On Adaba FM 88.9 in Ondo State, people are calling in to voice their support for the Federal government.

They can hate over there. . . .their hate wont change anything
Adaba FM is owned by Tinubu and is a well-known propaganda outlet of the APC. I can bet my last cent that those "people calling" are the the employees of that station. Tap me when you hear anyone calling in on an Orange FM program to support this heartless anti-people government.

Rule of law

The rule of law is the legal principle that law should govern a nation, as opposed to being governed by arbitrary decisions of individual government officials.
Brilliant!

I think Buhari could use your analysis here to cure his penchant for flouting court orders.

The strike has died before its birth.

Sorry NLC and mourning mourners. Nothing for una.

The govt has asked you empty brains to come up with alternative to this deregulation instead of using the same line of "GEJ was not allowed to remove subsidy" but none of you has come up with anything reasonable. We're in different time and different situation economically from 2012.

If NLC leadership had any functioning brain, it'd be fighting for increments in workers salaries and not this lost cause. Besides, where was NLC when half of the states were owing five, six, and eight months salaries to their workers?

Useless set of toothless dogs. Una don jam person wey pass una.

"...Osinbajo's semantics" you said?
Now this is a whole new level you have taken zombeeism. Are you claiming to know better than the 2nd-in-command?
PoliticsRe: Rally In Support Of Fuel Subsidy Removal In Kaduna by Mintek: 12:47pm On May 17, 2016
doctokwus:
Removal of subsidy will continue garnering support because there is a level of trust for this govt, but most especially, all other parts of nigeria aside Lagos and Abuja have never bought fuel for less than 135-150 for at least 2yrs,and in large parts of the north, since BH crisis started.
So why wud they support a subsidy they have never enjoyed in the first place. It makes no sense
...because there is a very HIGH level of ethno-religious bigotry, not trust for this government.

PoliticsRe: PENGASSAN : We Support Deregulation, Not N145 Per Litre. by Mintek: 11:05am On May 15, 2016
Raziii:
don't be naive, as long as we import, the price will never go down. I mean it's just simple economics na. why are you guys allowing these guys sell crap to you. I took out one important point, 'allowing Deregulation of the industry to be driven by import'. govt is simply passing the subsidy payment over to us. question we should ask is, is there a need for subsidy payment? what if the price of crude oil goes back to over a hundred naira before the year runs out? why was it being subsidised in the first place? for all those saying now is the best time to remove it, I think the best time to remove subsidy would have been when we are no longer affected by the prices at the international market or the fluctuations of the dollar and that can only happen when we start refining locally. truth is no matter how fierce the competition is, no body will sell below his cost price. When APC said the price will crash to 50naira in 6months, my question is, is the cost of bringing PMS to the pumps less than 50naira?
Incisive.

PoliticsRe: IMF Vs Buhari: Do U Think Nigeria Should Devalue The Naira? by Mintek:
steveneche:
Devaluation in itself is not totally a bad economic policy as one of its major benefits is export promotion as opposed import... The problem is what does Nigeria export n how much does she import?

With this in mind, Do u think Buhari should socumb to the ongoing pressure by the IMF to devalue the Naira?
For me, this raging debate over currency devaluation and IMF vs China loan is just a ploy by the APC government to divert public attention away from their gross ineptitude.
That the local currency slumped to an all-time low of over N320/U$1 in less than a year into the "messianic change" government is enough proof of Buhari's poor handling of the economy.

These people who after getting to power rebuffed calls from all quarters for the quick composition of a cabinet and the prompt formulation of sound economic policies to attract FDI deserve no modicum of public sympathy. They claimed to be cleaning "mess" while their inaction ensured the Stock Exchange lost hundreds of billions of naira, investors fled owing to lack of economic direction while the local currency slumped. As if these were not enough, they imposed some palaeolithic currency control measures and yet expect the economy not to head towards recession.

We're in this mess courtesy their legendary incompetence. They created these problems for us, and how they go about solving them ain't our business.

Wetin concern the common man with IMF/China, Devaluation or no Devaluation? Buhari and his ministers are paid to do the worrying for us. Enough of this deceit abeg.

Not all of us are fools, they expect us to sing Buhari's praises for rejecting the IMF's overtures in favour of a masked enslavement deal with China and I ask: why should we praise you for attempting to solve a problem you created?

Before any zombie quotes me and starts scribbling drivels, remember that Buhari inherited:

- N205/$1
- Nigeria as Africa's largest economy and number one-rated FDI destination
- A vibrant Stock Exchange
- Enlistment in JP Morgan's Bond Index

How did we lose all of these in less than a year under Buhari and why should we praise him now for begging around in a bid to solve problems he created himself through his cluelessness?

Battling to fix what you destroyed cannot be deemed an achievement. I'll take the old man serious only when he succeeds in improving what he inherited and not while he's fighting tooth and nail to merely return to status quo.

[s]This is why I just laugh at PDP supporters when they "taunt" APC for losing elections in supposed strongholds. They fail to see that the president has adopted a posture of non-interference, which of course angers most party faithfuls as it gives the opposition room for a foothold in areas in which they could easily be outmanoeuvred, albeit illegally.

The president is indeed a true democrat silently enriching our electoral process and democracy[/s].

There was no fuel scarcity in 5 years of Jonathan's administration.

Fear of uncertainty caused by APC denial of existence of subsidy and sponsored protest against total deregulation leading to the only nationwide scarcity can't dent Jonathan"s record.
