PDP is not a human being...people make up the party and 95% of the people in APC today defected from the party you never get tired of maligning.

Let's start scrutinizing CANDIDATES and not the party.

So, the South will be politically stuupid to vote in another Northerner in 2019 for probably another eight years (till 2027) instead of allowing PMB rule till 2023 for a southerner to succeed him?

OP, you, just like Barcanista, don't know Nigerian politics. As much as I hate the rotational presidency, the fact is it has come to stay and NOTHING will make Yorubas support another Hausa president other than Buhari in 2019 because a Yoruba president will succeed him in 2023. Sorry our Ibo brothers and sisters, GEJ has messed up your turn. It's the painful fact.

[s]Stupidly, some illiterates and blind folded people of this nations are blaming the present government for the economic downfall in the country, increase in price of goods, increase in exchange rate, out burst of diseases. Let me ask you, when last did u listen to news or watch your television? Also, do you know the initial state of the economy and finance of this country in the past administration? Let me clear you now, the excess loot in the past administration, the influx of dollars for campaign and other atrocities, our urge for foreign goods, importation dependence are the cause of this nightmare we are experiencing. If they had done the right thing, Nigeria is suppose to be the center of attraction for other countries and continents. But, greediness is the order of the day for our politicians. Some mind blinded eastern niggas and clamoring for a state which will never exist instead of them to castigate their own ethnic leaders of their attitude and crave for excess and illegal wealth. For this country to be good and better for both of us, the man at the helm of affairs is working earnestly to recover looted funds just as we see everyday and listen to. Imagine, the extent of corruption made our immediate past leaders to store money in the soak away pit, store money in the ceiling, pack our money abroad to develop other countries, spent dollars and other hard currencies for campaign by spraying it around. This is an eye sore..‪#‎may‬ God help Buhari to bring sanity to all the arms of government. Its prayers we should be praying for a selfless leader in the hot seat now. If you which to blame anybody for the downfall of our economy today, blame your past leaders....2016, Nigeria will regain her integrity by Gods grace and we shall enjoy the good of the land. Amen..
God bless Nigeria

Impact not on Nigeria? Yet $1 exchanges for N400 while general inflation persists?

I heard earlier today that a bag of rice now sells for between N14,500 and N15,000...and you think the impact is not on Nigeria?

Can't we for once put party affinity aside and reason sensibly, or do APC loyalists buy items at lower rates in the market?

Northerners will definitely vote a Fashola if he performs relatively well in his current assignment, they don't reason nor play politics of hatred and vengeance like you play, which has brought you to this unenviable political position you are.
Ogbeni you don't know zilch about the north.
The guy you're engaging speaks nothing but the truth.

Osinbajo and APC SHALL be annihilated should a northerner fly the PDP's flag after Buhari.

There's no chance a genuine "Dan Arewa" (northerner) will prefer a "Bayarabe" (Yoruba) to his own kinsman for presidency.

The north is actually shrewd...kudos to them and I assure you they're enjoying the prevailing political atmosphere.

Honestly I don't see a Southerner occupying Aso Rock anytime soon.
PoliticsRe: Ministers Did Not Have The Time To Screen Budget Properly – Presidency by Mintek: 8:57pm On Feb 13, 2016
[s][quote author=tuale4u post=42897795]This is the time for Nigerians to pay more attention to the positive impact of the current happenings in the NASS defence budget than focus on unnecessary technicalities and use of English.

For the first time in 16years, the executive led by PMB have refused to defend inflation of Budget that some government officials and civil servants would have easily stole. The current rejection of some huge figures by various ministers is a clear reflection of president Buhari anti-corruption stand. It is very difficult to indict yourself on a document you signed. it takes courage, sincerity and high level integrity to do that. We must commend president Buhari for that. For Buhari to openly indict himself in public when he can easily make a deal with the senate president by compromising the trust the people place on him like it was done in the past just to cover a little "embarrassment" is very commendable.

We need to tell ourselves the truth. Most of the items in the Budget that are rejected today by Buhari administration, are items that have be existing in the Budget for the last 3 or more years. The items have been defended in the past without any scrutiny by the National Assembly because in the past corruption was worship.

I know some people will argue that PMB is to be blame for the current embarrassment. Yes I agree that the Budget is his responsibility. However we must as well tell ourselves the truth that there is no way PMB would have read all the 1000 page documents. No president in the world does that. The truth is that the civil servants who made the budget estimate did it base on previous template and mindset in the past. They did not fully understand the change agenda of PMB. Hopefully by 2017 budget, we will have less of this misunderstanding between PMB stand and the civil servants interpretation of his stand. Some people will argue why use a template from a previous government you condemn. We must be sincere and know that change is gradual and takes time. The change agenda is a 4year to 8year agenda. So everything cannot be changed in months.

We must also know that the reason the National Assembly is doing more critical work in this budget rather than rubber stamping it as they use to do in the past is because of Buhari anti-corruption stand. If Buhari was sharing Ghana must go to the senate like it use to be in the past, there will be less noise coming from the National Assembly.

I work in a multinational company. I have not met any boss who reads 100 page documents prepared by me or any other of his staff page to page. Some of us here on nairaland are bosses too. For that we can forgive PMB for poor oversight for a document of about 1000 pages.

I am not saying this Budget and the process are perfect. But what I am clearly saying is that, this Budget and National Assembly scrutiny of the Budget, and ministers open rejection of possible inflation is the best Nigeria has had in the last 16 years. This is a major progress every sincere and objective Nigerian who loves the progress of this country should applaud. Because this new development is in the best interest of the country.

I am very happy with current noise about the Budget. This is a clear sign that Change has come. And change has come to stay.
Change is always difficult. Change usually face a lot of resistance and rough path. [b]This Budget is actually a BUDGET OF CHANGE

Tell this gibberish to your zombies.

While addressing the Senate Committee on Health during its budget defence session on Monday, Prof Adewole had stunned the Senators when he said;
“We have to look into the details of the budget and re-submit it to the committee. This was not what we submitted. We’ll submit another one. We don’t want anything foreign to creep into that budget. What we submitted is not there.”

“Now, a whole minister has come out to say that budgetary provision for his ministry was forged!

“If under a President that says he is fighting corruption, the budget of the country got missing and we are now being told that the budget being considered by the National Assembly has been forged, one cannot but be afraid that there is possibility of Nigeria being forged one day, after the original must have gone missing.”

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Government To Reduce Price Of Petrol To N85 Per Litre From Jan 1, 2016 by Mintek:
The key issue the government needs to address is product availability and not necessarily pricing.

Upon subsidy removal, only NNPC will sell at the government-set price of N86 or N85 while marketers sell at any rate they wish BUT how many Nigerians will be willing/have the time to go queue up for 2-3days just to get PMS from NNPC stations?

An under-supplied product can never sell at a low price no matter how much the government tries to influence prices.

If we experience this amount of hardship when the supply quota ratio is 52:48 one wonders what will happen if marketers make good their threat to completely withdraw from the arrangement if terms don't improve.

Honestly, except the government focuses on sufficient supply, all I see is PMS selling at an even higher rate than Nigerians currently buy.

What do you guys think

IS IT BECAUSE IT IS BUHARI?

- By Mustafa Yahaya

I marvel at the way and manner we think in this country, worst of it the way we think in the north. It is just a few months ago that we all continually lambasted president Jonathan's cluelessness, I referred to him as the "drunken master of Otuoke", and nobody harassed me, and now because they fear the power of the media that brought them to power they want to castrate the social media, with Buhari firing the first shot in an interview with Sahara reporters' Adeola in New York, why, is it because it is Buhari?
We demonstrated against pump price increment for petrol, government of president Buhari wants us to swallow the same pill we rejected a few months ago, yet some of my northern compatriots see nothing wrong with that, is it because it is Buhari?

When three sons of Sheik Zakzaky were murdered during the Jonathan administration, El-Rufa'i called it genocide by the jonathanian army, now under Buhari more than 200 are killed, their mosque and houses destroyed under Elrufai's nose as Governor of the same state, he has not called it genocide by the Buharian army, is it because it is Buhari?

Under the Jonathan administration subsidy payments were termed as fraud, and there were hues and cries to crucify oil marketers, Buhari even called it a fraud himself, we also thought so, Six months later the same Buhari is paying for subsidy yet nobody is calling it a fraud, why, is it because it is Buhari?

We criticized Jonathan for keeping a large fleet in the presidential fleet and wasting monies on maintenance, only recently President Buhari's spokesman admitted 2 billion Naira was spent on their maintenance, when other presidents are even doing away with their jets, yet we sit down and watch helplessly, is it because it Buhari?

Fuel scarcity is biting harder, value of the Naira is going rock bottom, inflation is now on auto pilot, while profits are dropping, purchasing powers are becoming weaker, yet we are asked not to query them, is it because it is Buhari?

If we criticized Jonathan for cluelessness, we will also criticize Buhari for helplessness.

While tribal and regional jingoist see nothing because it is Buhari, what I see first is Nigeria and not whether Jonathan is a southerner or Buhari is a Northerner, we. Cannot continue to be trapped in the closet of tribalism, regionalism and religious bigotry yet expect our country to remain one and grow.

Yes! we might be of different orientation and background but what is good is good any where any time and what is bad is bad, I cannot be suffering and keep smiling because "my brother" is the president.
