I think Speaking and Listening are the same for both modules. They differ in Reading and Writing, if I'm correct.

Yes they differ in Reading and Writing for sure.
I wrote wit a friend same day same hall. Listening was same na her writing and reading different from my own.and that's the difficulty for some.

How dem take come here
Hahahaha. Yes they did. U will be surprised they passed their written exams. Some pretend not to speak English at all but they do speak it. Chinese everywhere love to speak their own language so except is very necessary they will fool you. Moreover when English is not ur first language you are tested differently and there are also compulsory english courses u take when u arrive. TEFL teachers (Teaching English to Foreign Learners)

house: can Ghana stamp entry visa use as Intl immigration history?
Not necessarily because as Ecowas country u don't need a visa to go into Ghana. It's a laissez passez more or less. U can however just add it. Why do u need that? Last I checked they asked for countries visited not visas abi new form dey?

I've never seen anyone hit the 8.5 mark talk less a of 9.0 in IELTS Academic Module.
I hit 8.5 both in Listening and Speaking then writing and Reading na 6.5 each. Yet them give me overall as 7.5

General as I have heard from many is easier than academics because u are headed to school and they want to be sure you can cope academically as against the general day to day living and working.

pls house come to my aid on this issue.
Schools A : cert iv in disability (39weeks)+ diploma in disability (70weeks) + adv.diploma in disability (66weeks) altogether making it 3.5 yrs for d whole course
Note certificate course is a prerequisite to diploma n diploma is prerequisite to adv. dip to qualify for SVP
School B: diploma of early childhood education care (78weeks) + adv.diploma in community sector management(26weeks) altogether 2yrs ..SVP too.
payment for d tuition for both is almost d same except that d oshc of school A will be much more than B cos of duration of study...school A course is much in line wit former course i was denied visa wit (aged care+nursing)
my question...
(1) am worry cos of 3.5yrs for tafe course whc is also bsc duration as well, won't Pretoria tink i shud opted for degree?
(2) completion of cert n diploma will already qualify for two yrs post study visa/ PR...can I bone d adv.dip then
CC missmakoye, futuredon,surveyor1,Mrnilobrawn....pls wanna make my final moves this week....both have Oct intake too.

As per relevance to your last application go for A.
But if i am given your choice i will rather do B cos its cheaper, its svp and its on the SOL and CSOL lists when i decide to go PR.

But 3.5years? Might as well just do PR directly na. Pls tell me again what's stopping you from doing PR directly?

Things no one would tell you about new south wales;

1.so many asians here...about 80 percent if im not exaggerating, chinese tops the list.

2.it gets dark by 5pm...like 8pm in naija kind of dark.

3.once in a while,in a bus,you will see a white granny staring at you like she just saw kinta kunte.. lol

4.It is absolutely possible to live a lonely life, with no friends like a psycho.. grin

5.you will probably meet not more than 5 blacks in your first week.

6.Chinese generally dont associate much with other races,so dont feel bad,for you are not alone.

7.you will probably need some time to get back your normal sleep cycle, sleeping during the day and late night wakefulness will eventually balance out.

8.nkechi back at home probably thinks so much more of you now,but then, you are still the same person.

9.most bills are paid bi-weekly,eg rent, gym bills etc

10.cheap things like ordinary keyholders cost about $13 and a something like a printer+scanner=$35....imagine

11.you might actually not wanna go back home... grin grin

still luving it here..

Hahahaha. Well stated. The last one (11)na wetin sweet me pass.

Okay I will do that now. But no svp for Diploma courses. Are you aware of that? And that 3 months Assessment level 3 can be scary bro.

Depends on your school, there are svp for diplomas.

Culled (CIT has been selected for Streamline Visa Processing (SVP) by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for both Advanced Diploma and Degree programs.

DIBP announced that SVP was extended to eligible vocational education and training (VET) and higher education providers for Advanced Diploma level courses, effective as of 23rd November 2014.

Any student applying for a student visa with an Advanced Diploma outcome will be processed under SVP, there are no other choices for students applying at this level.

Hello guys, i hv bin following this thread from page 1 thread 1,i have read and re-read it, i want to study in Australia masters course work, bt d issh about my case is i hv a degree in history, and my occupation is nt on the sol list, but its on the csol list,if i chose to do my masters in international relations will i be qualified for a post graduate visa? i will appreciate honest answers ..! Thanks house

Hi,
If you want to apply for student visa then its gonna be svp. Even diplomas qualify for student visa
If you want to go through the route of permanent residence then You can do the needful from the csol list (Cos u will know which body is assessing you) Start your assessments and see how many points you will get.(How many years working exp, age, ielts, degree etc) PR doesn't need 'post graduate visa' like u put it. There are many other subclasses of visa.

So it all depends on which route you wanna take.

Thanks for the advice but do I tell them that I intend to do my service after my advance diploma in australia that I will return to my country. explain to them that I defer d NYSC to two years time. At least it may be an added advantage that I will return back to nigeria after my studies.
Response pls

Guy I have never heard where NYSC will defer the service year for two years especially since you have started the servoce year already. Except ofcourse the commandant is related to you. (I stand corrected though but it has never happened before. And if it has there must be a very good enuf reason.
Now don't think that Immigration officers are fools, why they call us 3rd level risk country na because we get plenty frauds so be sure that they will or may check to find out from NYSC.
Unfortunately I seem not to be capable of any good advice tonight.
First order of business find out if NYSC will give u a 2 year break (that u are likely not to come back to complete even) then u can BOLDLY tell Pretoria the truth.
Another option is defer till September wen u can provide ALL the documents they need. I prefer that option more. Better to be honest and clean from scratch.

hello house, due to my circumstance, i have been finding it difficult taking a decision on my Australia travel arrangements.

I can raise money for my 1 year studies but not sure of the second year except i work. I'm also new in the oil and gas industry and will also like to advance a little on my career before moving over to Australia but i'm afraid the visa laws may get tougher by then. I had considered given up on my career for Australia but i'm always very reluctant as i haven't got enough experience that will make it easier for me to come back to the industry after studies.

Just recently, i thought of getting married to my girlfriend and sending her to study while i retain my work. This idea seems to be the best i can think of right now because i can continue with my work here, and also i'll have access to credit facility in case things get bad. I can also visit her during my field breaks.

But my question is if i enrol her into svp and both of us need to apply for the visa, will they demand for my account statement which will need to show sufficient money for the both of us?

Is it feasible she works and cater for her up keep while i take care of her school fees only?

What type of visa will they grant me and what are the provision of such visa?

To cut ur long story short u want to work alittle and gather enuf money before leaving Naija. Cool
Yes u can do svp for ur wife. You will apply as her dependent wether or not u leave the country together. (This will help u be able to get visiting visa with ease because u are regconised) Yes u will need to fill a declaration of funds form(or sometin like that). This form will be given to u by the school u are planning to aply to for her. Yes u should be able to declare enuf money for her fees. When u are visiting, with her there u won't have difficulties as per statement of acct.
Yes she can work and study and if she na "manager" she will be able t take care of her small small needs while u take care of tuition.

What do I do in my case, that they have said it will take 3 months and resumption Is exactly the 3months what is the process of deferring admission? Thanks

If yours is SVP u will get it in less than 3 months.

For deferring you have to contact your school. write a mail to the email that sent you your CoE or Call them to defer. But i suggest you go ahead and apply, It might work out, You never know.

Svp - Streamlined Student Visa takes from 5 working days to 4 weeks.(Best option is search for courses under SVP)
Normal student visa takes 9 working days to 3 months
Yes you can work wit a student visa. (You will have to apply for a student working visa wen u arrive Oz. After school registration and after you have seen your time table and shit)
Yes they recognise ALL the degrees/certificate/diplomas/adv diplomas offered in Australian universities. They even recognise some degrees from Nigeria University/colleges of Education/Polytechnics.

@futuredon, @iriferi,@surveyor1 @Mrnilobrawn, anyone wit info regards to my question... tanx.

While speaking with my course cordinator, i asked that question and she said you can reapply anytime. And as a Travel consultant i know that when it comes to visas (business or pleasure) you can reapply immediately after denial.
I am assuming therefore that student visa should be so. If you doubt it you can call teleperformance Lagos or Pretoria and just ask to be clear.

I emailed IOM lagos at the same time i emailed IOM Australia, both replied almost same time (next day)
I supplied them the required info and got their quotes.
Ok. IOM Lagos came a little bit cheaper than IOM Australia, ($30 difference ) and more importantly a better route as it is Lagos-Dubai-Melbourne where as the other is Lagos-Dubai-Singapore-Melbourne.
The mode of payment is better with IOM Lagos too as you simply pay into their Standard Chartered Bank Acc.
Of course, I chose IOM Lagos, paid from the comfort of my bedroom by instant transfer and got my ticket the next day.
Wow!
May be you guys ain't reaching the right mail or phone numbers.
