The Presidency should not be by Zoning. Everybody should be allowed to contest, and let the Nigerian electorate decides on who is best for them.

Too much intelligence this Rochas guy.

I can see your obsession with Jonathan is incurable. Why so much hate for a man who has quit peacefully? ...and how do you fare now under the demented relic you foisted on us?

The religious fanatics in Osun State and other core northern states were never going to vote Jonathan...it has nothing to do with performance or poor support mobilisation. He lost there as well in 2011.

Buhari also won overwhelmingly in ALL core northern states including those governed then by the PDP in 2011 to tell you it was ALL about creed and religion and not poor performance as you mischievous liars want to force down the throats of gullible Nigerians.

So, what did he do wrong by mobilising funds to garner support? Would you rather have him make no effort at all?

Yar'adua was sick for a long time before he died. And, GEJ was acting president all through the period.
My temper is not high, and I'm not from the SE. I'm only setting the records straight.

Yar'Adua was flown to Saudi Arabia for treatment in November 2009, and he returned to the country on 2nd May, 2010 only to unfortunately die 3days later.

Nov. 2009-May 2010 = 6months.

GEJ was only in acting capacity for 6months and it's on record he was denied full executive powers by the northern power brokers in cahoots with Turai and some northern senators. As a matter of fact, a number of important documents requiring the president's endorsement were flown all the way to Saudi Arabia, just to deny Jonathan full executive powers.

This compelled some patriotic law makers to prevail on the National Assembly to invoke the Doctrine of Necessity to enable Jonathan truly function as Acting President.

Your problem is just sheer hate for the man GEJ, for God-knows-why. Stop calling a dog a bad name just to hang it.

PoliticsRe: Why Do Igbos Hate Buhari For No Reason? by Mintek: 3:08am On Jul 16, 2016
dickrider:
Why most igbos hate this man is still a mystery to sane minds. He is working tirelessly to fix the rot in the country but their own concern is appointment as if appointing an all igbo cabinet will put money directly in the average igbo man's account. They remember marginalization once buhari won election while they stood and watch GEJ their "attache by force" son do nothing for 5 years in igbo land not even the 2nd Niger Bridge he deceived them with. They claim they want Biafra yet complain about buhari's appointment. I have never seen such level of confusion. The average Igbo youth has been fed with hate and bile towards other tribes thanks to the treasonable criminal called Nnamdi kanu through his pirate radio. They are the most travel tribe in the country yet they complain of been hated. Instead of moving on and working together with other Nigerians to build the country, they keep disturbing our peace with unnecessary biafra protests. Today they blame yoruba, tomorrow it's hausa/fulani. The few patriots amongst them like father Mbaka and Joe igbokwe has been labeled traitors because they failed to hate other tribes and buhari. Nnamdi kanu is their hero and Savior for teaching them to kill their fellow Nigerians. What a group of people those easterners are? They claim lord Luggard made a mistake making them Nigerians forgetting that even the almighty USA was colonized by Britain. There is strength in our diversity and the earlier the igbos reorientate their brainwashed youths the better for them. I have never seen such level of hatred and unpatriotic gestures against one's nation The igbos have no other place to call home, we are all Nigerians and forever will be Nigerians.

I pray God delivers them from hate and victim mentality sad
The question should rather be "why does Buhari hate the Igbos so much"?

Why do most of you Buharists shy away from the truth always?

How do you like and support a president who vowed to sideline your region in the scheme of things and is brazenly making good his promise by truly marginalizing you?

It's extremely difficult to love someone who hates you so much and treats your region with utter disdain.

Buhari should rather learn to be president of all and desist from making inflammatory and divisive comments. It's his responsibility to show love to ALL tax-paying Nigerians and not to only the regions that voted him en-bloc

...and please enough of the annoying excuse of Buhari trying to "fix rot" What rot? The old hick is rather destroying our economy. The sooner he quits the pursuit of parochial interests and gets competent hands to run the economy, the better.

I'm not Igbo, mind you.

let's be honest with our self,at least for once. just imaging, if PDP were still in position today, what would you think that this country would look like, and that of the APC government now?.
as for me, I see all Nigerian leaders as one but still, I think this country would have no longer be in existence, due to the ways the past administration was handling it back then,eg borrowing money to fund the government.
you can share your reasons why you think the later is better or vice vasa.
Your problem (just like most of your zombie-cohorts) is sheer ignorance. Your don't know zilch about public finance yet you delve blindly into economy-related discourse at the slightest opportunity

"...borrowing money to fund the government".

Even the almighty USA borrows to fund some of its programs how much more a 3rd world country like Nigeria?

Tell me ONE single year since independence that Nigeria did not borrow money to fund some of its activities and why is your "saintly" Buhari also running his padded budget through about 40% borrowing?

How do countries (especially the developing ones) finance critical infrastructure without borrowing, and why do you think most countries run deficit budgets?

The greatest impediment to Buhari's success as president I always say is the legion of sycophantic zombies who rather than draw his attention to his obvious flaws will always cheer him on just to justify their electoral choice.

It's disheartening how everything has to be Buhari vs Jonathan, APC vs PDP and that's why we all are in this mess.

Buhari inherited a reserve of about $30billion but depleted it to below $18billion within a year, naira exchanging at N220 to $1 but N355/$1 today due to gross economic mismanagement, PMS at N87 but N145 today, inflation which had been single digit for years now double digits under him.

He inherited price per barrel of crude at $38 but same sells for about $50 today. He introduced a postage duty of N50 on all deposits made into current accounts and also increased PMS price from N87 to N145...meaning the government is making more money than ever before. Yet things are deteriorating by the day.

...and when we complain of the biting hardship they term us "wailers" and sing the expired song Lai Mohammed put in their mouths-

"...PDP destroyed the country for 16years..."

Were we not in paradise in those PDP's 16years compared with the hell we're going through under this direction-lacking Buhari government?

Which fall in oil price? How gullible can zombies be!
GEJ handed over when price per barrel of crude was $38 but it sells for around $50 today. (You have internet access to verify)

The government recently introduced a N50 postage duty on deposits made into current accounts. You have an idea how much that could fetch daily?

Besides these, this wicked anti-people government also transferred the burden of subsidy payment to the masses through the increase of PMS price from N87 to N145. So, the government is making more money than ever before.

What about the hundreds of billions of naira of "looted funds" they also claim to have recovered?

Buhari who inherited a reserve of about $30billion is simply incompetent, stop giving lame excuses.

Was there anytime during Jonathan's 5years at the helm when things were half as bad as this?

TheFreeOne:
By Gboyega Akinsanmi in Lagos and Emmanuel Ugwu in Umuahia

The Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday rejected President Muhammadu Buhari’s position that Nigeria’s unity was not negotiable, saying Nigeria could only remain united if all ethnic nationalities agreed to live together.

ARG, a pan-Yoruba socio-political and economic organisation, also condemned a public statement made recently by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), in which it expressed strong support for the president’s position that the unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable.

A statement by its National Chairman, Hon. Olawale Oshun, pointed out the different reasons why the unity of Nigeria should be renegotiated.

In the statement, the ARG noted that neither Buhari nor ACF loved Nigeria more than those advocating the renegotiation of what binds it together as a country.

It said the unity of Nigeria was only sustainable by the voluntary acquiescence of the component ethnic nationalities and rejected the president’s position that Nigeria’s unity was non-negotiable.

The group added that the problems with the Buhari’s administration had “more to do with his conduct – utterances and perceived lopsided appointments – which appear to portray him as a north-centric president instead of a pan-Nigeria president”.

“Both the president and ACF need to take lessons on managing an all-inclusive, pan-Nigerian government. We wonder on what consensus or authority the so-termed non-eria stands.

“Is it based on government’s ability to silence all dissenters or the capability to manage a diverse society in a manner that makes every component proud?

“Nigeria was envisioned by its founding fathers as a federal republic, sadly its governance structure as dictated by its constitution is akin to that of a unitary state,” the pan-Yoruba group said.

It noted that the insistence of ACF and by extension the president to keep the provisions of Nigeria’s constitution from being renegotiated was the cause of many unsolvable agitations in the country.

“These agitations can only be managed successfully and sustainably when all Nigerians appreciate that they need one another to bequeath a strong country on the coming generations,” it said.

It said Nigerians of Yoruba ethnic stock would never agree “to becoming slaves in their country and the peaceful agitation coming from their space on the restructuring of Nigeria, as against the violent agitation in other areas, is to carefully underscore our belief in peaceful change, the mantra under which the last election was won and lost”.

The group added that all who wished Nigeria well should align with Prof. Wole Soyinka’s assertion that Nigeria’s unity was “bloody well negotiable”.

It noted that the unity of Nigeria and mode of governance were negotiable, adding that “the earlier we all start working towards this, the better for the development, peace and unity of the country”.

In its own reaction to Buhari’s position that the unity of the country was not negotiable, IPOB asked the president to wake up to the reality of the Nigerian situation.

IPOB, which prides itself as a famous worldwide revolutionary movement, vehemently condemned the idea that every component part of the “contraption called Nigeria must remain in the artificial marriage, which has not been working since 1914”.

“It is unfortunate that somebody in that cadre cannot ascertain and does not know that the situation in the country now calls for unity renegotiation,” IPOB said in a statement signed by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful.

The pro-Biafra group pointed out that the British colonial masters amalgamated the northern and southern protectorates without consultation in 1914, adding that no section of the country currently wants to stay with the other as evidenced by the agitation and militancy across the land.

IPOB said in view of the present realities, there was no need for Buhari and those like him to continue to live in the past.

“Rather, the government in power and the new generation of Nigerians should come together and discuss the basis for one Nigeria instead of forcing people to remain as one.

“Forcing people to maintain the citizenship of the country outside their indigenous identities is fraudulent and it will not work because the people of 1914 and 2016 are different and are not the same,” it stated.

IPOB said: “It is degrading and embarrassing that the APC-led government has continued to play the ostrich when things are already falling apart” and wondered if it lacked good advisers who have an idea of the precarious situation the country was heading.

The group reiterated its position that there was no going back “in the quest for the restoration of the nation of Biafra”, adding that “no human being can bring us back because it is the project of God Almighty”.

“More so, we the indigenous people of Biafra want to inform the general public that without the government of Buhari addressnment of Buhari addressing this issue of Biafra and releasing our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, unconditionally the country will not have peace,” IPOB said.

As much as I do not subscribe to the ideals of this rebel, Tinubu-run ARG, I am with them on this and I'm glad this also conforms with the position of the mainstream and recognized Afenifere led by the true leaders of the Yoruba nation.

PoliticsRe: EDO Politics:pastor Ize Iyamu To Govern Edo State Is An Act Of Despiraton by Mintek: 5:48am On Jul 11, 2016
[s]
eseosa77:
I want to refer all the readers of this article to newspaper publication of the Nation Newspaper of Monday 19th May,2014 at Page 43 how the fighting over the soul of APC and Governorship interest of Pastor Ize-iyamu made him and this Grace Group to leave and pitch tent with PDP. Pator Ize-iyamu should stop lying to Edo people on the reasons He left APC. The resignation of Pastor Ize-iyamu followed a 7 day ultimatum given to Comrade Oshimole to cancel APC congress which they believed they have lost out. Those that left with Ize-iyamu included Prince Tony Omoaghe, Alhaji Usman Shagadi, House of Rep member then Mr Abubakar Momoh, Mr Godwin Eshishie, Chief Alemoh Akhigbe, Kashimu Dokpesi, Mrs Bekilas Imisara,Mrs Evelyn Omorodion and Mr Lukman Mohammed. Other three members of House of Assembly Jude Ise-Idehen,Patrick Aisowerien,Friday Ogierakhi and Patrick osayimen. It was Omoaghe who read the communiqué at the end of their meeting in Benin City then. They alleged all of things including marginalization and other sort of things because they lost out in scheme of things. These men thought it was going to be usual way of doing things in the party but without knowing that Comrade Governor was out to promote internal democracy in the newly formed APC in the state as at that time.
Before the expiration of the ultimatum, Pastor Ize-Iyamu met President Goodluck Jonathan and Chief Tony Anineh in Abuja. At the meeting he unfolded his plan to dump the APC. At that time, Ize-iyamu was offered the deputy Governorship ticket by the PDP while other defectors were promised juicy appointments. They were also told to register at their various ward level. Now plans were then to receive them into PDP by President Goodluck Jonthan. Had jonthan won His re-election, the Governorship candidate of PDP would have come from Esan land. PDP decided to turn to Binis because they thought they will use Binis population to win. But this project is dead on arrival. Even when the Grace returned from Abuja, Comrade Governor called for peace meeting ,but their demands shocked the Governor. Their Demands included sacking of some commissioners and harmonization of the elected party officials in their favour.
Many Party Chieftains in Edo State then were of the opinion that Ize-Iyamu’s ambition to succeed Oshimole in this year’s Governorship election were responsible for the division in the party then. Signs of cracks had emerged in 2012 when the Pastor kicked against Oshiomole’s choice of Dr Pius Odubu as His Running mate in 2012 Governorship election. But the Governor was resolute. Then Dr Odubu has not declared his intention to run for Governorship election and Comrade Governor has not promised Dr Odubu that he will hand over to him. Oshiomole was only interested in providing good governance for the people of EDO state.
The real reason the group loyal to Ize-iyamu resigned from APC was because they believed at that time APC belongs to them. But They failed to realize that younger ones are coming up. Pastor Ize-iyamu is popular among old Politicians with wealth who wants to drag Edo back and continue to dictate who gets what and who becomes what. Today in the politics of Edo state, many people who are sons and daughters of nobody who must seek endorsement and approval of these old men before getting anything in EDO state have been pushed away. Even at the age of 70, 80 and 90 years old, they are still battling to be relevant in scheme of things without leaving stage for the younger generations to come up. Oshiomole has brought service delivery to Edo state. He has brought accountability and integrity to this state. You may not like the Face of Godwin Obaseki ,but He is the best man for the job. Many people contest election with this mindset, when I become Governor every other thing will fall in. they do not have proper agenda and vision. Some will tell you that the vision is clear. The future is here. If a state like Bayelsa with 8 LGA and that has population not up to LGA in Edo state can be owing salaries and as one of states that gets huge allocation from Federal Government, then EDOLITES need to ask themselves serious question. It is not about being a Pastor and or what have you.
Edo state needs a man with creativity and vision to move and consolidate on the success story of this Oshiomole Government. It is only a blind man that will say that Oshiomole did not deliver in EDO state. Even the blinds can testify. EDOLITES should not make that mistake. I have conducted my opinion polls in this state in the last two weeks from market women, okada riders in the villages, cab men, students and artisans etc the choice is clear. My advice to some people, elections are not won on social media. If it is on social media, President Goodluck Jonathan would have continued today. Now we cannot afford to go back into opposition and dark days again. Edo State suffered infrastructural development under the Jonathan Goodluck administration. Besides our future and that of our children should not be mortgaged. PDP led government only believe in eating everything today and forgetting tomorrow. The Buhari led APC federal government is fighting corruption right now so that our future will become bright and colourful. So, Edo State is forward ever, backward never

A very poor photoshopping attempt.

The text doesn't align with the paper orientation.

Sorry, but it's game over for oshi-omo-ole in Edo State.

Do you live in Ekiti? Southwest at large? If not, you don't have a say. With the way people are suffering everywhere, 50k can get get me 100 youths to carry placard and sing undying support for me.

The same people that lined up shamelessly to collect 5cups of rice to vote him, wouldn't do same for #500?

Once again, don't be fooled by the pictures you see. No governor(S/W) except Ambode, is getting love from the people right now.
Enough of your lies abeg.

Fayose is well-loved by his people. That's a fact.

You are wrong
Never had we had a more capable leader to lead this diverse nation.
Until now no man has the balls to face corruption and in him corruption in high places quakes
Nobody could remove subsidy he did and Nigeria applauded
Tell me again what no Nigeria leader can do and he did

To the avengers the only answer is military option.
No need of dialogue with bunch of criminals.
No more free money from illegal bunkering and militancy
Where's Buhari fighting corruption? How does witch-hunting and silencing of dissenting opposition voices amount to fighting corruption?

Are military chiefs members of a political party? Pleased try and reason. Are all past military chiefs members of PDP?
You're naive.

Wrongs of over 16 years to be corrected in a year? Before we feel anything the new administration will do will take some time please.
Are you trying to tell me those events I highlighted that took place under GEJ would be eradicated or dealt with in a year? Be real bro, GEJ was a curse and our prayer should be that they get things right this time unlike GEJ who had about 6years to fix things but did virtually nothing.

It's as good as telling me you want to build a house now when your income monthly is 30,000 but you've told me earlier last year that you can't build such when you were earning 140,000.
So gullible and zombified you are that you don't know how many years GEJ spent in office.

Keep blaming Jonathan whose administration was a million times better than that of the confused, direction-lacking and divisive bigot you installed in Aso Rock.

The good thing is that Nigerians are getting wiser by the day, and our patience is fast approaching elastic limit.

Propaganda can't sustain this government for 4years.
