000 to a person earning 50,000 per month? That's exactly what you're doing.

To be fair and objective, let's compare Lagos with other African cities earning the same IGR. That would be a fair fight, wouldn't it?
Now, just to shock you and expose Tinubu for whom he really his, if Lagos were to be a country, it'll the the 7th largest economy in Africa. A huge revenue is being in Lagos.
But travel to Cairo, Nairobi, Joburg, etc cities with same IGR as Lagos and see the facilities these cities have.
Ambode initiated ambulance, can those ambulance be called to picK a sick person at any Lagos home?
I was born in Lagos just like you so I know what I'm saying .
You people don't know jack because you've not travelled to other cities in Africa and see what they have .
A reasonable person will wonder where are the revenue being made going to ?
This is not to pull down Tinubu but to say the truth.
Apart from being a Yoruba, I've been an APC member since 2014 but that should never negate the truth if I have any conscience at all

The FG is primarily responsible for the State of power supply throughout Nigeria.

Anyone who appears confused over that simple reality is likely a hater not worth engaging in any back and forth.
So I want to malign Tinubu on only one point?
I listed 5, but unavailability of the rest in a state you claimed Tinubu has developed with huge revenue did not bother you?

This even shows you have no knowledge of the power policy.

You hateful folks are so funny. Tinubu's political career is laden with success. Everyone can see what Lagos is today, to make all other Nigerian States look like school shed in comparison, courtesy of Tinubu.

We do not even need to go into his deftness as a politician and his unmatched credential as the power behind the emergence of some of the finest and most competent brains Nigeria has ever known.

Yahya Bello has done zilch as a Governor or leader yet his Presidential campaign is ticking alone quietly under the radar, with no attention whatsoever from you Igbos, yet it noise about Tinubu you lot make, non-stop, 24/7.

Do you live in Lagos at all?

Which other place are you comparing Lagos with?

Is there constant power?
Functional water system?
Good road network?
Metro line?
Functional ambulance service?
Effective police response to crime?

Lemme just stop here cos the answers to all the above are No.

These are all services you can find in cities in Africa with same revenue earning power as Lagos.
Obviously, a lot of revenue is made in Lagos but look at facilities around you, do they show that?

You better wake up.

Though some ethnic bigots hate Tinubu cos his Yoruba and his role in Buhari emergence but the facts are also there if you can only see it
